De tovenaar van Oz. Dit boek is een klassieker uit de literatuur,vrij navertelt door Geronimo Silton(de schrijver).Boordevol kleurrijke illustratie.Het verhaal is zeer avontuurlijk en sprookjesachtig.Het gaat over een meisje die allemaal vrienden tegen komt die allemaal iets willen/nodig hebben en zij ook daarom gaan ze naar de tovenaar van Oz. maar als ze er zijn dat is er een hele plottwist.Door die plottwist is het ook heel spannend boek.

eigenlijk gewoon een retelling van the wizard of oz maar dan met muizen in de hoofdrol.
zo tegenstrijdig ook als je kijkt naar de traumatische dingen die zich op de set van de film afspeelden.

Purchased a copy as this was such a good fit for Miss 5. She loves the story of The Wizard of Oz and I'd been struggling to find a mid-point between a long picture book version and the original novel. This full colour adaptation stays remarkably close to the story (there are a few deviations such as the Queen of the Field Mice becoming Queen of the Wild Rabbits) with the advantage of funky coloured font use for various words on the page and double-page illustrations.
Miss 5 and I like to explore different books and authors at the library, sometimes around particular topics or themes. We try to get different ones out every week or so; it's fun for both of us to have the variety and to look at a mix of new & favourite authors.

ik vond dit boek erg goed ik heb dit boek al eerder voorgelezen in mijn voorgaande stages en dit werd erg goed ontvangen. het mooie aan dit boek vind ik dat het op de stijl geschreven is van de geronimo stilton serie maar wel de rode draad van het verhaal van L. Frank Baum bevat.

libro pieno di sorprese, sorrisi ed emozioni che mi riportano indietro nel tempo. mi è stato tanto utile leggere. mi è piaciuta tanto la storia e i temi che vengono trattati. un racconto di fantasia molto originale e comprensibile per i bambini più piccoli.

My oldest really enjoyed listening to this and loved sounding out the colored words in this book. Stilton did it again. Makes reading magical.

Het verhaal gaat over Dorothy, een muizenmeisje uit Kansas. Als er op een dag twee tornado's tegelijk langs haar boerderij komen, vliegt Dorothy met huis en al de lucht in. Ze landt in een vreemd land: Het land van Oz. Gelukkig is haar hondje Toto bij haar.
In het land van Oz woont een machtige tovenaar en in iedere windstreek woont een heks. Twee slechte en twee goede. Eén van de heksen is verslagen op het moment dat het huis van Dorothy na de storm op haar terecht kwam. Alleen haar zilveren schoentjes bleven achter.
Op die schoentjes gaat Dorothy op pad.
Onderweg komt ze vijanden tegen, maar ontmoet ze ook drie goede vrienden. De vogelverschrikker, de blikken houthakker en de laffe leeuw. Alledrie gaan ze met haar mee naar de tovenaar van Oz. Dorothy wil dat de tovenaar haar de weg naar huis wijst, de vogelverschrikker wil graag verstand, de blikken houthakker een hart en de laffe leeuw moed.
Onderweg blijkt al snel dat ze dat eigenlijk allemaal al hebben, zonder dat ze het zelf beseffen.
De tovenaar van Oz wil hen alleen geven wat ze willen als ze de laatste slechte heks verslaan. Het lijkt een onmogelijke opgave, maar samen staan de vrienden sterk.

The same story with "mouse" inserted here and there, and the standard Geronimo Stilton colours and drawings. Cute, but nothing special.

This is a classic American fairytale about a girl named Dorothy and her journey to Oz, trying to find her way home because a tornado blew her and her dog away to a faraway land. These two books are similar because both of the girls were slowed down by a field of flowers, which made them sleepy.

My favorite part of this book was when mouse Dorthy met Tin Man because I got really excited to see what happened next. It’s about Dorthy getting her silver shoes back from The Evil Witch Of All !

Very nice artwork, though basically making Dorothy a mouse and re-telling the story verbatim seemed a little lazy.
