It wasn't too bad but the countless bible quotes the MCs and supporting characters sprouted during everyday conversations always pulled me out of the story.

I've only read a few religious romances and it's always one of two ways, super preachy or manages to incorporate their religious beliefs subtly, through the MCs thoughts and actions. This one fell in the former category.

Simon and Riley's romance was a lot of push and pull and drama that could have been easily resolved if they just communicated with each other. Instead they make assumptions and agonize needlessly.

The age difference also felt off with Simon's ultimatum feeling manipulative and contradicting. One minute he is claiming to love Riley but in the next stating he wasn't waiting forever because he wanted a family and he wasn't getting any younger. Meaning he would marry and start a family with OW despite the fact he was in love with someone else?!?!

He wanted a wife and additional children. He prayed it would be with Riley but had to prepare in case that didn’t happen. He wasn’t getting any younger.

Simon knew one thing for certain: he would not wait forever. He was forty-two and time stood still for no man. He had plans and intended to carry them out with or without Riley – though he prayed it was with her.

Then there was Riley’s childhood trauma of being body shamed for being “chunky”. Since the age of 16, Riley’s been meticulous about eating right and exercising to stay in shape. She has a huge fear that if she allows herself to fall in love with someone she will eventually gain weight and they will leave her. I get this is a valid fear that she had to overcome but although she constantly brought it up (especially after finding out she’s preggars) there was not a lot of positive growth when it came to how they would deal with this issue long term. Simon makes a half-hearted attempt to tell her his love wouldn’t change if she did gain weight and he shows concern and attention to making sure she doesn’t overdue or endanger the baby during her pregnancy, but I felt this definitely deserved more page time to show they were overcoming her eating/dieting issues together, for the long haul, not just for the babies’ sake but for Riley’s overall mental and physical health.

Maybe because of the constant bible verses posted like neon signs throughout their story, every time they lied, deceived or kept secrets from each other, I felt my patience run out and frustration set in. I prefer characters show me they are good people through their actions. The author tells us rather than shows us and it didn't work for me. I found both MCs too immature to really warm up to either of them.

There were too many instances of double standards that didn’t let me enjoy this one. This was my first time reading this author but her writing style guarantees this will probably be my last.

My Rating: ★★★

I recently had the opportunity to read the ARC of "Simon," the second installment in the Sinful Seduction series by Dania Voss, courtesy of the author and BookSirens. As someone who hadn't read the first book in the series, I approached this novel with a mix of excitement and curiosity. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

The storyline revolves around Simon Knight and Riley Conner, two characters with a history of passion and unresolved emotions. The narrative explores the aftermath of a previous encounter that left Simon yearning for more and Riley fleeing the scene. As Simon seeks to prove himself as a serious family man for a business opportunity, Riley finds herself entangled in a complex web of lies, setting off a series of unintended events.

While the book was undoubtedly well written, I couldn't shake the feeling that I missed out on essential context by not having read the first book in the series. The characters' interactions and the references to past events left me occasionally feeling like an outsider, making it challenging to fully immerse myself in their world.

Setting aside this limitation, the novel was a delightful read. The writing was smooth, and the story flowed effortlessly. Dania Voss has a knack for crafting engaging narratives, and the pacing of the plot kept me hooked from start to finish. The characters, particularly Riley's evolution from the "chubby girl with a pretty face," added depth and relatability to the story.

The central theme of second chances and the intricacies of love and forgiveness was well portrayed. The emotional conflicts and dilemmas faced by the characters were palpable, and I found myself empathizing with their struggles. The exploration of Simon's desperation to secure a business deal and the unintended consequences that followed added a layer of complexity to the narrative.

Despite my initial reservations, I intend to revisit "Simon" after reading the first book in the Sinful Seduction series. I believe this will provide a more comprehensive understanding of the characters' backgrounds and relationships. For readers who have followed the series from the beginning, this book promises an enjoyable continuation of the Sinful Seduction saga.

In conclusion, "Simon" by Dania Voss is a well-crafted and engaging novel, but the absence of familiarity with the preceding book hindered my complete immersion in the story. I look forward to revisiting this installment after gaining a fuller understanding of the series.

A slip of the tongue traps Simon in a lie but it may be the one thing to prove his love to Riley. Simon, Sinful Seduction Book 2 is a steamy romance I couldn’t put down. There are the addictive characters. There’s the storyline. There’s the romance filled with tension and touching moments. Then there’s the spiritual life of several of the characters sprinkled throughout the story. Everything combines to make Simon, Sinful Seduction Book 2 an incredible romance.

Let’s start with the characters. The hero of this story is a virile man named Simon. He’s got plenty of sensuality to satisfy any woman. He’s got a heart of gold and a strong faith. He knows he wants Riley as his wife and does what it takes to prove his love to her. He’s also a single dad who loves his daughter. In my opinion, he ticks all the boxes for readers. I can’t tell you how many times my heart went out to him. Riley, on the other hand, took awhile for me to connect with. She’s got some emotional issues she’s got to deal with. I do like her feistiness, though. Their sparring had me whipping through the pages.

The descriptive narration is flawless. Every emotion, every scene, every obstacle is described with perfection. Dania Voss is one of those authors who writes intricately so the reader plunges into the story. The narration is the vehicle which zooms the story down the track. The narration also connects the reader to the characters.

The romance is emotional, steamy, and oh so delicious. There’s a lot of push and pull with this couple. There’s a lot of drama too. But there’s also sweetness and tender moments. A couple of popular tropes propel this romance. I enjoyed every minute.

Dania has penned an outstanding romance, one of her best. This couple will sink their claws into you.

Simon is the second book in the Sinful Seduction Series by Dania Voss. Simon Knight is an accomplished businessperson and single father, who has his eyes set on one woman, Riley Conner. Unfortunately, Riley is insecure about her body image and potential for weight gain, and she dismisses Simon's good intentions to date her after their occasional hookups. At a business dinner, Simon and his brother try to charm a business owner into allowing them to acquire his trade. Simon lies about his casual relationship with Riley. He makes the man and his wife believe he is engaged to Riley and the deal is sealed with the owners. Now, however, he must get Riley to agree to a fake marriage, but she's upset by his actions and more concerned than ever about guarding her heart.

If you like steamy romances with exceptional plots, Dania Voss has got you covered. Even though I hadn't read the first book, I jumped into the book without missing a beat. Voss spices up the story, but she focuses on much more than a sexual connection. The author developed her male protagonist into a sexy, strong, and a loving father, but he also has good business sense. If you've ever wanted a book boyfriend, Simon is certainly a great catch! The exchanges between Riley and him will keep readers guessing about the direction of their relationship until the final page. During the story, the characters reflect on biblical passages to confirm they're moving in the right direction. Simon is a great selection for readers who want to escape into their fantasies with a tattooed, muscular man with a good heart.

This story started off pretty sweet and good, but as it progressed I kind of lost interest and didn’t feel the same. I think it would have benefitted from being a bit longer so we could have more moments with Simon and Riley. In the beginning we get to see them together and how they interact but as the story moves on there’s not many interactions that you see. I felt like you learned more and it was focused more on the deals and business stuff that took place and there’s time jumps in areas where you should be seeing moments of the couple growing with each other. Riley is hesitant to be with Simon, while Simon is all in and I didn’t feel like I learned or saw much of how hesitant Riley was and how that changed due to them being together and spending time together. There’s also a lot of references to the Bible and verses from the Bible, which isn’t a bad thing but just not something I relate to or was expecting when I first started this story.

Simon Knight and Riley Conner have not only been on each others radar for years. One seems to be extreme and the other seems to be scared beyond belief.

Now Simon has a chance at a very lucrative deal but he needs a wife and who does he seek out, Riley Conner.

The chemistry between the two of them is awesome and they are like moths to each others flame. Eventually they both realize, although I think Simon already knew, with the inside help of his daughter, that they are much better together than apart and that Riley is his light no matter how other may see her.

This read like a high school book. I wasn’t a fan. The constant Bible verses put me off the story along with the juvenile relationship between the main characters. Their “problems” were mostly nothing more than lack of communication. Also, you screw a casual hookup in the bathroom at your nephew’s birthday party, and the first thing you do when you’re finished is call your pastor? No. I just didn’t like this one.

Simon and Riley have a pull/push relationship that spans years, their chemestry may sizzle but when it comes to matters of the heart they both face issues. Simon needs to prove he's a family man for a buisness deal and Riley fits the bill but could a fake marriage based on lies really be the end all? Well written engaging, second chance, desires, romance.

This was a lovely story and I was hooked from the start because oh boy the steam and the heat between Ripley and Simon set the pages of your book on fire. The author has written a great storyline and I can't wait to see what else comes from the author.

Simon is well written and easy to read, it just wasn't for me. I really like the fake relationship trope and the mutual pining but there was so much religion. Not that there is anything wrong with people living their lives and including the bible and it's teachings in their daily lives but it distracted me from the story because it isn't something I can relate to.

Simon has been wanting more with Riley since their night together but she is afraid that he could hurt her. When he has a business deal that could be aided if he had a partner, he convinces her to help him out. A fake relationship starts to become so much more. Can he convince her to give him a chance?.
