Everything in Between is a truly inspiring and emotionally connecting book of poems penned by the authors own experiences of love, breakup, and more. I connected to this book so much emotionally and can see this being so helpful and almost like an emotional balm for anyone currently going through a painful breakup. The book is written alphabetically from A to Z and gives a word to describe the collection of poems within each letter section and then a brief description of said word (e.g. A - Anxiety). Honestly, many of these poems could have been about me almost 20 years ago, and a book like this would have been so inspiring to me during that time. I'll definitely be reading more poetry from this fantastic new poet!
I enjoyed the alphabetical concept of this book of poems!
Covering topics of heartbreak and grief in the landscape of romance and friendship, these poems dig into the grittiness of being spurned and may be powerful for those working through similar experiences.
Imagine blasting Alanis Morissette or Taylor Swift as you fantasize about burning your ex-friend or lover's favorite shoes, and then sitting down to really think through all your rage and upset so that you can move forward. I imagine it's supportive and cathartic for those going through or recently having transversed these difficult paths.
Thanks to the author for an electronic advance reader copy.
i give 5 stars to everything in between (a to z) because i wrote this book and i am very proud of it! these poems helped me get through the hardest times of my life: breaking up with my first lover, growing up, losing my best friend and so much more. sharing this book with the world means so much to me. i want every person that goes through something similar to know that they are not alone and hopefully they will feel understood by reading my book.
Wow! Can we talk about the range of emotions covered, the concept of the alphabetic order and the different kind of poems in this book??!!😍 I give this book a 5 stars, and I believe everyone should read this book once in their life. I think most can relate to a part of this book (especially if you’ve ever been through a break up) and It’s part of why I think this book is so healing.

You can feel every emotion literally bleeding onto the pages! This book is for anyone who has ever gotten there heart broken wether by a lover, a friend, or a family member (in my case all three).

Arianne Laporte’s beautiful work ‘everything in between’ is a collection of poems from a-z that she wrote during a time of healing in her life. I did not know what to expect when asked to review this book, and was initially unsure if I could even properly rate it, because it’s her lived experiences in her own words. I saw myself in many of these poems, starting with those centered in anxiety— I have felt these emotions and never quite had the words to explain it, this book gave me many of those words. Each letter of the alphabet is followed by a word defining the theme of that section of poems. From anxiety to toxic to phantasm and sounds, Arianne’s book reads as a steady stream of thoughts at times— leading you, the reader to go pages and pages without even realizing you are reading a different set of poems.
To conclude, I especially appreciated Arianne’s poems surrounding seasons and the messages relayed in those pages. As I stated before I was unsure if I could rate this work but I have no problem giving it 5 stars and applauding the author for bringing this beautiful love letter to self to fruition.
I read this great book as I was going through a breakup. The book helped me go through so many feelings I wasn’t even aware I had until I read some of the poems. It is always a little scary to feel the variety of feelings the end of a relationship can bring but reading the poems brought them to the surface. The author invites us to feel these emotions in a safe way because we feel like we are not the only ones going through this. It also helps validate how we feel and makes us feel like we are not alone. I particularly enjoyed the poems where there was an analogy to a sheet of paper as an example or a snowflake. It really shows the great writing talents of the author. Thank you Arianne for creating this great tool to support me and many others going through the stages of grieving.
3.5 ⭐️ A collection of poems about grieving, a broken heart, friendship, love and healing, put together in an alphabetical concept. The authors words are honest and emotional but beautifully written. I think this book would be very helpful for those going through similar feelings of heartbreak and loss, you can really connect with these emotions and written words.
The first poetry book that I have read in my adult years and I loved it! The honesty and rawness in the poems is what life is like. It was good to read feelings that I couldn’t put into words myself. ✨
This was such a relatable and emotional (imma cry baby lol) book. This book brings you poems relating to love, breakups, and friendships. Depending on how you read into it, it can give you more than just that, like it did for me (little explanation below)! This collection of poems will make you not feel alone through the rough times. If you’re going through a relationship or a friend break up, this is a really good book to read, and I hope that it brings you some healing and comfort. Every poem is written beautifully and with a lot of emotion. It was also very healing to read! Now, for my explanation. The day that I read this, I was thinking a lot about my cousin who passed away in 2015 due to mental health. My main thought on that day was how I do not remember his voice or his smile, and it was/is seriously breaking my heart. As I read through these poems that night, and seen it written in writing, I became so emotional. So with saying that, within the poems or maybe even within one of the full poems, you may find some sort of relation dealing with something else that has or maybe is happening in your life.
this beautiful poetry book was SO clever - it focused on every letter on the alphabet being something meaningful from arianne’s life - (e.g. anxiety, betrayal, confusion etc) ⠀ ⠀ it portrays on how f-ing HARD break ups are and oh my gosh i wish i had this three years ago when i went through one of my hardest - some of the things that were said, especially the smell of cigarettes being a reminder - i connected so so much with all the feels. ⠀ ⠀ scroll for some of my favourite poems arianne wrote that i connected with deep in my soul 🩵⠀ ⠀ ⚠️ stay mindful that this book is very raw - it touches on intense topics - r**e/s**ual a**ault, heartbreak, losing family, self hate & more, so research/ask for content warnings if you need x⠀ ⠀ thank you @ariannepoemsandbooks for my virtual copy of this 🌙
This book is filled with powerful and emotional poetry. I loved it from start to finish. So many relatable moments in here! I had so many favourite poems, but here are some of my top favourites.
“and i find it just sad that we humans are like that bringing others down without any valuable reason simply because we can”
“friends they are so hard to keep i mean they have a hard time keeping me i always hold on too hard and too long if you ask anyone friends i can't call them that anymore”
“every inch of my body hurts i can't think straight anymore i don't know how to be me anymore”
Mini review: •This is the first poetry book I’ve ever read and it was written beautifully!
•This book demonstrates the emotional and mental struggles the author went through during love and break ups. Each poem was divided by a to z with a brief description of the word (e.g. A- anxiety). While reading this series of poems you could feel the emotion and heartbreak the author went through therefore making this book an emotional roller coaster. I loved how this author wrote each poem and I’m so excited to read more by her!
This was such a great read and I couldn’t put it down! I loved how well written it was, it almost felt healing with how wonderfully detailed it was. The poetry is full of great emotions and pulls a reader in. The author’s words come through beautifully and I truly recommend it to everyone even if you don’t read poetry!
This was a beautiful book full of raw and honest words of getting out of a relationship. i loved and enjoyed reading every single bit of poetry written in this!
Thank you Arianne for reaching out and sending me a copy of your book!
This poem book flows so well. It is really well written. You can feel the emotions! I don't read a lot of poetry, but I really enjoy reading this one ❤️
I received this book for free. This does not impact my review in any shape or form.
everything in between: from A to Z by Arianne Laporte is a poetry book about a woman’s struggles with moving on from a toxic relationship. The poems in the collection are organized into 26 parts, each corresponding to a letter of the alphabet, and thus providing a kaleidoscope of emotions that come with a harsh breakup. Within each of these parts, Laporte delves into the pain that love, infatuation, and at times, codependency, have caused her. Nonetheless, albeit tentatively, she chooses to move forward, despite the agony she carries with her.
The poems are incredibly relatable, and illustrates how someone who, after losing someone they love, may become vulnerable to mental illness, unsafe environments, ect. Although we’re supposed to have a support system in place, there are times when we have to learn how to go at it alone. It’s scary being independent, and though we want to fall back on the familiar, there comes a time when we have to learn to fend for ourselves. Life isn’t some fairy tale that we can just lose ourselves in, especially if you’re a woman. The poems in the book just solidify that. Still, I did find some humor in the book; one of the chapters is called Xia, which was the name Laporte gave to the girl her ex was seeing. Interestingly enough, my dog’s name is Xia, and while I might not be able to vouch for the girl, I can certainly defend my dog’s character.
The poems are a bit repetitive at times. I would’ve liked to see more poems written about her family and friends, since there are implications that her heartbreak from this current relationship stems from her interactions with other failed relationships. Despite this, everything in between you captures the emotional complexities of getting over a loved one. As such, I would give this collection a 4 out of 5 stars, and, because of the similar writing styles, would recommend this to anyone who enjoys Rupi Kaur and Courtney Peppernell.
