I love reading in general, but there's something special about horror anthologies/short stories to me. There's a sure shot that you're going to bump into a hidden gem, and that's exactly what happened when I read Apprehension: A Collection of Nightmares by author Justin Hamelin.
This collection consists of five different short stories.
Without giving too much away, I'll give a short (very vague) synopsis.

1- Sick Love Potion: What would you do for love? How far will you go? I can't help but think of the song lyrics "I'd do anything for love, but I won't do that" Seriously, this story was crazy and made me feel for the MC. If it sounds too good to be true. That means it is!
2- The Birthday Boy:
What if you had the power to get what you wished for every birthday? Be careful what you wish for!
3- Forget Me Not: This story was written beautifully! It was immersive. Dark and moody. Love is everlasting!
4- Milk Teeth: Do you remember the high anticipation of loosing your first tooth? Or the dollar signs in your eyes as you're awaiting the arrival of The Tooth Fairy? What if IT is not what you were expecting? This story was CREEPY and I LOVED every minute of it!
5- Where There's Smoke, There's Fire: "Well would you like at that." This story gave me The Twilight Zones vibes. There's a moral to the story with a wicked snarky bad ass.

I thoroughly enjoyed each and everyone of these, but my standouts were Forget Me Not, Milk Teeth, and Where There's Smoke, There's Fire. I'm a die hard horror fan, so I don't scare very easily, but Milk Teeth had me running for the lights!
If you find yourself in a reading slump, or bored with your current read, I highly suggest checking this collection out!

A thoroughly entertaining little collection of short stories that deliver not only a delightfully eerie atmosphere and relatable, real characters, but also a few life lessons! How far would you go for love? Are the secrets you're keeping ever truly secrets? Are you certain that birthday wish is actually what you desire?
Some true gems in this collection of nightmares! I'd read Milk Teeth with the lights on, just saying...

A love potion that works to well. A man who always gets his birthday wish. No matter what. Who placed a dead man's favorite flowers on the table? What does the tooth fairy really look like? What if you see it? A man's car runs out of gas the stranger he meets knows things he shouldn't. These tales lead you into a world of chilling Nightmares.
