[NOTE: Although Witches is in the title, this series is completely wholesome, compelling, and humorous, and has nothing to do with the occult].

Well. It's somewhat oddly titled.
De (Dionne) receives an invite from one her father's exwives to come to Hawaii for a bash, but her birth mother says she can't. Cher comes up with a semi-clever scheme partially thanks to Miss Geist, her social studies teacher, and partially thanks to Josh, her exstepbrother. The scheme: to go to Hawaii as an assignment for endangered species research and awareness. The second storyline is that Cher ends up suffering amnesia when a surfing dude takes her out on his surfboard and she ends up falling off, getting thwacked in the head with it.
.... There are interesting parts in this eleventh installment of Clueless. For example, when, interestingly, Reisfield decided to pull a line out of the movie and have the "new" daddy say it again/in a parallel universe statement, just worded slightly different. "You divorce wives, not children." In the movie, the daddy said "we..." instead of "you..." I also liked the surfer dude, Lee. He seems old fashioned and someone who could've been really good for Cher, that is, if the show would've gone in a different direction than the movie without being cancelled.
There were also things I didn't like. Murray looked like a real prick in chapter 5 when he refused to take De's advice twice about asking for directions, but when Sean suggested to pull over, he took the suggestion and then HE suggested they ask for directions. Okay for him, not for her. I can't stand guys like this. At the same time, it was De's fault they got lost when she's the one who told him to make the turn, which ended up getting them lost in the first place. She doesn't take responsibility for her actions. I can't stand girls like this. This couple is borderline toxic, but they obviously love it. 🤷♂️
Reisfeld joins the ranks of authors who use "convenient writing" as a way to further the story. I felt like it was too convenient for Josh to be watching a documentary on endangered species the very day that Cher and her classmates are not only discussing it in social studies, but also when Cher is trying to come up with a plan for how Di could go to the bash. Oddly convenient...
I'm not exactly thrilled with the surfer dude storyline. He was painted by Josh as someone who had deliberately sought to hurt her, but he wasn't there. The surfer dude would've made a great character, deserving of a bigger role, but sadly, Reisfeld decided to give him a small role. Unless Lee appears in one of the following books, he's written in as someone she doesnt hear from again. He could've been this really moral character for Cher to know or fall for, but it's a missed opportunity. Then there's the title. I'm not really sure what they could've called this instead, except for possibly "True Blue Friends." I wanna give this four stars, but with with Lee's unfortunate write off, I'll give it 3 stars. Lee was really one of my favorite characters.
This is the first book in this series that I've read in 2 years. It was pretty good, but I've read better in the first nine. At least it was better than book 10 was. As a closing note, I have to disagree with Cher on one thing: the "you've got mail" ringtone from the 90s was never annoying.
