I've seen Jacquelin work with my dog and cats, and I'm convinced--both by things she told me that no one but my dog knew, and by the improved comfort and behavior of my pets--that she's the real deal. Her writing style is slightly more pedantic than her in-person explanation, but what the hell, my dog can't read!

The stories in this book are surprising but true--in fact, I referred "Jeff" to Jacquelin when his cat, "Spitfire," got out of the house and went missing. I don't think Spitfire would have survived if she hadn't given him clues to where the cat went--through a broken window into the basement crawlspace of an abandoned home several houses from where Jeff lived--she could not have jumped back up to the window. (I just visited Jeff this past week, and Spitfire is older, fatter, and has given up running off anywhere.)

And, disclosure--Jacquelin has become a friend over the years, but I'm not praising her book as a favor; I'm saying that when something's going on with my animals that I don't understand and the vet can't fix, Jacquelin is the person I call. This book is a very useful tool for helping me care for the animals I love.
