Grandma Takes A Lover
A Rita Hayworth look-alike, Adela Queen Harper is small town Ivy Log, Georgia’s most talked about grandmother. The town folk spend their time gossiping about the stunning beauty's every move. Why would such a beautiful woman live her life without a handsome man at her side? The prim ladies of The Church suspect she has a hidden lover in the upstairs bedroom of her house on Mulberry Street. More intriguing still, she disappears for at least four weeks in the fall of each year, supposedly enjoying time alone at her lake cottage. Gossip becomes even more rampant when, after forty years, handsome recluse Frank Carberry returns to the Carberry mansion on Nottely Lake. Only a short distance away from the grand house, across a white picket fence, sits Adela’s cottage, where the lovely widow tends her roses and ignores her surly neighbor. Adela and Frank's pasts surge to the surface when secrets are revealed about a love affair betwen their grandparents fifty years ago and the discovery that Adela's small cottage was their love nest. Come along with Adela and Frank as they discover it’s never too late for love or lust. “Grandma Takes A Lover” – story about two people whose romance proves that passion is ageless.

Amazing!
What a book! its like reading a book of poems within a story. If you love poetry,, romance, the draw of true love, this book is a must read!
"rain dripped off her chin and a breeze carried the smell of wet leaves to her nostrils. From across the lake, the loud rattling call of a kingfisher skimmed across the water and broke the silence of dusk".
"raised her eyebrows into her lined forehead where freckles banded together into miniature shapes resembling the constellations. Their arrangement across her cheeks caused one to ponder the possibilities of a hidden message in the dots and dashes".
The author's characters draw you in and you live the life with them.
"The absence of love in Frank’s heart did not begin in the places that stripped him of his identity and led him into a subversive life. It began when he was ten-years old and watching his grandfather ride up the mountain, leaving him forever".
Paula, the "mean" character draws you in with her passion, the bad and the good.
"Her reputation for gossip was well known. He felt excitement furrow the back of his neck. Gossiping with Paula Jennings was as good as homemade wine".
Then, there's Adela, she takes you over and fills you with her story. The memories, the love the loss and the renewal of life and love. Again, A MUST READ.

Can’t stomach anything past page 47. The author keeps repeating the same stuff over and over. I can’t stand over 200 pages of this!
