Brandon’s ego takes a hit when he realizes his girlfriend, Jackie, is happily “chatting” on line with some guy named “Sam”. Not only that, she’s flirting with the jerk too. Brandon is not amused.
So Brandon does what any other sane man would do in the same situation. He goes on line and pretends he’s Jackie. He was just going to make sure this “Sam” character knew Jackie was unavailable. But then something weird happens. Brandon ends up liking the guy. Sam is funny, witty and just plain adorable. He’s also afraid of storms and living in southern Florida, storms tended to be rather impressive. Suddenly “Sam” has Brandon’s heart doing all kinds of possessive and protective things he hasn’t experienced before.
Only problem? Brandon’s not gay.
What Brandon doesn’t know is that “Sam” is really Samantha who’s been using a game chat to nurse a lonely heart. She simply made a bad choice at a critical moment and now Jackie is thinking Sam’s a he and, crap, is Jackie flirting now? She really should quit the game. But as a tropical storm approaches, Jackie shows a completely different side, a more protective, caring side, almost as if she’s a different person. Suddenly Samantha doesn’t want to let go…
Hi, my name is Hurri Cosmo and I am a happy ending junkie. I always have been. You can be pretty rest assured everything I write will have one. I am not big on angst. I believe we get enough of that in real life so when I go to read something, to make the real world go away for awhile, I will most likely not chose something that will make me cry. So I write for those people who, at least occasionally, feel the same way. I’m okay with the fact I will probably never write anything “important” but I guess I will have to see where my imagination takes me. I would love it if you would come along.
4.5 I'm actually super happy with this book! No sex--just a story about how a little incident can lead to a wonderful more promising relationship. Completely disliked Jackie... but Brandon and Sam were just adorable. Aw... I'm happy I'm giving a few M/F titles a try. This one was just cute. I think it is definitely worth the read! :3
I don’t read much M/F anymore. This was a cute little diversion. It all starts as an innocent deception online. The author did a good job with this short. The writing is well done. There isn’t much to world building or on the characters. Matter of fact there is very little on Samantha. Still for a quick, sweet story it is good.
I do wish it was a little longer than it was. Because it is short it is a bit shallow. It would be nice to see a little more on Samantha especially. This is really a bit of a tease as to the author’s talent and style. These types of book, while slightly irritating, give a wonderful peek into whether a reader would enjoy the writer.
