Sage
Love thy neighbor, that’s what the good book says. But it’s hard to love your neighbor when he is loud and annoying. Don’t even get me started with that dog of his. To make matters worse, he looks like a paper cut out in a sports magazine. When I talk to him, I feel butterflies flutter in my stomach, see he disrupts my peace. I miss the days when my neighborhood was peaceful and quiet.

Zac
I’m trying to find balance in my life. From my kids to my new house, I feel overwhelmed. Then there is my gorgeous neighbor. There are days I want to say hi, but how can I when she walks past me like I don’t exist. It’s like a broom stick is permanently shoved up her– I have children now I can’t use the words I want to use. Maybe one day I will find peace in this new neighborhood.
Will these two neighbors continue to live in chaos, or will they learn to love each other like they love themselves?

didn’t like the writing style, none of these characters talked like real people. the dialogue was just terrible and there was a few grammatical errors in there.

Promising, but....

This story had so much potential but started falling apart at the halfway point. Sage and Zac are neighbors. She is enraged from his loud noises and refuses to even say hello to him. When she decides to march to his front door because his dog messed up her yard, she finally comes face to face with him around the same time when his newfound twins started living with him.

And guess what? All the anger and resentment disappear, and they start dating. Then, a villain emerges, and things start spiraling out of control. Many of the events felt thrown together and illogical, and several word-usage errors just put the cap on a fine mess. It was a struggle to complete reading this one. What a shame.

KT this book was definitely worth the wait... I have laughed my face off with this book. I love Sage and Zac's relationship.. it started out as a hate to love type of relationship, then you got the messy ex hook up causing drama.... this heifer needed her tail whooped and gets just what she deserved.... okay, if you haven't purchased or read this book!!! I’m really sorry, I tried but it just didn’t hit it for me. I will say this book has loads of potential! It would also need a thorough edit. There are several spelling and grammatical errors and missing words.
Now I don’t mind insta love and especially in short stories , but I think it’s really a challenge to do that when kids are involved. Also there was just too much that happened. It would have been better if for example he’d always been a dad and she was for example the nanny. But how everything went with the kids and that whole dynamic just didn’t sit well with me.
Also it started as more of a romcom and then at the 50% mark just seemed to go dark and crazy!

I’m sorry (I don’t want to offend anyone) but this does a horrible job of portraying black women. I mean the dialogue is horrible.

Exhibit A: "Noble? You make it sound so unexpected. Was your dad not around?"
"What, because I'm black you think he wasn't around? He was around. I did come from a good home with married parents. Don't stereotype me." I'm a little irritated by his remark.
He raises his eyebrows. "No, no, sorry. I didn't mean for it to come out like that."

No more evidence needed. I rest my case.

So Cute

Truthfully, I loved everything about this book. It was such a cute romance. There were a couple of twists in the story but I love how it all circled back to the main characters without wasting too much time. The character development was nice and this book ended with the perfect setup for book 2. Now I’ll be impatiently waiting for it.

Great read

I was waiting for this book and let me say I was not disappointed!!! I can say I wasn’t expecting all the drama that was in it but I am here for all of it. Love Sage and Zac. The evolution of their relationship was very organic and didn’t seemed forced. You could feel that they had strong feelings for each other before they said anything. And Emily was a great and unexpected addition! Gave the story more depth. And Sage’s sisters gave me life! The different personalities just make m think of my own family. This was a great read and I hope we here more from these characters

Beautiful written

This is my second book by this author and I’m not disappointed. There were times that I wanted to 👋🏾 Zac but he redeemed himself. All in all it was a really cute quick read. Now Eryx and Anise’s story I’m positive will be a wild ride. I can’t wait

I need to vent about this one!

The three stars are mostly for the possibilities that this could’ve been a great book. It started off good. Then it was a completely big let down. Firstly it felt rushed to me. Like their relationship needed more depth. I didn’t even feel a connection between the 2 MC’S or Zac with his kids. I honestly was more interested in the background characters. How do you ask somebody on a date when you meeting your kids for the first time since they’ve been born that day? Then you have a date at your house and get upset at your daughter, but tell both of your kids to go upstairs without even communicating with your son🤔 The worst part of the story to me was the crazy lady I felt like she should not have even had a part in the story at all if the story delve deeper into the characters and building their relationship, she would not have been necessary! And him not calling the police or restraining order after he caught her in his kids room is crazy to me. Also, Zac seem more interested in getting in the MC pants, then actually build a relationship as I stated before I did not feel the connection because things were being told to us rather shown through actions. Zac seemed angry lot to me. It is just disappointing to me because this book has so much potential.!

😩 I didn’t like it and I really wanted to

I love KT Adler. Shes a hard worker. She really tries… and I really like her previous work but this is a no for me.
The character build up is perfect! I love Sage, Zac and all the supporting characters but the storyline is very immature, forced, predictable, cringe worthy and overdone.
I didn’t like Zac having kids but okay that grew on me. The book title is the family man right… right.
Even though the first sex scene was bland, took a while to arrive and was nothing special, I was trying to give it a chance until Zac’s jealous ex sex partner Emily showed up… between her hiring Sage, Zac breaking up with Sage, then Emily kidnapping Zac’s kids in a jealous rage, I was done. I saw KT called this a RomCom but I was really hoping for more maturity, better sex scenes and a less cliche storyline in this book. I could already see the build up for additional character books… I love KT but I’ll pass.

The story was okay. I really have to give it such a low rating due to the enormous number of grammatical errors. If a person wants to earn their living by the written word, they should invest the time to be sure their missive is grammatically correct. There are numerous incidents where there are mixed tense in the same sentence. Also several instances of using the wrong pronoun, such as using he instead of she or vice versa. Also many instances where prepositions and conjunctions are missing, the wrong word inserted and misspelling uncorrected. Example " I bend down and wipe her Anise tears away." This sentence makes no sense, even if I can figure out what the author meant to write. These grammatical errors interrupt the flow of the narrative and, at least for me, have me concentrating on the errors more than on the story. I like to read the offerings of indie and self published writers, but I find this to be a frequent complaint when doing so. These authors must learn to edit and proof read their work and not leave it up to autocorrect or other people who do not have a good grasp on proper grammar and sentence construction. Most readers are interested in a variety of authors and when you read books published by professional well known authors, and then read one of these, the difference wrought by editing and proofreading is glaring. Also at least 3 times there is an inappropriate use of / as some sort of punctuation mark or bridge in a sentence.
I felt that while there may have been an instant attraction, once the couple actually met, the immediate advancement into insta-love was a bit forced. Also since Sage was described as a woman of 30, I was surprised and disappointed when she didn't at least insist on the use of a condom, when she acquiesced to their first sexual encounter, when she knew that less than 2 weeks prior to that he had been having sex with another woman. This action totally belies the likely reaction of a character described as having OCD, who didn't want to walk across a field, or get dirty by sitting in one. How could she be less fastidious about her sexual health and well being? Also what person finds an intruder in his children's bedroom and doesn't at the very least make some sort of police report, and or get a restraining order? He may be new to parenthood, but that sort of creepy behavior doesn't require expertise as a parent, to register as potentially psychotic. Then when she invades his work space he still doesn't report her behavior to the police. How can a wealthy man not at least respond by either reporting her to the police or installing some sort of security? Also, what sort of school has he installed his children in that would let them go off with someone not on an approved list, without at least contacting the parent? These items may build up the crazy ex storyline but they do not ring true.

“The Family Man Series Book 1” by KT Adler is a delightful and engaging read that captures the essence of a five-star rating. This book has all the elements of a compelling story with strong main characters, a dose of humor from hilarious side characters, a touch of psycho fling drama, and heartwarming moments with adorable children.

Sage, the protagonist, is frustrated by her neighbors’ loud music and revolving door of women, but things take an intriguing turn when she crosses paths with Zac.

Zac who finds himself unexpectedly becoming the sole provider for twin kids he never knew existed, has to embark on a journey of navigating parenthood while discovering a blossoming relationship with Sage. On top of that Emily the psycho is lurking and isn’t giving up so easily.

What makes this book stand out are the Loveridge sisters, who are an absolute riot, especially the character Anise. Their presence adds an extra layer of laughter and entertainment to the story. Adler skillfully weaves the narrative, making it impossible to put the book down, and leaving readers eagerly anticipating the stories of the other sisters.

I thoroughly enjoyed “The Family Man Series Book 1” from its captivating beginning to its heartwarming conclusion. It’s a heartwarming and charming romance that keeps you hooked throughout. I wholeheartedly recommend this book to anyone in search of a delightful and entertaining read.

The pacing for this story felt off, events moved much too quickly. Sage goes from hating her neighbor Zac to swooning after officially meeting him, going on a date and committing all within a week.

Plus, she knows he was just making a woman scream like a banshee the week prior and she slept with him without the discussion of birth control or condoms. It was eww for me without this discussion. The kids were adorable. I'm not opposed to OW drama but the sidepiece was way OTT.

As for Sage's sisters, I found them for the most part, quite annoying—perhaps because I have no sisters, but four brothers. Having said that, I'm definitely interested in Anise's Story as well as Rosemary and I hope Daire is matched with one of the spice sisters. Lastly, this story needed another read through, too many errors that should have been caught prior to releasing. Overall, the story was an okay read.

Recommended: Read it!

This book came at the right time, I loved the characters the multiple pov's. I especially enjoyed the closeness of the four sisters. Found out from the author that each sister will have their own book so I'm definitely looking forward to those. The thing about a good book with its side characters is that they always intrigue u to the point u want to know more about them so aside from Zac's brother Daire there was Brooks and the mention of his brother Cian I mean come on I'm very curious what their stories could be about. So here's hoping. My only regret is that it wasn't longer because I did want to know the progress of the restaurant as well as any awards and Michelin stars he may have received, so hopefully a few more pages in the other books to follow with updates as well. A very adorable read.

Was enjoying this book until the crazy ex showed up and then I was confused cause i thought this was a romcom? That’s how the story started out. The author needs to spend more time developing the characters. Both sage and Zac came off as one note people. Why is Zac such an asshole and why was sage so quick to sleep with him knowing he’s a whore? This book needed better editing. I did not like the style of writing. There were sentences that either were unnecessary or didn’t make sense. Don’t get me started on poppy and nik. I feel like authors need to stop writing children like they’re adults. Every child does not need to be precocious.

This book had a lot of potential. With fully fleshed out characters and romance , a good editor and leaving out the crazy ex plot this book could have been really good.

While on its premise the storyline was promising, the execution left a lot to be desired. They hate each other in one chapter, and they are dating in another; then we have instalove/lets get married. It would not have taken much more to build up to them actually liking each other outside of sexual tension. Ok...I get it. He is the typical tall white sexy guy with a big...um...feet, and she is the typically written black woman with a butt and hips for days. Outside of that we got nothing redeeming on personality or energy.

The fact that an editor was needed took away from the story as well for me. But I enjoyed the banter between the sisters so I gave it 2.5 stars and am interested in reading the story of the next sister and her baby daddy.

Not For the Whole Family

I really wanted to give this five stars because I just knew I was going to love it based off of the premise and the reviews. But I’m not sure what exactly the other reviewers read. There were so many editing errors; simple spelling ones, missing words, as well as grammatical ones. Then there was the fact that the story just moved too quickly and made little sense. What kind of person would make a date with a neighbor and start a brand new relationship within the same week of obtaining custody of their children that they had never had laid eyes on in five years??!!?? I suppose a self-sabotaging one like his brother suggested, but to me, it seems more like a reckless and selfish kind of one.

Awww, so cute and good!!!

First time reading this author and I am loving it. This was so good, refreshing, albeit too short but was still good.
Zac and Sage were true opposites that has a strong attraction. They complimented each other and the way MS. Adler incorporated Poppy and Nikhil was beautiful. It felt real, not forced at all… perfection at its best! Anise, Rosemary, Cassia and Daire were so good for them.
That said, besides not having not even an inkling or some type of verbal interaction with both sets of parents, I also felt that this was missing the kick, the humph 😤 that would elevate it.
In any case can’t wait to read about the others specially Anise and maybe Daire will go to

Those sisters are awesome!!!!

I read the books out of order, so I met Anise and Eryx first. I loved Anise's story, but Sage and Zac gave them a run for their money. I liked how it started with him being a thoughtless jerk. I loved the throwing dog mess "fight". It got the kids to laugh. Loved how Sage interacted with the kids making inroads before Zac could. I knew Emily was a psycho when she broke into his house and was in the kids' room. I'm glad you focused Emily's anger on Zac even though she was pissed with Sage because she saw her as taking her man. Glad the kids didn't get too hurt, even though there has to be some.damage there. Great story!

Zac & Sage

Zac weren’t ready to be a father, he was living his bachelor’s life and his dream to be a restaurateur… Well, out of “nowhere “ 2 beautiful kids, a set of twins that were his … And his gorgeous neighbor, who won’t even acknowledging him, that is until she stepped on dog poop 💩 & that said dog belong to the annoying, loud & inconsiderate neighbor !?!! 😜
She went to his house to let him have it …!

Get your copy and see what happened…
Can’t wait to read the rest of the “Spicy “ sisters’s stories.

Amazing Read

This story was a fun one full of family love. You had Sage, her sisters as well as Zac his two kids, and his Brother Daire. I absolutely loved the sibling aspect with each of the characters. The way that the "Spice Girl" sisters were with each other was hilarious well as loving the bond that they shared was magical. Sage and Zac were not the best of neighbors at first and you will never believe what happened to finally get these two to see each other in a different light. And when they do, Baaaby it's on.

Too Short but so good

KT has done it again. This was a quick read. Zac is Sage's Neighbor. He's gorgeous but annoying to sage. They finally meet and Sage was rude to him. Eventually they hit it off after Sage makes a good impression to his kids. I did not want this story to end. I love how both, Zac and Sage, were adults. Em....now that girl was crazy. Another reason I wish it was longer to get into Em's mindset and their Backstory. Overall, a great read.

Pretty good

Overall it was a good read. But I would suggest sending it to a better editor. One of my pet peeves when reading is confusion from misplaced or wrong words that make me have to reread a sentence to figure out what it’s trying to convey. Almost stopped reading the book because of it. But I always like her books so worked my way through. Other than that, I enjoyed it and will try the next one in the series.

Not Bad

Not a bad book I found it to be just ok. In the beginning I laughed out loud at the antics and comments made. However, the dog poop had me hollering. I thought the storyline with Emily was not needed. Yes, it could have been mentioned but, not needed. I would have preferred for the author to continue the story solely based on Zac, Sage and the kids along with the sister's of course.

BWWM romantic story of enemies to lovers with unexpected single father and a meet/cute that created some laughs. Unrealistic merging of families in my opinion would have appreciated more time to blossom that piece within the story but with the stalker/kidnapping take taking a chunk of the story resulting in that immediate love and bonding through trauma. However, it was an easy read from start to finish with a happily ever after.
