Heidi Rice's 'TIS THE SEASON TO GO SHOPPING

Amy Andrews’s ‘TIS THE SEASON FOR KISSING
A down-on-her-romantic-luck kindergarten teacher plans to drown her New Year’s Eve sorrows in a gallon of spiked eggnog, but the arrival of her best friend's sexy brother threatens to melt the snow piling up outside the tiny Vermont cabin.
Aimee Carson’s ‘TIS THE SEASON TO BE TEMPTED
After the worst year ever, a jilted music manager rings in the New Year alone, swearing off men forever. But things get complicated when her brother's best friend, the perfect man with the perfect body, tempts her to break her vow—if only for one hot night!
Amy is an award-winning, USA Today best-selling Aussie author who has written eighty-five contemporary romances in both the traditional and digital markets.
Her books bring all the feels from sass, quirk and laughter to emotional grit and panty-melting heat.
She loves good books and great booze although she'll take mediocre booze if there's nothing else. For many, many years she was a registered nurse which means she knows things. Anatomical things. And she’s not afraid to use them!
She recently took a sea change and lives by the ocean with her husband of 33 years.
Don't you just love a Christmas story? You get Santa, Three wise men, a protective male, a virgin, a baby, good will to all men. Sorry to get your hopes up but this is not that book. You do get Santa, but he's not your every day jolly old fellow. Actually skip Santa. Really it's just about the suit. And the Chief Elf. Two Chief Elfs? A lap dancing Elf? Actually just the outfit. This is really not fitting, just like the Elf costume which was way too small. There is a cute kid. Lost yet?
I was. Lost in a world of a Blizzard that traps four couples in unlikely places. Yes there are in fact four men but none of them are particularly wise, in matters of love anyway, to start with. The protective male, actually yeah there's a bit of that going around. Yes Ma'am! And considering the temperature outside it's just as well they are all particularly hot. The sort of hot that makes you wanna break all those New Years Resolutions.
I'd been anticipating this Anthology for days, because the authors are all favourites of mine. When I started, I couldn't stop. I just thought I'd read one. Get a taster. I finally dragged myself to bed at dawn after three out of four and the fourth I finished over breakfast. This is a great selection of short romances with a common theme but varied in style and story line.
I often worry about Anthologies because you get a theme and by the time you read them all they start to blend with the same old same old stuff. Or it's like that album you bought because you really loved the single and maybe you like a couple of others but the rest are Meh! Neither of those scenarios fit here. Each story sparkles with it's own unique voice and characters. Any disappointments? Well, there wasn't a virgin.
Made me smile. Made me laugh. Made me wish I was snuggled up in a department store bed whilst playing scrabble, dressed as an elf who wears Hello Kitty undies. Trust me it's in all four stories! Despite the title there's nothing cold about this read. Four great authors have worked their usual magic in this sizzling, laugh-out-loud winter warmer. Who knew kitchen utensils could be sexy? Loved it!
Baby it’s cold outside is a fun, sexy and steamy anthology by four great authors. All four stories are great and have a concurring theme. A one-night stand that just might become more, if they are willing to fight for it and believe in it. I won’t give too much away so here is my brief preview for you on these stories:
Kate Hardy's 'TIS THE SEASON TO KISS SANTA:
Mitch has been looking forward to taking over after his boss retires at the Holford PR. But he is now being asked by his boss to play Santa for at a hospice. While Mitch has done everything possible to make the right image for the firm, CJ Holford thinks that Mitch needs to show more heart, and this is his only chance for it.
Ellie has always loved Christmas. But this year she doesn’t want to be near her family and friends since they only pity her lately and she can’t stand it anymore. After learning that her godmother was having her hip replaced, she decides to go help her to go away. Now Ellie is the chief elf in the hospice where her godmother always volunteers.
But she will need more than her regular cheer to help this scrooge find the spirit of Christmas. Being snowbound might just help her get her wish.
Heidi Rice's 'TIS THE SEASON TO GO SHOPPING
Kate Braithwaite has gotten the worst possible Christmas present, an email from her long-time boyfriend breaking up with her. Now alone in New York and with no one to celebrate Christmas she decides to go into work at the department store and take her mind away from her loneliness.
Ryder Sinclair is tired from being in a war zone and a long flight. All he wants is a gift for his daughter and a bed to go to sleep. He is believed to be a playboy, but not many know what his life really involves. They all believe and think the way that his father does.
Trapped in the department storm after a blizzard hits, Kate and Ryder might just need to open up to find a way to pass the night and might find in each other the thing that was missing in their lives.
Amy Andrews’s ‘TIS THE SEASON FOR KISSING
Tamara has decided to stay locked away in her friend’s Georgia’s family cabin. It’s New Year’s eve and she doesn’t want to go to Time’s Square to celebrate with others, where there will be a lot of couples kissing, when she has no one in her life to kiss. Now as she is truly into the eggnog pitcher that Georgia left when someone is entering the cabin!
Luke has been away on deployment for nine months. After a long flight all he want is a bed to rest. But as he walks into the cabin he is attacked by a little pixie with his father’s golf club, as instincts take over and he is now holding a very soft woman when he has not been with anyone since his deployment.
Being trapped in the cabin with a snowstorm outside is not what they would like. Especially since there is only one bed and they have both been without a partner in quite a while. But Luke is 4 years younger than Tamara, and he can’t want the commitment she is looking for, or so she thinks. But Luke still has to find a way to get to the ten dates that Tamara wants before even a kiss can pass between them, can he accomplish it just in time to get the New Year kiss from her?
Aimee Carson’s ‘TIS THE SEASON TO BE TEMPTED
Wes is tired and all he wants is to sleep on the flight. But he can’t help but recognize the voice complaining a few seats back. He would probably ignore it and the panic he hears in her voice, until he realizes that she might delay the flight and get thrown off the plane. Then there is the fact that they are going to give her alcohol to help her relax, but she can’t handle her alcohol as far as he remembers.
Evie has been away from her family for ten long years and it’s taking everything in her to get on the flight that will take her back to the place she ran away from, with nothing to show for it. She has lost her boyfriend and her job.
After Evie gets drunk she tells things to Wes she had not had the courage to do ten years before. After sleeping off the alcohol for 5 hours, Evie awakens to find Wes taking care of her. But she doesn’t remember everything she told him, which Wes decides to use to his advantage and tease her after she tortured him with everything she told him. But not being able to go on to their destination due to heavy snow, Wes has rented the only hotel room available they will have to share. Can the temptation that has been hidden and brewing since their teens evolve now that they will have to share? Wes is everything that Evie ran away from, but at the same time he feels like home. She will need to have lots of courage to see this through.
If you want to read a fun and steamy novella, here you have 4 that will get you in the spirit of the season and will leave you wanting more. ☺
'Tis The Season To Kiss Santa by Kate Hardy - 5 stars - Ooooh what a great thing to have found a love on Christmas! Ellie and Mitch were strangers who worked as stand-ins at hospice and rough weather made them stuck to each other. With chemistry and passion swirled between them, love blossomed less than 24 hours! Even if there is no promises made, I liked how the two of them will try to work out what the new relationship they had together. Loved them. Even if this is fictional but they're real for me so I hope the best for them.
'Tis Season To Go Shopping by Heidi Rice - 4 stars - The story consists where situation happened in a store with lots of flirting and talk, and good sex. Kate's phobia, I felt bad for her because I knew exactly how it feels since me myself have a lot of phobias. Anyway, I liked her guy though. Ryder is so hot, loving, caring, sweet, cool, and very protective. Swooned. Smitten. Both of them have sense of humour and I enjoyed a lot their snarky verbal to each other. Couldn't resist from laughing a lot.
'Tis Season To Be Kissed - 4 stars - The opening started with Tamara in drunken haze in the morning and as I went further I laughed out loud as she did and said something really, really funny. The more reason to laugh for more when reading Luke's reaction at the same time. This one held serious sexual tension. Wow it was hot, fan-self! Both were attracted to each other but age differences, dating issues and Luke is Tamara's close friend's younger brother made things difficult for a few hours on New Year's Eve. Eventually they were cool at last, thank goodness, and had some mind blowing moments.
'Tis Season To Be Tempted - 5 stars- I liked this one, a lot. It started on plane where Evie got freaked out and there was Wes, finally met her after years didn't see each other. She was drunk and she flirted. That was fun to read. Evie sounded like spirited kind of person. She said whatever she pleased which was awesome, in my opinion. Things got a bit more interesting when they got stuck, shared a room and she turned into sexy fierce seducer, seduced poor Wes in way kinky and hot: kitchen utensils. Very naughty.
So sums up all the rates I gave to each anthologies into one, I rate this book 5 stars. The book was amazing, fine book to read on holiday, and I am looking forward to read for more books written by each authors.
Last year I ended up getting a bit addicted to Christmas anthologies, not only are they a great way to discover new (to me) authors but they are also perfect for getting little bite sized pieces of Christmas spirit. You know going in that the stories are going to be fun to read and leave you with a smile on your face and that is exactly what I got with each of the four stories in the Baby, It's Cold Outside anthology. I hadn't read books by any of these four authors before but I'm definitely going to be looking out for all of them in the future. If you're looking for a collection of sexy stories with hot heroes who are just what the heroine needs to keep the cold away then look no further - this is definitely a must read selection!
'Tis the Season to Kiss Santa by Kate Hardy (3 stars)
In this first story we meet Ellie who absolutely loves everything about Christmas and spending time with her extended family. After a nasty break up she has travelled to the other side of the world to be with her godmother who is recovering in hospital and she is quick to volunteer her services at a Children's Christmas party. Mitch is the complete opposite of Ellie, throughout his childhood Christmas was never something to look forward to and now he is more than happy to ignore that time of the year completely. He only ends up agreeing to play Santa at the Christmas party because he hopes it will get him the promotion he has spent months working towards. Can Ellie teach Mitch the real meaning of Christmas and melt his heart?
I did enjoy this story but I have to admit it was my least favourite of the four. I liked the way Mitch started to reassess his life after watching the children at the party and was pleased to see him start to warm up as he got to know Ellie. I think my main problem with the story was that the conversations between them sometimes had a bit of a stilted feel to them and it didn't always feel true to life. I also felt that they rushed into having the big chat about not being able to guarantee anything long term - they had only met that afternoon so I didn't feel like that was something they would or even should be talking about so quickly. I know that things often move quickly in a short story but it came across as particularly rushed. It was still a sweet story though but I think I'd have enjoyed it even more if it had been a longer novel where there was time to develop the relationship more slowly.
'Tis the Season to Love Shopping by Heidi Rice (4 stars)
Kate moved from London to New York for her dream job but she left her boyfriend behind and their attempts at a long distance relationship were a disaster. Lonely and miserable she decides she might as well make the most of the Christmas day quiet to catch up on her work. When she ends up getting stuck in the department store with her boss's son thanks to a sudden blizzard things quickly start to heat up between them but can she trust a playboy with her heart?
I really enjoyed this story and would love to see more of Kate and Ryder in a future book. This story really does show that you shouldn't judge people by your first impressions or rumours that you hear about them. Both Kate and Ryder completely misjudge each other but as they get to know each other better they realise how wrong they were and how much they actually have in common. I loved the idea of being trapped in a department store and just being able to wander around and take whatever you needed to make it through the night, it sounded like a lot of fun and would be even better of you had someone as hot as Ryder to pass the time with. This story had everything I look for in a romance - great chemistry, fun banter, a sexy, protective hero and a likeable heroine.
'Tis the Season to be Kissed by Amy Andrews (5 stars)
Tamara is sick of men who are only interested in one thing, she is determined that she will no longer sleep with someone unless they have at least a chance of building a future together. She's not looking for guarantees but she wants someone who is looking for the same things from life as she is so has instigated a new rule - she won't even kiss a guy until their 10th date. To escape the New Year celebrations she is spending time alone in her friend's family cabin but the last thing she expects is for her very sexy, much younger brother to arrive. Luke has recently arrived home from Afghanistan and is planning on surprising his sister, it turns out the surprise is on him when he meets her drunk but adorable friend.
Without a doubt this was my favourite story in the anthology, I had so much fun reading it and as soon as I finished I wanted to go back to the beginning and start it all over again! Tamara is the kind of girl I think most women can relate to and she had me laughing out loud at the way she drunkenly propositions Luke. Now Luke, what can I say about Luke? I guess the main thing is he was absolutely delicious! Not only is he a returning hero with an incredibly chiselled body but he is also a genuinely nice, caring guy. I want to know where I can find a Luke of my very own please. I loved the connection between Tamara and Luke, they are so obviously attracted to each other but she is determined to resist him. I really enjoyed seeing him slowly break through her defences, the way he manages to fit their first 10 dates into the space of a day was hilarious but surprisingly romantic and I'm never going to look at a game of scrabble in quite the same way again! When they finally give in to their passion it was explosive and my only disappointment was that I wasn't ready for the story to end.
'Tis the Season to be Tempted by Aimee Carson (3.5 stars)
Evie has always been the black sheep of her family, she was the wild child who wanted to go off and do her own thing while her brother and sisters were happy to tow the family line and get a good education and find a good career or at the very least marry someone who fitted the family's idea of successful. Having spent 10 years away from home travelling with her ex boyfriend and his band she hates the idea of coming home with her tail between her legs now that things have all gone wrong. Wes has been her brother's best friend since childhood, he fits her parent's idea of the perfect guy - rich, successful and the CEO of his own company - so that automatically means that Evie shouldn't be interested in him. He couldn't be more different than any guy she has dated before but in spite of that she has always felt a surprising attraction to him. When they bump into each other on the way home sparks fly and they are both forced to reconsider what they want from life.
This was another enjoyable story, Evie was terrified of flying so she gets herself into quite a state by drinking too much on the plane. Watching her proposition Wes was really funny but he found her incredibly hard to resist. When she has had time to sober up Wes takes great enjoyment at teasing her about the things she said but she turns the tables on him when she sets out to seduce him. Because the couple have known each other for so long and we get to see things from both of their points of view it was much easier to believe how quickly things progress between them. The attraction between them is intense and the way Evie sets out to get her man was great fun to watch.
If you enjoyed the movie LOVE ACTUALLY you'll love this book. Four heartwarming, sexy and playful stories by four wonderful romance authors that leave you with the promise that great things are to come for each couple. The novellas are wrapped in a lovely package and tied with a beautiful bow just for the reading. Each story had a unique voice and something special about the characters that drew me in. It takes special authors to convince this reader that meeting, liking, and getting involved with someone on short notice is possible, and believe me, I didn't doubt for one minute that each of these four couples would eventually have their happily ever after.
Also, never had such fun playing scrabble before in book #3! ;)
Tis the season, so why not read some seasonal romance?
Baby it’s cold outside is an anthology of 4 short stories - each set during the Christmas/New Years Eve period as a blizzard hits stranding each male and female together. The stories are set in a 24 hour period. I have issues with two people jumping immediately into bed for sex with very little introductions. I realise being a short story then things have to move quickly so with that in mind I judged on the plot. The first two stories were nice but the last two were not my cup of tea at all.
'Tis The Season To Kiss Santa by Kate Hardy - 5 stars 'Tis Season To Go Shopping by Heidi Rice - 4 stars 'Tis Season To Be Kissed - 2 stars 'Tis Season To Be Tempted - 1 star
If you want a book to put you in the mood, I mean holiday spirit, then this is just the anthology for you (wink, wink).
Baby It's Cold Outside is made up of four stories by four authors that center around a freak storm that sets in on the East Coast from Christmas to New Year's. That's the connecting factor and the snowed in theme makes things very interesting for these four couples and sets the stage well to make these stories work in a short amount of time. I not only loved the snowed in theme, I also loved the holiday theme using Christmas and New Year's for the stories, not just one of the holidays. It made the stories really fun to read. So overall I loved the book, I found the overall theme worked well and the authors stories worked well together in the book. Now onto the individual stories.
'Tis the Season to Kiss Santa by Kate Hardy: Ahhh a somewhat tortured hero with a bad past, a girl from England all alone for the holidays, both thrown together to do a good deed that makes your heart melt (and theirs too) and then the snow storm hits and things heat up. What a story. I'm never sure if these thrown together stories can work, but Ms. Hardy and the other authors in this anthology made these stories work. The stories may be short, but you can feel the romance come about in 'Tis the Season to Kiss Santa. And hey she had me at the beginning with the main character named Mitch which is hubby's name. Loved this story, loved the romance and the love scenes could definitely melt frosting and snow. Great story and great intro to the book.
'Tis the Season to Love Shopping by Heidi Rice: This could be my favorite. A down on her luck hard-working girl goes to work on Christmas and runs into the playboy son of the store owner and then miscommunication ensues while the blizzard rages outside. Then playtime and fun begins and not only do inhibitions fall but hearts begin to as well. I love this. Loved the characters, Ryder was amazing and not what I expected at all and Kate was too. I loved how they were together, how things played out and how things turned out. Amazing story that gives hope and love to the holiday season.
'Tis the Sesaon to be Kissed by Amy Andrews: Now this may have been one of the hottest, tied with the last story. Tamara has had a rough year and she's just looking to settle down that's why she escapes to her friend's family cabin to avoid making a mistake on New Year's Eve and all is fine until drop-dead sexy Luke shows up. Luke has just returned from Afghanistan and while he's younger than Tamara he's seen more than he should and maybe he's not just looking for a fling anymore either. Wow, strip scrabble, dirty talk, drunk on eggnog at 9am, this one is hysterical and hot all in one. I love it and love the slightly younger man angle as well. Great read wish I had more of these two, but it works out quite well the way it is told. Another great addition to this anthology.
Tis the Season to be Tempted by Aimee Carter: I love old crush stories especially when it's ones where the guy feels like he can't touch the friend's younger sister. This one is hot and involves kitchen utensils used in fun ways. Wes and Evie just work together. Wes is a great protector of Evie but it's time for him to loosen up and Evie is just the way for him to do it so when they are stuck in a hotel room together (with those kitchen utensils) lets just say things heat up in a major way. But can they work out how they feel? You'll just have to read it and see. This one has the most angst packed in it's short format and I loved it. Great story, great characters and the heat will have you wishing for a blizzard yourself. 'Tis the Season to Be Tempted is a great way to finish off this anthology.
It what is surely the anthology of the year I was swept away to two delicious Christmas nights and two very sinful New Year's night.
The book contains four short stories by Kate Hardy,Heidi Rice,Amy Andrews and Aimee Carson. It took me through the journey of self discovery, new found love,a little holiday pick me up and unexpected locations.
In the first story 'Tis the Season to Kiss Santa by Kate Hardy we meet two very different people, one who loves Christmas and one who never celebrates the holiday because of a rough childhood. The author brings the two together and one Christmas eve and sparks fly ! With the emotion the author packed into this one I could not help but cry and the true meaning of Christmas and new hope was brought home beautifully.~Trapped with Ebenezer Scrooge and bringing the Christmas spirit out in him !
The second book 'Tis the Season to Love Shopping by Heidi Rice we see two people come together in the most unexpected on locations and more than just mere sparks fly as Mrs Rice has always been able to burn up the pages ! The author not only brings the two together in spectacular fashion but also brings home the message of do not judge those whom you do not really know, take a good look at what you see inside instead of what the world is telling you. And that fear can be controlled if with the right person by your side. The passion laced into this one was scorching ! Trapped with a sexy as sin photographer and learning that there is more behind his looks !
The next one 'Tis the Season to be Kissed by Amy Andrews I was taken on the journey of two people one freshly home from the warzone and in need of a woman and one who has sworn of men and incorporated the rule of ten dates before sex in a effort to find the one. The author let's the two play all kinds of word games that made for some really fun and laughable moments that I really liked. I loved the ten various and very creative dates ,and the message of no age difference and other circumstances can keep true love apart was stunning. Long John's and Scrabble has never been sexier !
The last one 'Tis the Season to be Tempted by Aimee Carson was a very fun and delightful read. I met two very different people with the only thing in common being that they cannot keep their hands of each other. They are worlds apart personality and emotionally wise but the author certainly used that to her advantage and what follows was a message of those whom we think will never match are the ones that are truly meant to be. The straight and narrow guys are sometimes the hottest of them all !
This is was the perfect book to get you in the mood for Christmas and New Year~ a powerful and passionate holiday read !

When this request came across my inbox, I was interested as it was the Christmas season and I was looking for a good holiday anthology. And this book delivered with 4 interesting and different stories revolving around Christmas and New Years.
The first story is ‘Tis the Season to Kiss Santa. This tale follows Ellie and Mitch. Both have been asked to fill in at a Christmas party playing Santa and the helper elf at a children’s party. A freak snowstorm keeps these two together and these two lonely people end up spending Christmas together. It was an enjoyable read. It was nice to see both characters loosen up and find some happiness.
Up next is ‘Tis the Season to Go Shopping. This tale follows Ryder and Kate and takes place mostly in a department store where they are stranded by… you guessed it a freak snowstorm. Ryder is believed to be this playboy who just uses his family business to allow him to enjoy this lifestyle. Kate’s a workaholic going to the office on Christmas Eve to avoid being home alone on the holiday. This was a fun story with enough twists and turns to keep me on my toes and waiting to see what was going to happen next.
‘Tis the Season to be Kissed is the third story. In this one, we have Tamara and Luke stranded in a cabin on New Year’s Eve. Tamara is hiding out in her friend’s cabin when Luke, on leave from the military, bursts in on her pity party. This story was filled with laughs as well as some steamy moments as the younger Luke woos the older Tamara.
And the anthology ends with ‘Tis the Season to be Tempted. I think this was my least favorite, not that it was bad, just something didn’t click with me. Evie and Wes reconnect on a flight as Evie heads home for the holidays and then get stranded at a hotel near the airport (did you catch the theme of the anthology?). At any rate, there were some laughs during this story, but I just didn’t connect with the characters like I’d hoped.
Overall, I did enjoy this anthology and recommend it for light, yet spicy, holiday reading.
I feel like this book to forever to read because I read the first two stories than read a different book and than came back and read the last two. I will review them in order. Kate Hardy's 'Tis The Season To Kiss Santa I just loved this story and would give it a 4.5 star. Mitch and Ellie were very like able characters that you got to see the beginning of their love affair. I just wist there was an epilogue or that the author would write more on them or include them in other stories. Heidi Rice's 'Tis The Season To Go Shopping I love Heidi's books and this one is no different I give it five stars but I wanted an epilogue badly. Oh I just loved Ryder and Kate's budding romance because it was developed well. I wished the novella was a full book and these were just the first few chapters. I would really like more story from them. With the meeting of his daughter and so on. Amy Andrew's 'Tis the Season for Kissing I loved this story about Tamara and Luke and would give it five stars. I love the fact that she is older than him. In so many romances today the male is five plus years older than the woman but here it was reversed. I would loved to read more about them even if she decided to write Luke's sisters story (hint hint) that includes their wedding down the way. Amiee Carson's 'Tis the Season to be Tempted I really enjoyed this book but it was my least favorite of the stories but I would still give it a four star. I just really did not connect with the characters. Wes and Evie were very different and I would have liked to have seen more struggle between them. The story ended to soon for me to feel that the characters actually had their happily ever after like the others gave glances too. I feel that this novella would have made an excellent novel that showed the growth of their romance along with flashbacks. I just would have liked to have seen them together and actually feel like it would truly work.
I can't review these stories one by one! Mostly because I can't remember the authors and their titles. :)))
But each and every one of 'em has their own speciality and cuteness. But my favorite is the third one. You know, the army and a girl? Yesss, that one! Loved it!
Each one is very short and lack of angst. Understandable, especially this book's christmas romance and short novellas. But again, very refreshing and put a smile on my face. Adorable!
Recommended for you who seek light and cute stories. :))
4 sweet heartwarming novellas taking place in New York during the holidays season. 4 lovely couples finding their HEA during the festives. I particularly love Heidi Rice' s novella. Another proof why she is one of my favorite authors ( 5 stars). Amy Andrews and Aimee Carson' novellas are hot & funny (4 stars ).
Very sweet novellas..I would have liked them to be a bit longer because I wanted a bit more closure and hea...an epilogue would have done the trick to...but sweet and loving and sometimes a bit sizzling novellas...pretty good read if you want a holiday spirit..
'Tis The Season to Kiss Santa by Kate Hardy This is a cute story about a real life Ebenezer Scrooge who's dislike of Christmas changes when he volunteers as Santa at a children's hospital. Mitch and Ellie find comfort in each other while waiting out a snow storm. She's thousands of miles away from home, spending Christmas alone. And Mitch, after reassessing his view of Christmas, family and life, decides that Christmas may not be so bad after all.
An enjoyable novella. Things heat up and progress quickly between Mitch and Ellie. You have to suspend belief at how fast their relationship progresses. Overall an okay story. Rating: C
'Tis the Season to Go Shopping by Heidi Rice Kate is such a stick in the mud and is quick to judge Ryder even though she knows very little about him. I found it hard to like her in the beginning even when she showed a tiny bit of vulnerability when the power went out. She went from frightened, to grateful, then back to judgmental shrew. But she finally realizes that you can't judge a book by it's cover and when she finally lets her guard down around Ryder, sparks fly.
This novella is definitely sexy and unexpectedly sweet. I loved Ryder and Kate eventually grew on me. Rating: C+
'Tis the Season to be Kissed by Amy Andrews My favorite novella of the anthology!! Tamara is hilarious and Luke is sexy. You can't not like a heroine who gets drunk off of eggnog and propositions the hero and calls kissing a "gateway drug". Oh and there's also a game of Strip Scrabble. Tamara had me laughing out loud. I hated that the story ended so quickly. I really enjoyed it, a lot. Rating: B
'Tis the Season to be Tempted by Aimee Carson Another heroine who gets drunk and kind of makes a fool of herself. Evie hates to fly so to combat her fear, she decides to get plastered. Too bad her brother's sexy best friend is on the same flight and ends up taking care of her, after she propositions him. Evie thinks that Wes is too perfect, too smart, too everything for her.
This was another fun novella that I enjoyed. Wes and Evie have great chemistry and they have a history. So the progression of their relationship made sense. Rating: B-
Romances that brew in toy stores, snow cabins, and other christmassy locations. Each one of them covers the christmas eve, christmas day and new year scenarios. Instantaneous romances for a quick read. Carefully curated stories that don't really ring true. Jus seasonal time pass.
The h/H in these books make life decisions after what they agree would be one night stands. But the incidents that lead upto it are well written without rushing it.
