EmmaI was stuck in the after. After I’d met him. After those two lines appeared on the test. After I had to make a choice, I would live with forever. But then he found out and took the choice from me. Now, I was bound to a monster. MatteoI shouldn’t have touched her. But I couldn’t help myself. She was a weakness, an addiction I couldn’t ignore. Then, I found out that my moment of weakness created a life. Now, I would break every rule I set for myself. Every line I swore I wouldn’t cross to keep her safe. Even if she hated me for it. She didn’t know it yet, but she was going to be mine. Forever.
Bound' is the second in a duet that ends with an HEA. The duet starts with 'Detached. ' Neither can be read as a stand-alone. It is a dark romance and will not be to everyone's liking. Please check the author's note for content warnings.
Jayla lives in Southeast Michigan with her husband and young son. She writes steamy romance. When she's not writing you can find her hiding behind her kindle or streaming the latest rom-com.
“Okay, sole mio.” I grasped her hand before she could walk away. Bringing her wedding ring to my lips, I kissed it. She might not know what it meant, but my men did. They kissed my ring in a sign of respect. In a show of power. And now I kissed hers."
I love when the guy falls first and harder. I wanted a little more show of the romance but it was still satisfactory. I just want more at this point.
Bound by Jayla Talbot picks up right where Detached left off, diving back into the complicated and intense relationship between Emma and Matteo. If you were left wanting more after the cliffhanger in the first book, Bound gives you just that. Emma and Matteo continue to navigate their emotional ups and downs, filled with passion and plenty of personal struggles. Their chemistry is still electric, but you might notice some repetition in the challenges they face, with more emotional baggage added to the mix.
While the plot brings some much-needed resolution, it does feel a bit predictable at times, and the pacing slows down in places. It’s not a bad read, but it doesn’t take the story in any particularly fresh directions. That being said, if you enjoyed the first book, you’ll likely find Bound satisfying as a continuation of Emma and Matteo’s journey.
The spice level remains at a 3/5—there’s enough heat to keep things interesting, but it doesn’t overpower the emotional aspects of the story. Overall, Bound is a solid follow-up, giving fans of the series more of what they’re looking for without taking things to the next level.
I’d give this one a 3/5 stars—it’s a comfortable, easy, and enjoyable read. While it may not blow you away, it delivers a satisfying continuation of the story for anyone who’s invested in Emma and Matteo’s journey. If you’re into dark romance with a strong emotional core and some steamy moments, you’ll likely enjoy this one.
Matteo was so sweet. I loved what he tried to do for Emma, but unfortunately, it hurt her, and he tried his best to fix things between them. He did a lot of groveling for her. And it did take some time for her to trust him again fully.
There were toxic traits at the beginning of this book, which is Matteo’s fault. But at the end of the day, they created a bond and found a place in their hearts to love and trust each other.
This is another one I highly recommend, especially if you want to continue and finish the story between Matteo and Emma.
- Is someone dead? - ...no, but - - Is someone about to be? - no, there's - - Then get out before that chanches.
OH MY GOD! I lost it the moment I read it. Like totally :D
and special love to Ethan, this tough motherf%cker who was not only a protector, but "You don't get it, boss lady. You can have whatever you want. Good people deserve good things" and I just HIM, he's a nice guy.
but book with an open final, so there is no end...
All these stories are basically the same. She hates him but she can't control herself when he touches her. Seriously do these women have no control over their minds and bodies. The least the author could do is get some new lines. Example you wouldn't dare, you like what you see, tell me to stop, beg me, you take me so well, I want you to go out there with my seat inside of you. Are these just copy and paste stories or are they AI generated?
The fmc annoyed me time to time for helping her sister more than she deserved . Based on the teasers that Jayla posted on Instagram i taught im facing a cruel super dominant hero . He is definitely alfa hero but not cruel to her . He is in love and reading his POV was amazing It was actually 5 star read Im hopping for Jayla to write a domme like fmc in bash again . Tessa was everything.
Great plot, likeable characters, and red hot romance. In this one, we meet Matteo and Emma and their struggle to move on after feelings are hurt and heart are broken. If there's anything negative to say about this book is that there was a lot and I mean lots of sex.
the amount of typos in this is, quite frankly, embarrassing. also ends with so many loose ends and questions. this book is hot trash, which is disappointing considering how well a few of this author's other books were done.
Not terrible. Felt like the plot was a little underwhelming and the first book was definitely rushed. Could have easily been one book and I'm not sure why the author dragged it out. Pretty good plotline and angst tho
