Class rivals June and Lucia vie for the honor of being named the Queen of Light, entrusted with protecting the people from the King of Darkness. June is an attractive girl whose feisty, hot temper and general laziness may prevent her from receiving the crown...Lucia has a more regal quality and a strong desire to match, but she is always overshadowed by June. Will petty jealousies, love triangles, and one cute boy interfere with the Queen's royal duty?!
June is meant to be the next Queen of Light. Well, at least she's training for it, but no one really wants her to actually be the queen one day - including herself. This changes when a rival candidate for the throne angers her enough to wake her ambition. From then on, no one in their school is safe anymore - especially when the demons June accidentally awoke start attacking.
As this was my first manga ever, I may be a little biased here. And, first of all, I have to admit, the storyline is more than a bit confusing. It is clear enough to get the grid on the first time reading, but if you really want to understand everything, you might end up re-reading it more than just three more times. However, for me this adds to the appeal. No matter how many times I re-read this series, I always discover something new.
Also, the artwork is just gorgeous. I would recommend it for the art alone. But the story is also really enjoyable. June is a really interesting main character, being silly and strong at the same time like manga heroines often are. She does not just stay this way as the story grows darker, allowing for her to grow throughout the story. The supporting characters are equally interesting.
There are forth-wall breaks and hints about other popular manga, which makes up a lot of the humor. There are also lots of sappy, but beautiful dialogues, but I am all in for those when it comes to manga.
All in all, I can say that this is a story I will forever come back to. And if you like fantasy, nice art, self-ironic humor and plot twists, you should definitely try this one as well.

I think my most favourite manga I've so far read, apart from of course my super fav The Good Witch of the West.
The art is just gorgeous - even if I sometimes find the storyline sometimes confusing it is what keeps me going. The whole Demon King part of the story is interesting but I think if it would have been explained some more then I would have understood it a bit better instead of guessing parts of the story.
The storyline is original to no belief. I. Have. NEVER. Seen. A. More. Original. Plotline. There, I've said it. The characters have life poured into them and the whole conflict is just sweet, jicy details that I indulge in. Just everything pieces together so perfectly that you can't even believe it.
This manga doesn not disappoint, not in the storyline, art, characters or anything else
I find this book interesting, but at the same time confusing. It seems to weave in and out of a good story line thrown in with a mix of parts put out of place. So far I'm guessing the point is not to think too deep about it. I'm planning on finishing the series anyway because I can still grasp some of the concept and also the pictures are very beautiful.
It is pretty stupid but cute if you want something simple to read going to bed. I find myself shaking my head at the plot, but then again it's a manga you aren't supposed to take seriously.
June is a highly unlikable character. She's flawed to the point of being an imperfectly perfect Mary Sue type of character, has absolutely no respect for other people or even those she claims to "like". She treats the people she desires as objects who should worship her.
Yet, somehow, wait for it... she is still friggen top candidate to be queen!!! Didn't see that coming, did ya? *wink* *wink* *wink*
Better yet, she and her class rival... both like the same guy?!?!?! WHAT?!?!?! Seriously, did not see that coming.
Read this if you can appreciate something that is supposed to be cheesey, as I am guilty for eating up high school romance shit. It's my secret pleasure, but it is no where near as good as other mangas such as BNHA, NAruto, or One Piece.
Just as fun and stupid as it was the first time I read this manwha. The story makes little sense (though if I remember correctly the last volume resolves some questions), but I'm living for the characters, the ridiculousness, the fourth wall breaks, and the outfits.
1.5 May have just been a translation issue in the version I read, but this manga made absolutely no sense. I had a vague idea of the plot, but that's it.
Incomprehensible plot: I felt like I was reading every 3rd page (the flow and dialogue was that poor!)
Overly silly: In an attempt to be funny there is a constant recognition of the artist/character relationship. ie. the characters frequently comment on the artistic design or poor dialogue.. This is a common comedic device; but it was so over-used here that it was complete unsuccessful.
If this was actually an attempt at slap-stick nonsensical comedy, rather than a shoujo princess/academy fantasy type-story, I completely missed the point -- and it still couldn't be considered a successful attempt!
I don't recommend this title.
However, if you're interested in reading the slap-stick rediculous comedy-type try Excel Saga by Rikdo Koshi. OR, if you are interested in the fantasy/academy-type story try Fantamir by Jin S. Eun.
It was okay. Entertaining at parts, really boring in others. It varied from too fast to too slow. The art, however, was consistently good. The fourth-wall breaks (especially Sailor Moon reference) were probably my favorite part, but fourth-wall jokes does not a good manga make.
The storyline and plot are a migraine to try to follow but the artwork is beautiful. Basically, it's a waste of time to read it but the pictures are pretty so just skim it
