Carlisle Bay #2

Dancing by the Christmas Lights

Rate this book
Return to Carlisle Bay for a Christmas that may just bring a miracle or two

After returning to Carlisle Bay, Connecticut & rebuilding a summer romance once lost with the moonlit tide, Brady Carlisle and Olivia Shields are happier than they've ever been. All that's missing is reconnecting their families. A task only a Christmas miracle could bring. Perhaps a snowstorm and a little holiday magic may bring them all together. Although being together by circumstance rather than by choice may prove to be more salty than sweet in this coastal cove along the New England coastline. Brady wants nothing more than peace between his family, as does Olivia. When his sister, Lauren, returns to Carlisle Bay, three kids in tow, family healing becomes the Christmas wish. Lauren may be in the midst of chaos, but finding a little comfort from friends and a cute guy in a Christmas Elf costume who's now a man and not her brother's geeky friend may help cheer her up a little. She's not ready to give her heart away, but snow makes things new again, and twinkle lights give the soul hope. If her mom can find a way to reconnect, maybe there will be a start to a holiday of rebuilding and joy for the new year.

Will this become the first of many future holidays together again, or the final break of the rushing tide?

*This is book two in a duo series and is a direct continuation of Dancing by the Moonlight. *Sweet romance & a dash of family drama...what's Christmas without a little spice mixed with sugar?

Tis the season for new beginnings. Dancing by the Christmas Lights is a tale of second chances, healing hearts and of course a little romance. From past heartache to future hope, Ellington chose the perfect backdrop to mend fences and steal hearts. A delightful charmer.

Such a sweet read to get me in the Christmas spirit! I love the small town hallmark vibe, the friendships and the Christmas miracles! This book is about family and friends sticking together in good times and bad! I loved both of the Carlisle bay series!

The Carlisle Bay Duo is kind of like 2 episodes in a larger series. You should read the first book before this one. Both books end in an okay place, but there's obviously more to the story. Since Dancing by the Christmas Lights is relatively short, I actually would have liked to see it combined with Dancing by the Moonlight. Overall I'd recommend this duo to listeners looking for a light, beach-style listen.

I listened to the Audible version. Jamiy McMasters is a new narrator for me, but she did really well with the story.

I'm always swept right into the author's stories and this one is no different. A perfect Christmas novella that really needs to be a Hallmark Christmas movie! I said that with book one and this follow up brings the characters together, some family drama, second chance at love and all the feel good you expect in Christmas! You will really enjoy it. A perfect e-book gift for friends and family too!

A wonderful Christmas after all

I really enjoyed these characters again as I got to read the books back to back. Unexpected love found and rekindled relationships made this book hard to put down. Sometimes broken relationships are much more than the eye can see. They provide room for growth. Happy endings are also a plus!

Perfect!! As always, this author does a great job with the "details". I can see the scenes playing out like little movies in my head. A sweet and lovely read.

Once again, I was instantly swept up in the story thanks to Angie Ellington’s writing. I am so glad that she continued the Carlisle Bay story with a second book for these wonderful characters I’ve become so attached to. They’re all likable and realistic so much that I can picture myself with them as the story is told. I love how Ellington is perfect with describing the winter setting of this edition so that I can imagine it, even though, in N.C., we don’t get a Winter Wonderland. It had me wishing to be right in Carlisle Bay for the festive scenery. The continuation of the stories in Carlisle Bay left me feeling happy as Brady and Olivia progressed with their love and the supporting characters got their stories told also. I am always grateful for the gift of Ellington’s books and hope that maybe this won’t be the last of the beloved Carlisle Bay crew. I am thankful to the author for an ARC of this fabulous book in exchange for my honest review.

I loved this continuation in the series. It gave not only closure for the characters from the first book, but brought Lauren home during the holidays. I had wanted to read more about her & was glad the author chose to set this story at Christmas. It made it even more fun to re-read Dancing by the Moonlight to relive summer feels & then to head into the chilly winter with a warm-hearted story bringing back these beloved characters & introducing another MC. I always love this author's stories. Romantic & even sexy without having to "go there" in the book. We find romance instead, which is what I want in books!
