There’s just too many things going on and I’d prefer if it stayed just one storyline

I'm not really sure what I think about this book. The storylines kept me engaged throughout, but I do think there were too many to follow, which was hard. I also thought there were too many characters, which was overwhelming.

I liked the Eva and Fitz part of the story, but I did find there was alot of different names to remember and it kept flipping to other people. As the story gets to the end, it became less about Eva and Fitz .

One Liner: Mismatched expectations and styles

Note: This book is the last in the series. So the author tried to complete the tracks pending from the previous two books to provide a rounded and satisfactory ending to the series. However, this crucial information is missing from the blurb.

***

Eva decides to start fresh and invest in her pottery career after a miscarriage and breakup with an unresponsive and selfish boyfriend. This decision takes her to Lilacwell, a gorgeous small town a few hours away from her home. She meets the mysterious Fitz, the local carpenter with handsome features and a possibly hidden past.

Fitz feels instant attraction towards Eva but needs to face his past before he can move ahead with her and get into a relationship. They need to help each other to find their HEA. Of course, the local community is more than happy to provide the necessary support.

We also get detailed insights into the lives of others and how some of them make the most important decisions of their lives.

The story comes in the third-person POV of multiple characters.

My Thoughts:

I’m always up for sweet small-town romance with adorable covers. Just look how beautiful it is! The premise is sweet too, and so are most of the characters.

I didn’t know this was a series when I requested it. Of course, that wasn’t really an issue. We get enough backstory to know what had happened in the previous books.

There are multiple tracks, each dedicated to different couples. The ones from books #1 and #2 have a lot of space in this one. Other characters also get their POVs, which makes it more of a community book (needless to say, I didn’t expect this and didn’t know why until I read the author’s note at the end.). Soon, I adjusted my expectations.

The book introduces a character and provides their backstory before moving on with the story. While it helped the main characters, it felt a bit too much for the side characters. Of course, it’s hard to say who the side characters are, as many get equal importance.

The writing is easy enough to read. The book begins with Eva’s story, which makes a strong impact. Unfortunately, the others don’t feel the same (even Fitz’s story pales despite being poignant).

My biggest issue is with the execution and timeline. Instant attraction is fine, but the rest of it feels surreal. I couldn’t connect with how Eva and Fitz’s relationship progresses. That’s because the bonding between them happens off-page and has to be assumed. The story begins when a side character is in her first trimester and ends when her baby is three months old. The issue isn’t with the time, per se, but how it jumps every few weeks and months, summarizing the most vital part of the lead couple’s relationship.

With such a tender premise, the book could have a tear-jerker or a heartwarming romance where two wounded souls come together and heal each other. Here, it’s pretty much on the surface. I think this is a case of mismatched reading and writing styles. The author’s writing style didn’t work for me. So I’d say this is a case of ‘not you, it’s me’. Readers of the series are likely to love this book.

To summarize, Together in Lilacwell is a rounded conclusion to the series and should be read in order if you want the right feel of it. It is a sweet and cozy romance with minor issues that get resolved fast. It’s a quick read, too. A good summer read.

Thank you, NetGalley and Canelo Escape, for the eARC. This review is voluntary and contains my honest opinion about the book.

The third book in the Lilacwell series, “Together in Lilacwell” is a cosy, captivating and emotionally charged novel perfect for snuggling up with for a relaxing afternoon of romantic escapism. The story will delight and uplift you in equal measure exploring the power of healing, second chances, and the possibility of finding love amidst personal struggles.
We return to the idyllic village with Eva, a woman in need of a fresh start after a tragic miscarriage and the ending of a toxic relationship. From the moment she steps into The Cobbled Courtyard we are transported into a world overflowing charm and a sprinkling of mystery. Eva’s love interest comes in the form gorgeous and enigmatic carpenter Fitz - another wounded soul seeking refuge in the village. Their connection and sizzling chemistry is instant and as they navigate their own personal demons they find solace and understanding in each other's company.
The character development in this book is exceptional and Eva's journey of healing and self-discovery is beautifully portrayed- allowing us to empathise with her pain and root for her as she rebuilds her life. Fitz, with his own troubled past, adds a further layer of depth and complexity to the story which keeps you engaged throughout.
The supporting cast of equally engaging characters are those from the previous novels with whom we get to have a catch up like that with old friends. Lilacwell is once again described with such vividness that it becomes a character in its own right and with its cobbled streets and quaint charm it is the perfect backdrop for the characters' emotional journeys. The themes of healing and second chances are delicately woven throughout the narrative as the author explores the idea that running from one's past is not the solution, but rather facing it head-on and finding the strength to heal and move forward.
All in all “Together in Lilacwell" is a beautifully written and emotionally resonant novel that will tug at your heartstrings and remind you of the possibility of finding love and happiness even in the midst of adversity. If you're looking for a heartfelt, uplifting and romantic read, this book is a must, perfect for fans of Jo Bartlett, Rachael Lucas and Jessica Redland.

This book is a story about two people who have been badly burned in the past but are learning to grow together, as well as many POV chapters from some other villagers. I liked the initial set up of the story and although the themes would ordinarily be quite heavy they were relatively lighthearted in this book. which was nice. It was nice to read a novel where the characters are very self-aware and relatively good communicators, the pacing was good and nothing felt overly drawn out, with a few plot twists in there.

There were a few continuity errors but these are easy to ignore. I struggled to develop a relationship with the other characters and was itching for the story to get back to Eva and Fitz but that is probably because I haven't read the first two in the Lilacwell series. By the mid-point, it felt a bit like the story was no longer Fitz and Eva's.

Overall, this is a sweet, small town romance that was a quick, easy read, and very enjoyable from start to finish. I'd like to go back and read the other Lilacwell stories.

TLDR: Sweet small town romance, but would have preferred more Fitz and Eva scenes.

Rating: 3.5/5

This is the third book in a series about the village of Lilacwell and of the characters who live there.
Now I've not read the other two books and that was certainly no issue for me. Yes there is a large cast of about ten or so main characters but you soon pick up who is who.
This book has a few themes running through it and very enjoyable they are too. Some are more real life issues which gives what would of been a more light as frothy book a bit more gravitas. This by the way is meant as a good thing. I do get a bit bored by books of boy meets girl and everything is roses with no hiccups along the way. Even our main characters have some very sad and troublesome past events.
I've enjoyed the book, it's very well written in an easy to read style and has been written from multiple points of view which I find gives us a more in depth feel to the tale. There are several stories going on at the same time but I enjoyed that aspect of the book. I would like to say it's an ideal book to sit out in the sun with and read, but right now we have hail storms battering the house, so I'll amend that to a good book to snuggle up with when the weather is atrocious.

So, Together in Lilacwell, if I had to describe the book to someone, it's a cosy slowmance that's like snuggling up under a warm blanket on a cold winter night with a nice cup of tea - it's a genuinely enjoyable read.

Jumping between different characters gave the book a soap opera feel but instead of the book playing out like an episode of EastEnders where everyone's cheating on everyone's mothers with their dogs or whatever, you've got nice problems cropping up where you're looking forward to seeing how those characters work through them.

Lilacwell sounds cute and cosy like a village straight out of Animal Crossing. The various places visited throughout the book could be playsets from Sylvanian Families. Everything's just nice and heart warming, it's hard to complain.

It would have been nice if this book focused more on Eva and Fitz, maybe touched on Simon a bit more to show us that he was a proper dick, but you don't really like him from the get go anyway.

As someone who primarily reads horror, this book was a welcomed change in scenery.

MY REVIEW:
This was a very sweet, small-town romance. The characters were well fleshed out and, for the better part, relatable and realistic.

The book uses a common plot, and as with all small-town romance books, there is an underlying theme of hope and healing.

A super lightweight, very quick read. You can easily finish this feel good book in an hour.

Thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this book in return for my honest review.

Together in Lilacwell is the third book in the series set in The Cobble Craft Yard. We are introduced to the enigmatic carpenter Fitz who keeps himself to himself. Fitz is doing his best to remain under the radar and hide from his troubled past. Eva arrives to takeover the pottery studio following a tragic miscarriage, breakdown of relationship and in search of a brand opportunity to makeover her life. Pottery was a hobby that go set aside as life took over. Can she make a go of the pottery, and how will she get on with the other crafters in the Craft Yard. We follow Eva as she starts over. Follow the continuing story of the residents. Overall this is an easy and undemanding read. I received an ARC from Netgalley.

Eva, seeking change after a miscarriage and breakup, finds solace in the Cobbled Courtyard, where she focuses on her pottery. There, she encounters Fitz, a skilled wood carver with a mysterious past in Lilacwell. Their immediate connection hints at mutual healing as they confront their respective challenges. This charming small-town romance offers a delightful and easily digestible read, making it enjoyable from beginning to end. While it stands well on its own, delving into the other Lilacwell stories enhances the overall experience. Reading the trilogy in order is recommended for maximum enjoyment.

This was a pretty good book! Looks like a standalone and it does feel like one. But knowing that's it's the third in the series brings a lot of understanding to the book.

The blurb talks about Eva and Fitz but I think they were only about half the book? Maybe? We saw a lot of all the characters but we saw more of the characters from the previous books in the series. At points, it felt like a huge epilogue to those books. Who knows? I might read those books as prequels.

The ending also felt rushed in the end. We saw a problem that was solved (definitely very rushed), and while it's a good ending. It doesn't bring satisfaction to one who expects the blurb to reflect the book.

A great book to snuggle up to!
I can get bored of reading very easily, so I need a book which keeps me motivated. I had a read of the blurb before I bought this and I was intrigued. I finished reading the book today and I can honestly say that I enjoyed reading every page! It’s a lovely read and I looked forward to reading more. Lilacwell was just amazing! I loved it how even though Fitz had a very privileged upbringing, he was unbelievably hard working. Eva was an excellent example of how life goes on…. she wasn’t in a good relationship so moved away and then a whole new chapter began for her. This was the first book I have read of Sasha Morgan’s and I will definitely be reading more. 🙂

I bloody loved this. The characters are so easy to fall in love with, and Lilacwell is vivid in my mind from the get-go.

Loved that it wasn’t just focused on Eva and Fitz, and we got to know the other wonderful residents of the town, and they all feel like people you could meet anytime!

The only thing was a tad out of pocket was what happens with baby Poppy near the end, but that was all started and finished in about a chapter.

Really good and easy read that was perfect for bedtime reading.

I chose this book based on the blurb, but it didn’t mention it was the third in a series. I would have liked more about the main characters and less about the supporting characters. I struggled to follow who was who sometimes as there were so many extra characters. A good story but the blurb needed to have more detail about all the extra characters and their stories.

Didn’t like all the flip flopping between characters.
I haven’t read the previous books and I made the mistake of thinking this would work well as a standalone book but there was too much talk of characters I had no interest in getting to know and it just left me confused and eager to get to the end just so I could start another book

My first Sasha Morgan book. I liked it. I loved the whole Lilacwell setting. Eva's story was so lovely I'm glad she found peace and was able to move on to a loving relationship after her bad experience with her ex. Fitz woodman cottage he built sounded awesome. Baby Poppy sounded adorable.

For me, this book was very cringey and I struggled to finish it. There was no real storyline and the village seems totally unrealistic. Unbeknownst to me there were two Lilacwell books before this one which I definitely will not be reading

This is a cozy read about people living in a countryside village. It gives comfort and warmth.
The only thing I had trouble with too many characters, which was difficult to keep on mind.

Aww, my third and final visit to the Lancashire village of Lilacwell, I can honestly say that I have loved each one of the books in this little series equally, and I'm sorry that we couldn't have more from there.

If you've read the first two books in the series, you will certainly recognise a few of the characters, but in this book we meet some new ones too.

The Cobbled Courtyard in Lilacwell sounds such a sweet little place, with a half dozen or so, artisan businesses, a wood carver, a forge, a pottery, and a florists among them.

Eva is desperately in need of a change, after a miscarriage and the subsequent break up with her boyfriend, and it's to the Cobbled Courtyard, where she comes to concentrate on her pottery.

It is here that Eva meets the mysterious Fitz, a very talented wood carver who also escaped to Lilacwell some years ago.

The attraction between the two of them is fairly instant, and it's pretty clear that they are going to be good for one another, as they try to overcome their struggles from the past.

This book would read quite well as a standalone, but for maximum enjoyment, as always I would read all three books in order.

Thoroughly enjoyable series, and I look forward to seeing what is next from this talented author.

Not a fan of this book, there are lots of characters ( too many? ) and the story just seemed really flat. Where in some romances you are left guessing for a few chapters, this book had none of that.
