She’s the town good girl.
He’s the sexy bad boy.
But a one-night stand is about to bring consequences neither expects.

Serendipity assistant district attorney Erin Marsden rarely makes mistakes and is perfectly content with her predictable life, thank you very much. Until the day sexy Cole Sanders returns to town and tempts her off her good-girl path.

After seven years of deep undercover work, Cole Sanders comes home to help his aging dad and rediscover his buried sense of right and wrong. He’s not there to get involved with the town’s good-girl, who has always been off limits to a bad boy like him.

But Cole’s a rebel at heart and he just can’t ignore their blazing-hot chemistry. He also can’t ignore the consequences of their intense one-night stand—Erin is pregnant with his baby.

As if that’s not enough to make his protective instincts kick in, Erin’s current case has danger written all over it. But Cole is determined to protect the woman he loves, and Erin finds herself succumbing to his alpha demands.

Now Cole just needs to prove to both himself and Erin that he can give her and their baby the love they deserve.

After a one night stand results in a baby on the way, Erin and Cole’s lives are changed forever. Before knowing about the baby, Cole made it clear that all they had was the one night. His life and career is very solitary as he’s often working undercover for long periods of time and he’s only in Serendipity to rest in between assignments. He’s also not exactly the town hero. He caused some trouble when he was younger and having a dad still living in Serendipity who talks badly about him any chance he gets doesn’t help either. Cole doesn’t think he’s good enough for Erin and he’d just ruin her life, so after their one night together he ignores her and goes about his solo, lonely life until he finds out about the baby that changes all his plans.

Erin has a successful career as an attorney, she’s surrounded by family and close friends and is the town darling. She felt like there was more between her and Cole, even after just one night, but since he’s not giving her the time of day, she’s trying to move on with her life. But a person from Cole’s past is in Serendipity and not at all happy with Erin. After a close call being shot at in a parking lot, the news comes out about the baby and everyone in Serendipity seems to have an opinion on the matter. But more importantly now Erin’s life is in danger and Cole refuses to let her out of his sight and moves in to protect her and their baby until the threat is found and captured.

I really enjoyed Erin. She’s smart, level headed and never lets anything get her down. Cole frustrates her with his firm stance that nothing will ever develop between them even though they can’t help but become closer the longer he’s living with her. Erin tries to go into this with her eyes wide open, ready to accept whatever Cole can give her and they do share some hot and steamy time together. Their scenes together have that sexy/sweet combo that comes alive on page. Erin lets her heart get involved and I ended up liking her all the more for that.

Cole, I enjoyed him for the most part, but I did find his “nothing can happen between us beyond this case” got a little old as the story went on. But, we do get a lot of detail surrounding Cole and his relationship with his father and I loved those scenes. His father, I wanted to smack a few times, but it drove home the point of the type of verbal abuse Cole has been around for years and I liked seeing Erin be fully in his corner and stand up for him to not only his father, but to her brothers and even the town. Erin’s influence on Cole was much needed as she gave him strength to deal with his father and to start thinking about the future and what he really wanted for his life and for Erin and the baby.

It’s always fun to see other residents of Serendipity show up and we get quite a bit of time with Erin’s brothers, Sam and Mike and Mike’s wife Cara. I love a good girlfriend being included in the story and Erin’s friend Macy had me laughing with just her loud outspoken personality. It’s fun to see the town come to life on page through its residents and past heroes and heroines we’ve gotten to know.

The Serendipity series continues to be one I turn to whenever I want a sexy, romantic read. Perfect Fling fits right in, giving us a heroine who I loved, a hero who’s a little gruff but needs the heroine in his life, even if he doesn’t realize it right away – and it’s just simply a fun read.

This story was okay. There was enough plot to keep reading but the hero who claimed to take responsibility said for most of the book that he was not into commitment and would eventually return to his long term undercover job. Oxymoron until last ten pages. Secret FBI agent Cole becomes a body guard for attorney Erin after she is shot.

Perfect Fling-
Serendipity is the place we all wished we lived! Where we have cops that we know personally and will protect us when needed. The place we all want to escape to.

Perfect fling is about Erin , a district attorney and Cole, an undercover detective we all want to get under the covers with!

Goody good girl Erin has her first one night stand with an incredibly sexy bad boy, cole. Her night of sizzling sex, left her pregnant. She is trying to figure out a way to tell him he's a father. One day as she's walking into work, she is shot. The bad boy baby Daddy is in the police station talking to her brother when they learn she has been shot. They all rush to the hospital and cole is waiting outside her hospital room. he over hears the doctor talking about her pregnancy and then is face to face with the doctor. She then is in the process of telling hum, when her oldest brother, the police officer in charge, walks in and finds out at the same time as cole, Erin's pregnant.
As the story evolves, they learn that Erin has a stalker trying to eliminate her from Coles life. Cole promises to take care of her and keep her and the baby safe.
Perfect fling is beautifully written. Erin is a very strong, intelligent and courageous heroine. Cole is the hero we all dream of.

Serendipity is a town we have all come to love. It is a place we want to visit again and again. The perfect little town where people take care of each other. Each book is better than the previous one. It leaves you with a warm fuzzy feeling anxiously waiting for the next one. Carly Phillips is an outstanding author who has the ability to combine romance, mystery and suspense making it almost impossible to put down until you are finished.

A fun and satisfying small-town romance
5 stars

We’re back in Serendipity, New York for this, the second book in the Serendipity’s Finest series - a spin-off from the original Serendipityseries, this time focussing on the men and woman of the town’s law enforcement. The first book in the series, Perfect Fit, featured now Police Chief, Mike Marsden, now this one follows his sister, Assistant DA, Erin Marsden and town bad boy and undercover cop, Cole Sanders. It’s definitely nice to read the rest of these books and find out the stories of the secondary characters - but they really do stand alone so that’s not a prerequisite to reading, understanding and enjoying this book.

Erin is supposedly the town good girl but when we first meet her, she’s doing the walk of shame from bad boy, Cole’s, bed after a night of delightful debauchery. But that is an anomaly for her and while she is sweet and kind-hearted, she’s more good in the way of always doing the right thing, rather than not being naughty. She’s an independent woman who can and does stand up for herself. I liked her immensely and really felt a connection with her.

Cole is a classic Carly Phillips hero and also exactly the type of hero that I love to read about. The kind that swears up and down that they will never fall in love and it’s only sex to them. Oh how I like to laugh at them. Cole is bossy, alpha, possessive and doesn’t realise he’s a big ol’ teddy bear that rather than being a lone wolf, actually just has issues from his childhood. He’s delightfully clueless and unsure how to deal with his growing feelings for Erin. Yes, he’s the perfect type of hero.

Cole, I have to admit, is probably the first of Phillips’ heroes that I’ve ever worried might not change his ways, get his act together and achieve his happily ever after with the woman he loves. I mean, of course he would, but I wondered if it would believably be pulled off. But as we move through the book, Cole slowly and steadily starts to shift his mindset and to believe in his own worthiness - with Erin’s help, of course!

There’s an amount of peril in the story but it doesn’t raise to the level of romantic suspense. It’s just enough to keep the story going and to help nudge our couple along when they need it. Most of the stuff happens to Erin - the shooting, stalking, disturbing “gifts” and the like. It’s also fairly obvious who the perpetrator is - but it’s also not meant to be a mystery, so there’s that.

Despite our couple having an amazing one night stand the night before the start of our book, there was still that nice build up of sexual tension before they get a repeat performance. Carly Phillips excels with the sexy - so you know you’re going to love our couple together and get a little hot and bothered yourself. But it’s not just that. You can see and feel the building of feelings and love our couple have for each other that feels so real. I loved every moment.

While this is a standalone romance, it’s always nice to have little snippets of previous couples in the series and see them in love and happy. It’s like espresso shots of epilogues. And on top of that, we also get little teases of the next books in the series which makes me giddy with excitement.

I’m really enjoying this series and this was a great addition to it. Carly Phillips’ unique and fun writing style brings us characters that are easy to root for, a romance that’s sweet and sexy and a believable happily ever after that will make you sigh with satisfaction. Definitely 5 stars for this one.

This is another great book in this series. I don’t think we always realize how much our parents can sometimes mold our personality. Erin was the only girl with two brothers. She had always defined herself as the good girl since her family always said she was. I liked that one night after her older brother’s wedding, she let loose her bad girl with Cole. She hadn’t seen him for years, and he was the bad boy she used to have a crush on. I disliked how much Cole’s father had messed with his head as he was growing up and never felt good enough for anyone. He loved his undercover job as he could be someone else and never get close to anyone. Unfortunately there were a few problems after their one night stand. After something happened to Erin, Cole found out she was pregnant with his baby. His protective feelings came into play and he was determined to protect Erin, but not let any emotions become involved. Plus there was something going on with Cole and his dad. It was exciting at times, and I was worried about people’s safety. I loved the book and strongly encourage to to read the book. I was given a copy and voluntarily wrote a review.

Good girl with an unblemished reputation meets the town's rule-breaking, allergic-to-commitment bad boy for one unforgettable night. They part ways, never to meet again, until a nine-month secret ties them together for a lifetime.

I’m so glad to get Erin Marsden's story, and it's simply perfect. Her family is all law and order, she works in the DA office putting criminals in jail, and she gets involved with the worst guy possible. Epic, I tell you.

Cole Sanders left Serendipity never to return. No great loss since he was a troublemaker and the people of Serendipity were happy to be rid of him. The only reason he's back is because of his father's health issues, not that his father appreciates it.

Their upbringing couldn’t be different, and they seem like complete opposites, but Erin is the Yang to Cole's Yin. This one has so much heart and emotion, and I loved Cole's underlying vulnerability and seeing him grow and overcome his past. Smexy, sweet, humorous and heartfelt, this is a fantastic addition to the series that you won’t want to pass up!

Favorite Scene:

Cole and Erin drove back to Nick's house in comfortable silence. He didn't feel the need to discuss what went on in his father's hospital room, and Erin didn't ask. She knew from his somewhat calm demeanor that at least there had been no yelling or confrontation, and for that she was grateful.

She couldn't remember ever being more exhausted. At the top of the stairs, she turned toward the master bedroom, expecting Cole to head the other way to the room he'd been staying in for the last couple of days.

"Erin?"

She turned. "What's up?"

"I... Never mind."

Oh, there was something, she thought, studying him. Weariness was evident in his handsome face and she realized the strain of all they'd gone through, plus Jed, was wearing on the both.

"Talk to me." She walked up to where he stood, leaning on the railing.

He shook his head. "There was nothing specific. I just..."

Erin took a leap. "You don't want to be alone," she said, hoping she wasn't so far off base she'd be mortified when he said she was wrong.

He exhaled and nodded. Relief shot through her and she held out her hand. She didn't want to be alone either. As tired as she was, there was nothing sexual in her offer, and she didn't get the feeling he was looking to cross that line again either. But they shared the same concerns over her safety and over Victoria's craziness and potential next move, and now they both were worried about Jed. It made sense that they keep each other company while waiting for the morning... and for the surgery to come."

Main Characters:

Erin Marsden: Erin is an Assistant District Attorney in Serendipity. She comes from a family of police officers and is thought of by everyone as the "good girl". Erin has a heart of gold and a softness about her but, at the same time, she can be a take charge kind of girl.

Cole Sanders: Cole is an undercover agent in New York. He has a typical "bad boy" reputation but despite his reputation and good looks he is very uncertain about himself. He just never thinks he deserves good things in his life. His entire personality just endeared him to me.

Mike & Sam Marsden: Mike & Sam are Erin's brothers. Both work on the police force and their overprotectiveness drives Erin crazy.

Macy Donovan: Macy is Erin's best friend. Her family owns "The Family Restaurant" in Serendipity. She can be a spitfire but she always has a shoulder for Erin to lean on. She's loyal and very devoted.

My Thoughts:

Erin Marsden is the local Assistant District Attorney in Serendipity. She has a reputation for being a "good girl" but after her brother's wedding she stopped at Joe's bar and everything changed. A dance with Cole Sanders sets the ball rolling and the next morning Erin wakes up in his bed. Erin is shocked at her behavior and can't believe she had a one-night stand. With Cole Sanders who she has always had a crush on. Crawling out of Cole's bed and moving on with her life isn't as easy as she thought, especially when she finds out she's pregnant. Eventually Erin is shot in the parking lot at work and Cole becomes her self-appointed bodyguard. Each day, Erin finds herself falling more and more in love with Cole but he is determined to keep her at arms length because once she is safe he is leaving and going back undercover. Will Erin's plan to introduce Cole into her life publically help him see what he has been missing and remove the barriers he has errected around himself? Or will Erin have to accept the way things are and eventually say goodbye to the man she has come to love?

Cole Sanders is the typical "bad boy" according the the people of Serendipity. Even Cole admits he wasn't a model kid growing up but the one thing he did right was have a one-night stand with Erin Marsden... he just hasn't figured it out yet. Cole grew up with a father that belittled him regularly and was never satisfied with the person Cole was. Even after Cole turned his life around and has a respectable job his father still continues to slam his character every chance he gets. Cole grew up feeling unworthy and undeserving but Erin makes him feel as if he deserves the world. Little by little Cole realizes what Erin and their baby have come to mean to him but can he walk away from the life he loves as an undercover agent for a home and family? Can he make a life in the very town he feels no longer accepts him?

Perfect Fling was just that... Perfect! I loved Cole's character the most, I think. Cole was a typical "bad boy" but underneath he had so many insecurities. He felt unworthy due to his father's constant put downs. I wanted to strangle Jed. It was so touching to see this tough guy always second guessing his value and worthiness. Erin was a perfect compliment to Cole. She always knew what he was thinking and knew how to make him feel that he deserved the good things in life. She was his champion, always sticking up for him and seeing the good in him. Cole and Erin are my "Feel Good" couple of the year. I have yet to read a book this year where the couple drew me in and held me enthralled to such an extent. The storyline was great as it kept me on the edge of my seat. I had a hard time putting it down and it only wet my appetite for more of the series. Carly Phillips sucked me in like my trusty old vacuum sucks up the dirt on my carpet! Awesome 5 Star read!

“What do you need?” she asked. “You, sweetheart. I need you and everything that you bring with you."

I did not realise that this book was part of a series but still, keeping track of all the characters was pretty easy. Erin & Cole had good chemistry and I liked how they both grew individually but it took too long for Cole to realise what he really wanted. The beginning and end were good but the plot somewhat slowed down in the middle. It wasn't so hard to guess why was Erin being stalked when the message by the stalker was found and the entire plot was predictable. I liked the side characters and I enjoyed reading this book but I don't know if I'll continue reading this series. Overall, I will rate it as a 3.5 star read.

I received an ARC in exchange of an honest review

Title: Perfect Fling

Series: Serendipity's Finest bk 2

Author: Carly Phillips

Genre: Contemporary

Erin … The Good Girl
Assistant District Attorney, Erin Marsden, is Serendipity’s quintessential good girl. The only daughter of the ex-police chief, she has never made a misstep, content with her quiet, predictable life … or so she thinks. Until Cole Sanders returns to town with heated interest in his eyes and shadows in his past.

Cole … The Bad Boy
After seven years of deep undercover work in New York City, Cole returns to Serendipity to help his aging father and to find his moral compass once more. Not to get involved with wholesome Erin Marsden. Even as a rebellious teen, he knew a girl like Erin was off limits and that hasn’t changed. But neither one of them can resist their off-the-charts chemistry and a one night stand brings complications neither Erin nor Cole expected.

The Attraction … Off the Charts!
Then Erin’s current case plunges her into a killer’s crosshairs. With more at stake than anyone knows, Erin succumbs to Cole’s take-charge attitude. As a bodyguard, he’s the best. As a lover, he’s even better. But there’s more than the matter of Erin’s safety at stake. And Cole must forgive the sins of his past and prove to himself – and to Erin – that he’s capable of the love and the forever she – and their baby – desperately need.

Once again Carly Phillips has crafted a story that will keep you glued to the page, needing to know what is going to happen next.

I've been anxiously awaiting this book ever since I read a snippet of it in the back of Perfect Fit. Because while I loved Mike, I had a feeling Cole was going to be off the charts amazing. And OMG he is.

Cole is one of those heroes you love from the get go. Because of his relationship with his dad he doesn't think he deserves happiness and especially not Erin. It takes everything in him to stay away from her after their one night together. But when she's shot and he finds out she's pregnant with his baby all bets are off.

Erin is the complete opposite of Cole. She grew up knowing she was loved and had worth. Her attraction to Cole throws her off balance as he is nothing like the men she usually dates and when she finds out she's pregnant it sends her into a tailspin where he is concerned.

I loved this story. Watching Cole and Erin fall in love and then figure out how to have a relationship all while maintaining their emotional distance was a lot of fun as neither one of them knew what they were doing. They both wanted that elusive family, and neither of them knew how to compromise. It was either all or nothing.

Add in the identity of her stalker and her tie to Cole and it makes it a happily ever after unattainable at least in Cole's mind.

I wasn't sure how this was going to be resolved but I should have trusted in Carly because the resolution was perfect for them. Anything less wouldn't have made sense for who they were as individuals and as a couple.

One thing I have to say is that after reading several of Carly's books her heroes get better and better. I thought Mike was OMG amazing, but Cole is soooo much better. And the tattoo that Carly leaves to our imagination just makes him so much better. Cole has unseated Mike as my favorite of Carly's heroes.

If you love hot tortured cop heroes then you won't want to miss Cole's fall.

Grade: A+

Assistant District Attorney Erin Marsden has no problem being classified as the town good girl. Then, on the night of her brother’s wedding, Erin throws caution to the wind and has a one-night stand with bad boy Cole Sanders. What was only supposed to be one night turns into something much more when Erin learns that she’s pregnant.

Manhattan cop Cole Sanders has returned to his hometown to recover from his last undercover assignment. He’s not looking for a relationship — his past makes him feel like he’s unworthy of a woman like Erin — but he can’t get the beautiful lawyer out of his mind. When he learns she’s carrying his child, things only get more complicated between them…and that’s before a crazed stalker takes a shot at Erin. Cole’s determined to stay in Serendipity and act as Erin’s bodyguard until whoever’s targeting her is caught. What he doesn’t count on is the growing urge to stay in Serendipity with Erin, to prove that he’s capable of the love and commitment she and their child deserve.

Though it’s hard to pick a favorite Carly Phillips novel, PERFECT FLING just might be it for me. Cole and Erin’s romance was enthralling and I could not put PERFECT FLING down!

Cole is a man whose upbringing has left its mark on him. Combined with the isolated nature of his career, he’s not at ease around people, even those as warm and accepting as Erin. Cole is such a wonderful hero that it just about broke my heart that he didn’t see his true value as a person. Cole endeared himself to me immediately with his all-out sex appeal, protectiveness and vulnerability. I wanted to see him find happiness with Erin because they both deserved it. Erin is loving, caring and smart — my favorite kind of heroine. She’s got a spine of steel and an open heart and that made her absolutely perfect for Cole. As a couple, Erin and Cole are dynamite. The road to happily ever after is filled with ups and downs for them, but the journey is one well worth taking.

The threat of danger from a stalker, work troubles and family issues are as important to the story as the romance, making PERFECT FLING a “full” story. How the various plotlines weave together gives the feeling that you’re living in Serendipity alongside Erin and Cole. I love how Ms. Phillips’s writing makes me feel like I’m part of the Serendipity community. After finishing a SERENDIPITY novel I always end up feeling like I’m leaving the town, which I hate to do.

PERFECT FLING can easily be read as a standalone, although it is the second book in Ms. Phillips’s SERENDIPITY’S FINEST trilogy, featuring the Marsden siblings. The SERENDIPITY’S FINEST series is a continuation of the SERENDIPITY series, so fans like myself are sure to be happy to see familiar faces popping up throughout Erin and Cole’s book. The only downside to reading PERFECT FLING is that I want to read the next SERENDIPITY’S FINEST book, PERFECT TOGETHER, right now!

Maybe it’s not the author entirely; maybe it’s me, and maybe I’m increasingly less enamored with romances than I used to be. It’s not about a lack of talent on the part of the author; I’m just increasingly convinced that all the ways to describe encounters between two people aren’t really all that different and mostly not all that inspiring.

Erin is the assistant District Attorney in her community. She has always been her town’s good girl, a designation she doesn’t even mind or reject. Cole Sanders was the town bad boy. His real dad couldn’t control him; his stepdad did better, but Cole is still the quiet enigma who has traveled some dark and ugly roads as an undercover law enforcement guy. He’s also the guy that good-girl Erin had a crush on as a teenager. And now he’s back in town, and the two, being a bit bored and having a long night ahead of them, agree to a quickie in the sack with no commitments, no future, and no repeats.

Erin doesn’t need protection; her monthly cycle is just around the corner. So by now you’re yawning cause you’ve already guessed this highly predictable plot. If you assumed Erin got pregnant and chalked her early symptoms off to anything but pregnancy, you get to go to the head of the class.

The book becomes slightly less predictable when someone takes a shot at Erin, wounding her enough to require hospitalization. Oh, but who’s gonna watch over the fragile Erin while she recovers? Hmm. Seems bad-boy Cole is the only guy in town with enough time on his hands to do the job. You can yawn again, cause it’s gonna get really predictable from here again. Neither of them can keep their promises of no more sex, and he learns she’s carrying his child, and he’s smitten all the more despite his life of lonely work where no family ties are a definite advantage.

The other aggravation for me with the book is that these characters seem kind of slow and clueless. You’ll figure out long before they do, based on notes received from the shooter, who’s trying to kill Erin. You may even find yourself between yawns blurting out something like, “Get a clue!”

The performance of the NLS narrator (with apologies to those of you who aren't eligible to listen to the NLS narrator) was the best part of the book.

Again, try not to take this as a swipe at an author. Phillips is well beloved in the romance book community, and she’s certainly not some kind of untalented rank amateur. There are just some books that you and I will never be able to build bridges to. This book was such a book for me.

Carly Phillips never ceases to amaze me when I pick up one of her books and Perfect Fling was no exception. Able to make you feel the connection between not just the characters but what they are dealing with her writing style takes you into their hearts, souls, and the pains of their past making you feel a part of their lives without being aware.

Ms. Phillips has this uncanny ability to create characters that are a perfect blend for one another; in this case Erin was light to Cole’s darkness.

However, both strong and determined in their own way to do what is best for the other. Cole Sanders lets that of his past dictate his future and that has made him into the man he is distant, hard, and cool, he has chosen a job that keeps him on a fine from that is reality and what isn’t where he doesn’t have to be himself. The man he doesn’t seem to like very much.

I didn’t think it was possible for Carly Phillips to write such a male especially after her last book where we meet Mike Marsden but I was so wrong. Cole is the mysterious, the dangerous and the tortured soul you want to fix, and he is F**KIN Perfect! Your heart bleeds for him, you get angry at him and you want to hold him all at the same time. I loved Mike, didn’t think I could replace him or Dare but Cole definitely did.
Erin Marsden is just as strong and stubborn as the man she once knew long ago. One night when she lets her defenses down changes her life forever. Erin is smart she knows there are secrets hidden behind Cole’s armor but he’s also a different man when he’s with her. Yet their one night turns into the forever kind and Erin must show him that he’s every bit of worth to her.

When the dangers of Cole’s job threaten Erin’s life Cole does all he can to protect her even if that means walking away. Yet, when Erin is the one that pulls away Cole realized that sometimes letting go of the past is what you need to do to move ahead and grab what you want and it’s much better done when you’re not alone.

One thing you can always count on in a Carly Philips book her storylines are real and sometimes heartbreaking yet in the end she brings healing where it needs to be.

This comes so close to being a favorite. Erin was wonderful - I loved her and could completely relate to her. I was so proud of how smart and honest she was.

Cole is a guy I could love and understand but geez he's smarter than he acted. His mind fuck just went on and on, and a guy that smart should have figured something out a little sooner. Other than that irritation, I enjoyed the book greatly. His turnaround was pretty quick and drastic once he got to it; I'm not sure that feels totally believable no matter how much I appreciated it.

I thought the sex scenes were especially well done and stimulating in this book. I want some detail and sensual descriptions but also to leave enough to one's own imagination. This seemed to be the right balance.

I love this town, its characters and seeing bits of them is like the joy of old friends. I definitely will keep reading this series. It's easy and comfortable to read with the town and characters well-loved and many known to us. It could be read without having read the others but its more emotionally satisfying to have gone in order I think. I get a warm feeling and smile when I read a bit about old favored characters. For example, Tess is driving now!

This book feels like it had to be written at least 30 years ago. The author has no understanding of what bipolar illness is. Worse the MMC’s father abused him his entire life, and this author feels like the end of the novel should be the FMC encouraging the MMC to have a relationship with the father and then make sure that they do. I was very troubled by that.

The entire premise of the book is that this man cannot form a relationship because of the emotional abuse his father gave him and we see over and over again how his father treats him like a piece of poo poo, and yet the FMC still encourages him to have a relationship with his father. That made me sick.

And just one final annoying thing in the book, when the FMC walks into the hospital and sees the MMC‘s father’s doctor, that doctor immediately says to her, I recognize your name, because your father came to me with cancer and the doc proceeds to explain her father‘s illness to her, That doctor would be sued to eternity for all the information he let out.

What a great book, this is second in the Serendipity's Finest Series, and each one just keeps getting better with each one that Carly Phillips cranks out!

This book is about good girl, Erin, who has a one night stand with bad boy, Cole. There one night leads to her being pregnant and now someone is out to take her out and so Cole decides to be her "bodyguard".
They fight their feelings for each other and Cole must decide if he wants to take a chance and make a life with family and friends or be left in his own darkness...

This book is a well written with great characters and the plot has such a sweet, humorous, sexy storyline. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves to read about a bad boy, alpha-male taking the plunge into falling in love!

Perfect Fling
…a one-night stand and baby makes three. It is a premise that has been overdone but this time it works. Erin Marsden is the good girl Assistant DA who wakes up in Cole Sanders’, the requisite bad boy, bed the morning after. This is the beginning of what will turn out to be one of the best books you will read by this author! Neither one wanted to pursue the sparks but a threat to Erin’s safety and the pregnancy that brought them together (thank you very much) will make them both take a closer at each other, their respective lives, and a happily ever after in the end is the ultimate prize.

Fun sexy read. A one night stand that results in pregnancy? Never saw it coming. I'm not good enough for you whining that he finally get over? Never saw it coming. Bad boy's actually a good guy? Never saw it coming. Who is the mystery stalker? Never saw it coming.

OK, so no surprises here. There were no "What??!!" moments. Everything is telegraphed ahead, then sent invitations, and then announced before it actually shows up at the door. So much so that by the time whatever thing actually happens you are already looking at the next thing down the line waiting for IT to happen.

So fun sexy read - totally predictable and unoriginal - but a fun sexy read none the less.

Cole's feelings were so all over the place even he didn't know what he wanted. The mixed signals he was sending were enough to confuse anyone. Erin was quick to call him out when he said one thing but acted in a conflicting manor. It was good to see her push, since that was clearly what he needed.

Erin was an optimist who would have become annoying, but she had a temper that balanced out her innate goodness. She wasn't perfect, but she owned her flaws and mistakes.

They had a good support system. Many characters from past books showed up, but not in an obtrusive way.

well, 4 stars because I'm a goner for pregnancy stories.

Erin is pregnant after a night of sex with no strings and Cole wants no commitment but he's ready to step up for the child.

Another man with commitment issues, what a bore!

I didn't like so much and Erin was a sort of saint to put up with him! I can relate with his problems with his father, because his father was bad, but just because you have a bad parent, it doesn't mean you cannot be a better person!

Cole was mulish and unreasonable and I didn't like him very much! ;)

I love it!!!!
Erin and Cole are so funny together and sweet. I loved that we get to hear about the others in Serendipity. I can't wait for Sam and Nicole's book and see them falling in love with eachother. I loved how Erin put Jed in his place when it came to Cole and their relationship as father and son.
This was a fantastically written and the characters were just amazing to read about. Carly Phillips did an awesome job writing this book.

It was kind of a hard book to get through. The plot was okay but I thought that the more amorous scenes overshadowed the characters in the novel. Don't get me wrong, love scenes are all well and good, but it frustrates me when they are more highlighted than the plot of a novel. However I did enjoy the plot well enough. I'm not sure whether I will continue the series or not, but we'll see

This story had a good plot line for me to enjoy, but I found the pace just a little too slow for my tastes. But, overall, I enjoyed the storyline. Cole is just a man that you can't help but love. And Erin's determination to make him see the error in his ways just makes you love her as well.

The Perfect Fling? More like the perfect romance. I laughed, I cried, my glasses got a little steamed up. Phillips' Serendipity series is just fantastic and Erin and Cole made reading fun.
