What does a crew of interplanetary explorers do when entrapped by an unresolvable paradox? Who would believe in a religion that was designed to order? What happens when perfect musical planning meets the realities of imperfect performance? And what determines the winner in a technology-enhanced future running of the Boston Marathon? Here are four previously unpublished upbeat science fiction short stories selected from Requisite Collected Short Fiction by Lior Samson (Gesher Press, 2011; 978-0-9843772-3-7). Like the other 20 stories found in Requisite Variety, these stories examine the interfaces between human beings and the technology they create and use.
Four short stories, all containing some speculative element. Of the lot, my favorite was "Will of the Minority." But I enjoyed the author's voice and style, and would definitely read more by him again.
