One forbidden bad boy. One runaway bride. A ten-day road trip where anything goes.

The secret crush I’ve had on my brother’s best friend since childhood was supposed to vanish on my wedding day. But when my relationship unravels moments before walking down the aisle and I run, it’s my crush who saves me.

Ladies’-Man Maverick Mendes has always been completely off-limits. He may be a solid choice for my brother’s best friend, but my family would never approve of him as my partner. Besides, he’s never looked at me as anything more than a kid sister. So there should be no harm in crashing his work road trip. Except now that we’re alone, and on the road together, all bets are off.

I’m getting brave and telling him exactly what I want. And his walls are coming down, too. He’s sharing secrets with me he hasn’t disclosed to anyone, not even my brother.

We have ten days to be alone and throw our inhibitions to the wind. But what if I want more? What if he does? Making this childhood fantasy a reality means I’ll have to risk it all. And he could jeopardize not only his reputation, but his friendship. We’re the only family he’s got.

With the odds stacked against us, are we being selfish to even consider something more than a ten-day fling? But the heart wants what the heart wants. And without a doubt, my heart wants Maverick.

Best Part of Me is a brother’s best friend, small town, steamy romance with a guarantee of a happily-ever-after.

I signed up to be an ARC reader for the Best Part of Me and was lucky enough to receive a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Best Part of Me is a quick, light read that packs some heat. Brother’s best friend is one of my favorite tropes, and it’s so well done here. The tension between Cammie and Mav is palpable from the very beginning and I couldn’t wait to see where it would lead. Your heart breaks when you realize how Chris treats Cammie. So when she decides to run and leave him at the altar, you’re almost proud. Naturally, she is saved by her childhood crush, Maverick. He knows her and sees that she’s not making a rash decision and decides to help her out. The rest of the book follows the two navigating their feelings for one another while on a road trip ignoring the chaos Cammie left back home.
Cammie is for the girls who’ve been told they talk to much and are constantly shut down by the people around her. Maverick is the type of man who not only knows you, but sees and hears you. He is also damaged and feels he doesn’t deserve love. So all of these things make him the perfect book boyfriend.

One forbidden bad boy. One runaway bride. A ten-day road trip where anything goes

"Maverick Mendes will always be it for me. The man I will forever measure all other men to. And it’s unfair. Because I will never have him."

“If I get even one fucking day less of the ten days I was promised with you, I will lose my shit.”

The attraction between Cammie and Maverick is SCORCHING from the beginning. Cammie is deciding to do something for herself for the first time in her life. Laying everything out there. What she didn't expect, was to find a man just as gone for her (if not more) than she is for him.

This book was so HOT. LeAnne really kicked it up a notch and it was soooooo delicious. I loved the tender side we got of Maverick and the bold side we got of Camille. They didn't change the other, because the truth was, they were perfect just the way they were. But they found a way to embrace all parts of themselves, thanks to each other. To be able to grow together, side by side is such a beautiful thing.

Maverick EASILY just became a top book boyfriend.

I cannot wait to see where Rosie's story takes up next. She's a little spitfire and I can already tell it's going to be so much fun!!

Thank you to the author for my gifted eARC. All thoughts are my own.

I first want to thank Leanne for sharing her book with me earlier and letting me be an ARC reader.

I really wanted to love this book but for me there were parts that were missing. I just couldn’t connect with the characters. I personally did not feel the connection or chemistry with them. I really wanted to but I didn’t.

The plot of the story is a great plot. And I enjoyed reading about all the different national parks.

Spice Level: 🌶🌶🌶
7-8 scenes that were fun and sweet and hot and spicy

Camille has always loved her brother’s best friend. She thought maybe, just maybe he returned the feelings, but when he never acted on them, she moved on. She’s about to get married, literally, about to walk down the aisle when her relationship unravels and she needs a quick getaway. Enter Maverick and his motorcycle. He rescues her when she needs it most and they finally admit they care about each other, but because of her brother, can never act on it. To get away from the fallout of her wedding she goes with Maverick on his 10-day work trip driving to parks around the country. They decide to embark on a “just for now” fling and agree that when they get back they will go their separate ways. Pending they can keep things between them strictly physical and not allow feelings in. The 10 days of spice is hot and spicy! I love these two together and was rooting for them the entire way.

It's the day of Cami's wedding and she's in turmoil. She stayed in this toxic relationship because her terminally ill mother wanted to see her settled down, but now that she's passed away Cami just can't do it.

Instead, she runs and is met by her brother Jones' best friend Maverick in the parking lot. He whizzes her away, simultaneously saving her from the chaos and bringing to life her deepest fantasy. Cami has loved Mav since she was 13, but he's strictly off limits and doesn't do relationships.

Yet Mav has a proposition for her: hide away with him for 10 days as he travels California's National Parks and let their inhibitions go. You see, Mav's been hiding feelings of his own, and this may be their only chance to explore them freely. But now that they've experienced each other, will they be able to let go? & what happens when real life comes calling...

THANK YOU to Author @authorleanneaugust for an ARC of this book. I absolutely adored the prequel Come Back to Me and love that Cami is the granddaughter of Nettie, whilst her best friend Rosie is the granddaughter of Gigi. We may have taken a huge jump in time between books, but the town of Maple Ridge and the families at play are still the same.

Cami & Maverick's epic love story was the classic forbidden romance with the brother's best friend, but set in the gorgeous scenery of California's national parks. LeAnne's writing style is brilliant; I was absorbed within the first few pages and read the whole thing in one sitting. She writes sexual tension and chemistry in such a raw and believable way 🔥

I love that Cami and Mav's communication was on point, and the reasons as to why they hadn't acted on their feelings before made sense. They're both such relatable characters and you could feel longing through the pages.

5 star read for me ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I can't wait to read the rest of the series and see what happens to best friend Rosie next time!

i was so fortunate to receive this as an ARC in exchange for my honest review and y'all this story was so CUTE! 4/5 Stars | 4/5 Chili Peppers

****** POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD ******

in this story we meet Camille and Maverick. Cami is a runaway bride and Maverick is her brothers best friend who moonlights as her getaway driver... on a MOTORCYCLE! i'm not going to lie that gave me full on '00s romcom movie vibes and i was LIVING for it!

it's cami's wedding day and she realized her soon to be husband is trash and cannot follow through with the wedding. so she does what any sane woman would do in her position and she BOLTS (she's a runner, she's a track star). anyways, she's running and sees her car is parked in so she can't get out but ALAS, have no fear maverick is here looking scrumptious on his motorcycle to whisk her away! she decides to lay low for a beat and then he offers for her to come on his 10 day work road trip to give her some time to process and figure out next steps.

insert maverick. he is cami's brothers best friend so cami is obviously off limits but he has been harboring feelings for her since they were kids but he doesn't fully realize it until they're stuck with each other for 10 days. maverick is now a reformed playboy who has a secret crush on his best friends little sister and has abandonment issues that stem from his childhood.

they whisk away to explore these national parks and each other (how risque). the second act break up hurt my heart and a little bit of my soul but it's okay because she put it all back together. she even gave my boo boo a lil kiss, so sweet right?

i gave this 4 chili peppers because whew they sure did some exploringgggggggg! and the hammock scene?! stick a fork in me cuz ya girl is DONE!

completely random thought, rosie was the best book bestie. everyone needs a rosie in their life (cough, cough can't wait for her next book)

if you are a fan of dual pov, small town, runaway bride, friends to lovers, brothers best friend, forbidden love, and adventures pick this book up!

Review: Best Part of Me by Leanne August

Swoon. Full. Swoon. I read this out of order (lol) but I think I love this one more than the second - which is saying a lot. Something about a brother’s best friend that does me in. I loved the unashamed Camille, the one who let go and just be herself. As always, the eff-it moment is always top tier, and Mav’s internal monologue just got me. I always enjoy when he rescues her from the altar, and even more when it’s when he rides a bike doing so. The roadtrip moments also are a swoon. But what I love the absolute most is the way Mav dotes and praises Cami. I adore Leanne, and I am obsessed with the men she writes and the sassy FMCs in her books. 10/10 recommend.

ARC Review

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫/5
🌶️🌶️🌶️/5

Did this book meet my expectations? No…it surpassed them. Was I expecting cutesie banter, feel-good vibes and some good spice? Yes, yes I was. Did I get all those and more? Absofreakinglutely.

Camille is a sweetheart of a FMC. She’s the girl next door who wants to make everyone happy and avoid any drama. She spends three years with a jerk she doesn’t love, only to realize on her WEDDING DAY, that enough is enough, and she needs to start living HER life. So what does she do?
Wellll, enter Maverick Mendes aka Ladies Man Mav, who Camille has been in love with since she was 13 and who also happens to be her big brother’s best friend. 😅

Plot twist…Ladies Man Mav is a total cinnamon roll just for Camille and has been for quite some time now, but has never acted on it.

Back to Camille’s wedding day and who is there to rescue her from this torment and sweep her away in his motorcycle? No other than Maverick Mendes himself. Was it a total early 2000s rom com move? Yes, yes it was and I was totally here for it. 🙌🏼

They spend 10 glorious days on a work camping trip for Mav exploring some glorious national parks and they let themselves bask in the time they have alone and pour their very souls into every spicy scene we encounter. Mav’s insecurities of abandonment are put to the side and Camille finds herself being the one to be pleasured, in more ways than one, when she has spent so many years being the people pleaser.

There’s a second act breakup that is done so masterful, my heart was wrenched along with both of our MCs. And that bathroom scene….ooof 🥵, YASS QUEEN LEANNE, you did that for me.

If you need a good palette cleanser or some feel good vibes with a guaranteed HEA, READ THIS BOOK.

“Best Part of Me” is the second book in the Maple Ridge Series by Leanne August.

Tropes:
-Small-town
-Brother’s Best Friend
-Runaway Bride
-Road Trip
One bed or one tent

TW: Death (off page), alcohol consumption, mature explicit content, mention of cancer, child abandonment (past), people's pleasant traits.

Summary: The story revolves around a forbidden attraction between a runaway bride and her brother's best friend, Maverick Mendes. During a ten-day road trip, their connection deepens as they share secrets and explore their feelings. Despite the challenges and potential risks to friendships and reputations, they can't deny the undeniable pull toward each other. "Best Part of Me" promises a steamy romance with a happily-ever-after.

“After all this time, you still have no fücking idea what you do to me, Cammie.”

This book was enjoyable and easy to read. Camille, not wanting to marry, chose to run away, and Maverick, on his Harley, assisted her. That night at his apartment, after some drinking, Camille gathered the courage to cross a significant boundary. You can think, Wow, that was fast, but in reality, that attraction started when Camille was 13 years old and grew with time. They knew each other well, and she was in love with him. Maverick was attracted to her as well, but he couldn’t resist her and broke the pact with his best friend.

“I’ve wanted Cammie for years, but this is the first time it fucking feels like it might be possible.”

Maverick suggested to Camille that she join him on his 10-day work trip, exploring various national parks. I thoroughly enjoyed their time during the road trip, witnessing the growing tension between them. Camille’s playlists and the vivid descriptions of the parks created the perfect atmosphere for falling in love. The road trip proved to be captivating, filled with various activities, yet it was in their tent that the intensity reached its peak. The spice in the book unfolds right away; there's no need to wait. Maverick showcased not only his exceptional treatment of Camille but also his fiery passion and a tantalizing, dirty mouth during intimate moments, making him truly irresistible.

“Sunshine, when I get done with you, we won’t needing blankets.”

Maverick was known as a “ladies-man-Mav",  avoiding committed relationships since college due to deep-seated abandonment issues resulting from his parents' abandonment. To shield his heart, he refrains from engaging in long-term connections. However, with Camille entering his life, he begins to envision a long-term future with her. Despite some initial resistance from her family, they eventually accepted the couple, allowing Maverick and Camille to live authentically without the need for secrecy.

“I will cherish you, and only you. You are the best part of me.”

Maverick knew her coffee order and understood her likes and dislikes, making him the perfect boyfriend who genuinely cares for her. Camille finally found herself with the man of her dreams, shaping her future with him. Despite her unselfish nature, always putting others first, she felt stuck working with her dad. However, after her mother's passing, this became more evident, and eventually, her family comprehended her situation. Filled with love, they took the lead in managing the family hardware store.

“Sunshine, the way I can differentiate each of your smiles is a skill I feel lucky to have acquired.”

This story, beyond being a cute love tale, prompted me to reflect on the importance of caring for our happiness, as we can lose ourselves in the process. If you're a fan of these tropes, I highly recommend this quick read, and I eagerly anticipate delving into the next book in the series.

Thank you to LeAnne for trusting me with your story and sending me an eARC! What follows are my honest thoughts and opinions on Best Part of Me.

I was lucky enough to be introduced to LeAnne's first work, Come Back to Me, back in March. When the opportunity arose to apply for the chance to read Best Part of Me, I jumped!

LeAnne has a gift when writing and I like to call it the ability to hook right away. Honestly, I was invested before I started reading because I was interested in the continuation of what was happening in Maple Ridge from the novella and how it may tie-in. BUT - there is always a real possibility that you read the first few pages of a book and aren't hooked right away. Not the case here for me.

Camille and Rosie are best friend goals. What a rare gift true friendship is; these two have it in spades. I thought I sensed something between Rosie and Jones, but with that ending I could be wrong. Whichever way it goes, it's fun to speculate! PS I can't wait for Rosie's book.

Camille is such a well rounded main character. We are privy to her thoughts and what drives her as a person, and she was so relatable to me because I have also lost a parent who had high hopes for me and I am a people-pleaser to boot. I really enjoyed watching her grow over this short span of time and although Maverick had a huge part in cultivating that, she maintained a maturity and independence in her healing process that was a pleasure to witness. I also loved (in a totally petty way) how she didn't give Chris the satisfaction of truly engaging with him in that last text exchange.

Dual POV is my jam and getting to know how Maverick became who he is was *chef's kiss*. His job is kick ass and it was really interesting to see behind the scenes. An extra bonus is I don't think I've ever read a book where someone did this for a living and it was refreshing that he didn't fall into one of the typical "small town trope" occupations that most men do. I love that what he does for a living is unique and tied to something he really loves doing instead of just what most guys do when they live in a small town.

Put these two together and you have a ton of chemistry! The spice was off the charts HOT. I loved that they weren't self conscious about the inevitable camping funk and that they both embraced just doing what felt right. There is a second act dilemma that thankfully gets solved pretty quickly and the ending wrapped up so nicely but left us with a tiny cliffhanger. Did I say I'm excited for the next installment already?

You should read this book if you like dual POV, SPICE, friends to lovers, brother's best friend, small town, beautiful depictions of national parks, road trips, HEA, banter, besties who cheer each other on, and more!

💫4/5 |🌶️ 4/5 | Friends to Lovers | Brother’s Best Friend | Playboy x Good Girl | Forbidden Romance | Dual POV | Small Town

Thank you so much LeAnne August for sending me this ARC! **Please know that my review and opinions are solely my own and given freely. **

Oh my gosh, I read this in one day! Devoured. This was a great easy read with lots of delicious quips and spice. LeAnne did not hold back and went straight to the all the juicy stuff on this one. Our FMC Cammie is a runaway bride who decides that marrying her fiancé was a mistake as she felt like she was settling including the fact that she was only second to everything when it came to her him. Her childhood friend and long-time crush Mav (who happens to be his brother’s best friend) saves her and whisks her away. Instead of a one-night stand, she decides to join him on his 10-day work trip across the national parks to figure out her next step and have a whirlwind romance without her family knowing.

Cammie and Mav know that they put an expiration date on their little fling but as it happens, they’ve been pining for each other for a very long time. Feelings get involved, reservations and doubts come about. I LOVE how Mav from the very beginning was simply there for Camille. He’s known to be a playboy and that may well be in terms of not having long-term relationships, however, how he cared for Cammie was insanely panty dropping. He knew her like no other and the unraveling of his feelings for Cammie was very swoony. We also get some banter between them, and it was GOOD and sexy! I loved it!

The complexity of their relationship and them having to figure it out once they were back home didn’t make me hate the situation because it was written beautifully. There was some confrontation between Mav and Jones (Cammie’s Brother) and essentially the family on Thanksgiving when they get discovered and outed by Jones, but it was all handled maturely, and I appreciated that. The romance between our MCs was such a whirlwind that you almost forget that Cammie was a runaway bride, and I didn’t mind that all.

This was a great start to the series and I’m excited for Rosie’s story and somehow, I’m also hoping for a Jones book. Since he seems to have the same qualities as Mav, I’m sure it will be one hell of a read as well.

“You are a welcomed distraction. A breath of fucking fresh air. The plot twist I didn’t see coming but desperately needed.”

This super cute, super spicy story starts with a bride leaving her own wedding! On none other than the back of her crush’s (AKA brothers best friend) motorcycle!! I absolutely love where this story then leads, with two people who have secretly been in love with each other FOREVER, trying to hide their 10 days together from everyone, as well as hiding their feelings. You could definitely start to feel the worry yourself these two have reading these pages, or the worry of others finding out, of what happens after the 10 days, and how they will get past the heartbreak they are sure to feel?

Was anyone else holding their breath wondering when or if Jones was going to catch them together?

I LOVE Rosie!! She is the best friend every one needs! Her texts to Mav were HILARIOUS and so murderous! Love it!!

The thing about Leanne’s writing that I love so much, it is so smooth. All the words flow together so beautifully, and it’s so hard to rip my eyes from the pages. She could write a sports newspaper article and I’d read it!

Most of all, I LOVE the connections to her first novella of Maple Ridge, and the amazing characters in that story came back to life in this story. And then she goes and leaves us with that cliffhanger epilogue!!! So excited for the next one y’all!!

“Sunshine, you’re the epitome of a good girl.”

“Put a fork in me, I’m fucking done.”

Thank you LeAnne August for letting me read this super cute story for an honest review!

Cammie has had a secret crush on her childhood friend, Maverick, for as long as she could remember. Ladies’-Man Maverick also happens to be her brother’s best friend and completely off limits.

When Cammie’s relationship falls apart just moments before she walks down the aisle, she starts running and Maverick is right there to save her.

As a way to escape and regroup before she has to try to put her life back together, she decides to join Maverick on his 10-day work road trip. Now they are alone. Sharing secrets. And childhood fantasies are starting to become reality.

Cammie’s brother will certainly not approve of them being together, but we all know the heart wants what it wants.

My thoughts:

I absolutely adored this book. The attraction between the two main characters was undeniably HOT! I fell in love with Maverick instantly. It was nice to see the soft side to a bad boy. The way he cares so much about Cammie is so sweet. He has such a big heart for her, and it reminds you that not all guys are the same.

LeAnne August used the right amount of spice and romance to create such a cute story. It was easy to read and honestly so adorable.

It broke my heart to read what Cammie was going through in her relationship with her Fiancé. But I was rooting for her and Maverick so hard! I really wanted them to choose each other.

Overall I loved it! Highly recommend and I can’t wait for the next one!

2.5 ⭐️
i just wanna start this review off by saying that i do somewhat understand why many people like this book, but im just not one of those people

first off, i didn’t really connect with any of the characters because of how quickly everything was happening. one second Cammie was running away from her wedding, the next her and Maverick were sleeping together (not actual sleeping, im just not sure if goodreads allows certain words to be said without any warnings). the fact that she broke off her wedding, slept with maverick, and decided to go on a 10-day trip with him all in less than 24 hours just felt odd to me.

i also felt like there were too many smut scenes, which isn’t something that’s a usual complaint of mine, but i found that the amount of smut scenes took away from the MCs actually showing us this connection and understanding of each other that they constantly talked about. and if a smut scene wasn’t happening, there would always be some sort of mention of Maverick’s “bulge in his pants”.

now, i did really enjoy the MCs relationships with the side characters, Jones and Rosie. Jones was a bit of an asshole, but there where scenes where he really shined, and Rosie is just a queen in all ways.

and i do wanna say that although this is a best friend’s brother/brother’s best friend romance, it also felt very much like a friends to lovers, which is a trope i absolutely adore

overall, this just wasn’t my cup of tea because of the pacing, characters, and actual portrayal of the relationship. however, i wouldn’t be opposed to reading books about side characters

Runaway bride ✔️
Best friends sister ✔️
Forced proximity ✔️
Small town ✔️

Earlier this Summer I stumbled across Come To Me available as an ARC through NetGalley. I totally judged a book by its cover and requested it and discovered the small town of Maple Ridge. It’s a delightful novella that sets the stage for future books set in Maple Ridge including Best Part of Me. After having read CTM and seeing the author had opened signups for ARCs I immediately ran to sign up.

Realizing she’s about to make a huge mistake Cammie makes a run from her wedding (day of) to avoid a life with a huge douche canoe. She’s rescued by her brother’s best friend, Ladie’s Man Mav aka Maverick aka Mav.
He’s about to head out on a ten day work assignment that takes him on a road trip of national parks and offers to take Cammie along for the ride to get out of dodge. Let the passion ensue! Forced proximity, one bed/tent, sparks flying the whole way with feelings bubbling over until they’re unable to be contained.
Mav is the stuff that book bfs are made of. He’s swooney as all hell and he’s got the moves and mouth that you will desire. The spice does not disappoint and I loved watching Cammie heal from her toxic ex with Mav’s support. There’s personal growth for each of them while he’s also got some ish to work through to ensure that he’s worthy-enough for Cammie.
The side characters were enjoyable but Rosie gets a big mf’ing shoutout for her support of Cammie and her “watch your back mf’er otherwise I’ll stab you and hide the body!” She’s a whole vibe and I am soooooo excited to get her story next!
If you’re a fan of small towns then this duo will be right up your alley and balances hot chemistry, beautiful writing, and spiceeeeeee!!!!!
Thanks to @author for an opportunity to read these two gems- can’t wait for Rosie’s story!

A ten-day long secret road trip with your brother’s best friend and childhood crush after running away from your own wedding? LeAnne August provided us with that exact scenario in her new book and continuation of the Maple Ridge story - Best Part of Me - and it’s just as swoon worthy as it sounds. August’s novel is packed with adorable banter, cute nicknames and beautiful scenery. She is a pro at writing romance and spice, Maverick and Cammie’s chemistry just as enamoring as Giana and Leo’s was in her debut novella Come Back to Me. If you’re looking for a quicker romance with a good amount of spice, an inspiringly confident and spunky FMC, and a hilarious and supportive best friend, you have to check out this read. ✨

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to read this #arc because I found a new author that will be on my automatic read list! I loved Cammie and Maverick. Their story was beautiful and Leanne August did a wonderful job making the characters likeable and relatable.

Cammie has been in love with her brother’s best friend, Maverick, for years, but because he never showed any interest in her, she’s engaged to another man.

On the day of her wedding though, Cammie realizes she can’t go through with marrying her fiancé, Chris (who is a controlling jerk-so good riddance). Maverick helps her escape Chris and her family and they spend ten days together driving and camping throughout the west from one beautiful national park to the next. The authors’ descriptions of the scenery were lovely and made you feel like you were there. I had the added benefit of having visited several of the national parks referenced, and I always love a book that is set in a place I’ve actually been.

If you are a spicy romance lover, you are in luck, this story is heavy on the spice🌶️

Looking forward to reading Rosie’s story next!

I feel so honored that I was given an eArc of this book in exchange for sharing my honest thoughts about it.

Lemme just give you the rundown first:

Camille is engaged to.. well, I'll give it to you straight: an absolute douchebag. She thinks marrying him will make her family, including her deceased mom, happy. But on the day of her wedding, she realizes she can't go through with it.

So... she runs. And who picks her up outside the wedding venue? None other than her childhood crush, and brother's best friend. The guy she's been in love with for years... and the one guy who's off limits, according to a pact made with her brother.

But, that doesn't stop our girl Cammie from jumping on the back of his motorcycle and embarking on a 10 day work road trip with him instead of the honeymoon she was supposed to be going on 👀

Yes, this is as juicy as it sounds. YES, the slow burn is so damn good. Yes, I will recommend it over and over 🙌🏼💕 The banter between Camille and Mav, the tension, the buildup- all of it was just *chefs kiss*. PLEASE go read this.

4.75⭐️ Cammie needs to escape her wedding, and her knight in shining armor shows up just in time. Maverick knows he’s playing with fire, but he can’t help but try to make things better. He finds an opportunity to help her escape, and she takes it. But this seems like much more than friends on a road trip.

It’s so obvious how much these two have pined for one another since they were kids. But there’s just one problem; Cammie’s brother is Maverick’s best friend and that’s a line they swore they wouldn’t cross. Thank God they did though! These two couldn’t be more perfect for one another! My heart was breaking as their time was running out, but I couldn’t help but hope they would find a way. It wasn’t easy, but they finally realized nothing mattered more than them being together 😍 Also, all the forehead kisses made me melt!

This book is sweet, sexy, and so much fun to read! I can’t wait do read more in this town!

Title: Best Part Of Me
Rate:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice:🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
Tropes: small town romance, brothers best friend, dual pov, childhood crush,
This book follows Camille and and Maverick they have been childhood best friends who couldn’t really pursue anything other than a friend ship because Maverick is her brother best friend. Camille is in a toxic relationship with a man who think just because he comes from money that he can treat her any kind of way. On the day of their wedding Camille became a run away bride and Maverick showed up on his motorcycle and became her getaway driver. If you’re looking for a quicker romance with a good amount of spice, an inspiringly confident and spunky FMC, and a hilarious and supportive best friend, you have to check out this read‼️🤍

2.5 rounded up as I'm sure this book is a winner for a lot of people, it just missed the mark for me unfortunately.

My biggest issue is the fact that the spice was front and center and it kind of took over the storyline too much to allow for a more personal connection. They both had their reputations as the bad boy and good girl but we didn't see much of those during their time together. Cammie is supposed to be so chatty, it's one of her main personality traits, but we never get to witness this, as most of their conversations happen off-page to make way for more spice.

I really enjoyed the banter and time they spent in groups with their friends, etc, because they HAD to talk instead of acknowledge Maverick's neverending pants bulge, but sadly it just wasn't enough for me to connect with them overall.

This was just what I needed. I was having trouble latching on to a book and I just really wanted a forbidden brother's best friend and this one did the trick.

Cammie and Maverick have always been in each others lives as Maverick is Cammie's brother's best friend. She has a had a crush on him since they were kids and they were always close but he has a reputation and she was off-limits. Fast forward and she's getting married but it's all wrong.

She doesn't go through with it and Mav is the one that comes in for the rescue and then the walls really start coming down and they both start to give in to these feelings that they've had for years. A road trip ensues but they only have these 10 days until reality smacks them in the face.

It was an easy, feel-good read with swoony and spicy moments thrown in. Definitely recommend it!

This is such a good wholesome romance ♥️ I enjoyed every second of this book and even when I wasn't reading it I was thinking about Mav and Camille. Them together just makes sense. A few parts really hit close home for example, Chris spoke to Camille. Bro, Not cool. But, in more positive ways.. Rosie and Camille's friendship! Rosie reminded me of my own bestie. And the texting bubbles? *Chef's kiss* This book being dual POV added so much to it. Being able to experience the relationship and learn about both characters through their own eyes was wonderfully done and made their story better. Literally the only thing we're missing from this book is Cammie's road trip playlist 🎶

🌶️🌶️🌶️

Bonus: Sounds like there might be a lead up to a sequel and I CAN NOT wait to get my hands on it!

well, it’s safe to say i’ll be reading every single maple ridge book that leanne august puts out. i flew through come back to me (a maple ridge origin story novella) on tuesday night and then turned around and flew through best part of me (book 1) yesterday. they were that good and i’ll just be over here anxiously awaiting the rest of this series.

i loved so many aspects of this book. the dual pov - one of my favvvs. the banter between camille and maverick - perfection. their chemistry and the spice - top notch. the best friends representation between camille and rosie - reminded me a lot of me and my besties. the hurdles they have to navigate through - done so well.

if you like >>>
> dual pov
> small town romance
> brother’s best friend
> forbidden love
> runaway bride
> one tent
> road trips
> and all the spice
this book is for you! seriously, go get it NOW, and don’t forget to go ahead and add that novella to your order as well!

thank you so much to the author for an advanced copy of this book and introducing me to maple ridge!

When you find a good book, you'll know. The "Best Part of Me" by Leanne August was deflutely one of those!!

This story follows camille and her childhood crush maverick.

The chemistry between this two is so powerful, the cute, steamy banter between the two (yes please SiGN Me UP) >>>>>

She's a runaway bride who ends up spending the night at her childhoods crushes house. after that night she goes away with him for 10 days for a work trip. Everything that comes after that well ;) you'll definitely have to read !!!

This book follows:
• brothers best friends
• SPICE !!
• forbidden romance
• dual Pov

"Best Part of Me" comes out July 27!! 1 10/10 recommend !!

I LOVE Maverick and Camille. I was rooting for them since page one. I love the arc of both of them. The chemistry they have is clearly obvious and mutual. There are so many good spicy scenes! Mav definitely secured the role of my favorite book boyfriend. I, also, loved reading the dual POV between Camille and Mav. Rosie is the best friend that every person should have in their life. She was such a strong secondary character and loved her sense of humor and blunt honesty.

If you like small down, dual POV, runaway bride, brother's best friend, friends to lovers and road trips, then I would highly recommend this book!

You are a welcomed distraction. A breath of fucking fresh air. The plot twist I didn’t see coming but desperately needed.”

Best Part of Me was a super sweet and spicy read. I was instantly drawn to the connection between Cammie and Mav. Cammie was set to marry another man and Mav was there to rescue her. The attraction between the two was undeniable and HOT! The way they complimented each other was meant to be. I enjoyed all of their adventures and the text chain was hilarious. I was holding my breath waiting for Jones and her dad to find out. I did not expect it to happen the way it did, but loved the resolution. Rosie was the absolute best friend and I cannot wait to read her story!

Thank you Leanne for allowing me to be part of your ARC team for the Best Part of Me. You have written and amazing book. I fell in love with these characters add in forbidden romances and you have a book you can’t put down! The banter and chemistry between Camille and Maverick is great from their first encounter, but gets better (hello spice) when they are on a 10 day road trip. But we can’t forget about Rosie she is the BFF that everyone needs. While I loved Camille and Maverick’s story, I’m looking forward to Rosie’s story.
