I learned about situation management from this book by Crosby. I don't remember much about that year. I remember these strategies transformed my experiences, my rehabilitation, my attitudes. It gave me a simple structure for figuring out how to get out of holes and how to alter patterns of behavior with logic, not psychology or medicine. The trick was to turn it around and instead of using it to turn negative to positive, I began to learn how to recreate my life after being hit by an 18 wheeler. A friend read it to me and let me catch up, underlining, and stuck around while I applied it to make the things that worked even better. Then to make the better greater than I had imagined. These were small steps, getting well, but oh, they were great steps.
