"My family is here, Ethan. Europe is very far away."

Acceptable Sacrifices melted my heart. Max is unexpectely sweet in this book. While Ethan is straightforward and cute as always. I enjoyed the moments when they're together and Max denies himself that he doesn't fall for Ethan, he says this is just a deal, no feeling involved, even if his love towards Ethan is spilled everywhere between the pages.

"I want you to mean it! Don't tell me something you don't mean if you expect me to believe anything you've said to me in the past!"

I laughed until my stomach hurt for Max's childish thought. He doesn't know what love looks like. And Ethan makes he feel like he's the most powerful man, in the meantime, Max almost loses his temper because of an insecure situation that he can't control.

Tricia Owens is a skillful writer for making me believe that there's love happens in this book actually, not just some kind of the materials that some authors force me to do so.

I will read the next book, but so far this isn't the same masterpiece that is Juxtapose City series. I couldn't put that series down; the same magic isn't here in Sin City. Max and Ethan are just not believable characters and the actions that take place are so, so..outlandish and unrealistic. Which is saying a lot because Juxtapose city is so much more over the top, lol. :D But Juxtapose takes place in a different future reality than we live in, and Sin City lives in our same reality. That's the only explanation I can give why one series works, and the other doesn't - for ME.

I think the story is going to get even crazier as the series continues but I am prepared and I have my eye rolls ready in reserve. I give this one 3 stars. Oh, and they upped the BDSM, for those who like that. :D

Review by The Blogger Girls.

Max and Ethan are settling into their roles of keeping things professional on the job. This time around, The Elite Poole is hired by a treasure hunter for protection after they have made what could be a really big discovery.

The story with this client twists and turns a bit, and Ethan and Max try to keep up, keep safe and keep their relationship hidden. Ethan has hinted at wanting more from Max, but Max is holding steadfast to the terms of the “contract” they agreed to when Ethan came to Vegas. Ethan takes what he can get from Max for now, but it is pretty clear this will come up again in the future. Having to remain closeted, which isn’t really an issue for either of them on the outside, looks like it may eventually cause some strife on the inside. Keeping closeted from basically everyone in their lives, family, friends, co-workers, etc. has stirred feelings that can’t possibly not affect them long-term. As happy as they are with each other, Ethan has bouts of loneliness that I believe will grow out of his control. Time will tell on this front though, but I can’t wait to see how things pan out in this regard.

In the bedroom, these two are still off-the-charts hot. It is easy to see how easily and how much Max turns Ethan’s crank. Likewise, Max isn’t unaffected by Ethan either. It is just as enjoyable to see Ethan submit as it is to see Ethan get under Max’s skin. I love getting to see Max’s walls being chipped away at bit by bit. I just hope enough come down to keep Ethan content.

I’m hooked on this series and love the D/S dynamic going on here. It is refreshing to have that yet not spend time in a dungeon with all of the rules that go along with that. This installment wasn’t quite as the previous one, but it is a solid story that kept my interest to the end. My only real niggle at this point is the use of descriptions for the characters (i.e., the blond). At this point, we know he’s blond, and to be reminded has a way of pulling you out of the story each time it appears. I definitely recommend it though and look forward to jumping right into the next one.

Love this series!

So sad they haven't narrated 4-7, or if they have Audible says they aren't available, Nick J. Russo does a fantastic job!

Rating is based on the entire series (books 1-10 thus far) rather than each one individually.

Loved the series. Loved Max and Ethan. Loved the D/s relationship they've built. Loved them individually and as a couple. Yeah, loved the whole fucking enchilada.

It got even better! I have high hopes that this will keep happening!

I liked the plot in this one. Harry was an interesting side character and him being a treasure hunter was a nice change considering that is such unique job and one I don't read about a lot. I thought Lara was sweet, but Jack was a complete ass. I liked that he ruffled Ethan's feathers though. Besides all the remarks he made about Ethan's parents. That was uncool. Like I said, asshole.

Max has definitely grown. It's going slow though so he's hasn't grown that much, but he was definitely showing his softer side to Ethan in this one. It was nice to see another wall come down. He's fighting it but it's starting to become a losing battle. Which makes me extremely happy.

Ethan is like an over excited puppy. He's growing on me. I just hate when he rolls over and dismisses his feelings just to allay Max. Hopefully he gets a bit of a backbone.

Loved the secondary characters almost as much as the MCs. Harry, Jack and Lara are very interesting and I wouldn't mind them showing up in future books of this series. I loved seeing Max finally give in to his emotions. I'm looking forward to the next book!

I enjoy the humorous little moments that keep this series from being too dramatic or intense. "His imagination had just been fed crack."
Having read the series, I can say this is the most lightweight of the books, in terms of storyline or twists, but it's still good. And it begins to lay out a problem on the horizon.

3.75*

I liked this one better than number two, it had more plot and it was more emotionally driven. I can't wait to see where these two go next!

Just so good

Tricia Owens is a genius. We see Ethan and Max getting closer. There is high steam that is written artfully, the growing bond between the pair is juxtaposed masterfully with the ongoing conflict of this book in the series. The conclusion is gratifying and right on the mark. We also get to see plenty of tender moments between them which really brings out the changing nature of their relationship. I'm loving this couple and their growing closeness and ahhh. I'm gonna keep on reading!!! One of the best BSDM romances I've ever read. Plenty of heat, very good plot and amazing character development. Just so good~~~

This series has good graphic description of their love scene. Ethan is Max's sub and loves his master fiercely. Each book has its own plot where the characters develope beautifully around Ethan and Max's security firm. All stories have hot m/m BDSM scenes that will leave you emotional to say the least.
The author is new to me and I am happy that I took the plunge to read this series.
This was an easy 5 stars from me.

Wow - what a series! 11 books and some shorts. Obviously, I liked some books a little more than others but none that I didn't feel fit into the series and overall characters, which were 2 sexy, hot, likeable and lovable MC's - different but perfect for each other. Each book had it's own plot and ending and carried the story along their lives.

Another short story with and Indiana Jones type, Harry.
MM.....light BDSM.
Max gets Elite bodyguards hired by Harry, who is definitely hiding something.
This one took an unexpected turn. I did like Ethan standing up to Max some. As the submissive, Ethan keeps on getting told to not have feelings, because that isn't the relationship they have.
HEA ending

While I liked this story, I'm starting to get bored with Max and Ethan's relationship. They really haven't evolved out of their sex based relationship. I hope the following stories going into the emotional side of their relationship.

More accurately a 3.75 read. But not as good as the second one so for that reason I don’t give it 4 Stars. But definitely better than the first book. It was slow at some parts which is something I have complained in the past two books but I will continue on with the series.

Great read

Another awesome read from this series. Max has admitted to having feels for Ethan. Our boys are falling in love. I can't wait until the world finds out. The boys are giving new clients. This job seems a little dangerous. This whole series is a fun read ❤️

This one was pretty good! As Max and Ethans relationship progresses I can see the emotional attachment forming although I am still not overly fond of Max. He has room for redemption with me though.

When a treasure hunting client makes a major discovery and needs their protection, Max and Ethan take the job, unaware of the danger they will face both to their lives and to their relationship.

“Frustration seared like acid through Max’s veins. He forced both of Ethan’s wrists together so he could hold them with one hand, then grabbed a fistful of blond hair and yanked Ethan’s head back. ‘You are my pet.’”

This book was full of suspense and I was intrigued overall. I didn’t like the way Max treated Ethan overall, I mean I get the reasons for it, but it got a little old after awhile! I really like the twists and turns as I was reading the book. Good book overall!

Tricia. This Book is Great

THis book is great with a near perfect blend of mystery action sensuality and Bdsm. The book feels real and the storyline flows. I can visualize this world so clearly. The book is actually giving me ideas. The characters are well written. And the sex scenes are leg clenchingly good. I mean where's, this third book has not lost momentum. The only thing that gets me is how proper Max talks in all the time, especially in sex scenes it can take you out of it, just a bit. But at least his speech is consistent, I just wish his character would ease up a bit in formality. But this was an A+ book for me.

I really like this series(as evidenced by the fact I am reading all 9 books without reading anything in else inbetween them). Although each book deals with the same couple(Max and Ethan) none of the books(so far) have ended in a cliff hanger. Each book(I just finished book 5) has ended in a HFN and could be considered complete in itself(although if you don't read them in order you might get a little confused by some comments and actions). I recommend these books to lovers of M/M genre(BDSM / Dom-Sub included).

I knew it max!!!!! Okay had to get that out of my system. Harry, seriously after all those years you still thought they were still alive? In the Andes? And the bone headed things you did could have gotten everyone killed. Okay here comes my new pet peeve. Can we please stop referring to Ethan as the blond? It is really starting to grate on me. Other than that, I love this series and am kicking myself for letting it sit so long. But I do love to Bing read!! Off to the next one which I am a little worried about

3.5 stars, actually

I have a like/hate relationship with this series. I kind of like parts of it. There's a little bit of suspense and I keep hoping Max will break down and act human. But he's still a serious A-hole and I'm not liking Ethan for putting up with his crap. I haven't seen anything to inspire deep emotion on Ethan's part. Stupid me will keep reading to see what happens in spite of the fear it will disappoint me in the end.

Still loving the series!

Continue to see good Character growth of M. E seems to be unraveling a little which is interesting but understandable as he seems to be being re-written under the influence of the all consuming M. They both are as a result of this relationship.

Love how Vegas is the silent 3rd character in this series.

Pleasantly surprised

When I picked this book to read it wasn't what I suspected. The tale of the story about the struggle of a hidden relationship was intriguing and shocking. The characters are strong characters and the storyline is believable. I don't want to give up any of the storyline or characters. Be prepared to be surprised.
