EPIC! AMAZING! HEARTBREAKING! MIRACULOUS! Those are a few words I use to describe this book! I fell in love with Zach and Alex in book one. They are an amazing loving kick ass couple. Zach adores everything about Alex! It's beautiful and sweet to read about. Then the unthinkable happens! An amazing pregnancy. Alex is pregnant with her Vampire Mates baby. It's a miracle.
The community they live in find out the demons want the babies (yep twins) a war is coming and Alex is pregnant with miracle babies and a pregnancy that is anything but normal!
This authors writing pulls you in and allows you to feel everything that's going on in the book. When I finished the book I had tears running down my face.
Great characters and story! I'm dying to get into book 2!
Just SPECTACULAR!!!! I would recommend this to every love of any and all things paranormal!

The second book in the Defender’s Blood series is an intriguing read that keeps the reader on their toes. Alex and Zach discover that not only is Alex pregnant with twins but that she’ll be giving birth sooner than they think. All does not go well and with the impending birth comes an unspeakable evil – an evil that wants just one thing. It wants the babies!
This steady paced plot keeps the reader’s on their toes with lots of suspense, action, drama and romance. The author describes the scenes with vivid imagery and details that capture the imagination and the action scenes are well orchestrated, believable and make the reader feel as if they are part of the action. The author does a great job with the timing and building the tension with lots of suspense throughout the story and the reader gets caught up in the story as the couple try to handle everything that comes with an impossible pregnancy and the upcoming battle with the demons. The characters are strong, compelling, easily related to and grab the reader’s attention from the very beginning.
The romance between Zach and Alex still burns extremely hot and the frequent sex scenes scorch the reader with a vibrant intensity that the reader can feel the couple’s passion for each other. The reader can’t help but get caught up in the drama of everything that happens to this couple as they await the birth of the twins. The story also has the romance and drama of the other couples that spice up the story and really draws the reader in making them feel as if they are part to this supernatural community and the reader goes through the emotional gambit from smiles, chuckles, tears, anger, fear and joy.
I was completely engrossed with this story from beginning to end and there was no chance of getting bored with all the intrigue and action taking place. I really like how all the characters and people from afar joined together to protect the little ones, even strangers it really captures the heart.

Downloaded this after the first book and wondered if it would be as good. Yup it def was. It was better, with a great battle in it. I just love this series!

This is one of the most exciting books I have read in a long time. That was at the end. There was a lot of love, sex and a lot of characters. You had to keep up with the relationship. The main was Zack and Alex. You grow to love these two so much your routing for them throughout the book. The friends and their mates draw the storyline pass the point of no return. There's so much going on in this book you really have to keep those pages turning.

The author did an amazing job with this book. It is extremely well written, smooth flowing and easy to read. She did a fabulous job portraying the characters, their emotions and the experiences they go through.
This book picks up where book 1 left off. If you have not read book 1, the books do need to be read in order. Alex is pregnant, by Zack. This is unheard of. Zack is a vampire and therefore cannot sire babies....right???? As you can imagine this comes as a huge shock to everyone. Zack will do whatever it takes to keep his mate safe, and now his unborn babies. Unfortunately, they soon find out that there is a threat to the babies.
This book is action packed. There were so many surprises. Once I started the book I couldn't put it down. I had to keep reading to see what was going to happen next. All I can is I am so thankful that the series is already complete and I can go straight through the series without having to wait for the next book.
If you like Vampires / Witches / Wolves / Fairies / Angels, this book has it all. It is an action packed, suspenseful paranormal romance. I highly recommend this book and series.

5 awesome stars - this book was packed with action and romance and everything else in between.
Alex is PREGNANT!!!! how the heck did that happen????
Well I have some suspicions that 'divine interventions' were involved, as since Alex's Lineage have an important role in the balance of good and evil, Alex being bonded to a vamp would have put a bit of a kibosh on the next generation of Defenders so to speak!!
If you are a fan of books that have Vampires and Shifters, wolves and Angels you are going to love the 'Defenders Blood Series' .
I do not want to give much away you should do like I did and enjoy the story as it develops.
As the title and synopsis suggest, we have a Birth and a Battle to look forward to in this book, and boy there are some tense moments, and a few tears will be had.
Battles have losses on both sides, and it will be a bloody battle.
Will Alex and Zach manage to keep Alex safe from harm from the Demon forces that are out to snatch Alex?
The book does end with a dramatic scene - but the good news is you can grab book 3 to find out what happens next! Currently there are 8 books in the series all ready for us to read.
I am enjoying every book so far.

Needs so much more then a 5 star review!!
I received this book as a gift, I will give a honest review but I may let a few spoilers past in my review which is rare!
Let, see this is book 2 in the Defender's Blood, so read part 1 as you will miss sooo much if you do not. As you know Alex is now carrying babies. Twins and the town is under attack.. The scenes the changes in the people and oh my are so life like that it is amazing. My mind could see this .. the growth of the babies, Michael the angel sneaking in to get a peek at Alex. The prepping for a war. angels coming to asst in said war.
All I can say is this is a in depth look at vamps, witches, wolves and humans. It is absolutely amazing the words this author is able to put together to make me sit in my seat, miss sleep.. miss my coffee (and I do not miss my coffee) so I can finish this book! She takes you on a ride into a world you wish was real, brings it to life just for your eyes only!! So pick up the set and read it .. then re read it at a later date!! Needs so much more then a 5 star review!!

Book 2 in this series. We follow Alex and Zach as they learn Alex is pregnant. Wait what a Vampire can not sire a child or in this case twins. Seems the Big guy upstairs has more in store for Alex and Zach and their twins. Angel Michael not that one, another with same name, is as cryptic as ever and will just make you nash your teeth together as he does with Alex and Zach. Along the way we will meet others of Unity and their stories will become entwined with Zach and Alex.
This pregnancy is one for the books tho up to the birthing.
I was all over the place with emotions. I read and read and read, I couldn't put this book down. A.K. Michaels has a way of telling a story that will grab you buy the heart and never let go. This is a Dark Fantasy and not for the squeamish.
I am glad I came into this series with 1-6 done as I couldn't stop to review, I had to read each book as fast as I could click on it!

Wow this series just gets more exciting. Alex and Zach are overcome with emotions after they hear what Doctor David has to tell them as to why Alex has been so sick. The issue now is no one has ever heard of it ever happening not even Michael the angel who gets under Zach’s last nerve. He does give them a warning however and now its all hands on deck to keep Alex safe.
Why do the demons still want Alex?
Can Zach and the others keep her safe?
Loved this one and can’t read more in this series. I love all the different paranormal creatures we get in this book.

Good thing I have the third book in the series ready to go!

OMG!! I literally just finished and it was so amazing, I had to leave my review NOW!! Give me a minute though, I have to finish cleaning the tears from my face! This book was so action packed and emotional that I couldn't put it down. Zach and Alex are so amazing together and their love is so awe inspiring! The characters that came together in this book is just crazy! Werewolves, witches, vampires, mages and even angels, and I have fallen in love with every single on of them. Especially Duncan, Dimitri, Vlad and Scott, along with their mates!! The scenes for this were heart retching, heart breaking, but also uplifting and hilarious!!! I hope all goes well in the next installment, for Alex and Zach, but also for the babes and the other characters I have fallen in love with!!!

The 2nd book to this series and WOW!! This book kept me on the edge of my seat and saying a lot of OMG's. I loved reading about Alex pregnancy and how different it turns out to be. You learn how strong Alex is and the strength of all the characters. With danger on the way the town and the other community rally together for their own and it's amazing to read. There's something for everyone in this book vamps, wolfs, demons, angels and of course love and sex. I can't wait to find out what happens next because this does have a true cliff hanger but the next book is ready to read. AK Michaels once again wrote an amazing story!

Finding out Alex and are having a baby comes as quite the shock. Just when they start to accept it, other concerns creep up. This book really brings in some of the other characters and they were well written and 'real'. I was really glad to get to know more of their stories and can't wait to start the next book! There was a point where I was like "is something going to happen", then omg did it ever! I wasn't expecting THAT to happen, that's for sure! The second part of this book was definitely full of emotional situations, out of the blue problems, gory details, and I couldn't put it down! And wow did it leave you wanting to jump right into the next book!

Alex is pregnant, even though vampires are supposedly sterile. This is a very special pregnancy, and Zack is spoiling Alex outrageously. Anything and everything she wants, she gets. Until they are warned that something is coming after her. The whole town of Unity come together to protect her. This could be all out war.
This is an exciting story, with Alex learning a lot about what being mated to a very sexy vampire means. There are some very scary scenes and we have a lot of old friends to worry about when the fighting starts. Our author has been a bit mean and left us with a cliff hanger. Good job i have the next book waiting. I still want to live in Unity.

OMG the suspense, the terror
This is one of the most exciting books I have read in a long time. That was at the end. There was a lot of love, sex and a lot of characters. You had to keep up with the relationship. Riveting!!!
God I am still having butterflies from this story and now I have to write the review before moving to the next one...Tell you what the last few chapters of the book leave you on the seat of you pants wondering what was going to happen. The choice given makes you cry and want to throw the book, but you can't cause you just have too know.
These are the books that people want to read. The up and down drama leaving you wanting to move on to the next book. Everyone should love books like this and I promise you that reading this series will not leave you disappointed. Way to Go Ava!!!!

Wow totally amazing. Be prepared to be taken on one hell of an emotional roller coaster, I'm so glad I have the complete series on my kindle so I can just carry on reading without waiting, because I think I would go crazy not knowing what happens next because when I finished reading this book I just sat still with one word running through my head, NOOOOOO repeatedly over & over. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would.

For Zach and Alex, the drama never stops! Except, of course, during the ultra steamy love scenes... Bri has a vision of demon and human hordes coming for Alex and her progeny. Major steps are taken, and many men recruited, but will it be enough? Extremely suspenseful, and masterfully erotic, this second book in the series has surpassed my expectations! Twisty plots and a major cliffhanger at the end, leave me breathlessly anticipating the next book.

I book one I fell in longevity Zach. And in this book I felt all his feelings and emotions.
I love how ALL the supernatural worked together in this series. I also love how faith was brought into it. But as usual Ava has my emotions on overdrive and I have to start the next book. I can't wait.

I really enjoyed this story. I finally got a real feel for Zach, he is thoughtful and considerate and totally in love with Alexina. Alexina is completely captivated with Zach, he is her whole world. There is a lot going on in this book and it is very exciting. Alex has a gift for helping other people and in this book she really saves the day for her good friend Irina. Great, easy read.

This has been my new book series and I can't get enough! Between the fighting and steamy scenes it has everything I could hope for. Alex and Zack are about to be patents! But things get out of hand. I don't want to give anything away but I freaked out at the end. I love this series. I can't get enough!
