Lights Out

It all started under the City Lights of Atlanta but now it’s Lights Out.

Real, with his first lady Constance by his side was living the lifestyle of the rich and famous. Just as things were looking up, it all came to a halt. Friends turned to foes and an all out Cartel war ensued. The results were hard times in a down south Georgia prison and the death of a loved one. Now Real is released and back in the city with only one thing on his mind…REVENGE!
With a list, Real hits the streets and hunts down those responsible, saving the Cartel bosses for last. He sets his sites on B-Low, his one time right-hand man and now a major player in the game, who is going to be hard to touch.
Cash, his other partner-in-crime turned snitch, sits next to B-Low on the list. From Atlanta to Miami, Real leaves no stone unturned as he takes the city by storm, in search of the ultimate payback.

In Lights Out Real is back; however, he is not the same guy that he was prior to going to jail. He is out for revenge against all those that were against him and his lady Constance. He knows that in order to get the revenge that he is seeking he needs to be back on top and he will stop at nothing to be back on top. B-Low is doing big things in the south and truly believes he is untouchable. However, he will learn that some of the members of his crew do not know the meaning of the word "loyalty".

This book was not as good as City Lights. George Sherman Hudson is a good author; however, I don't think this was his best work. There was so much going on in this book that it was hard for me to focus on the story. There were also times when I felt that I was reading two different stories, as I didn't think they were truly connected to each other. Towards the ending I lost interest in the story as well as in the characters. I will be willing to read more from this author; however, I don't know if I will be completing the series.

Dim

With his woman and wealth gone, Real is back and has only one thing on his mind – revenge!

I enjoyed “City Lights” and expected the same with its sequel. I did not find that to be the case. A lot happened in “Lights Out,” yet not much happened. It read less like a complete story and more like simply a bridge to the next story. There was nothing for readers to anchor themselves to in this story, therefore it was hard to maintain interest. There were unresolved issues, which readers can only hope will be addressed in the third book.

One error on repeat in the book was the use of “every” instead of “ever” (every since…).

“Lights Out” wasn’t a bad book, but it certainly was not this author’s best, and in comparison to its predecessor, it falls short. I’m hoping for more with book three, “Black Out.”

Damn when is Real going to get his chance? This story seems to get better with each book. Now I'm going to check out the next book soon.

Between B-Low and Real, I definitely would not want to get into the drug game. At the top there are clubs, mini-mansions, expensive cars and more women than any one man can please. At the bottom there are prison beat downs, drug induced murders and constant surveillance by police. JP suffered a terrible fate by hiring a woman to do his job. Kelly was about to set up Real for a takedown but she survived his wrath. Nikki got hosed by Kap. It was a quick read but powerful.

In my opinion not as good as the first but lots of plot twists and turns. I hope the last book ends well....the main character has been through enough and deserves a happy ending.
