Based on the Twelve Step program for recovery, Twelve Steps for Overeaters presents an in-depth interpretation of the specific steps that can lead to spiritual awakening for chronic overeaters. With compassion and authority, Elisabeth L. describes how recovering overeaters must do more than refrain from compulsive overeating--they must and can create a whole new relationship with food, bringing their physical and spiritual lives into balance. Chapter by chapter, Twelve Steps for Overeaters describes the route to recovery and the challenges to be overcome at each step.
Elisabeth L. is the author of Twelve Steps for Overeaters and several other popular Hazelden titles adressing the issues of recovery from eating disorders.

Personally, I just don't agree with the tactic. I highlighted some things that I could relate to. There was only a little here that I was motivated by. Everyone is different though, so I still think it's worth a read if you're struggling with compulsive overeating.
Meh. Lots of ‘higher power’ bs - too much for my taste. Not much help when you are expect to turn everything over to your invisible friend, ultimately never accepting full responsibility… thought it would be more helpful. 2/5 stars
