Imagine someone offering you millions of dollars to solve a simple secret code. Would you try to solve it in your spare time...or postpone everything in your life to find the solution? Return To Violet is a startling story about someone faced with just such a dilemma. Brock Manion is a talented graphic artist living on the Southern California coast. After graduating from UCSD, his life is fueled by two dangerous passions—surfing big waves and racing a 300-mph jet dragster. Among the male members of his family, the courage to perform death-defying acts seemed to be genetic—something built into their DNA. The allure of danger led them to take risks for the simple reward of an adrenalin rush. However, possessing an extra Y-chromosome does not provide the type of courage needed when confronted with a spiritual dilemma. The story illuminates the art of forgiveness, and how it can affect the hearts and lives of those who least expect it. Return To Violet is a novel that offers adventure, humor, passion–and perhaps a little enlightenment.
What a great story - this book was a delight to read from beginning to end! I highlighted so many places to go back and re-read and to ponder. The book is well written and one that I did not want to put down. I appreciate the way that all details came together with no loose ends united.
I only made it to chapter 6 before I put it down. It may actually be a good book for someone else. I almost set it down at the first page, but I loved the cover and description. However I just couldn't get into this no matter how hard I tried. It was just to slow for me.
Although it seemed somewhat too wordy in the depth of the details, the story line was good with lots of lessons to learn thrown in. I wrote down several quotes from the book to which I will refer from time to time.
