They’re circling us like vultures, waiting for us to fall.
Gripped by grief at the impending loss of my old man, a club president on his deathbed, rival clubs, once loyal, now test boundaries, searching for cracks in the Northern Kings’ strength. With the return of the Bloody Hand on British soil, a crimson warning for us all, the alliance is getting twitchy. The only certainty in all of this is war - the only question when the first shot will be fired.
But in the middle of these dark days, she is a ray of light. A beautiful distraction.
Emmie
Tiny. Nervous. And far too young for me.
Yet she has battles of her own – a past that won’t let her go. But I’ll swear my allegiance to her – to the one person who sees me for what I truly am.
However, getting close to her is like playing with fire, a dangerous game that threatens to consume us both. She's a weakness, a vulnerability they'll exploit without hesitation, and I may well become the Grim Reaper knocking at her door.
Nik Terry loves to write thrilling stories of strong, stubborn heroines and dark and dangerous men, her love of a ‘bad boy’ fuelled by Spike rather than Angel (until Angel lost his soul of course).
Having grown-up in the north east of England she is mum to two feisty girls, wife to a hugely supportive husband without whom, her childhood writing dreams would never have come to life, and is a slave to two cats and three ponies.
After pony club with the kids and dressage and between reading and writing, Nik loves to snuggle up with her husband, prosecco and a good movie; translate good to mean 80s/90s action movies or anything involving Marvel Comic’s Thor.

Great story that was a pretty difficult read at times. The FMC has endured a lot and it was wonderful to see her obtain everything she deserved. I thought there were a couple plot threads IRT the kiddos that were left unanswered, but overall, a really great story that was fast paced with a lot of action.
Indie can be read as a standalone, best best enjoyed when read in series order due to overarching story arcs. It does end on a soft series cliffy. Can't wait to read Fury!
I was looking forward to this next book in the Northern Kings series and it certainly didn’t disappoint. This author has so much detail weaved into the story that you really get a complete picture of the characters and locations throughout the book. Indie and Emmie's story was quite a sweet one even though the topic's and situations were a little dark at times. It's an emotional story that builds on the first book as we learn more about this MC and the interesting characters who are the members. I can't wait to read book 3 and see what's going to happen next!!
Excellent. Gritty yet not too dark. No OTT drama and cliche tropes that usually end up in these MC books. Characters felt real. So real that I needed to take breaks in reading this because their lives were stressing me out! Loved that it was set in the UK with lots of local detail. Also appreciated that Emmie was insecure in her body after having two kids but Indie helped her see her beauty. Great read. Looking forward to reading next in the series.
Indie is the VP of the Northern Kings and is book 2 in this series. It's a great age gap story with all the feels. His and Emmie's journey is emotional and has you gripping the edge of your seat in anger one minute and swooning the next. An absolute must read!
This is an interesting read. A sweet struggling mom of 2 meets an older alpha biker. This book was hard to put down. I learned some history of England. I can't wait until the next book comes out.
Well this one really was a dozzy. Full of pain certainly for these two not just to them personally but publicly too. Emmie is strong and brave, filled with a beauty like most women she doesn’t see. However with hope Indie will help her see for herself. Indie faced so much, hurts deeply but is afraid to show it hopefully with Emmie he learns to truly feel. Can’t wait for the next instalment
