This book is so full of raw emotions, strong connections, and vulnerable softness. It's beautiful.
There is so much love in my heart for Jordanne, Kian and Luka.

Yes, there is a lot of sex - A LOT.

I believe that this is exactly the type of sex that many allosexual and especially demisexual people crave because of the way they interact with each other. The vibe is so caring, but in a free and open way. Proximity, but not restricted.

And there is definitely so much more than sex - all 3 of them grow alongside each other and it's so great to see them bloom.

An emotional masterpiece I really enjoyed reading 🖤

"Luka," Kian began, his voice calm and warm, "we're not going anywhere." Luka trembled. "You can't promise that." "Yet, here we are," Jordanne said, her voice firm, "promising it anyway."

Wildly too much sex!! For this book to be 326 pages of which I read about 150 pages, I would say there were only 20 pages of substance. Also, those 20 pages felt like a checklist of diversity. I enjoyed the diversity but the constant reminder was overwhelming.

Viano Oniomoh is a new to me author but with this book I think she might have worked her way on to my auto-buy author list. This books was so deliciously good while being tender and sensual. The relationship between Jordanne, Kian and Luka was well written and kept my interest throughout the book. The spice in this book was beautifully written. It made me feel like I was watching a

Sexy, sweet, and low-angst polyam (triad) romance! Bonus: sex workers, demisexual rep, mental health rep, therapy rep (could be better but not objectionable), and a very diverse cast of secondary characters. I think this could have been better as a novella--it starts to drag a bit at times, and some of the family story lines aren't fleshed out enough--but I definitely recommend this.

Overall rating: 4
Hannah Angst Scale rating: 1
Content notes: emotionally/psychologically abusive and neglectful parents, past domestic violence exposure, past death of grandparent who was primary caregiver, anxiety, slut shaming and anti-sex work sentiment (challenged), on page alcohol and marijuana use, explicit sex scenes and light kink (voyeurism/exhibitionism, mild D/s play)

Hotttttttttt. Kian and Jordanne are a sex worker couple who just might have a crush on their best friend and roommate Luka. When their fantasy about Luka joining them takes a real life turn, things get very, very interesting. Did I mention this was hot?

Going from friends to polyamorous love isn’t always clear cut. All three feel they have a lot to lose if things go awry, particularly Luka. And then there are the stressors in their personal lives on top of making sex tapes and taking a chance on love. I loved these three together! It was great (and refreshing) to read a truly sex work-positive romance in which the sex workers love what they do and continue their work after the HEA.

There are multiple instances of family estrangement and various levels of boundaries with parents. The MCs are all great about telling each other they don’t owe their parents anything, despite what other relatives might say. I wish this wasn’t a rare occurrence so I definitely appreciate books that feature this message. If it had stayed there, I might have given this 5 stars. However, it would have been better without . Boundaries with estranged relatives don’t need to be tested in order to show that they’re real and/or in place.

Characters: Kian is a 30 year old fat bisexual Nigerian-British sex worker and interior designer. Jordanne is a fat bisexual Nigerian sex worker and YouTube gamer with cheek piercings. Luka is a demisexual Nigerian-British photographer with glasses and pierced nipples and nose and a Prince Albert piercing. Kian and Jordanne have been together for several years and Luka has been their roommate for 6 years. This is set in Manchester, England.

Content notes: anxiety, past image-based sexual abuse , Luka’s estranged father claims he is dying, parental substance abuse, family estrangement (includes family members violating boundaries), parental emotional neglect, sex worker shaming (countered), bigoted aunt, divorced and separated parents, trans secondary character’s parents kicked her out when she came out (past), past death of Luka’s grandmother who helped raise him, past jilting at the altar (Luka’s fiancée), past hysterectomy (FMC doesn’t want kids), FMC’s mom is pregnant (off page), alcohol, inebriation, marijuana, on page sex, sex tape/porn filming, menage, DP, simming, voyeurism, somnophilia, light spanking, light degradation, light Daddy kink, sex toys, masturbation

*Thanks to Hannah for the recommendation!

This was H O T. Wow.

A bisexual couple who film spicy content, and their demisexual best friend/roommate, and how they all become a throuple. This is a remarkably smutty queer love story, and yet somehow tender as well, with great representation?? LOVE.

Also Luka has a pierced peen, yes it’s a fun time.

Tired to kill me!!

The tension level in this book was so crazy it almost gave me anxiety. Like I stopped mid way and pulled out my comforter read because I thought the buildup and the heat would unalive me! It was one of the sweetest friends to lovers and for sure the hottest book I read this year (2023) if not the hottest book ever. But for sure the first full smex group scene was THE BEST IVE EVER READ!! Like this is exactly what I want if you tell me one or more of the characters are sex works! I want heat and VERITY! I also LOVED the plus size representation! Oniomoh is such a great writer, the gratuitous use of “oh god,” “holy spit,” and “fudge” during the smex was sinful ok! I made me feel all the things. I loved so much the way they took care of Lukas feelings and heart and the growth of each character. The be you and do what makes you happy message was well received. And of all the many quotes to choose from it was “But your anxiety and your trauma are lying to you.” The rest of my thoughts will get my review flagged so I’ll keep them to myself!

This book started of swinging. I was not ready for the opening scene AT ALL.

After I stopped clutching my pearls, I immediately thought these 3 were such horny bunnies. I'm not sure how they didn't need downtime but I guess being young and feral it's like that sometimes. The tension was leaping off the page, and some how Viano was able to balance that with a level of tenderness and care. Listen, I couldn't keep track of who was where but the check-in and asking for permission was more important to me. So yes there was a lot of on page shenanigans but we also got to read about healing, acceptance, familial boundaries, healthy relationships, and sex work done with dignity. We love to read it.

I think towards the end it dragged just a bit. My guess is that Viano wanted to make sure all the loose ends were addressed. Everyone didn't get a HEA resolution but they did get found family and a HEA. I think there's room for this to be a series. 🤞🏾

CN: mention of an abusive ex, verbally abusive dad, outing sex work (revenge), homophobic comments, slut shaming, panic attack on page, dying parent

I'm going to be so honest, I wanted a smutty book with fat characters and those are my only requirements and so I actually really liked this one. It does not have a lot of plot and the sex scenes are the vast majority of this book. Each character does have their own singular other item happening at the same time but none of it is delved into and there again is not a lot of plot. But I wasn't looking for plot so I'm okay.

I think for me this book really won me over with just the celebration of fat bodies and the attraction to fat bodies. Sometimes you just need that little bit of validation and this book gave that.

If you’re looking for a book that delivers on intimacy, relatable character growth, hot scenes and found family then this book is for you.

The delivery of the queer experience was nuanced while be tender and truly the “escapism” that I think a lot of people are referencing when they say they enjoy reading. I’m not saying it was devoid of conflict or the realities that can and often do come with being fat, Black, queer, a sex worker, poly or the intricacies of familial relationships but it showcases what those things could look like with clear boundaries, communication, and trust within self and your found family.

Also this book is hot af. This will be in the top of my year no doubt and this is now an auto read auto buy author

I’m not sure how something could be so explicit but also extremely slow burn omg. I was losing my mind.

The premise really intrigued me but all this was was all sex and not nearly enough substance. It just got so repetitive like I wanted some developments or literally anything else?? They also were very cringey to me and I wasn’t rooting for the relationship at all. They are also grown adults that could communicate which got so fucking frustrating.

⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 🌶🌶🌶/5

TW - emotionally manipulative parent, emotionally distant parent, parent disowning their child due to sex work (past), divorce (parents, past, mentioned), character left at the altar (mentioned), abusive relationship (past, mentioned), revenge porn (past, mentioned), death of a grandparent (past, mentioned), addiction (mentioned), mild panic attacks, total hysterectomy (mentioned), marijuana use (edibles), terminally ill parent, pregnancy / birth (scs, mentioned), bigoted family member

CW - sex work, D/s, unprotected sex, voyeurism, DP, toys, very light “daddy”, degradation, hand necklace, light spanking, cockwarming, very light somnophilia

Tropes - friends to lovers, forced proximity, erotica, one bed, and they were roommatess

Representation - Black MCs, polyam - MMF, demisexual rep, biromantic rep, plus size rep, bi rep, mental health rep (anxiety, panic attacks, depression, therapy), trans rep (scs), non binary rep (scs)

This book got boring very quickly, ultimately the same thing was happening in every chapter. Whilst there were some threads of plot in this, it was mostly erotica. I have no problem with that but it probably should've been capped at 200 pages if the plot wasn't going to be stronger. I felt like the story was being dragged out for the sake of it. Given they’re meant to be best friends, they’re bad at communicating and it was very repetitive.

Kian (MMC) and Jordanne (FMC) are an established couple and also sex workers. They play out a fantasy where their flatmate, Luka (MMC) walks in on them while under a blanket. As Luka gets looped in with them they discuss this further as their fantasy being voyeurism. This confused me as what they describe is exhibitionism. Both these things typically go hand in hand but what they describing is wanting to be watched and wanting to be caught / the idea of being caught - this is baked into exhibitionism. They are literally getting off on being watched, not doing the watching.

There were some teeny tiny inconsistencies in terms of place that, tbh, didn't affect how I felt about the book and were just things I noticed also being from the UK. The characters live in Manchester and travel "up" to Nottingham; the mention of "scorching" weather in Manny made me snort, lol.

Scale:

⭐️⭐️ - shit, but whatever
⭐️⭐️⭐️ - meh, could've been better
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - lit 👅
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - loved it, inject this shit into my veins 🤪

🌶🌶 - mediocre at best
🌶🌶🌶 - standard smut, hot

Why was this the sweetest book ever 😭🥹🥰

Omg this book was so dang sweet. I think I read too much dark romance and toxic romances because this book had none of that. It was just three people loving each other with all their hearts, no third act breakup, no toxic mess, no exes popping up from the past, just a loving story of three people falling in love. It was so steamy too! I highly recommend it!

DNF; i loved parts of this!! but tbh it was a bit too lovey dovey for me and felt my clit retract into my body anytime they’ll called each other “beautiful boy” “beautiful girl” or whatever they were saying

“I love you, gorgeous girl.”
He felt her smile as she whispered back, “And I love you, beautiful boy.”

a loving couple using loving pet names for each other me: 😫😫😭🤢 cringeeee

loved the exhibitionism & im always up for the roommate trope but like why did the author keep emphasizing how fat the couple was. i guess obviously cuz thats a fetish but i was like girl okay i get it they’re fat but jesus idk maybe im too woke i was like hey leave them alone sometimes us fatties just like to fuck stop bringing up my rolls

also the phrase “jilling her sweet little clit” actually made me laugh outloud

bits & bobs:

“Jordanne whined, tears stinging her eyes each time he went in deep and she had to fight her gag reflex. She kept drooling, making his dick sloppy wet. He groaned and clenched his eyes shut. His left hand fisted the back of her hair, holding tight, his thrusts almost lazy. Jordanne was almost shaking; she felt like a single breeze on her clit would be enough to make her come.
Kian’s phone vibrated. His eyes came open slowly. He reached in his pocket for the device, still fucking into Jordanne’s mouth. Jordanne whined at the casual disregard in the action,”

“Such a dirty little slut, aren’t you?” he whispered, his breath escaping him when her cunt spasmed around him again. “It’s turning you on, isn’t it? That he’s right there? The thought that he could look here at any moment?” Jordanne began to make helpless, little keening sounds in the back of her throat, her inner walls practically vibrating around his dick. Kian pressed his mouth, open and wet, against her shoulder. His balls were already pulling up, his lower belly quivering. She just couldn’t stay quiet, not for long. “You want him to look over, don’t you? Dirty girl. I bet if I rip these blankets off and hold your legs open, you wouldn’t fight it. You want him to see you like this, dripping like a slut, hungry for his dick.”
Jordanne made those keening noises again. Her left hand found his thigh, her press-ons digging through the layer of his joggers into his flesh. It was a silent, desperate plea.”

I really had to take a moment to think about what to write because I didn't want this review to be only pterodactyl screaming. Because I loved this book so so so much and after I'd read this book, my mind was totally empty of thoughts.

I love how realistic the story is emotionally. We see the progression from realizing you want more, to being hesitant over grabbing it when it's available and that leap when you finally decide you want to go for it. We see the pining, the yearning, the communication, the learning, the hesitation, the love, everything and I love that. It takes time to navigate a menage romance and I adore that we got to see that slow burn. But please don't get me wrong, this book is very fast burn (scorching really) when it comes to spice, because there is a lot of spice AND ITS SOOOOOO GOOD!!! Like take a breather after reading a scene -good. Trust me.

What I also love is that Jordanne and Kian are described as being fat. Not plus-size, not curvy for miles, not heavy, but fat. I so very rarely see this and it's absolute perfection. And it's not a big deal, they are fat and that's it. They still love, they still have hot scenes, they still dress in revealing clothes and go out to have fun. It's not a hindrance and the author does an amazing job with showing that while not underlining the fatness. It's just a character trait.

In conclusion, I love this book, it's one of my absolute favorite reads of this year and it knocked out everything. Totally wow-fest.

Ugh, I hate to do this but I put this book down for a few days to see if I would be in the mood for it again and I just don't want to pick it up again. I've been skimming on and off for the last 100 pages, so I think its a good sign this book just isn't working for me.

I hate to DNF since I really like the characters, but its just too much smut for me. I knew it would be a lot, but I really do need a break sometimes. I feel like even when they weren't having sex they were talking about it or thinking about it. I started skimming all the sex scenes and all the scenes were they were like "We like him but we don't know if he likes us" and "I really like them, but I shouldn't so I'm just going to pretend like I don't" It just got too repetitive. For a while I thought i would finish just to see what goes down with Luka's dad, but even that isn't worth the trouble of reading this anymore. I will say I have been struggling with contemporary romance for about a year now, usually it being queer will increase my interest, but not this time. Overall, I can see myself reading this author again because I do like their characters a lot, but I just either need to be in an erotica mood or chose a book of theirs that maybe has less constant sex talk?? I will say I did like the positive sex work rep though!

This was so precious, sappy, and cozy. I loved that it had fat sex workers and that it was so consent and safety heavy. Kian was adorable - a teddy bear with all the caregiver vibes. Jordanne was sweet and kind. Luka was an anxious boy with abandonment trauma. All of them had different family traumas and hang ups that were authentic and relatable. They all also had different outcomes with their families and supported each other in the difficult moments.

Spice: 5/5

I love stories with positive sex worker representation while also showing some of the realities (like that of Jordanne's rocky relationship with her family in Nigeria). The story is interesting, the characters are real and complex, and the spice is definitely hot. I loved the communication between the characters, especially Jordanne and Kian from the beginning, and then the three of them towards the end. Luka was especially interesting. I love his demi rep and how Viano Oniomoh presented his unique experience with his sexuality. In all honesty, I have read 5 books from this author, and each one has been amazing. This one was no different. This is definitely worth checking out if you want a story with amazing spice with even better character analysis and growth. It's layered, complex, and just all-around interesting.

This book. Oh my gosh this book. This is HOT. This book is so hot and spicy and just a good, enjoyable read from start to finish about 3 very attractive people getting it on.

Is there a plot? No no really. This is entirely character driven, and it is all the more enjoyable for it. Who needs a plot or a storyline when you have extremely attractive BIPOC characters, two of which are fat, and you get to read about them all just fucking each other for like 300 pages? It was spectacular.

You do get good conversation about sex workers, sex work in general, acceptance from family and loved ones, and general welfare of human beings.

I really enjoyed this. So much. I can’t wait to read the next novel by this author, truly.

I fuckin' love Viano, okay? What an absolute talent. Just for the Cameras is a book that starts off strong with the smut, but never dives into plot, what plot as there is so much character development and emotion in this book. Our characters are rich and alive in ways that just make you so incredibly attached to them. The respect and devotion they have for one another is enchanting to read. I think maybe we could've spent the tiniest bit more time leading up to the smut in the beginning of the book, but it's a great book and I highly recommend it!

Everytime I think about this book, I start smiling. I just had a fucking great time. So delightful and full of queer friendship and love and ugh, Vee you really ate with this, I must say. Also two fat black bisexuals getting RAILED? Let me re-read immediately.

-

“She had shown herself that she could still stand on her own, but she liked it a lot better when her friends stood by her, too. She could brave her fears, with them, and still come out standing on the other side.” (Aaaah!)

-

“‘You can’t promise that.’

Not only was this probably the spiciest book I have ever read, it was an amazing story of love, healing and acceptance. With an all black and queer cast, this book shined a light on sex work and the discrimination those in that line of work face, navigating the challenges of polyamory and overcoming and healing from past trauma. This book was beautiful and, as I said, incredibly spicy. I absolutely loved it.

Honestly y'all, this was a riot. I went in expecting it not to be my vibe, but I (very surprisingly) ate it right up. Dare I say, I loved the miscommunication in here?? It actually made sense and added to the tension and really really worked in this book's favor imo. Like the suspense was 🤌🏾🤌🏾. I also loved the emotional intimacy / vulnerability between these characters and how they all loved and took care of each other from the beginning. AND the peppers were hot. Like this premise really makes for a fun time. s/o to book club for making me read this😌
