Come dice il titolo, è una guida per iniziare.

Purtroppo, però, è molto scarsa di contenuti. Spiega le basi di diverse funzionalità offerte da PhoneGap, ma le stesse informazioni si trovano quasi pari pari sul sito stesso.

Più o meno il 40% del libro è occupato dalle appendici. La più corposa contiene il sorgente di phonegap.js. Totalmente inutile, visto che, oltre a essere già vecchio al momento dell'uscita del libro, non ha commenti aggiuntivi che possano giustificarne la presenza.
Molte pagine sono dedicate alla soluzione degli esercizi contenuti nel libro. Utilità un po' superiore, ma nemmeno poi tanto.
L'appendice che elenca le estensioni disponibili è presa dal sito online, ma è vecchia e non ne contiene molte.

Insomma, praticamente tutto si trova anche sul sito, e non vale la pena comprare il libro.
