Welcome to Tombstone, Arizona, the second dimension. Not all is what it seems. Time is an illusion. Matter is a mirage. Not all cowboys are friendly. Mysterious instructors stand guard over empty classrooms and teach lessons in life. Listen close. One thing is certain. The inhabitants of this dimension are not liars. The River of Truth will not allow it. A group of teenage boys are stuck in the dimension. Their only wish is to return home. There’s only one problem. In order to do this, they must cross the great River of Truth.
I'm not sure what I think about this book. It's good enough, and short enough, that I finished it in one day. I had thought time travel was supposed to be involved, but it's more a matter of people from differing times that come together in a weird situation. It was a bit heavy handed on the lesson that was clearly being taught, is my main complaint. Makes it seem like it should be a book for younger readers, but I'm not sure it would fit with middle grade readers.
