Welcome to Greenmount U the home of the biggest player and puck bunny collector, Jett is the resident bad boy who collects puck bunnies like no tomorrow, he goes back to college with a secret he doesn't want anyone to know.
Mila is a hard working somewhat shy girl making her own way in the world determined to live her best life, getting away from her dead-beat mom.
The start of college party that her best friend made her go to she catches the eye of the notorious playboy, Mila makes her mark by doing something no one else has done making our playboy determined, how will our girl react when she finds our who her roommate is…
this is only the tip of the iceberg in this pair future I can’t wait to see them grow more in the series, and I can’t wait to see what Jett’s secret gets up to, will there be drama who knows…..
Cole the ex and Jetts biggest rival how will he deal…
you will enjoy how the story wasn't rushed and had plenty of background on the characters so you get a full overview, and you can really connect with them and immerse yourself in the story, few authors do this, I loved following this step by step reading how the charterers grew and what was going on .
you won’t be disappointed in this book it will leave you wanting more and to go to Greenmount yourself, get this in your basket now!
Ruby- you have truly written an amazing book!! I will be counting down the days till I can go back to Greenmount U!
Jett is the f*ckboy, arrogant hockey player. Mila is desperate to leave her hometown and deadbeat mother, attend college and make something of herself.
They meet at a pre start day college party, and sparks fly. What will happen when she finds out he’s her new college dorm roommate?
This is just the beginning to these two characters. It’s a story to be continued.
Jett isn’t a likeable character but he seems to understand his shortcomings and is fine with his choices. Mila has many troubles but she’s strong and sassy.
The writing in this one is different - we get lots of internal dialogue from each character in their chapters so it helps you understand not only their thoughts and feelings but also their motivations and desires.
Overall I’m intrigued as to what happens next with these characters.
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 I have soo many questions and my god that ending????!!!! My love/hate relationship with cliffhangers lives on and ugh I screamed at my phone. I see a lot of myself in Mila and being very independent due to unfavorable circumstances and having to work hard to pull yourself out. And Jett is such an a-hole at times but him trying to be soft and vulnerable for Mila, warms my heart. Loved this story, I do feel it was a tad rushed in some parts and I wish there was more angst between Mila and Jett, but this story isn’t over so there’s time for more angst to build up between cause I love me all the angst and heartbreak. It build character. Jett and Mila definitely have their work cut out for them going forward and I can’t wait to see it unfold 😁
Tropes: college romance, hockey romance, enemy to lovers, forbidden romance, found family, roommate romance, morally grey MCs, little sister’s friend, tortured FMC
Review: An angsty, enemy to lovers forced proximity romance that leaves us on edge for book two! This book is the first in an all new hockey series and is full of everything hockey romance readers love! Mila and Jett begin in the most unorthodox of ways and form a shaky bond between them in this first book.
Mila is the definition of tortured heroine. The snippets we get from her past and memories create a chilling idea of what truly happened to her and I hope to get the full picture in the rest of the books. Her meet-hate with Jett sets her on a path to healing however and leads to many shocking turns in her story. Ruby did a wonderful job creating Mila’s inner strengths and demons. I found the resilience she had in this first book to be the best characteristics and I cannot wait to see how it grows. I also loved how she did not back down to Jett and went toe to toe at every turn.
Jett is the guy you love to hate. I found the dynamic between him and his family to be interesting and I hope Ruby delves more into in the next books. I also enjoyed how drawn he was to Mila and how he begins to learn a smidge of humility. The irony of them being roommates made me laugh sine Jett was trying to figure out how to find her on campus after she dismisses him and I thought the trope was well done. I also loved how Jett was almost like the devil sitting on Mila’s shoulder who encouraged her to rebel and do bad, bad things…with him! I was a little upset we didn’t see more outward growth from him in this book but I think this book set up room for him to really become Mila’s anchor.
This book is full of banter and push and pull tension. Mila and Jett are enemies to very reluctant roommates and then tentative friends. I enjoyed the way the progressed to each and also loved all the spice between them. Jett dominated in this aspect since he is a dirty talking bad boy who knows what he wants and goes for it. I am looking forward to how Ruby deepened their relationship in the next book and am excited to go deeper into each one’s story.
Rating: 8.5/10, an intense romance that will test your limits!
What a start to a new series! A bad boy hockey player who’s a little more than meets the eye and a strong, determined blonde beauty who is going to make something of herself no matter what.
Jett Jameson, star hockey captain, user of women, and kind of a douche, is ready to conquer this year. He’s Greenmount’s golden boy, he knows it, and he has zero issue using it to get whatever he wants and he’s taking full advantage. And the first thing he wants is Mila Daniels, his new roomie, and the only girl to ever walk away from him. Mila only wants to graduate and use this one chance to ditch her past and be more than the girl who walked out of her small town. She’s going to be someone, make something of herself, and the last thing she needs is Jett Jameson in her life. Unfortunately, she has some chemistry with her new roommate, and it’s hard to avoid and Jett is way harder to say no to than she anticipated.
So, Jett really is a douche, especially at the start when his inner monologue has no problem with telling you all about how great he is. Somehow it works for him though and I kind of love him. He does show a little more of himself as you learn about his past and he loves his mom a lot, which is cute. But the real moment you see past his cockiness comes right at the very end when he makes sure he’s there for Mila at a time when she has no one and that’s when you think maybe he’s more. Mila, I loved from the start, she’s a fighter, she’s smart, and she’s resilient. Her mom puts her through a lot, and I really like that though she loves her mom she sees that she’s more than her mom’s mistakes and she has to fight for herself and do what’s best for her, even when it hurts. This book does end as a to be continued story and I’m really excited to see how it plays out because I feel like there is a ton of potential for both Jett and Mila.
DNF at 2%. I tried to get past the opening monologue but when the MC literally delivered the cringeworthy drivel below I had to stop reading.
“There's not a single chick, a single pussy on this planet powerful enough to hold me and my dick captive. Not a fucking one. Sometimes I have to take a much-needed step back and remind myself that I didn't choose this life. This life chose me, and I plan to enjoy every beautiful second it has to offer.”
There isn’t a redemption arc on this planet that made me want to continue reading about a guy who says
“Everyone loves me. It's no secret that guys want to be me, and the girls; they're fucking shameless. They’ll do everything and anything they feel they need to do to be in with a shot of getting close to me. To fuck me. Again, this isn't me being bigheaded, it's the God's honest truth. The beautiful truth of my glorious reality. I'm undefeated. I’m indestructible... And most important of all... I’m un-fucking-tamable.”
More like unbelievable. Unlikeable. Unrealistic. Unimaginable.
Not sure if this book gets better but this wild attempt to build an arrogant alpha golden boy, only succeeded in creating a misogynistic narcissistic character that I have no desire to explore. Hard pass.

Welcome to Greenmount U home to Jett Jameson... Greenmount U's very own Hockey hero. He's arrogant... He's obnoxious... And he's also hot as hell....
Mila is determined to change her life so she finds herself at a party that her friend drags her to. She meets the playboy Jett himself and they share a kiss and shocker….she walks away. L
Mila thought that she would never see him again but then the unexpected happens and they become roommates.
I LOVE Mila and Jett and seeing how they both thought and fell in love!
Overall, I enjoyed this book. Jett is the ultimate "guy's guy". He's rich, popular, Captain of the university hockey team and the guy who all the girls want to be with and the guy all the guys want to be. He gets everything he wants and has never been told no. Kind of a jerk, but let's give him a chance- this is his beginning. Complete opposite is Mila. She poor, comes from broken home with a broken mother who does nothing to care for her. Mila has had to be the parent, working to pay the bills and put food on the table. She finally gets a break with a scholarship. When I tell you Jett and Mila are opposites, they are like oil and water!! Mila instantly hates Jett and he can't understand why she doesn't want him. If course, she's instantly the only one he wants. So much so, he's begins changing and can't understand why or what he's feeling. He's in denial. It was a good plot, and good bickering. The author does a good job of setting up the story and establishing the characters. It's a little slow to start, but by the time the characters meet each other, you already have a good grasp on who they are. I'm very interested in book 2 to see what the author does next!
ARC Review 🏒Once upon a roommate🏒 Greenmount Giants #1

⭐ 5/5 ❤️ /5
🏒 Hockey Romance 🏒 Sports Romance 🏒 Enemies to Lovers
Hockey and so much more
Mila is determined to turn her back on her old life and start afresh. Jett is a hockey player and a playboy, and he loves it. When the two meet at a party and get close, Mila leaves knowing she won't see Jett again. Jett, who isn't used to this kind of behavior from a girl. Little do they know that they are about to become roommates. Despite everything, they start something. And Jett starts to feel things he never felt before and does and allows things he never did before. But Mila has baggage. Baggage that Mila can't get rid of so easily. And when she gets some bad news, Jett is at her side. Ends on a cliffhanger that makes you want to know more as soon as possible.
Jett and Mila are an interesting combination in this hockey romance. Jett is full of himself and not afraid to share those thoughts. Meanwhile, Mila is hardworking as she's trying to break free from being the parent in her own household. They meet at a party and will soon be shocked to learn they'll be sharing space in a dorm as well.
Mila is very likable as she dreams of escaping the hand of cards she was dealt. She still seems grounded down to earth. Meanwhile, Jett is the hockey God of campus. His internal Montague tells you how highly he thinks of himself. I enjoyed his sass. Together, they start to balance each other out. This story does have a lot of inner monologs, which gives you a pretty rich understanding of both characters. It looks like there will be another book to tell their story, so I'm excited to see where this goes and how Jett specifically grows thanks to Mila.
Hockey Grumpy/Sunshine Forced proximity Fake dating Roommates
Once Upon a Roommate is the first book in the Greenmount Giants series.
I always love a good fake dating, angsty, hockey romance. Jett is the local hockey hero/playboy and Mila is working hard to change the unlucky hand life has dealt her. I love that Mila is strong and independent and Jett when he has redeeming qualities they are with or for Mila. There were some parts that felt rushed or forced but overall really enjoyed the tension, build up and ultimate cliffhanger. I am intrigued for what will happen next.
I received an ARC copy of this book and am leaving an honest review.
Jett Jameson is a golden boy and has an ego problem. He is a hockey god and the captain of the college hockey team and he can have any girl he wants.
Mila Daniels is a girl who has suffered her whole life from her alcoholic mother and just wants to escape her to start a new life and make something of herself. But when she meets Jett at a party her friend dragged her to, she finds herself in his spell more than she should be because she will never see him again.
Unfortunately, he is one of her roommates at Greenmount uni where she wants to focus on her studies but finds herself being a fake girlfriend of Jett.
When Mila finds out the news that devastates her, Jett is the one there supporting her.
I'm lucky to get an ARC for this book. Jett is known as fu**boy and Mila knew he was bad news when they first met. But that did not stop the attraction they had with each other. Mila was running away from her mom who has a drinking problem and isn't actually mother to her. Jett is the captain of the hockey team for the college Mila is attending. What a small world. Jett has never felt like this way for any girl he was been with. He's a type of guy one and done but not with Mila. Mila challenges him and tells him off and that's so different from the other girls he has been with. I can't wait for the next book in this series.
I don't even know where to start! This book had me hooked from the first paragraph. I FLEW through it and wish it was longer❤️ Jett is a dick but I love the bad boy that's only good to her kind of persona. Mila is incredibly strong and I just love everything about her. I enjoyed seeing both POVs and seeing them both falling was so magical ✨ This is a great start to their romance.
🌶️
THIS ENDS ON A HUGE CLIFFHANGER. don't say I didn't warn you!
Warnings: Drug usage Gaslighting Drug overdose Alcoholism
Mila is shy and socially anxious and hates the attention being on her, once you get to know her she's a firecracker. She's fiesty and knows what she wants and is determined to get it! Jett is an ass! But he's just the kind of book boyfriend we all love! His character changes are clearly well thought out and as you learn more about him you can't help but love him. The cliffhanger at the end made me shout at my Kindle louder then I should have and I'm pretty sure my neighbours know that 'I need the next one now!' This book sets up for the next one so well and I cannot wait for more!!
I cannot wait for part 2!! There's so many things I need to know and need answered haha. Such a great read and honesty I just need more of the story haha I'm gonna be left in suspense now waiting for book 2!
DNF. And typically I'm not one to review books I DNF, but man. I'm sorry it's really not well written. The first few chapters were barely anything but inner monologue dumps of the same thing over and over.
Jett is a total creep. I kept hoping for a redeeming quality but just didn’t quite find it (a little at the end). So many spelling/typo errors were distracting to read.
