Being stuck in my feline form is really putting the cat in cat-astrophe.
Baelen, my fanged soul mate, is all that I have now. But barely surviving being possessed by the shadow, and using our power to heal a portal, he is exhausted and guilt ridden.
My bond with my witch, Charlie, feels…broken. I can’t find him, feel him, and I don’t know what happened to him after I was betrayed and tricked by yet another witch I foolishly trusted. But since I’m still alive, there’s hope that he is too.
While Zaide, my soul pair, has been taken by hunters. Why they’ve taken him, as well as other witches on the island we were hiding on, rather than killing them is anyone’s guess but my mind stumbles over the same question; will we be too late to rescue him?
Knowledge is power and we’ve been lacking in both no matter how hard we’ve tried to get ahead. But fate is on our side and as my powers change and grow, I learn more about my enemy…the bad and the good.
The future is uncertain but I know one thing for sure, when I get the chance for revenge…I’ll take it. No matter the stain on my soul. I won't allow anyone I love to suffer again.

The release of Catastrophe felt like fate. The day I started wondering about this book and why it had been that long since I’ve heard from this author was the day I spotted the message it would take ten more days before release day. This is one of those series that occasionally moves through my mind at the weirdest moments, simply because it’s an original storyline and I’m always curious to see where the characters are at. Waiting for the next book was never about a lack of patience, but more about looking forward to see them once again.
So, Catastrophe was a long awaited book and I’m happy with the path the characters took in it. For me this story is the perfect balance between plot and spice; I love the plot development and all the unexpected twists and turns along the way, and the spice always feels fitting with the storyline. I love the mix of species in this series, where paranormal and sci fi tropes mesh together perfectly and while I love the main characters, it’s also wonderful how fleshed out many of the side characters are.
All in all, it’s amazing how much this series contains. There is lots of character building, both from main and side characters, lots of world building, a found family and so many twists and turns it’s impossible to predict the ending of each book. Only one more book to go, and I already know getting my hands on that one will be bittersweet.
DNF. I can't believe how disappointing this series has been. It's like a really trashy TV show, and I can't stop watching it.
The characters are stuck in a frustrating loop. One of the MMCs gets captured, and the FMC recklessly rushes in to rescue him, jeopardising her life and the lives of the entire team. The stakes are high—if one of them dies, they all die—but somehow, their critical mission, which has been woven into the plot since the second book, keeps getting pushed aside.
At least this time, the FMC recognises her mistakes, admitting her naivety and her tendency to trust the wrong people. Meanwhile, the menace of the evil dragon and his minions looms large, while these characters remain entangled in their own futile pursuits. Now, four books into the series, we're finally being fed the villain's backstory, seemingly to evoke sympathy from the female lead. It's high time I step off this crazy train.

There is no word for how much I love this series! Catastrophe was definitely another hit for me. It was full of action, self discoveries and feelings. I was so worried after last book, but the beginning of Catastrophe put most of my fears to rest. Although now I'm worried about other things XD but seriously, it's so worth it! The characters are great, I love Clawdia and her guys so much! They have a lot of challenges thrown their ways, but they fight through them, mostly together. Gotta say, I'm happy Karin and Mary got some karma sent their way. I'm also mighty curious about Michael. But most of all, I am so excited for the next book, even if it's gonna be the last one.
The quality of this series is degrading quickly. This one was littered with so many typos and grammatical errors that it got annoying to read. Are editors really that expensive?
“You try telling a cat what to do. See how well that goes for you.” Hahahaha I just love Clawdia's cat sass and the banter between them all is brilliant.
And this gives a whole new meaning to he washes her hair.. ha!
