Who is the real enemy?

Marcus Anderson, chemical weapons expert and CIA handler of assets like world famous Kate Lindenstream, finds vampires troubling. He'd rather have nothing to do with them, until the world-class sniper known only as The Whisper takes a shot at him...and misses. While Marcus' supervisors wrangle over red tape, Marcus follows the trail back and meets Ilaria, a hot-tempered, diminutive, smoldering Italian beauty who captures his scarred and defensive heart.

Meanwhile, Cyneric Pæga's radar is prickled by a trail of clues that he puts together to reveal that Ilaria Scarvo, a vampire assassin just like Rick once was, is in town. He doesn't know who The Whisper's target is but Nial, leader of the revolutionaries, is at the top of the list. Then Rick meets Ilaria and finds she's not at all a cold-hearted killer. Ilaria is a wounded woman with a terrible secret that binds Rick to her.

Is Ilaria working for the League for Humanity, or the Pro Libertatus? Is she involved with Menes Heru's plans to use the doomsday weapon, the Blood Stone? Or is she as innocent as both Marcus and Rick want desperately to believe?

OMGG I think i prefer Blood Unleashed than Bloos Stone because these 3 trouple are very sweet! Especially Ilaria and the scene after Ilaria was free from the inscription. Anywhooo, Tracy you are not disappointing me!!

SPOILER!

But i hope to god that no one dies like in *cough* other series (you know.. Nayara's husband I still can't move on from that sob sob)
Definitely thought that Menes Heru will be the antagonist until the end of the series. Wasn't expecting him to get bested by the serene ones very early hahahah fuck him tho! #goawaycovid19

Awesome reading entertainment

I've really enjoyed series from the very beginning. The characters are so relatable because their backstories have been so built up and I like this author keeps so informed the continued stories on each menage relationship and they all coerce with one another while continuing to build the story with new relationships and more advancement of the information to the story. This author is new to me but I'm really impressed with her at this point and willing and ready to read more from her. To the author, keep up with your writing style you are really talented.

I have really enjoyed this series, the writing just flows, making it hard to put my book down. Besides the love triangles and the sex, there is a really good story line, not your every day PNR.

This is a somewhat complicated story - so much so that it comes with its own little glossary of terms, so you can look up who people are when you forget. It centers around Marcus Anderson, who is Kate Lindenstream's new CIA handler. He is wary of vampires, but finds himself tied up and in love with Ilaria - a vampire assassin who is trying to warn him. At the same time, she hooks up with Cyneric, a former assassin and brilliant vampire on the side of Nial's revolution who connects with her out of a shared past. And when that past bites Ilaria in the ass, Marcus and Rick come together with a common connection (and enemy) and also fall in love. They all team up to destroy the enemy who is threatening to use the bloodstone and kill whatever vampires or humans get in the way of his complete domination.

So this was better than the second in the series, but still not quite as good as Blood Knot. All of the characters are here, plus quite a few new ones and it does honestly get confusing as to who is who and what side they're on. And at times, I didn't want to focus on the suspense plot, I wanted the romance to keep on going on. As for that - it's a bit "insta-love" but still believable. Marcus and Ilaria get together first, but there's an underlying motivation there that undermines it. But just a few days is all it takes for Marcus to fall in love. Then she hooks up with Rick, which walks a fine line with infidelity for me. But I guess we can consider Ilaria's ulterior motive...and the fact that she didn't realize her feelings until after she'd been with Rick (and she kind of falls in insta-love there too). And the significance of "hunting together" was never actually explained. Then, and they come together. This is by far my favorite part, even if it did seem a little odd that Marcus was so comfortable being with a guy and presumably he'd never been with one before. They're relationship though felt very natural and not insta-love at all. And then of course the three of them come back together and everyone loves each other. And the sex is pretty hot, but I got the feeling that just Marcus-Rick sex was done when Ilaria came back. It almost felt like Ilaria spoiled their relationship. Still it was a nice, balanced relationship with nearly no jealousy. And I did enjoy them.

What disappointed me I think was the lost possibility of Rick. Marcus was my favorite character - he was PTSD and gruff, but also pretty damn brilliant. A bit of a geek. My favorite. Ilaria was very kick ass but she paled in comparison to her two hunky heroes. Rick started out as a savant - edgy with his lack of caring and able to make freakish connections with the future by thinking about it. It was an awesome beginning. It fizzled a bit later on, as he lost his edginess, he didn't really maintain his detachment - even shades of it...I'd expect him to connect to the people he was falling in love with, but there was no hesitation in how quickly he did it and it extended to others. He was suddenly no longer detached and there was no further focus on his abilities or his genius. It was unfortunate.

The story here is good, enough to keep me entertained and reading straight through. Also, the menage relationship was handled pretty much how I like it, without the jealousy or the love triangle. I also LOVED Marcus and Rick's relationship build up. A good one...but I don't find myself terribly excited to read another book in the story. This almost felt like it wrapped up (even though the vampires haven't "come out.")

Possible spoilers ahead: Read at your own risk!

First, the good stuff. There are a lot of qualities that I love about this series in specific and this author in general. Very good writing in a genre saturated with dreck. Mega hot sex scenes. PNR MMF, which is not that easy to find if you also want good writing. Interesting characters, engaging plot... Now, I'm gonna pick some nits.

This is the third in a series with a huge cast of characters. I've read all three, but sometimes felt a little lost trying to keep track of who was who. That doesn't usually happen to me so I'm not sure why this book made me feel that way. All the different factions and players... It felt muddled and I had to stop trying to remember who was with what group and what their agenda was or go nuts.

Also differing from my usual, I liked the story and the characters better at the beginning of the book than at the end. Ilaria was this kick ass assassin at the start, then she evolved (or devolved, depending on your POV) into a giddy school girl with bad taste in clothes. I understand the motivations involved. Just not fond of the end result.

Cyneric underwent a similar transformation personality wise. Although he didn't go all the way down to schoolgirl level, imho, he lost some of the qualities which made him appealing to me. The more "human" he became, the less I cared. I'm pretty sure that he could have managed to have the relationship they evolved into without losing the edgy intelligence that made him dangerous and unique.

Which brings us to Marcus. Sigh. I don't think I even really got him. He's a mess at the beginning, marginalized at his job, drinking and other recreational pharma, PTSD'd out the wazoo. Tragic, but not very appealing. Despite this, not one but two powerful vampires find him interesting enough to shag. When we finally get his backstory, it's predictably awful but his first line of work was a tad incongruous with the rest of the character, imho.

And my biggest nit of all? This is going to sound silly given my strong predilection for MMF, but I felt blindsided by the relationship between Rick and Marcus. Was it hot? Hell yeah! However, to the best of my recollection, neither Marcus nor Rick ever mentioned any prior interest in or past exploration of any homoerotic tendencies. So the first time they "get together", I'm all Yes! ... What? ... Oooooh! ... Huh? It hasn't been my experience that characters develop an affinity for a different gender THAT suddenly. Maybe I missed some backstory? A whole lot of backstory?

To conclude, the HEA was acceptable, but not ideal. I really liked the book overall, but I scratched my head a lot and wished the author had taken somewhat different paths with our MC's. Still, I definitely plan to read more in the series and from this author.

Blood Unleashed. Book 3 of the Blood Stone series. Tracy Cooper-Posey
Review from Jeannie Zelos Book reviews.
I've read several of Tracy’s novels now, and they share a common theme of paranormal and m/m/f ménage. Its done in a sensual, seductive way though, and not the tacky, cringing, stomach churning ways too many authors write scenes like these. It takes a special talent to gradually get the reader so involved with the characters that they feel real, and when things go wrong you want to cry for them, hoping for something to go right. Tracy's people too usually start out with some kind of dislike or suspicion of the one they'll eventually partner with. Its clever stuff how she makes all that so believable.
Anyway, that’s general substance I’ve found from her books that I’ve read overall but this one – and this series – is pretty complex. Thankfully there's a compendium of who's who and how they fit in the story, which is useful because by now there's a pretty complex cast, and I did need to refer back a time or two. The plot began fairly simply in book one, expanded in book two and by now has become deeply solid, with the romances and side plots all slowly solidifying into the main story. I really enjoyed the way its all come together, and in fact as I’ve learned more its made the earlier books clearer. Now I’ve all three and know the story, at some point I’ll re read them all. I like to do that with series, reading back to back while each still fresh in my mind brings out another side to them, and I really enjoy that. Complex novels like this also have so much that could be missed on first reading, when you're still coming to grips with the story that’s unfolding, and second readings bring out those sections.
As always a cracking story, with all the scenes from earlier novels coming into play alongside the romance between Marcus, Illaria and Rick. That's some hot and steamy sections, and they work well with each person bringing out facets of the other two that’s needed. Its a kind of trust thing too – they all have the skills needed to prevent the disaster threatened, but they need to learn to trust and work together, and the romances have engendered that.
Each of these novels is quite long, some solid reading in them, this one is a huge 436 pages for £3.14, so a real bargain. Though the romance part could be read as a standalone I wouldn't recommend it, the overall plot spans all three novels and they are best read in order.
Stars: five – definitely a keeper series. .

The third book in the Blood Stone series is an intriguing and exciting erotic adventure.

Chemical weapons expert and CIA handler of assets, Marcus Anderson finds vampires troubling and would rather have nothing to do with them. Then a world class sniper takes a shot at him and when he follows the trail back to he finds the hot-tempered, diminutive and smoldering Italian beauty, Ilaria who captures his heart. Following a trail of clues, Cynric Paega figures out that Ilaria Scarvo, a vampire assassin like he once was, is in town and that Nial, the leader of the revolutionaries is on the top of her hit list. Ilaria is a wounded woman with a terrible secret, but when her new assignments include Marcus and Rick, she finally feels hope for the first time in a long while.

This book starts a little slower paced that the others, but when it takes off the reader better hold on to the edge of their seat for an action packed adrenalin ride. The story comes to life with vivid images, intense details that puts the reader right into the story and strong bewitching characters that grab the reader’s attention and are easily related to.

The chemistry between Ilaria and the two men radiates heat from every page, but the romance is spiced up with suspense to add lots of depth to the story. The chemistry between Rick and Marcus explodes off the page and the sex scenes are scorching hot with m/m, menage, anal sex and sexual language that leave the reader smoldering with passion. The blends the romance and sex with suspense and action that keeps the reader on their toes and turning the pages as fast as they can read.

I recommend that the books be read in order because of the continuing conflict and the all the characters from the previous books are still main players in each and every book while at the same time giving each new threesome their stories.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Wow, this third installment of the Blood Stone series really had a lot jam packed into it! There was tons of action, romance, smut, character development, secrets revealed, and mystery mystery mystery! I had no idea what to expect next because this book was really a departure from any formula I’d seen in the author’s previous work. Yes, there is still M/F/M action and M/M action and lots of interesting combinations, but this book also caught us up on all the other characters we met along the way.

The three main characters in this book are Marcus (a CIA agent, which was kind of expected after the ending of the previous book), “Rick” (a vampire who we also met at the end of the previous book, as a “vampire computer”), and Ilaria (an assassin vampire hottie who is working for some ultimately evil organizations). The interactions between these three happened in a strictly one on one fashion until part 2, where everything changes. The alliances, political motivations, and other drivers were hard to get a grip on to predict any sort of happy ending, but boy oh boy was it a wild ride along the way.

It was a great treat to catch up with some of our favorites from the previous books as well as seeing them in their previous roles. I’m rapidly falling in lust with all these characters and stories and can’t wait to read more. I was a little sad when I thought that this was the last book. So much happened along the way that I couldn’t imagine leaving everyone where they ended up. Luckily, after finishing up, I saw there is another book scheduled! Happy day! I am loving these stories that are so alike and yet so different. If you want a good paranormal erotic read, check these out!

~4.5 Stars~

This was by far my favorite book of the series. I don’t know if it was because everything was mostly wrapped up or that none of the main characters had a relationship beforehand. It was a page turner after about chapter 2. I was just completely sucked in.

Ilaria was kind of amazing. A woman sniper who endured so much, what’s not to love about her. To put it plainly she was a badass. I thought she was very smart and strategic. Her moves were well planned out and she wasn’t an impulsive person..err vampire. I felt horrible for what she had to endure as a slave. Not even having emotions to yourself would be heartbreaking.

Marcus is a CIA operative trying to forget his past when Ilaria shakes up his whole damn world. I liked him from the beginning and he was probably my favorite of the three. He is a damn genius like he could have been a mad scientist if the CIA hadn’t recruited him. Lol

Rick a.k.a Cyneric Pæga is a very unique character. I got the feeling he didn’t like many people but he warmed up to Marcus and Ilaria pretty fast. He was a little unnerving how much he could tell from his data. He was unlike any of the other vampires but I think that ended up helping in the end.

This was a double whammy for me. It had a great plot and great sex. Plus I already knew and liked the secondary characters. I highly recommend this series because it is a knockout.

~Thank you to the author for a copy of the book in exchange for a honest review.~

What's my favorite thing to say about MMF menages? That's right! WANT MOAR! The fact that this series gives us danger, heartache, and intrigue wrapped around vampires on the verge of going public just makes it so much more delicious.

One thing I love about these books is that the relationships are so raw. Ilaria and Marcus have passion but he also gives her a peace she can't find anywhere else. Ilaria and Rick have sharp intelligence mixed in with their sexy times and a painful past experience that's shaped them into the people they are today. Marcus and Rick are brought together by Ilaria but they find comfort in each other when they're at their lowest.

It's a tangled ball of emotions and truthfulness and it WORKS.

Beyond the complexity of vampire relationships, events are moving forward toward the unveiling of vampires as a species. We get resolution to the theft of the Blood Stone (in book 2) and we get to see the darker side of vampires in Menes Heru.

I've really enjoying this series as a whole. Watching Nial maneuver his pieces on the board as he and the other vampires prepare to reveal themselves is interesting. Getting to see these vampires drop their emotional barriers as they find the ones that call to them makes it even better.

Marcus, a human working for the CIA, knows about vampires but doesn't want to believe they really exist. Once he is shot at by a sniper he goes to his boss for answers. Not getting the answers he wanted he goes to a fellow agent who happens to be married to two vampires. Marcus learns a lot more than he ever thought could possibly be true. When the clues lead him to a mysterious woman as his shooter, he does the last thing he ever thought he would do, he starts a relationship with her only to find out she is a vampire. Ilaria, his new love, needs his help but she is working for the wrong side of good. Ilaira is working for Menes, one of the oldest vampires in the world, who wants to stop the knowledge of vampires getting out to the public. Cyneric, a vampire with a tormented past, is looking for the assassin who is targeting Nial, the leader of the vampires who are trying to come out to humans, and finds Ilaira. They are drawn together but when he learns she is working for Menes against her will he will do whatever he can to free her. When Ilaira disappears, Cyneric and Marcus start working together and begin to have feelings blossom between the two of them. When evil comes out in the open, Ilaira, Cyneric and Marcus work together to save each other and those they love.

I really like TCP’s books, they can be so addictive. I think the thing that I like so much about them is while they are uber hot and steamy their stories aren’t just filler for lots of intense sex scenes and she creates such interesting characters to go in the fabulous worlds that she makes.
My only problem with this book is that Marcus and Cyneric’s relationship happened quickly ... like so quick that I think I might’ve missed it quick. When Ilaria was with Marcus I didn’t think about Rick and vice versa since the interactions between them were so passionate. Then it comes time for the two men to meet and well it seemed to happen too quickly for me. It was like two separate stories were smooshed together. Don’t get me wrong, I still liked the book. I just didn’t get that bit.
I really liked the vamp world she thought up and the idea of the bloodstone. I still don’t get how they function without saliva, but whatever!

Immediately after finishing the previous book, Blood Stone, I downloaded this one from the Kobo store. I wasn't sure I was going to connect with Cyneric's story but the characters in the story, Ilaria, Marcus and Rick were so developed and dimensioned that I couldn't help myself. I'm on the edge of my seat wondering if we are going to find out more about Sasha, or Dominic, or even Patrick. And I really hope Winter's "fixes" for Dominic don't come back to haunt anyone.
Oh, and thank you Tracy for the Who's who and what's what at the beginning. Even though I've read all the books in the series so far it helps to keep them all straight.

This started this the characters from the previous two books and I enjoyed catching up. There was a lot of info and introduction to many new characters. At times I felt overloaded but with being such a great author it all pulled together. I really enjoyed this series, not sure where it goes from here since it all seemed to wrap up, but I will be reading book 4 for sure.

I very rarely ever give a low rating, however I literally found myself forcing to read this book. This greatly surprised me because I really enjoyed the first two in the series. I only made it to page 100 before I had to call it quits, maybe down the road I'll try it again.

Great twist!

Rick, Marcus an Ilaria have a great, nail-biting, plot-twisting story! Rick has issues communicating; Ilaria is being controlled and Marcus is caught in between...

Curiosity kept me reading. Too much jumping back and forth and crazy entities. Sex scenes are plentiful but you quickly lose interest.
