This is one of those books that I can't really give a star rating to, because it's so singular in its demographic appeal. On the surface it's a thriller about IP politics, religious zealotry, and atomic bombs, but without a base understanding of contemporary modern orthodox Jewish living, you're not going to understand a lot of what's going on. I remembered reading this when I was 12 and absolutely devouring it, but this time around it was a lot harder to get through. The writing is clunky and there are easily a half dozen more main characters than necessary, I lost track a few times. The biggest struggle I had this time around was getting past the implicit bias the reader is meant to have against Islam and the ways in which it is embedded in Israel today. Weinstock and I aren't reading the same Torah.
Ik found really amazing. This is nog the first boom that I have Read from Yair Weinstock and certainly not the last. I Love his style of writing. I do not want to five you any spoilers. I could tell you this much. It is totally unexpected, the twist it suddenly takes, the connection between Arkansas and Eli. Amazing! I highly recommend this book.
