Hidden Powers
Fifteen-year-old Zoey Reid’s life gets turned upside down when her dad dies of cancer.
Before Zoey’s dad passes away, he asks Zoey to make him a promise. He wants her to convince her mom to move back in with her grandmother and for Zoey to find Logan, a boy from her childhood.
A boy who she doesn’t remember.
Zoey doesn’t understand her dad’s dying wish, but she respectfully follows his request. Zoey and her mom travel across the country from their small town in Oregon to her mom’s childhood home and Zoey’s birthplace, a suburb of New Jersey.
To Zoey’s surprise, Logan lives in the house next door to her grandmother. As soon as Zoey and Logan meet, sparks fly. Quickly, these two realize there are secrets about their past that have been long hidden. They take a dangerous journey and uncover many surprises about themselves, finding other kids like them. In order to protect themselves and their new friends, they have to engage in a life-threatening mission to keep safe and hide their secret.
However, in the end, sacrifices will have to be made.

Great lovable characters that the reader can connect with. I loved the interaction between these teenage characters. I loved the way they went about solving the mystery of where their powers came from.

I really enjoyed this! It was a nice simple read…I enjoyed the story and the young characters in it. Going to check if there is another follow up!

A coming of age story for several youths with powers. Very sappy story. The characters can be identified with but they are all one-dimensional, the villain is a straightforward piece of cardboard and is insanely motivated. The MC has no or mistaken morals in applying her mind-controlling abilities and has no wisdom. Read Kindle book using Alexa audio asset. Purchased on January 30, 2024, from Amazon for free.
