This is book one of the Cowboys, Ropes and Kisses series and the main characters are trick rider Bailey Martin and pro bull rider Rick Campbell who is close to becoming the champion. This is the first rodeo circuit Rick has seen Bailey at and his other rodeo friends have some apt words to use to describe her out of the ring. Apparently she has been out with a ton of different men and then dumps them shortly after and he isn’t sure of that until he sees it happen in town, with Duke Ellwood. But Bailey has a very serious reason why she has always picked on a local man to take her out, as she looks for her horse, who was stolen along with two others belonging to her friends. She’s actually using these men as security for her, as she goes to different stables pretending to be looking for a horse to buy, but in fact looking for her own! When Rick sees Duke seemingly being aggressive towards Bailey, he steps up to protect her. This starts them off in the same routine, as she asks if he would come with her to see a horse the next day.
One of the places she ends up trying to find, was too difficult to find and could have placed her in a very dangerous position. Rick ends up taking her to see one of his good friends who runs a stables and could have a horse she might want to buy. She gets him to stop along the driveway and performs a weird ritual, something she does when she sees a few horses in the distance in a paddock. Rick’s friend quickly figures out what she is actually doing and looking for and suggests they look at the property over the hill from his. Her ritual brings her a result she wasn’t expecting and rather than wait for Rick to get some help from his friend, she takes a move of her own. This is soon traced back to her and places her in a dangerous position with a ruthless criminal now on her tail. Helping Bailey soon has Rick completely involved and falling for this feisty woman, who he finds out has been searching for her beloved horse for months. The fact this story is so true to what is happening all over the country, makes for a very realistic tale. Bailey is out there hunting down her favourite horse, stolen by criminals trading in horse flesh and fortunately for her, not sent to the knackers yard! A realistic storyline that combines rodeo stars with romance and a HEA ending.

“Bull Rider: Another Heart Bites the Dust” is a cowboy/cowgirl romantic suspense by Maggie Carpenter. It combines good characters, an intriguing story, and plenty of steam for an entertaining story.
Bailey is a talented trick rider on an emotional mission more dangerous than her riskiest athletic stunts; she’s searching for the horse that stole her beloved mare and the horses of her two close friends. Traveling with the rodeo circuit makes it easier for her to make inquiries and search. She is well aware that what she’s doing is dangerous, so she always tries to get a cowboy to accompany her when she looks at horses that might be her own. Rick is a professional bull rider. He’s on the way to having his most successful year ever and needs to focus on his career. Bailey, though, is a delightful distraction. She’s got something of a reputation for the way she dates and ditches cowboys, but he senses there’s more to her than meets the eye. Despite that, he’s still shocked when he finds out what she’s really up to. He wants to help her – but he’s also determined to keep her safe.
The author does a good job of creating a world in which her characters live. Bailey and Rick are both interesting and multidimensional, each having depths that most people never see. His desire to help her is as strong as the instant attraction between them. Their steamy connection is intensified by moments of domestic discipline. There are a nice array of secondary characters (including some villains!) who each add even more depth and interest to the story. I enjoyed the ending, and hope to see some of the other characters in future books by this author.

'Bull Rider' is the first book in Maggie Carpenter's new series "Cowboys, Ropes, and Kisses" and if you're a Maggie Carpenter fan, then you know she can tell a tale about cowboys like no other author. This storyline is filled with angst, drama, suspense, and danger while passion grows and explodes between Rick Campbell, a bull rider, and Bailey Martin, a stunt rider. Both are highly competitive and accomplished when it comes to riding. At this stage, Bailey has had her horse stolen and she's trying, very discretely, to get answers and doesn't care how she gets them. Rick, on the other hand, has heard and seen how Bailey goes through cowboys and comes to the conclusion she's there for more than just the competition and he intends to get his own answers. Ok, you know there's going to be at least one or two spankings along the way. It's a great storyline with strong characters and a plot that kept me riveted every step of the way.

She’s on a mission that has the potential of being dangerous, but she’s so focused on her goal that she’s taking too many risks.
Maggie is so skillful with her narrative and dialogue that Rick and Bailey’s encounters are realistic, sexy, and witty. Rick deals with her reckless behavior with spankings and she loves it! Their personalities match so well and their relationship grows stronger. Friends, horses, and a few criminals make this story very entertaining.

Well, this one took me by surprise!
This is a New Author for me and I was beyond impressed!
Ms. Carpenter had me hook, line and sinker from the first paragraph!
I've read a lot of books in my lifetime and she just stole the show!
This wasn't your typical rodeo, cowboy cowgirl story and it was Amazing!
Fast paced action, suspense, drama, and sparks and chemistry out of the world!
Rick and Bailey had that something, something that you just know is going be the beginning of a Great Love story. I was not disappointed!
Add some great heat where you want it most and BANG! Its on like Donkey Kong! Lol
Now, I really Need the next in the series and anything of Maggie Carpenter's in my TBR pile! Thank you so much for a great Book!

A FIVE STAR ! ♥️
I LOVE cowboys. Strong, sexy, protective, bossy cowboys; and I LOVE stories about them. In this new adventure series, rodeo cowboys are featured and this first one explodes out of the chute. I loved the characters and was elated to learn that some will continue to appear in the series as the stories are created. This is one of the best I’ve ever read and I couldn’t put it down until the end. It’s a brand spanking new one that kept me enthralled. I’ve kept it to read again, and I will, the day I purchase book two.

Bailey is a serial dater, never serious about anyone. She talks Rick into accompanying her to look at a potential horse to purchase. He realizes that she's really trying to track down her stolen mare. With her singular focus, he has to figure out how to keep her safe. (Hint: she's gonna have trouble sitting down.) There's not much I like better than a good cowboy romance. Rick's a bit bossy, but he's sexy AF, a real keeper. The author certainly knows how to keep my interest. This was exactly what a "Maggie" book normally is - great little romance with the discipline needed for the gutsy woman who loved her horse so much that she would take risks she shouldn't be taking! There was a lot to love about the characters in this delightful, fairly short book with an appropriate ending for the nasty horse thief.

Learning new tricks
BULL RIDER i8s the first book in the Cowboys, Ropes and Kisses series. I think I am going to really enjoy this series if the stories keep up the fun and heat that Bull Rider delivers. Bull and Trick riders come together in a story that definitely lasts longer than 8 seconds but rings a lot of bells along the way. All I can say is keep riding that bull and have a lot of fun doing it!!!

What a great book! It brings together a bull rider and a trick rider. The relationship between them grows as each one deals with their own challenges. Love develops and it is a exciting journey for them! Maggie Carpenter is at her best as she starts another series. I can’t wait for the next one!!!

I enjoyed the glimpse into the life of a traveling horserider. Whether you are on a bull or a trick rider what a rush to perform before an appreciative audience. How sad that there are people in the world without morals or decency. This was a good start to a great series.

Rick is a bull rider, and Bailey is a trick rider. Their chemistry is written wonderfully, and the plot flows seamlessly. There is suspense, steam, some scary moments, and a good story about the lengths someone will go to find what means the most to them. The author pulled me in right away and kept me engaged throughout the book. I look forward to reading the rest of this series.

The books like all her boons was so exciting from beginning to end you just couldnt put it down . and since I will be going into ths hospital for surgery and 4 weeks recovery I will have plenty of tine to reread all her books again.

I absolutely love the first book in the Cowboys, Ropes and Kisses series. Bailey is such a free spirit, and I totally love Edward for her. These two will keep you going from page one. I really live their story, and I always want more stories from this incredible author.
