The Lost One

Rate this book
They say some things must be broken before they can be fixed. But when Michaela hoped to cast doubt on the Aethere, she never thought things would fall apart like they did. Now the Aethere have turned their attention to the End of Days, and they won’t rest until they obtain the tools of Earth's final destruction: the Seven Seals.

The world is falling apart at the seams, and Michaela finds herself clutching the threads. She alone understands what will happen if the Aethere ever get the seals, and it’s the one thing she will fight to the death to prevent if she has to.

Even amidst the devastation on Earth, Michaela struggles to restore her faith in Gabriel. Together, they'll need to decide if their love is strong enough to erase the line she had fought so hard to draw between holy and fallen.

Michaela said she wanted a war, but when the End is looming, what will she fight for?

I was given an ARC copy for an honest review. OMG!!! Wow!!! Don’t know what else to say except when is the next book is going to be out! I started this book in the morning (around 8) and finished it before 4pm the same day. I will admit I expected to enjoy it because I LOVED The Hunted One, if you haven’t read it DO IT, and it didn't disappoint me in fact it surpassed my every expectation. The growth and changes of all the characters was amazing and you hear Clark’s parent’s story. The story took hold of me and didn't let go, it held me tightly in its grip until the very end at which time I was very sad I didn't have the next one to start. What else can I say but you HAVE to read it!!! You won’t be disappointed!

I received a complimentary copy of this book for an honest review.
It's not your typical book about Heaven and Hell or Angels and Fallen angels. The Lost One is the second installment of Meg Collett's End of Days series. The first book in this series, The Hunted One, had me hooked. This book picks up where The Hunted One left off.
In The Lost One, Michaela has been stripped of everything she has ever known. She is still determined to fight for and protect Heaven, Hell, and Earth. Michaela and Gabriel, the man/fallen she loves, continue to struggle with their own inner demons and sacrifices they have had to make. Gabriel is still trying to help and protect Michaela in any way he can. The chemistry and love between the two of them is amazing. Through everything they do truly deserve each other and in the End things start coming together for them.
Clark, Michaela's best friend, is constantly there to help out when Michaela needs him. I won't give away any spoilers, but my heart goes out to Clark because of everything he has to deal and come to terms with.
Meg Collett has definitely done an amazing job with this book and this series. It is filled with so much tension, suspense, love, drama, and friendship it will have you hooked and turning the pages as fast as you can. I am looking forward to the next book. I highly recommend this series and this author.

I was given this book for an honest review.
It was amazing! I didn't think the story line could get any better then an Angel betrayed by friends, stripped of her wings and left on Earth to try to save heaven , Hell and Earth, but I was wrong..
In The Lost One, not only does Michaela have to figure out how to save Everything and everyone but Meg Collett threw in so many Twists that I didn't know where I would end up.. Michaela found an inner strength that even she didn't know she had. Ms Collett is a "Grab you by the collar and shake you till you beg for more" kind of Author. Keep an eye on her shes going to be HUGE!

Again She did it again. she wrote an exciting thrilling 2nd book. I got lucky again when I got this review again.
The story gives a chance for all the characters to develop better. we come to know more about Iris and Issac.I loved that we had lots IG Gabriel in it. He was amazing and so loving my heart went out to him whenever he was hurt. Michaela was strong as ever trying to take right decision .I think she us a person who you can look up too. I think each and every characters even Lucifer had a big role in the book and got to know lots and interesting facts about everyone. its a very unique take on angel concepts. What you had earlier believed about them this book will change it.And I tell you...you are going to love it. There is humor in between those tensions thanks to Clark he is my Favorite!
You are going to love this book and the way it has ended I am dying to know what happens next. Romance, action, angels and gripping plot to hold you till the end!!

Given To Me For An Honest Review

In Meg Collett's book The Lost One (End of Days Book 2), Heaven is demanding the 7 Seals. Archangel Michaela is told to turn them over now. If not there will be a huge mass of plaques unleashed to devastate the earth. She believes it will not only destroy earth but heaven and hell with it. What should she do? This story is original and is such a great read. It is a real page turner and has some twists and turns. You will love every page you read. I love it. I gave this book 5 stars but I wish I could give it more. I recommend this book to everyone. I really recommend that you read all three books in order to really get the whole story. Book 1 - The Hunted One. Book 3 - The Only One. I look forward for more from Meg Collett.

In a series, a lot of the time I don't always love the second book as much as the first. That being said, THIS WASN'T ONE OF THOSE TIMES! I loved this book even more than the first and I loved the first one so much! The Lost One grabbed my attention from the beginning until the very end! In fact, I didn't put it down until I was finished with it. One of my favorite things about it was the fact that the characters evolved as the story did. Meg Collett puts a new spin on the Angel/Fallen Angel genre and it was simply amazing! I cannot wait for the third book! I recommend The Lost One to everyone so do yourself a favor and one click it now! I promise you won't be disappointed!

I was gifted this book by the Author for an honest review.
I gave this book 5 stars.
This is book two in the End of Days series. But this is the first book that I have read from Meg .. So I say it can be read as a standalone. I am sure I would have gotten more out of it by reading the first one too. I plan on doing that very soon!

Book: The Lost One

It is hard to put into words how amazing this book was, so I’ll just say that I couldn’t put it down once. And when I was distracted I was trying to hurry up and finish whatever I was doing so I could go back to reading this unique book. This book is not what you would expect from a book about heaven and hell and fallen angels but it is good nonetheless. This book starts off right where it left off which I was happy about, because I hate missing details between books.

Micheala has left behind everything she has ever known and she is still fighting to protect heaven and Earth. After everything she has been through it’s hard not to be on this character’s side. It is amazing that Gabriel is always trying to protect Micheala and help her through whatever she is facing. I could not get over their love; they are such a magnetic couple. Clark is obviously one of my favorite characters, even after all he has been through he is always there for Micheala.

I fell in love with the characters in this book and I couldn’t stop turning the pages once I started. I can’t wait until the next book comes because I, of course, want to know what happens next. Meg Collett is an amazing author and she has perfected the writing style of keeping you on the edge of your seat, pulling out your emotions, and leaving you begging for more.

THANK You Meg for a wonderful book!!! I loved it!!!

Continuing with the action-packed, edge of your seat, totally spectacular storyline, The Lost One swallowed me right back up into this truly amazing world and popped me back out on the other end salivating for the next (and final) book in the series.

With the fabulous cast of returning characters that continually evolve and develop, you can feel this story being driven by their struggles, their fears and hopes, and most importantly by love.

As the fight for Heaven goes on, we become even further entrenched in this broken world and I found myself ignoring the outside world so I could tear right through this story in one sitting (good thing it’s the weekend!). With such an enthralling world and story, I was not able to put this down.

Some of my favorite parts were the scenes with Clark and Lucifer. Clark’s snarky, smart-ass attitude is a welcome break from the ongoing action and tension, and always makes me smile. Then there’s the scenes with Michaela and Gabriel-filled with their own special tension-and passion.

A remarkable continuation of this engrossing series, it’s another 5 stars for The Lost One!

This chick has got skill!!!!
The Lost One is so freakin' amazing. I am really having a hard time putting into words how I feel about this book! I just cant imagine anything coming close to clearly defining just how perfect this book is! Meg has totally blown me away, yet again, with book 2 of the End of Days series. (This is book 2, be sure to read The Hunted One first, you wont be disappointed.)
I have fallen in love with Clark and Michaela and cant get enough! I absolutely adore this series so far. I waited several months to get my hands on this book and let me tell you it was torture but OH SO WORTH the wait! Now I am going to go crazy all over again waiting for book 3. I know if you read books 1 and 2, you will also be going nuts right beside me dying for book 3! Yes it is that good!
Thank you Meg for another PERFECT masterpiece! I love the creativity you have in your head!!!!

This isn't one of those good vs evil themes that I usually read. This isn't your average fallen angels gone rogue type of story. This is a masterpiece that must be read and spread. This is a wickedly fantastic book that I devoured in one night )a rare feat since I usually finish a book in two days).

My heart cried out for Clark; no, he isn't the lost one but it seemed that he was the one who lost everything. My favorite fallen arcangels, Michaela and Gabriel truly deserved each other and the sacrifice they made tore me apart. Meg Collett drove me crazy, but in a good way. I liked how she weaved romance and paranormal in an angelic setting. I liked how her writing is at par with this generation's bestsellers. Now I can't wait to read the next book! - See more at: http://a-bookworm-loose.blogspot.com/...

Well, one thing I learned with this series... do not wait too long to read the second book. I was a struggle to remember events and who was who from the first book.
Although I enjoyed this book, I think the characters are not very well developed. We are talking about angels, supreme beings, they are supposed to not only powerful physically but mentally, strong and enlightened... these angels are terribly week in all senses.

Michaela was the general of all angels for goodness sakes, she was a leader since the creation... and yet she commits so many stupid mistake guiding the angels. Yes, she is now a mere human without her wings but losing her wings doesn't mean she lost her intelligence, right? She sounded more like an amateur than a general angel.

Let's not discuss Gabriel and the other angels... and the amount of typos that still drives me nuts. These books need serious editing.

The Lost One is a great continuation in this series written by Meg Collett. After reading the first book I had to find out what would happen to Michaela. The author continued the story with an imaginative plot that left nothing to with for. Slowly everything is falling apart and how will Michaela and Clark get through all of this? The author does reveal some of the secrets but more secrets are yet to be revealed. There are some more beautiful twists and turns that add to this story nicely and thankfully Michaela finds new friends that aid her in this difficult journey. I was glued to the pages the entire time and there was constantly something that captivated me. There were some serious bombs that exploded in this book that I definitely did not see coming which were amazing.

I for one love this series and can't wait to find out how this will end in book 3. You should give this one a shot, but yes definitely start with book one since they do build up from one to another.

WOW!

I can't possibly think of any words best to describe how I'm feeling right now, I'm at a total loss, so I will try and give this the justice it totally deserves.

As the fight for Heaven will wages on, we become even further enthralled in this broken world and I found myself ignoring the outside world so I could tear right through this story, good thing it’s the weekend eh!. With such an enthralling world and story, I was not able to put this down.

I didn't believe it when Collett said she liked The Lost One better than the first book, The Hunted One , BUT now that I've finished The Lost One , I believe her and completely agree, I should never have doubted her in the first instance. Collett has completely outdone herself and destroyed everything I once know and believed, totally torn me apart. I don't know how she's going to get any better with the third and final instalment - The Only One

I think each and every character, even Lucifer had a HUGE role in this book. I have fallen in love with Clark and Michaela and cant get enough! I absolutely adore this series so far. The story itself is AWESOME!! Michaela is my all time favourite heroine. She totally kicks ass.

Don't get me started on Clark, oh my pink haired friend is a total snarky smartass and I can't get enough of him! He totally cracks me up when he opens his mouth. Even in a serious moment he has some sarcastic comment that will leave you laughing. I love and I mean FLOVED his interactions with Lucifer - unfortunately my heart broke for him too.......

I sort of had a love/hate thing going on with Gabriel - I mean on one hand it was amazing that Gabriel is always trying to protect Micheala and trying to help her through whatever she is facing. I could not get over their love; they are such a magnetic couple. BUT on the other hand the things he said/did was unforgivable and I could understand Michaela's reluctance. Gabriel tries to come to terms with who and what he is now.

He fights for Michaela but will he end up helping or hurting her?

While battle plans are being formed and executed the true test comes when Michaela has to decide to either love or hate Gabriel. Her choice could mean the chance of winning this war or losing it before it has even started.

Will she make the right choice?

Will she be able to set aside her preconceived notions about the Fallen and truly love?

The Lost One had me crying, laughing, and on the edge of my seat! I can't wait to find out how The Only One will carry the ending, but if it's anything like the first two it will be another Five Star Review!!

Meg Collett opened me up to try a new type of book I had never ventured to read with The Hunted One (the first book in The End Of Days Series). I got HOOKED!

The Lost One (End of Days, #2) by Meg Collett

With The Lost One the character development evolved leaps and bounds. Meg has a way of writing that keeps the story going and your anticipation of what's on the next page at a defcon 3! The story itself is AWESOME!! Michaela is my hero. She kicks ass. And Clark is my snarky smartass I just need more of! I crack up when he opens his mouth. Even in a serious moment he has some sarcastic comment that will leave you laughing. I love and I mean LOVED his interactions with Lucifer. Clark really shows his ba... err umm... tenacity. Yeah that's the word. There was a time I even found myself feeling sorry for Lucifer. (Did I just say that out loud?) Yes, it was only for a minute and at a pivotal moment, but if she can have you feeling sorry for the devil himself she's really got a talent. I can't wait to find out how the next book The Only One will carry the ending but if it's anything like the first two it will be another Five Star Review!!

I will start by saying that Meg did it again. Covers will always draw me in before I know a single thing about the book. I'm glad to say that she managed to capture all the important aspects of the book without giving everything away. Beautiful cover. But we aren't here to talk about the cover are we?

In The Lost One, we get more back story on Clark's parents, which is awesome. Now I don't dislike Isaac as much as I did in The Hunted One. Of course we get more Michaela and Clark. I love the way their relationship develops. And Gabriel...sigh. He's a ball of yum that I want to thrash into next week. One minute I'm swooning over him, then he pisses me off. I think at the end of the book we are not dating any more. Team Michaela, despite the fact that I understand his reasons for doing what he did.

Ah Clark...Can we all agree the ascension to bad ass is looking good on him? I can't wait to see what he eventually becomes once he is fully ingrained into his new role.

Overall, Collett managed to weave a story that sucked me in from the beginning and left me reeling with the final revelation. I really can't wait for the next book. Seriously, come on, Meg. You're killing me.

Final thought: As I said in my review of The Hunted One, I'm not a fan of cliffhangers. I wanted to read The Lost One, but Collett didn't turn me into a stalker forced to hunt for any tidbit I could get. She managed to do the same with The Lost One, just enough of a hanger that I don't want to stalk her trashcans for discarded chapters, but hooked enough to anxiously await the next book.

Though I received this book in exchange for an honest review, I purchased a copy because I believe in this author's talent and vision. Thanks for the opportunity to read The Lost One.

I received this book from the author and from Paranormal Romance and Authors That Rock.
The Lost One is book two in the End of Days Series. Warning this is not a stand alone novel.
War is on the horizon and the end of days is near. Michaela tried to expose the Aethere for what they really are but her plan backfired and she ended up unleashing a terror upon the Earth. Souls aren't be judge and are causing the Earth to be blanketed in darkness. Plagues threaten the humans and the outlook is bleak. Is there any hope for them to survive? The Aethere need the seven seals to start the end of days and will stop at nothing to obtain it. Gabriel tries to come to terms with who and what he is now. He fights for Michaela but will he end up helping or hurting her? Clark discovers who he really is and what part he plays in the world. Now all they have to do is survive long enough to restore Heaven and defeat the Aethere who will destroy it.
Captivating! The Lost One is a fantastic addition to the End of Days series. It picks up where The Hunted One left off and didn't slow down leaving you waiting in anticipation for the third book. Michaela and Gabriel continued to grow as individuals and in their relationship. Clark's sarcastic attitude breaks up the dark tone of the story and makes you laugh. There are so many areas of grey in this book it makes you question what is right and good and what is evil and wrong just as Michaela does. The book was amazingly written and adds more depth to the familiar characters making me love them even more. It was well paced and kept you entertained and interested the whole time.
I recommend the book for fans of darker fantasy novels and angel and apocalypse stories.
I give this book 5 fangs.

Michaela continues to try and right the wrongs she has unleashed upon the Earth and the ones being done in Heaven by the Atherea. She is worn out and tires of the fight but refuses to give up. Gabriel wants to help Michaela as much as he wants to hurt her. Ever since he signed his soul over to Lucifer in order to help her, his feelings everyone have been conflicted. Clark wants nothing more than to help Michaela bring down the Atherea so that Earth can become inhabitable again and the souls and Angels can go back where they belong. It is a long and bitter battle with many losses and heartbreak. There are no true winners in a war. The Atherea start to unleash plagues on the Earth and will not stop until Michaela gives them the Seven Seals which will bring about the End of Days. Michaela refuses to do so and is amazed by how many are actually willing to stand and fight with her when not so long ago everyone despised her for her mistakes. While battle plans are being formed and executed the true test comes when Michaela has to decide to either love or hate Gabriel. Her choice could mean the chance of winning this war or losing it before it has even really started. Will she make the right choice? Will she be able to set aside her preconceived notions about the Fallen and truly love? Will Clark finally realize his full potential as the half breed Nephil and help to tip the scales in this seemingly never ending battle? Will the last plague finally diminish everyone’s resolve to the point where they just give up?

This book had me from page one. I did not want to stop reading it.

I loved reading about Clarks parents and how they met and why Iris did what she did.

There was more of Clark who is becoming more and more my favorite character and more bad ass.

More action and Michaela kicking butt and even when she fails she gets back up and keeps fighting for what she feels is right.

Loki appears again and is more involved and leaves Michaela with a cryptic message at the end that seems to coincide with a vision Iris has had.

Gabriel is still trying. I think the last book left me not caring for his character but he redeems himself in this one and at times makes me feel for him and the ending he has in this book is great.

Meg Collett writes great characters that pull you in and make you want to keep reading about them and their struggles. The story will pull you in from the start and hold you to the end. The way she describes Hell was almost as wonderful as she had described heaven in the first book. This book was fast paced and there was so much going on that setting it down to do everyday stuff was difficult.

And now I'm off to continue reading book 3 which I picked up as soon as I finished this one. I have to know how this ends! :)

*I was given an ARC from the author, in exchange for an honest review*

YAY!!!!! I could not wait to read The Lost One, after reading The Hunted One, I needed the 2nd book so bad!!!!! I just have to say I LOVE CLARK!!!!!!!

This book, had a lot to do with the war that is going on, basically the end of days! Michaela and Gabriel are not really on good terms, because of the things that he has done. I do not blame Michaela for her being upset with Gabriel, because I was upset with him too. I wanted to jump into the book and slap him! ;) So, while Michaela is trying figure out how stop Aethere from getting all the seals. Clark, has his own battles going home, and when I say "battles" I do not just mean, the end of days battle. But I am happy that he met someone! Bravo, Meg! You had me blushing!

The Lost One had me crying, laughing, and on the edge of my seat! I cannot wait for the 3rd book!

What can Meg Collet not do? Writing an awesome follow-up is definitely in her skills! There is nothing that I did not love about this book. You got a healthy dose of Clark's life and why he felt the way that he did about his father. The story of his parents and what they went through is amazing. Michaels is trying so hard to right the wrongs by Heaven and prevent the Earth from complete devestation. It's not easy at all with the blame still in her face. She takes some of the blame, but it's for not seeing this coming not causing it. No one wants to hear from her, they just want to assume the worst is true. Even with Gabriel at her side, the fight is not easy. It's amazing that she doesn't give up. She powers through knowing that at the end of the day, she is doing the right thing. Still that awesome page-turing power that Meg gave you in book 1!! Keep it up, some of us just can't get enough.

This is the second book of three. All I can say is WOW. I can't wait to see how this ends. In this book Michela is trying to come up with a plan to get back home. This series is just great, it keeps you on the edge of your seat and just guessing what is going to happen next. I find it hard to put these books down. I am almost done with the third book right now, so it is hard to write this review right now. I keep thinking what book did that happen in. =) Either way this series is a must read. It is a totally different take on heaven and hell and angels and fallen angels. It is very interesting and keeps your attention. This book picks up exactly where the last one left off, no saying geeze what happened between books lol. Michela is still finding herself and trying to figure out where to go from here to get to her goal. Also, in this book Michela and Gabriel make up. Yeah!! Also they are hit with some plagues and other things happen as well. Good story..

Very well done! As Michaela's story continues we begin to understand that not everything is as simple as black and white and good and evil. And as she fights to to make the right choices to fix all the terrible things that have happened Michaela starts to realize that very thing herself. And that gives her the strength she needs to keep fighting.
I loved the flashbacks that showed how Iris and Isaac met and how it all led up to the present events and I really enjoyed watching not just Michaela but many of the characters grow into better versions of themselves even as they had to struggle to move past all the hurt and sadness they had to endure.
I admit more than once the story tugged at my heartstrings and had me reaching for a tissue. Add to that the few twists I didn't see coming and I was hooked! It definitely left me anxious to start the next book in the series and in my opinion The Lost One is definitely recommended.

Archangels, Nephilim, Descendents, The Fallen....YES, YES, YES, YES!!!!
Thankfully The Lost One picks up right where The Hunted One left us with a few flashbacks thrown in from Iris & Isaac and visions that will shock you! Taking us to a darker place in time when things don't seem very hopeful & every day is a battle to fight on. Just when we think the end is upon them, their fates sealed, everything begins to fall into place. Each of the Archangels, Nephilim, Descendents, & The Fallen have to work through their issues, feelings, & doubts which gives us a deeper understanding of their purpose. I simply adore these characters & each of their individual journeys moved me. Even Lucifer & Loki will won me over. BUT Gabriel, Michael, & Clark constantly shine through. And...after that ending...onto Book 3, The Only One!

Holy sh*t! This book was phenomenal, a stunning, exquisite masterpiece of epic proportions! This book blew The Hunted One out of the water! The story starts off and doesn’t slow down and so much develops. The Aethere unleash plagues, and death is wide spread. Clark is his crazy, cotton candy hair colored self. Gabe finally stops being an *sshole and the ending?! I don’t even know how to process the ending! What are you doing to my poor heart Meg Collett?!

Seriously I am speechless other than to say I need to start the final book, ASAP! I worry though now how this book will end. Michaela and Gabriel have been through so much and Clark plays an even bigger role in this book. There were a million twists and turns and I loved this book, that is really what it comes down to, I love this book! Five fire vortex stars!

Okay, now we are talking. The second book in the series has definitely picked up. You are going to want to start with the first in the series, The Hunted One. The pace has picked up as well as the sizzle. The characters and the story get more and more interesting.

The characters really grow on you. Michaela battles her worth, but has the heart of a lion. She is trying not to break while trying to right the wrong that lies before them all. Gabriel wants nothing more than to protect Michaela while fighting what he has become and what is worth is. Clark measures up his abilities and where he fits in this war.

With more characters and action rearing its head, you won’t want to miss out. I completely recommend reading the series in order. Thanks for the great read Meg Collett. Good luck with everything past, present, and future.

"I deliver a message to the fallen Archangel Michaela. Heaven demands the Seven Seals. You, Michaela, will turn them over immediately. If you wait," the Watcher paused and smiled cruelly, "we will unleash plagues of mass devastation on the Earth." Right where the first first book, The Hunted One, left off we pick up with, The Lost One. The aether has control of heaven and want to call on the end of days. Michaela believes the end of days will not only destroy earth, but heaven and hell with it. She finds help in the last places she ever expects to find it. This is such an original story and it was so much fun to read. I just couldn't put it down. I can't wait for the next installment. It does have some adult content and sexual situations.

This is the second book in the End of Days series. I loved the first and I was certainly not disappointed with this book. It picks you up from the very beginning and carries you mesmerised on this compelling journey with Michaela, Gabriel and my personal favourite Clark. It's exciting and entertaining the whole way through. I also really enjoyed finding out more of the back story of some lesser characters. When it ended, I was left feeling empty, I can't wait to read the remaining part of this epic adventure. Bravo Miss Meg, you've turned me into a true paranormal addict!
