Cœurs brisés

Rate this book

”I wanna know you,” he says quietly. “All the things.”

Ok so I think the readers of this series all were aware that Rhett is loyal AF, but now we get to experience him being loyal AF and a flipping squishy gummy bear falling in love. Sienna is the PERFECT heroine for Rhett. She matches him perfectly in so many ways, and honestly I just easily fell for her character and her story. They start off a little roughly, but man do they blossom into this sweet with the perfect amount of heat romance. Oh and for my trope loving friends we have the hockey player and the ice skater you’ve all been craving since Netflix axed your favorite show.

It’s Valley U, so of course we get our mains hanging out with our favorite gang of hockey players, their girlfriends, and the still “single forever” neighbors *cough* please give us M&D *cough* that just give this series the perfect found family vibes. I loved this book. There are some heavy moments in this story that Rhett and Sienna go through, but I love how they navigate things together and with the help of their crew rooting for them together and as individuals.

I don’t know what else to say other than Rebecca Jenshak just keeps getting better and better and I love the college sports romance world she has created with this series and the one that came before it.

Ahhh. From the first one of these books, I have loved Rhett. I mean he gave some serious great boyfriend to his high school sweetheart who he never saw, who didn't deserve him. And each one of these guys have found some equally as awesome women.

So, if you have read the series you know Rhett has been in a relationship forever. Initially I was worried about how the ex-drama was going to play out. And as things got started between Rhett and Sienna, I got even more nervous. But I did not see it playing out how it did.

Sienna was amazing. I couldn't get enough of her. And I love getting characters who have unique issues and hers was interesting and just made me love her more. But the way Rhett fell for her and expressed himself was pure swoon.

As always with this crew the secondary characters gave just as much as the main characters. And Maverick had me laugh out loud a few times. I really can't wait to see him fall in the next book.

-It's emotionally and physically overwhelming being with this man.

-His kiss is possessive and demanding.

Broken Hearts (Campus Nights #3) by Rebecca Jenshak is a standalone college, friends to lovers, sports romance full of emotion, humor and angst. It's super sexy and I absolutely adored this hero! Rhett is a really good guy. The kind all dad's hope their daughter's bring home. He so genuine and loveable, but also adorably awkward. I couldn't get enough of him! I love this series and can't wait for more!!! <333

The H is trying to move on from his ex girlfriend and is using (in the nicest possible way, I'm sure) the h to do this:
“I used Sienna as a crutch”

This isn’t one of those “I can’t live without you” kind of love stories:
“the truth is, I can live without her. And she can live without me.”

This IS one of those books where we don’t meet the ow on page but she’s very much around all the time. Like ALL the time.

Also, like the previous book in this series, the H misses a very important occasion in the h’s life. She’s literally working towards this throughout the book. Irritated the shyte out of me.

I gave this 3 stars instead of 2 because I DID enjoy it even if the enjoyment wasn't consistent.

Well this was a goddamn bore. When I first started reading, I kinda thought this could be a fun read because the scene with Rhett hooking up with a girl he fell asleep on, plus his and Sienna's first meeting was pretty funny. But this fizzled out very fast. Sienna barely resisted him, and her worries about him being a player who would hurt her felt very forced and also didn't amount to anything. There was no conflict in this and no push and pull btwn the main characters, they were instantly into each other and they were being flirty from jump. I thought there would be some conflict with Rhett's ex-girlfriend Carrie, but even that turned into nothing. Well actually it turned into something big, but I cared so little and it didn't seem to matter much since throughout the whole book Rhett kept complaining about her. I can't help but wonder why I'm supposed to care about what happens to this character when I learned nothing positive or personal about her throughout the whole story, she was practically a stranger so who gives a shit? Rhett didn't even like her and had nothing good to say about her, all his friends hated her, so seriously who cares?

The main characters and their romance was super dull, they were just cardboard cutouts, and this heart condition shit meant nothing to the overall story. This was so boring that I started skimming. I truly don't understand all these 5 and 4 star reviews.

Petty nitpick: I fucking hated when he would call her angel, it is such a corny petname. What 20 something year old guy calls his girlfriend angel? Ugh.

Broken Hearts is the 3rd book in the Campus Nights series. It is a New Adult Sports Romance. These books don't need to read in order though I highly recommend it as the main male character is heavily present in the previous two books.

Rhett & Avery's story was sweet, flirty, funny, heart wrenching, passionate with just the right amount of steam. I loved the way they interacted and really enjoyed that this story followed the guy chasing the girl, with Avery being a little more apprehensive thinking Rhett was just a campus 'player' but boy was she wrong.

Both main characters where athlete's and both dealing with some circumstances that at times got a little intense/heavy but I loved the way the story played out and found that I was never once bored. So far this has definitely been my favourite story of the series and I'm so excited to see how Mav's story turns out next.

Broken Hearts is one of the most beautiful story that Rebecca Jenshak has written to time.
Such a fine wording, a good plot with funny and heavy topics perfectly blended, and a cute and hot romance between the main characters.

Rhett is a hockey player and newly single but it seems like he can't adapt at his new dating life because he was in a relationship for so long he forgot how to flirt. Sienna is a figure skating, she hasn't a dating life because she has spent her college years working hard on the ice. One night they fall into each other and from that point on they hardly can stay away from each other.

Rhett and Sienna journey was an emotional rollercoaster as we follow them through their first not so friendly encounter on the ice (what a better place for a figure skater and a hockey player), to the blossom of a deeper feeling, to their insecurities and fears, to the hardest hurdle that life puts on their way, till their well deserved happy ending.

They are both good characters, but together they become perfect. Sienna and Rhett are strong, sweet, loyal and they pour everything they have into their sports. I loved to know better Rhett and to find out he is one of the good men, and Sienna has pleasantly surprised me with her maturity.

This was an amazing experience, I recommend to read it and I'm sure these characters will steal your heart.

This was a pretty fun and easy read, very low angst I'd say even though there was a little bit at the end. As much as I love a possessive or jealous hero, I actually really enjoyed Rhett in this book and how secure he was with Sienna. He never really got jealous of her close male friend she spoke to often and I thought that was a nice change and it made me love Rhett all the more.

Two minutes ago I wouldn't have thought I was capable of laughing. All day I've been worrying about her, but here I am smiling and feeling calmer. That's just what it's like with Sienna. She makes bad days better. She makes everything better.

5 stars!

Oh my goodness, y'all. I've read almost every single one of Rebecca's sports romance novels and loved them all, including Rhett and Sienna's book. However, I have to say that BROKEN HEARTS is Rebecca's darkest book yet, as she deals with some heavy themes and emotions in this one. But don't worry, she still manages to weave in her signature lighthearted and swoony romance, and I absolutely loved every word!

Rhett has been kind of a stoic and reclusive character up until this novel as he was in a long-distance relationship with his high school girlfriend, Carrie. I was so excited at the end of the previous book where single Rhett finally came out and seeing him in this novel was so great. Rhett was so adorably goofy and funny, and I loved how he and Sienna met. Sienna was such a strong heroine in so many ways, but I especially loved her in the second half. Overall, this novel was my favorite in this series so far, but I have a feeling that Maverick's story might top even this one ♡

My Rhett, the hockey player who would do anything for his angel...

Author Rebecca Jenshak writes sports romance with so much personality and humor yet they are always sexy and touch on real issues and this book is my favorite from her yet. I would have never thought she could out do her last book but she does it again and again.. I am always so excited to read her next book because I know I’m getting everything I want in a sports romance and more.. I spent a good 40 percent of this book just enjoying the banter and playfulness of all the characters in this series..
Rhett has always intrigued me since the beginning, always stuck to his phone and fighting with his ex girlfriend... I had wondered how his story would go and Man oh man what a story.. Sienna is such a strong female lead, she’s not shy about her condition but she’s determined to be who she is without the heart condition getting in the way.. these two have perfect chemistry and amazing heat.. their playfulness and dedication to their sports and their friends are so admirable. They are very likable characters and I could not put this book down.
When their issues arrive I was rooting for them the entire way. I felt like I was in the stands cheering them on and begging them to get it together .. this story is so well put together and very thought out. I can’t wait to read Mavericks because I know he’s got a good one.. I loved this book , this entire world from the.beginning is one of my rereads for years to come.. amazing!!

I loved Rhett & Sienna and their story beyond words! I was captivated from the first page to the last.

Sometimes characters come along that I know will stick with me, Rhett & Sienna are now on that list of characters. I loved that Rhett got to tell his story. I laughed so much while reading their courtship. Rhett was adorable during that time. Sienna has been through a lot so I loved that she wasn’t afraid to stick up for herself.

Sienna & Rhett were imperfectly perfect for each other. I loved watching their relationship evolve and going on their journey.

I have been loving this series and Rhett & Sienna’s story was the perfect addition. I can’t wait for Maverick’s story.

i do feel legally obligated to state that seeing the og cover as i went to write this review was a JUMP SCAREEEEE but moving on, i loved this book!!

this started a fun, flirty romance between a college figure skater and a member of the school’s hockey team. meet cute? nah, give me a black eye and then apologize over and over again for it. rhett was such a golden retriever in the beginning and even though they had a few moments of miscommunication, he put in the WORK to get a chance with sienna.

broken hearts also took such an emotional turn that had my heart aching while i read it but it was truly such an authentic representation of our complicated emotions as humans (especially college-aged, confused humans). this story will break your heart a little but it’s also packed with a funny friends, banter, and incredible chemistry between the two MCs. can’t wait to read the rest of the series!

I was not expecting this to be so sweet and low angst! I really enjoyed this one a lot and the meet cute was hilarious. Rhett and Sienna were perfectly matched and what they were willing to do for each other proves that. My only issue - I LOATHE the nickname Angel. Rhett please cool it 🤷🏻‍♀️

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 𝗢𝗠𝗚 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘄𝗼𝗼𝗻𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Rebecca Jenshak is one of the authors, who has me hooked from the first to the last page! And this book was no difference.

Rhett & Sienna meet at the rink, where they are both on the ice, training a bit more. Unfortunately Rhett crashes into Sienna, and she gets a black eye. From that moment on, Rhett is giving his all to show Sienna he’s more than the klutz lol. The chemistry between these two is sizzling, the fun and laughter feels real! The characters from the books before play a great role in this book as well, which made me really happy, as I’m totally in love with all of them!
Rhett is absolutely adorable, swoon worthy and sincere from the beginning, even tho Sienna thinks he’s a total player!

I was laughing, swooning, smiling, crying and rooting while reading this book! I’d totally give more than 5 stars if I could!

“I have no idea how he can move so slowly when my heart races for more”

LOVED IT!

A figure skater and a hockey player, a match made in heaven.

Rhett, is the definition of good boy, the one you’ll take home for the holidays. He has always been in a relationship, and now is single. So his goal was to make up for his lost time, and experience college at the fullest. Until her at least…

Sienna, I loved her character . She’s also trying to make the most of what’s left of college , and in particular her skater ‘career’ as she’ll soon leave all behind to find a job. And nothing is gonna stop her, not her heart problem and surely not a sexy hockey player who keeps showing up everywhere she is. At least that’s what she thought .

” -I wanna know you-, he says quietly. -All the things.”

Their journey was like being on a rollercoaster of emotions, you go from the sweetest moments to the sexiest ones in a blink of an eye.

The chemistry was off the charts . It was like fire works.

If you loved the off-campus series by Elle Kennedy , I highly recommend this one. You’ll love it for sure!

I gave it 4.5 stars

4.25⭐️ And the obsession continues! I don’t know what this woman puts in these books, but I am unable to stop reading them. Every spare minute I have, I spend it reading this series.

Just as with the other two couples, Rhett and Sienna’s story held my attention until the very last page of the bonus epilogue. Which was ADORABLE btw! 😍
Their story was fairly lighthearted as well, until something unexpected happened towards the end. Like really unexpected! 🫣 I was really surprised the author wrote the book in that way, that she went that route, but I am totally here for it! 😂 It’s mean, I know…but idc!🤷🏼‍♀️😂

The only reason this is not a 5 star is because Rhett should have waited longer to get into another series relationship.
I get where he was coming from, that they were in a long distance relationship that was slowly eroding, that they didn’t get along anymore or that his ex cheated on him. I get his reasoning for being done with the relationship that rapidly, especially him being a man and everything, but it still felt too soon after a 6 year relationship.

Maverick, you perfect human being, you!!! I adore you and can’t wait to read your book!!!! I hope Dakota is the perfect girl for you because you deserve the world!!!

Ps: If you don’t like seeing the mmc hooking up with another girl before he met the fmc, then you should probably avoid this book because there are some explicit scenes at the beginning that would bother you. I didn’t mind because the mmc and fmc didn’t even know each other at that point…but yeah..I wanted to give you a heads up!

Note to self! Here’s some info on all the couples in the series in case you forget any details about them:

Heath and Ginny
Heath is a future professional hockey player and a bit of a bad boy until he meats Ginny, Adam‘s little sister. They slowly fell for each other in the sweetest manner possible.

Adam and Reagan
Adam is the hockey team captain and a serial monogamist, meaning he has a new girlfriend every few months, he doesn’t do casual. Reagan is Dakota and Ginny‘s best friend and has had a crush (in secret) on Adam for years.

Rhett and Sienna
Rhett, the quiet one of the group, is also on the hockey team and is Adam and Heath‘s roommate. He has been in a 6 year long distance relationship with someone else until they broke up. Sienna is a figure skater with a rare heart condition, which makes it harder for her to get close to people, especially when it comes to men.

Maverick and Dakota
These two are still a mystery to me so far. Mav is basically their fourth roommate because he is constantly hanging out at their apartment. He is the rich, no filter, hot guy of the group and Dakota is the sensible, no bullshit one of the girls friends group. I am really curious to see how their story will unfold.

Sienna and Rhett! I loved watching loyal Rhett falling for Sienna. He's awkward, a little goofy, sweet, charming, and totally smitten as he pursues her. Sienna assumes Rhett is a playboy looking for a one-night stand since he's a hockey player. After several dates, Rhett is able to show her that he's truly interested in her and wants to know everything about her. Sienna finally realizes that Rhett is a genuinely nice guy.

The Valley U crew is there to nudge Sienna and Rhett in the right direction as they get to know each other. The Valley U women immediately bring Sienna into their tight-knit group and let her know that she has one of the good ones. The men coach Rhett as he pursues Sienna. I loved Maverick's texting advice. LOL! This great group of friends keeps me coming back to this series. They have fun and joke around, but more importantly, they are always there for each other through thick & thin! Sienna and Rhett must deal with some challenging events, but their incredible group of friends who are more like family supports them through it all.

Broken Hearts is a wonderful story about having the courage to be open to love. Maverick's up next and I can't wait!

Thank you to the author for providing me with an advance reading copy of this book. I voluntarily left this review that reflects my honest, unbiased opinion.

I picked this book up because I was in a mood to read and discover more sports romance after watching the spectacular FIFA World Cup 2022 Qatar. Rebecca Jenshak is undoubtedly a new-to-me author and her writing is quite amazing, making her books easy to read and indulge myself into. Sienna is a talented figure skating (Have I mentioned how much I'm obsessed with figure skating after watching the Winter Olympics 2022?) and Rhett is an incredible ice hockey player. They're good together and I love that Rhett constantly proves others wrong when they assume he's a player who loves spending nights with puck bunnies and has zero responsibility of his behavior. Who knows Sienna turns out to be the play-ah one?! Their love story is a fairytale one and sometimes, Rhett's thoughtfulness seems a bit unrealistic to me so that's why this book isn't a 5-star read for me. Despite that, I'd still recommend this book to anyone who's looking for a lovely, light-hearted contemporary romance!

Prepare yourself for all the FEELS, because Broken Hearts is Rebecca Jenshak’s most emotional story to date- and her most special. While still chock full of the characteristic Jenshak charm- that sexy, fun chemistry and sweet and swoony charm- Rebecca imbues Rhett’s story with added emotional complexity and compelling tenderness as she tackles her heaviest and most angsty romance to date, and I could not love this story more.

I wasn't sure how I'd feel about Rhett based on the last books. The serial monogamist stuck in a seemingly toxic relationship seemed so closed off emotionally to his friends, despite being a stoic and steady presence. But Rebecca let’s his heart shine in this story- we get to see the real him- the best and worst of him, and I love this man. He’s just a wonderful guy- heartfelt, loyal, kind, and faithful. But he also can’t seem to get things right- both with his ex, and with his unexpected interest, Sienna, the focused figure skater that he quite literally bumps into. I love how rocky their beginnings are- how humorously and endearingly Rhett puts his foot in his mouth over and over again, I feel madly in love with them, probably quicker than any couple thus far- the spark between them was just so captivating.

Sienna owned me straight away- I loved her feistiness and her adapility. And I also loved her determination, and her kind heart. She took a minute to warm up to our bumbling Rhett- but she can’t deny the connection between them. Rebecca writes character chemistry with such ease- and I loved how Rhett and Sienna’s chemistry unfolds so easily and authentically from their rather disaster meet cute start. Their flirty banter, how honest they are with each other- it’s so refreshing. Despite being strangers, these two quickly felt like close friends- and Sienna is the perfect addition to the girl gang I’ve come to love.

This book is most definitely much heavier than the others- there is a gravitas in general to bother characters already given past pains both are working through - Rhett’s revolving around his ex. And Rebecca handles a heavier story with such aplomb- keeping the sweet lightness I love about her stories while also making space for more angst and the more complicated emotional components to this story. It makes the story feel messier, more challenging, but that also makes it more rewarding. And brilliantly so far this is the only couple who don’t already have some sort of connection to one another- somehow the characters with the least foundation have their connection challenged the most, and that makes it feel rewarding and makes their connection feel more unbreakable. There is a palpable vulnerability to this story that I found so compelling and moving- and I felt like I’ve never connected with two Jenshak characters as deeply as the result.

As always, our motley cast of amazing characters show up in big and small ways. In our last book, I felt like the girls really got to shine, and in Broken Hearts, is the men who show out. Their personalities contribute in a beautiful way to Rhett’s journey (Adam’s solidness and leadership, Heath’s chillness, and especially Mav’s unpredictable and humorous sagaciousness). With every passing page, I love the more- the way they’ve become this tight knit, supportive, and loving family- they show up for each other, care for each other, help each other be more themselves- be BETTER. And their friendship chemistry is chef’s kiss. AND FOR THE LOVE OF GOD- I NEED MAV’s STORY! Every book makes me more and more obsessed with getting inside his ridiculous mind.

This series just keeps getting better and better- the writing sharper, the banter more endearing, the characters more complex and compelling, and this amazing crew of friends more charming. I can’t get enough of her storytelling and the entire Campus Nights crew- my favorite series yet from an author I can’t get enough of!

Rebecca Jenshak writes some of the most amazing NA sports romances I've read and I think she is a deeply underrated author that not enough people know about. (This is a hint to all of you who haven't read anything by her yet - pick up one book, and I mean anyone, and you will have a blast.)

Broken hearts is the third book in the series, but can still be read as a standalone which I did this time because I couldn't tone down the excitement over the hockey player/figure skater trope (!!!!) to catch up with the other books first. I think I will appreciate the cameos of the former couples more when I finally get to read (and re-read) them in the right order. Back to the fact that the trope I have been craving forever is finally in my hands and I loved it. I would have liked it to create more tension into the romance, but in the end I realized it was perfect as it was. I mean, in my crazy fantasy I thought that trope would mean, I don't know, fights about ice time and hatred of each other sports for taking practice time? Which don't really make much sense now when I think about it, but oh well it's never to crazy to dream I guess.

The characters are so likable and that's one thing that never changes with Jenshak's books. I loved Rhett and Sienna together! Rhett is so loyal, caring and sweet you just want to hug him. Sienna was a great heroine and I really want to have her as my friend.

One thing I love about Jenshak's books is that they all aren't just revolving around one sport, but several. For example, her Smart Jocks focuses on basketball, Campus Nights on hockey and she even has one standalone about golf!! Sweet spot is the only book that has made me say that I actually, genuinely liked reading about the sport, which in itself is a miracle. There is a lot of sports out there and I appreciate that she doesn't just stick to one. Even though my favourite sports to read about are hockey (like this series is) or football, I do crave different settings and new things to learn about from time to time.

If you are looking for a fun and sweet college sports romance with great characters, look no further!

A warning though, towards the end the story takes a sharp turn and gets quite heavy so be aware of that before you dive into the story.

Broken Hearts is book #3 of the Cumpus Nights series by Rebecca Jenshak. It is a sweet and fun standalone, told from both points of view and ends with a happy ending. Genres: YA Romance Tropes: Sports Hockey

Rhett Rauthruss is having trouble adapting to single life after ending a six year relationship while Sienna doesn’t really know about dating in college since she’s spent most of it working on her figure skating. Their relationship has a rocky start, but it evolves into a sweet couple with sizzling chemistry.

Both are loyal and charming characters. The banter between them is fun and entertaining, and the great secondary characters add a lovely layer to their story as the all support each other and add comic relief to the story.

One thing I can always count on to pull me out of a reading slump is a college sports romance from Rebecca. Genuinely loved this one so much. It was flirty and fun but also got so real and emotional towards the end. Ugh I just loved them.

This series is pure college/sports romance perfection, and this new book is a great addition.

I’ve been intrigued by Rhett since the beginning of the series. His relationship with his girlfriend didn’t seem healthy. End of the previous book, they broke up, so it was time to see how a guy who had never really been single would deal with dating. It was priceless! I love awkward characters.

Sienna is here to challenge him. She’s the epitome of strong and independant, forced to keep to herself because of her heart condition. I found really interesting how the whole group takes to her without really knowing her–I felt like they did because she wasn’t Rhett’s ex, instead of because of who she was. It isn’t developped though, and they end up being good friends anyway.

Their relationship was really cute, and somewhat realistic for a college romance–something nice and fun slowly becomes more serious. And though there’s little drama–at least until close to the end–that doesn’t mean the romance is shallow and meaningless. A few interesting elements are developped, like what it is like to live with a potentially deadly heart condition but still wanting to live, how to deal with a clingy ex.

And, most of all, what it means to be successful in the sport you’re about to say goodbye to. There was a lot of hockey in this hockey romance. I loved it.

This book was the perfect mix of sports, love, laughs and drama. I can’t recommend it enough–with the rest of the series.

If you have been reading Campus Nights from the beginning, you know that Rhett just recently broke up with his long time girlfriend. Now that he is single he is ready to live it up with his hockey friends his senior year of college. Sierra is in her last year of school which also means her last year of figure skating. She is determined to keep focus and won't let anything or anyone distract her from training so she can perform well. But when Rhett and Sierra keep finding themselves sharing the same ice time and ending up at the same parties maybe Sierra shouldn't keep fighting the pull they have to each other.

Rhett is one of the loyal and amazing book boyfriends ever. I love him so much. I love how awkward he was because he has no clue how to navigate single life and dating. He had me laughing so many times. He was just perfection. Deep sigh. Sierra - let me tell you about Sierra, this character is hands down my favorite character that Jenshak as written. When the conflict happened every other author/character would have taken Sierra down a needy-whiney-poor-me rabbit hole. But Sierra was so freaking strong, supportive and amazing. I adored every single thing about her and how her character was written. Not only were Rhett and Sierra amazing, we have all the other Valley U couples and they are such an amazing and fun set of side characters. I loved every single thing about Rhett and Sierra's story except the part where it ended.
