‘Tis the season for new beginnings Molly is through with spending Bayou Noel alone - after waiting five years for Garrick to notice her as more than just his mother’s caregiver. The aggravating male might always have a place in her heart, but she’s determined to find someone who wants to build a family with her. She has no idea that writing a letter of resignation will bring Garrick back to the Wildlands.
It will take a miracle to bring them together Garrick can’t believe that Molly is willing to walk away. She’s not only become irreplaceable to his mother, but he’s become addicted to her letters when he was far away from home. He’ll be damned if he is going to let her slip away. But once back in the Wildlands, Garrick is forced to choose between opening his heart to the female he loves or risk losing her forever.
I'm not exactly sure when I fell in love with books. Probably on my mother's knee listening to her read Dr. Seuss to me. I do remember that I was barely old enough to cross the street by myself when I discovered the delights of the local library. Could anything be more wonderful than spending summer days surrounded by stacks of Nancy Drew mysteries? Over the years I fell in love with Victoria Holt, Jane Austen, Agatha Christie, and J.R.R. Tolkien just to name a few. I read poetry, essays, biographies, and plays. In fact, I read anything I could get my hands on.
Years later (no, I'm not admitting how many) I'm still an avid reader, and my tastes are still as varied as they were in my youth, which I suppose helps to explain why I enjoy writing regency historicals under the name of Deborah Raleigh, as well as my contemporary paranormals as Alexandra Ivy. For now that is enough to keep me busy, but who knows what the future might hold!
I do have a few other loves in my life besides reading and writing, the most important being my unbelievably patient husband, David, and my two sons, Chance and Alexander. Without their constant support and belief in me, I never could have been able to follow my dreams. They are truly my heroes.
Takes place before the Bayou Heat series. Really short.
Pretty much rage inducing. Pathetic heroine pines away for 5 years for douche-bag absentee employer who treats her like a stranger every time he does see her. But writes her heartfelt letters almost daily. What a crock of shit. She quits - he gets mad. No one can have his toy but him! Even though he never plays with it!
Anyway, after push/pull, he says ok - I want you and she is like ok great. Seriously woman - no self respect AT ALL! You know he was travelling the world getting laid, and you were at home taking care of his elderly mother! ARGHHH!!!!
Luckily this was so short that I was only tortured for about 45 minutes!
I loved the French culture portrayed in this short read. I wish it could have been longer. It ended right where it really began. But it was short, sexy and sweet.
I haven't read any of the other stories in this series, I didn't even realize it was part of a series when I downloaded it as a Kindle freebie. It worked as a stand alone though the world building was practically non-existent; presumably the authors assumed readers would have read one or more of the books and wouldn't need explanations. For the most part, you can pick up info from context but there were a few things that were confusing, such as the lack of humans and whether or not this occurred on our Earth or an alternate earth.
Molly and Garrick, our hero and heroine, are puma shifters. He's the son of a wealthy family and some sort of Diplomat; she's a Nurturer, some sort of nurse/caretaker, for his mother. He doesn't visit home often but he and Molly write each other letters just about daily. In those letters, they've gotten intimate with each other but on his visits home, he ignores her despite their mutual desire and frequent correspondence. After five years, Molly has had enough and tries to quit. That is just the kick in the butt that Garrick needs to make his move but not without being a bonehead first.
I liked Molly, though I thought she was a doormat for having waited so long for Garrick. In my opinion she should have made her move earlier or walked away sooner. Garrick, I didn't warm up to so much. Although we spend time in his head, we don't get a good feel for him. What we do see, doesn't impress much - he doesn't visit his mother often, treats Molly poorly, and uses, well tries, to use her sexually then walks away. Still, I liked Molly and rooted for things to work out in her favor.
The sex scenes should have been hot but they didn't do it for me and, as I said, I didn't really warm up to Garrick. "Bayou Noel" is okay and it's a short read, only 60 pages, but it didn't wow me and I doubt if I'll pick up more in the series.
Alexandra Ivy and Laura Wright were definitely keeping the fans in mind when they put out this sweet, sexy little novella. They wanted to give us a little Pantera to keep us warm this holiday season and to thank their fans for eating up their series and giving them wonderful support by putting it up for free.
Molly is a healer working for Garrick’s mother as her caregiver. She waited for him for five years for him to notice that she was a woman who was there, ready, and in love with him, and for him to tell her how he was really feeling. Deciding that she is done, she quits her job with a note on the door. That one little note brought Garrick home for the holidays to stop her.
Garrick is not like the other Pantera males. Taking a mate is not high on his priority list, maybe not on it at all, so when these feelings for Molly pop up, he has no idea how to deal with it. It’s obvious that he cares about her, that he wants her body, but his puma wants more than that – Molly wants and deserves more than that. Garrick knows it, so he’s troubled.
Garrick is yet another steaming hot Pantera male that knows how to set his mate on fire – the readers too. A Suit, he’s supposed to be poised, mannered, and refined, but Molly brings out the possessive male in him – the one that wants to hide Molly away from the rest of the world and stay there with her forever.
Like all the other Bayou Heat novellas, things end well for Garrick and Molly. If I had one complaint about the story, though, it is that I WANT MORE! It was so short, just enough to wet you whistle and leave you begging for more. Laura Wright and Alexandra Ivy are masters at that. Brava, ladies!!
I do enjoy these books. I especially like the short length, as sometimes I just don't want to commit to something longer. But it seems that every time they end too quickly. Even just a few paragraphs more to help round out the HEA would be great. It always seems that just as the H&h accept their love the story ends. Would love to have the time for a bit more groveling and tenderness. Especially in this one where the heroine is so sorely taken for granted. In this one the ending was so quick that I honestly wasn't convinced the Hero really cared all that much after all.
Bayou Noel is a novelette in the Bayou series written by Alexandra Ivy and Laura Wright. This was a freebie in the kindle store.
Molly is tired of waiting on Garrick. Although, Molly loves caring for his mother and loves Molly like family, Molly knows it's time to move on before it's too late and she ends up spending her entire life alone. When Garrick finds out Molly has a new job and is leaving, he hurries home to stop her. But is it too little too late?
This is very short book, but it gives you little taste of what this series is like . For those who do follow the series, this is a sweet little holiday treat. Steamy, sexy, shape shifter romance for lovers of paranormal romance. Over all this one is an A.
I have yet to read this series so this gave me a small sample of what this world is like and it has me intrigued. This was very short but I enjoyed it. I will be getting the other books in this series for sure.
Molly´s waited for Garrett to show his intentions far too long, and now she´s given up. A girl can take a hint, right? But her letter of resignation kicks Garrett into action, and he´s soon there to talk some sense into her. Christmas fluff a la the Bayou <3
I liked this story but it was hard for me to follow because this is the first book in the series I have read. I'm sure if I had read the other books, I would understand much more of what is going on.
I love this series!:) This was a sweet novella but it was too short.*g*I wanted more! Thank you Alexandra and Laura for this gift!:) I recommend this series to paranormal romance readers.:)
In fairness, I should note that I haven't read the other books in the series. The sex scenes were well written, but the characters felt a little flat and silly.
After diplomat Garrick gets a letter from his mother's caretaker Molly, back in the Wildlands, that she's done and moving on to another job, Garrick is unreasonably angry and rushes off home. Molly is leaving of course because she's waited for Garrick to realize they're meant to be for 5 years now, and he still hasn't figured it out. Sure, they share personal, heartfelt letters from afar, but when he comes home, he treats her like the hired help. And now she's done. Except now that she's on her way out, he's not about to let her go.
Nothing like a spoiled selfish brat not realizing what he's got until he thinks someone else might be wanting it. Here Garrick has been galivanting the globe probably living it up with a different woman every night while Molly sits around waiting for him. No. Not a fan thanks. I liked that Molly developed a backbone and seemed to be sticking with it, until she was ready to forgive him at the drop of a hat. 5 years and she doesn't even make him work for it.

Christmas in Paris. Garrick a Pantera diplomat gets a letter from home thinking it's a another of Molly's letters catching him up on family but it's not it's her resignation. Everything falls apart for Garrick and he rushes home. This is a super sweet Christmas love and magic romance. Loved it.
Short with not a lot of detail crammed into a few pages.. Both the characters and plot for me fell flat... this novel did not have any emotions bursting from the pages so it did not pull me in and keep me reading, i kept reading just to see what happened. But was bored out of my skull by the end. I suppose for some people its okay for a short read, sadly it was not for me.
17m: This was cute, but without the overarching plot to balance out all the sex, it was a bit blasé. I liked the characters, but these books only keep me reading due to the cliffhangers, because the sex is kind of grossly detailed.
Even for a novella it's really too fast, and there's only 39 pages on the 59 of the novella, the rest being a preview of another book. Classic story about a man who realizes his love when the woman decides to live her life without him.
