This is the third - and presumably last - of the Miles Edwulfson trilogy (I guess).......it came out in 2023 with no publicity and after discovering it while playing around on Amazon (it was under "Because you read..." - one of those reminders), it seemed only natural I should pick it up and finish the trilogy, even though it was December, 2024. Did I mention, no publicity and it definitely wasn't listed on those elitist "Books You Must Read" lists from anyone?

Something is going to happen on Martinmas which is one of those early Christian holidays - I have no idea if it's still observed or not - never heard of it before. And that's the main thrust of the book, what's going to happen, who's behind it (surprise!), is the king in danger, or is it a plot to get rid of Miles by his old nemesis Galon? If you've read the first two installments, you know who these characters are. If not, you should probably check the first two before delving into this one. As it was, since it had been a couple of years, I had to go back and check out some facts before moving on.

Enough action to keep the action junkie happy and enough surprises to keep you guessing as to what's going on. Entertaining, and reads fast.

As in the first two books, there was too much gore for my liking. Too much reality perhaps. But the characters are so strong and so entertaining. I found myself wondering if the plot was based on a historical event. It seemed real enough to be.

Great yarn

I really enjoyed this series. The details on life in the 12th century are fascinating. The plot twists are fun and entertaining. The author only extends plots armor so far...so be careful which characters you bond with!

Supremely good!

This is the third book in the Miles Results on series. All three were excellent stories. Once I read the first book I could not put them down. Great characters and plot.

An entertaining read

The story was well written and it held the readers interest . The story was a bit slow at the beginning with many sub plots .
