After being unfairly fired from my job, I head to my family's vacation house where the quiet seclusion will give me time to figure out my next move. Fate has other plans when a snowstorm lands me—in need of care—on the doorstep of a sweet and sexy alpha. One touch from him and I know nothing will ever be the same. With the storm raging outside, another storm starts raging inside me. My heat has come early.
Mason
Catching a snow-covered omega wasn't on my agenda for the evening, but as soon as I touch him, I know he must be my fated mate. I always thought fated mates were a myth, but something about this man is making my body and heart go haywire. Does he feel it too?
Surprised by Fate is an instalove, fated mates, mpreg romance. It contains high heat and sexual content not suitable for anyone under the age of eighteen.
Really sweet happy horny fated mates omegaverse. I loved the first half. The forced heat proximity and lost in the snow trope will never get old. Took off a star Bc the plot sort of stalled for me in the last third. It became more slice of life, everyone happy and just doing their thing. Still it was a good read, I would recommend!
This is a new author for me and I loved this story. It’s sweet and very low angst. If you’re looking for a feel good story then I highly recommend this one.
I enjoyed this omegaverse novel very much. It's a low angst, sweet and fated mates story that was both beautiful and entertaining. Brandon is an omega and has just been unfairly fired from his job. He decides to spend some time outside the city, then he gets caught in a snowstorm where he meets Mason, a lonely alpha who lives close to Brandon's parents house. Mason was my weak spot from the beginning. He was an alpha, but gentle and caring with a heart bigger than the sun. Brandon had never met an alpha like that, after what happened at his former job he was reluctant to trust another but Mason was the sweetest guy on earth. Like I said, I loved Mason and his personality from the beginning. He was ashamed of his physical appearance and convinced no omega would find him attractive, but he and Brandon were fated mates and connected at a deeper level from the very beginning. I enjoyed this book so much, no drama and a HEA better than any Hallmark movie. It was easy to read, well written and the author explained and portrayed their omegaverse world perfectly. I can't wait to read the next books in the series!
I loved this book! This one is definitely character driven. It's a relaxed read, where they get a happily ever after pretty early on, and you just get to enjoy their life after they fall in love. 😍 It's perfect for cozying up with a cup of tea and a blanket and just enjoying a darling couple living their sweet lives together. ☕️ Divine! I think you should absolutely grab this book and enjoy their journey! I really hope we get more from the side characters, too, because they were so lovable and joyful to get to know! ❤️
It's been a while since I've read one of these. By these I mean one of the mainstream, typical romance. This is not a bad book, it is just..simple. Just like any other 100 mainstream romance books out there. It is nice for relaxing and not thinking. The story is not all that engaging, so one can just read without paying attention, kind of just going with the flow. Everything is insta-lust, insta-love, fated mates, alpha-omega, mpreg, babies and HAE. It is a good one for what it is, but not in terms of originality.
**I was provided an ARC of this book from the GRR for an honest review**
Sweet, low angst story about fated mates. Loved reading a story about an alpha that doesn't have the typical ripped body type, yay for alpha with belly! Better to snuggle with!
I have really enjoyed RS McKenzie’s Tales Reimagined series, so when I saw they had an omegaverse book out I knew that I had to pick it up. Brandon, a recently fired omega, is heading to his parents’ vacation home when a snowstorm hits. His car ends up in a ditch and he has to walk to find safety. He finds safety at Mason’s home. Mason turns out to be Brandon’s fated mate and they fall in love over the course of the storm.
I actually loved these two a lot. Mason was like the perfect alpha. The way he took care of Brandon after the storm as well as during his heat was so swoony. He was bashful and doted on his omega. Brandon, on the other hand, was very career driven. He loved his job as an accountant and didn’t want to give it up after having the baby. I was really glad to see that it wasn’t the typical alpha/omega stereotypes. Mason was not afraid to stay at home and take care of the baby if necessary though I loved the way he solved that issue. I am intrigued by Peter and Benji, omega friends of Brandon, and I hope that we get to see them in the future.
I loved everything about this book. I really enjoyed the instant connection between Mason and Brandon, and am glad that they were able to come together and create Zane. Brandon was a very strong and smart omega who was driven to care for himself, before he found Mason who is a strong alpha who wants to care for him. Zane also looks like Mason and Brandon is very happy about that. I was also surprised that Mason got the place for them to work at together and have the baby with them.
A super sweet omegaverse romance between sweet but assertive Mason and outspoken Brandon. I loved the snowed in one house setting that really forced these two fated mates face what they were to one another. This story does contain on page mpreg with a cute happily ever after.
3/5. Highlights may contain spoilers. Read at your own risk.
Content Warnings for book: Pregnancy, car accidents, birth
Kink: Rough sex, knotting
Very fluffy and cute omegaverse. I liked that the alpha, Mason, wasn’t a chiseled Greek God type. The fated mates came with all its instalove goodness, and there was womb-fucking which I’ve only seen in Roe Horvat’s works. I wonder if the author was inspired?
It’s kinda weird how there’s no women in the world, though. I know this is somewhat typical in omegaverse, but it was weirdly obvious in this one. Or maybe I’m just paying attention to this stuff more.
The book was good brain candy and does what it says on the tin. For me it wasn’t super in-depth but I’m not mad about that. It was a quick read and I suggest it for those who enjoy fluffy omegaverse stories.
I realized that a good part of readers don't like novels that tell the part of the story after the couple finally gets together. Well, I love it. The before, during and after.
It's good to see how couples live after going through difficult situations. After fighting so hard to be together. Not just what is told in less than half a chapter, as most of the epilogues are.
Of course, this book didn't have any major drama, other than what happened to Brandon, which led to him meeting Mason. Everything very smooth. Just the same drama that most omegaverse books have, the society that treats the Omegas as if they were nothing and inferior, and Alphas who are stupid, rude and often violent, trying to subjugate the Omegas.
"" Brandon, is fired from the accounting office where he worked, after working hard to show that he was capable and had the necessary skills to be promoted to the position he dreamed of. But his plans were thwarted because of his boss's prejudice and the boss's son-in-law's misrepresentation. After wallowing in what happened, he decides to go to an isolated house that his family owns, to rethink his life. He didn't count on being stuck in the middle of a snowstorm and having to venture out into the blizzard. When he almost loses hope of surviving, he finds Mason's house, who comes to his rescue. The two discover that they are predestined companions and everything becomes flowers and rainbows."" ""Mason is a sweet, big, fluffy Alpha. He bought his parents' house and recently moved into it. Despite having a stable career, working from home and being a good person, he doesn't believe he will find an Omega who loves him. Mason, you have self-esteem problems because of the extra volume in your belly. But everything changes when he realizes that Brandon loves him regardless of his physical shape, quite the opposite, his partner loves his cute belly.
Two birds meet your one stone. I'm on a crossing-authors-off-my-to-binge-list kick right now (bird one: R.S. McKenzie) and oddly on an omega-verse kick (bird two: Fair Falls Fated series). Stone: "Surprised By Fate." ["Brandon After being unfairly fired from my job, I head to my family's vacation house where the quiet seclusion will give me time to figure out my next move. This book was so fucking cute!!!! From the snow storm to the ice cream to the fluff and the sweetness. It was all just so...*squeals*... They were insta-in-love and fated mates for a reason. They fell for each other so quickly for a reason. They made their lives together so easily and so happily because it was meant to be. Not saying it wasn't easy, but they worked together to get over the bumps and bruises.
Surprised by Fate is a short, sweet, and steamy omegaverse romance. Throw in some fated mates action, and you have the makings of a great insta-love story.
Brandon is licking his wounds after being unjustly fired from his job, so he decides to get away to his family’s vacation home. Unfortunately, two things arrive at an inopportune time: a snowstorm … and Brandon’s heat. After his car goes off the road in the storm, Brandon winds up on the doorstep of Mason, an alpha whose touch tells him they are meant for each other. As the two recognize who they are to each other, they realize there is only one way forward: together.
This was my first read from this author, but it won’t be my last! I love a short instalove story; it just hits the spot sometimes. There is some external conflict here, but primarily this is all about sweet love and sexy times with your mate. I liked that Mason wasn’t a perfect six-pack wielding alpha, but his caring for Brandon was lovely. And Brandon was sweet but with a spine of steel — they were a perfect match.
Surprised by Fate is an Excellent, Sweet, and Adorable book. Brandon, an Omega, gets fired from his job. After wallowing in despair and depression he decides to go to his family’s vacation home. The weather takes a traumatic change and snow rolls down. After missing his road he ends up in a ditch with nowhere or no one to help him out. He grabs his stuff and walks until he sees a house with lights on. Mason has prepared everything for this crazy weather. When he answers his door there stand an almost frozen Omega. After the Omega passes out he calls his doctor friends who helps get Brandon warm. Throughout the story Brandon and Mason realize they’re meant for each other. It’s a smexy, cool, possessive, loving, sweet book. Total 5 star ⭐️ rating 💜❤️😘
Rating: 3 stars (6/10) Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️ Tropes: fated mates, omegaverse, early heat, mpreg, fluffy as all hell Review: It is probably on me and my expectations for why I didn't enjoy this as much as I thought I would. I did know there was mpreg, but I honestly didn't realise we'd spend so much time focusing on it, or on the gooey lovey-dovey relationship between these two. My previous experience with published omegaverse fiction is that it is just PWP, and honestly I was kind of just looking for that, and was happy with what we got at first, but it quickly morphed into something I was just kind of bored with. It wasn't a bad story by any means, but perhaps not exactly my cup of tea.
Brandon is unfairly fired from his job and retreats to his families cabin to lick his wounds in private. When a surprise snowstorm lands him on Mason’s doorstep in need of help their connection is immediate.
Brandon has some trust issues with alpha’s but Mason’s gentle care and patience puts him at ease. I really like squishy MC’s and Mason is like a marshmallow ❤️ This sweet, spicy story was a fun read.
I enjoyed this book, it’s super spicy, a bit of drama here and there with an adorable omega and a soft hearted alpha. The whole fated mates trope means the connection is instant and the spice is top level. Mason is very alpha in the bedroom and his dirty talk is on point! The storyline will keep you interested all the way through, my only complaint is sometimes the story didn’t flow so well on the odd occasion as it felt like the sentence was being spoken at you instead of to you. Felt like a statement as opposed to a conversation. I really loved Brandon and his empathy towards others was really endearing.
I’m definitely looking forward to more books in this series so I hope we don’t have to wait too long to revisit.
I enjoyed this sweet, quick, easy read. I just thought Brandon and Mason were so cute. I loved that Mason was bigger with a belly that Brandon absolutely loved. It’s nice to see an MC without the perfect sculpted body.
If you are looking for a sweet omegaverse fated mates story without any angst or drama you will want to check this out. This does have mpreg in it.
I would love to read about Benji and see him get the family he so very much wants!
Super cute, and my first adventure into the world of omegas and alphas. Brandon was such a sweet Omega, and I loved how protective Mason was with him. I wanted to be sure to read book one of the Fair Falls series before I dove into the ARC I received of book two, so I could familiarize myself, and I am glad that I did. It helped me better understand the characters, the community, and the author’s writing style.
Definitely spicy!!! 🥵
Loved the book, and was glad I was able to find it on Kindle Unlimited!
This book is extremely sweet - although there is plenty of heat. Brandon (the omega) ends up with Mason after hiking through a snow storm. He literally finds Mason on the worst day of his life. They know immediately that they are fated mates. As I noted before - this book is EXTREMELY sweet - but it is such a sunshiny book. Definitely recommend.
I received a free copy of this book via Indie Author Creative and am voluntarily leaving a review.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Surprised by Fate is a cozy, snowstorm-fueled omegaverse romance that dives headfirst into instalove and heat-driven intensity. Brandon and Mason have sizzling chemistry from the first touch, and the fated mates pull is both tender and primal. This is a high-heat read with all the familiar omegaverse elements—knotting, mating, mpreg—but grounded in sweetness and unexpected vulnerability. A quick, spicy escape into a wintry world of second chances and instant connection.
Sweet romance that starts this series off great. Brandon and Mason...instant chemistry...instantly recognizes themselves as mates. What I love about this romance is the forced proximity due to the snow storm. Very Hot heat sex and sweet romance throughout.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Caught in a snowstorm, Brandon makes it to a porch and collapses. Mason takes him in and looks after him. As chance would have it, they are fated mates and soon the attachment forms and before long Brandon gets pregnant. I loved when they were trying to decide on the baby's name. Think the author is a fan of Cut and Run as both Garrett and Zane were floated. A nice easy way to spend a Sunday.
I thought this book was so sweet. When Brandon loses his job, he wants to get away. But there is a snowstorm, and his car gets stuck. So he walks and ends up getting weak. He then knox on Mason's door and then proceeded to pass out. Mason takes him and gets him warm. When he wakes up and they touch they find out they are fated mates. I loved this book.
The concept of the story is good but there are too many chapters of sex. It becomes boring after awhile. Also, the author should've gotten rid of Mick and had him blacked balled from ever working again i n an accounting job. But, this never happens because the authors have to feel sorry for individuals such as Mick.
An omega gets caught in a blizzard and ends up on his fated mate's doorstep. A trope that is a bit overused, but the story is still good. There is some external drama, but the story revolves around Brandon and Mason getting to know each other and constantly coupling. It gets a bit too wordy at times, but doesn't slow down too much.
I liked this story, the characters are full, the plotline is good but I am conflicted by the erasure of women in it. I understand it is a world building choice and a good explanation for mpreg but it made everything feel off, I am not sure I am making sense really. Over all a good story will probably not reread but will read the next in the series.
