A mafia marriage is done for two forging alliances or money. My father just sold me to my new husband for both.
How could he not, Giovanni Morelli is one of the most powerful men in the world. The head of the most feared mafia family. Filthy rich as well. It's a good marriage for a girl like me. If only I didn't steal from him all those years ago.
But that was the old me. I am a different person now. But Giovanni Morelli isn't known for his forgiveness. He can only have one motive for marrying me. Vengeance.
Publisher's This book is part of a series but it can be read as a standalone. It is an enemies to lovers, second chance romance with a guaranteed happily-ever-after.
I really love a good Mafia Romance with an Arraigned Marriage Trope, it is huge favourite of mine. This is an excellent example of one of them, it has a slight plot twist at the End followed by a HEA. I am planning on looking for more by this writer.
I enjoyed the story of Gio and Simona. But I was constantly distracted by all the typos and other errors in the book. So many grammatical errors, word choice errors, subject/verb agreement errors, etc. The text needs a good edit to make it more readable.
Simona knows that marrying Gio is good for the family, not sure how good it will be for her when she knows the man still hates her for what she did, and he definitely doesn’t want to know why. Gio sees Simona and there’s the same thing he felt for her before, but she betrayed him and betrayal can’t be forgiven and that also means he doesn’t trust her, one thing he does is want her. Simona thought it would be easy, marry him and then divorce; she should have read the contract, but she just wanted it over. Gio still gives her the same feelings that she had before, she can’t let her heart get involved, especially with how he feels about her. Gio knows that he has to stop punishing Simona for what was in the past, he needs to know what happened because he knows she’s different and she’s the girl that he wanted but never let himself have. When he finds out the truth of what really happened will he push her away or do everything to keep her.
The book started off great, until I felt like I was correcting someone’s English paper. I found 15+ typos/spelling mistakes within this book. I was going to push that aside. However, the ending irritated me. There was a build up that fell flat. When I looked to see how many pages I had left I was disappointed to see that there were just 10 pages before the book came into an end.
I would not pay 99 cents for this book. Thankful it was a free download.
Sounds harsh but it seems like the author needs to hire someone to edit her pieces, or use a software to catch errors.
The first book was a lot better and I was a lot more forgiving. 11 times the sentence is “Hell, …” and it’s infuriating. Followed by 33 grammatical mistakes. I understood in the first book, but it ruined this book entirely for me. I know it’s only human, but it kills me. I’m so sorry.
Not a bad book, however the storyline is a bit whack. Arranged marriage and he treats her like garbage, at every chance he gets until.the maybe last chapter. It was a bit hard at times to keep going cause he was that bad.
This book was an easy read with a great story and a few twists along the way! I loved how the relationship developed and how they tested and challenged eachother
Loved the book hate to love and old girlfriend stalking and fake relationship to get into the apartment when she didn’t really get beaten up more paid to do it .
