"People walk in and out of our lives all the time, but there are very few who we hold onto long after they’re gone. They’re the ones who impact our lives and help determine who we become."

Thank you, Lisa De Jong. She must know how much every single person who has read When It Rains will need this fairy tale like (adult version) follow up. I seriously needed this because Kate and Beau deserve the happiest happy ending more than any NA character I’ve read and all of this was made possible because of one character-someone I’ll forever remember and cherish- A_ _ _ _ who just by the mention of his name or a glimpse of his handwriting could still effortlessly turn me into a puddle.

This book wasn’t as perfect as the first but to me it provided the perfect resolutions and conclusions to all the conflicts and challenges the characters went through the first book. It allowed the reader to see the positive and inspiring character changes and developments of our MC’s. It also left a very beautiful and inspiring note to the readers that life’s most beautiful moments come after the rain.

After the Rain was a sweet follow up novella to When it Rains.

Kate is going to finally start her life. Going to college, and hopefully beginning a new chapter with the boy she’s always loved. Beau Bennett. Beau has been patiently waiting for Kate to be ready. Now that she is, we get a short little read of their relationship during college, and a little bit after.

When It Rains was one of my favorite books this year. It was so emotional, beautiful and memorable. This was a nice conclusion. It lacked a little something that the first book had . It was great to get to know the characters of the spin-off novels (Emery and Rachel). Looking forward to those. Kate and Beau were adorable together and it was nice to see their happily ever after!

I loved When It Rains! It was a wonderful told story and I highly recommend readers picking it up.

This novella on the other hand although proceeds go to an amazing cause, was dare I say just flat out boring.

description

I think Beau Bennett was if there is such a thing TOO PERFECT and had nothing unique or memorable about him. Perhaps he needed some sort of activity like track, baseball or I don’t know anything besides worshiping and swooning over Kate.

Kate was very likable as were the new characters introduced at college.

This author is truly talented but for me perhaps without Asher I never realized that Beau is a flat character.

There were definitely some sweet moments and I did enjoy visiting the characters and sharing in there hea.

”How much do you love me?”

More than I’ve ever loved anything.”

In the blurb, it states this book is a novella follow-up...think 102 pages of get-back-your-happy epilogue because you'll really need it after reading When It Rains.

I can't really say much without giving things away but suffice it to say that Kate has been able to move on. She's let her secret out to a few people and she's gotten some help...she's even moved on to college.

There's a whole lot of this...

and this...

description

and even some of this...

description

I promise you no tears in this one...just happy tears or possibly tears because it's too over the top and sappy for you! ;)

Next up (so far) are two books about couples you'll meet in this novella, Changing Forever and Living with Regret.

This was an okay novella, but again I just wasn’t a fan of the romance between Kate and Beau. I just didn’t feel it the way I expected to, and it still seemed a bit wrong that she was telling Beau that she was his forever, when she’d only recently said the same thing to Asher. I also thought that

Oh how I am sad to say this was not what I was expecting.
I absolutely freaking loved "When it Rains"!
I feel it's one of my top ten reads of 2013.

I never cried as hard as I did when I read it.
Just a truly magnificent story.
This novella was just ok for me.

I think I fell in love with Asher, without his presence, the story is dull.

Beau is a sweet guy but maybe he's just a bit TOOOOO into Kate.

I liked how "When it Rains" ended with Beau and Kate being together and that's where their story should have ended.
It was better to get just a little bit of their story as a couple than to have it described in eleven chapters.

I'm hoping the other books are about other characters and not Beau & Kate.

If you haven't read "When It Rains", do yourselves a favor and pick that one up.

I personally feel as a reader that the hardest thing to do as an author is make us fall in love with a girl and a guy when we have been made to fall in love with that same girl and another guy....its extremely difficult and something u need to tread carefully with...any slip up and it all goes tumbling down. There has to be a perfect balance btw remembering the old love, not belittling what they had and also moving forward with the new love and celebrating what they have and not comparing the old and new love...and both stories must be unique and equally powerful. I would say this author did a decent job of it...not excellent but good enough

To be honest with you...i wanted Beau for Kate, I really did esp after everything that happened...but the circumstances and the way she jst rushed back threw me in a loop...i didnt get hw she decided to go to him and i felt it was too damn soon. I wasnt really believeing them till he asked the dreaded question i was also asking in my head and she gave a sensible answer and from there i started buying what they were selling a bit. Although i didnt dig her and Ashers relationship beacuse it happened too fast...i felt they had more fire and having to do this whole thing with Beau took a whole lot of getting used to. I love that Beau understood and respected Asher and hw much he helped Kate grow but also showed that he ws a bit jealous of the fact that he(Asher) helped Kate in a way he (Beau) would have wanted to help Kate and i am glad he got over that and that Kate gave him a very good reason to trust that she wasnt jst settling with him. All in all i am very glad i got a book that allowed me see their love ans see them bask in it and be happy and i also loved Kates growth in everything

Lovely HEA of course...swoon swoon swoon😘😘😘😘

"Life's most beautiful moments come after the rain."

Don't get me wrong. I love When It Rains so much that it totally gave me a hard time moving on after reading it. But this novella-- well... It wasn't that bad, but it wasn't that good either (in my opinion).

I expected something different but you see, it was not met.

First, I had an issue with the plot. There was no real plot in this novella-- except during the last part (which was beautiful and sweet) but the rest was meh.

And although there were additional characters being introduced here (which are soon to be highlighted in the next sequels), it did not help. I was also surprised to find out that there was no real closure when it comes to Kate's feelings towards And I found out that she wasn't able to move on still... after a year of being with . (I could not judge her though).

This novella was also loaded with sex and making out and sex once more and making out again-- which was kind of exaggerating. Yes, it was sweet and romantic but I guess it was too cheesy. I could sense a clingy relationship that is kind of unhealthy.

But anyways, the ending was great and I guess that's more important. :)

3.5-4 I'm Yours Forever Stars!

So, as much as I wanted this book to make everything ok for me, it didn't. As much as I love Beau, I felt it was too soon. I know they've known each other forever, yadda yadda yadda, true love, blah blah blah, but I got a bit of whiplash. I just couldn't quit thinking of Asher enough to fully enjoy the book.

Every time his name was mentioned I wanted to cry & have a drink! :((

In this story we get a bit more happy. Kate joins Beau at the University of Iowa, and they decide to be together. They grow closer like they used to be. Kate also makes new friends and has a roommate, & comes out of her shell a little.

We finally get the Beau & Kate sexy time, and I was glad to finally see Kate able to smile again. Beau is a sweetheart, & really makes her happy. She sees him as her forever.

I thought some of it was a bit sappy, and too perfect, but overall I enjoyed it, and was glad Kate gets her prince & her happily ever after! Even though I am glad this story is over, as my heart can't take anymore, I am excited for the next 2 books in this series. I really liked Emery & Drake, & believe it or not I really do think Lisa De Jong is a fantastic writer. Book 1 was just too sad for my taste. I am hoping the next 2 aren't as heartbreaking! :D

-I've been waiting for this. I've been waiting to have her in my arms. I've been waiting to have her beautiful green eyes look at me like I look at her. I've been waiting for this girl to be mine.

-His hands run up my back as he drags my bottom lip between his teeth. He doesn't kiss me like it's our first kiss or our last...he kisses me like I'm the air he needs to breathe. And when he does, it makes me feel alive. From my head to my toes, I feel him.

-I think we all have those moments in our lives that define who we are and who we will become.

In this novella we get to see more of Beau and Kate's relationship. They were so cute together. Beau always calls Kate beautiful and how he's the luckiest man it was just sweet. Beau was just so romantic.you can tell he loved Kate.

“My only job is to make sure she always sparkles, even on our darkest days”

The only problem I had with it was that it was obviously missing something. If you've read When it Rains you'll know what I'm talking about. Things were just happening too fast for me. Overall great book.

Just so you know, I still couldn't get over with When It Rains. That letter on the first part just made me sad again.

Anyways, this is a great novella. We get glimpse of Kate and after everything that has happened, I'm happy for them. I guess they're destined for each other. They have their sweet, intimate moments and it's really nice. A part of me still , but it's time to move on. (Even if I can't... I'll get over it soon..)

I'm so glad that When It Rains has this second book 'cause just reading the prologue made me love these series and made me cry again (for remembering and missing A_ _ _ _).

I loved how the author had come up with a very nice conclusion of Kate and Beau's happy ever after, just as I expected..:)

Life's most beautiful moments comes after the rain!

That statement couldn't be more true in this story. This is a continuation from the story "When it Rains" and I am so happy Lisa gave us this short story of Beau and Kate. Here's why, when Kate ended up with Beau in "When it Rains", in the back of my mind I kept thinking, "if Asher was still around would she have ended up with Beau?" Well, Beau ask Kate that question in this book, and the answer she gave was so beautiful that it helped me see their relationship from a different angle. It also made me enjoy the two of them as a couple and enjoy their love story even more!

After everything they've been through they don't take each other for granted which ends up making their relationship stronger. With that being said i truly missed Asher! That prologue had me in tears and it reminded me how wonderful Asher was and boy did I miss him! Don't get me wrong, Beau is equally great, but Asher helped heal Kate and how he did it left a special place in my heart for him. One thing that is for sure is that Kate is one lucky character to have had two amazing men love her the way they did! I'm a little jealous of her, just kidding i have an amazing husband :)

In closing I love what the author said in her acknowledgments:
Beau and Kate will always have a special place in my heart, but Asher changed how I live my life. Never take a single moment for granted and live each day like it's your last. Lisa De Jong
I ditto that statement!!!

Looking forward to Emery and Rachel's story!!!

This was a nice dip back into Beau & Kate's life.

I especially loved Beau's POV when Kate arrives to surprise him that day.

I guess this could be considered an extended epilogue for When It Rains and I really loved being able to get more from this couple.

“Fear keeps people from doing things they want to do, and when they aren’t doing what they want to do, they’re not as happy as they could be.”

SPOILER!! If you haven’t read the first book, this story will be a bit spoiler-ish so proceed with caution.

After the Rain by Lisa De Jong was a wonderful continuation of Kate and Beau’s story! I enjoyed getting more of a perspective from Beau since he played a smaller role in the first book, but ended as a significant character when it was complete. To hear his voice in After the Rain was pure bliss!

In this second novel, we get to follow Kate and Beau immediately following the emotional storm that took place in When It Rains. This sequel is a second chance for Kate and Beau. They’ve been friends since they were five, and after Kate’s tragic experience in book one, they pursue a romance that just feels right.

Beau was a perfect balance to Kate’s stormy recovery. The love he had for her felt real and deep. I enjoyed his alpha moments because he was never overbearing and always complemented that with a hint of emotional truth. He was perfection.

“You’re the one who makes me a better person. I want to be the best for you.” ~Beau

I fell for Kate in book one, but this second installment re-cemented my feelings for this strong, yet vulnerable character. She went After the Rain was a rewarding experience. I enjoyed her honest revelations in this novel, especially when it involved her feelings for Beau.

“You loved me when I pushed you away. You loved me when I was lost. You loved me when you didn’t even know if you were going to get a chance with me. It takes true love to do that.” Kate

Overall, their story was amazing from beginning to end. Reading an epilogue is usually my favorite part of a book I truly enjoyed because I get to glimpse into the characters’ lives after their ending, so to have another installment was absolutely enjoyable.

I only rated this two stars cause she actually ended up with Beau. I started this thinking okay this should be better, no love triangle but BAM! It happens!!! The dude who raped her shows up and the guy she supposed to be with is there beating him up and this stupid, sad girl is there thinking about what Asher - learned his name, props for me! - and that he was her soulmate! Her freaking soulmate! I thought dude you're there beating up a guy for her and she mentally thinking about her dead soulmate. Sorry Beau you deserved better and I'm even more sorry that the person who created you didn't love you more to at least give you a decent female protag who yes, loved and lost but realised her lost love wasn't as deep as the love she felt for you. I don't care how many times that Kate chick said it, felt it, weaned it around her stupid head - you Beau my friend were the rebound guy and the dead boyfriend cause you can't call him ex cause they never broke up is her soulmate!

Anyways think I'm gonna re-read Twisted Perfection by Abbie Glines, no love triangles there!

She did it again!

I don't know whether to do the HAPPY dance or curl into the fetal position and cry! I choose the HAPPY dance with a sprinkling of tears. ;0)

I absolutely feel guilty for loving Beau as much as I do right in this very moment!! I never 'chose' a side after reading When it Rains because I loved them both for different reasons, but Asher had my heart. I gladly served it up to him on my e-reader platter. But OMG, Beau couldn't and I mean absofreakinglutely couldn't be more lovable....he just couldn't. I'm so completely swooning over him right now, I might just pass out!!

Thank you, Lisa for sprinkling Asher within the pages of ATR! I love him albeit, with only half my heart now (because Beau truly won the other half). He OF COURSE made me cry, but he made me smile as well.

Because this is a novella and I feel like I'd give too much away if I gave any details, this is strictly a 'feeling' review. I LOVED IT! YOU WILL LOVE IT! BUY IT, READ IT, AND SHARE IT WITH YOUR FRIENDS!!!

What a great addition to the Rain series, and just what you need to get rid of that When it Rains book hangover. Plus we get more of the Beau and Kate story. This book covers the time when Kate goes to college with Beau and how they are making things work again.

I did go back and read the last chapter of When it Rains to be prepared, however that was unnecessary as the book catches up and passes that point. We get a look inside the head of each character and learn why they think they ended up together, and how Beau actually has Asher to thank for bringing his Kate back to him.

While only a handful of books have actually made me cry, When it Rains was one of them and After the Rain has some pretty emotional parts also. The book was well written and has a fantastic epilogue. If you are a fan of When it Rains, you definitely need to catch up with Beau and Kate in this book.

I really really wanted to love this novella because the first book in the series almost shattered my heart into a million pieces -- but the reunion between these two just didn't live up to expectations. There wasn't any one thing that was bad or less than well done but something was just missing. There just didn't seem to be any sparks or special effects and I needed those to be there. There's romance and love and a happy-ever-after but it was just of the plain so-so bare bones type.

These two are just so beautiful together! All the love, devotion, emotional understanding, pain, and heartache have brought them to were they are. Oh and it is just so exquisite. I am so glad they both were able to have their Happily Ever After. Beau, Kate and their story gave me so many happy moments as well as happy tears....what a story.

I loved When It Rains but I was disappointed with this novella. We got a lot of lovey dovey stuff but it lacked the emotional impact from the first book.

The writing was choppy. It didn't flow very well. This book was used to introduce Emery's and Rachel's books.
