The concept for the story was dynamite, and I found the ideas espoused by the author of what this alternate timeline could look like intriguing. The ideas for the cover up and isolation of the main characters was believable, and the new characters were interesting and well thought out.

However the authors writing style was disjointed and downright painful to read at times. While he did a good job with the technical side of descriptions and set up situations and scenarios competently enough, his dialogue was abysmal and threatened to ruin the experience. I had to put the book down on several occasions to clear my head before continuing as I found his character interactions so tiresome to slog thru.

If you are a fan of the series who found Alien 3 disappointing, or someone like me who just loves to spend as much time in this universe as possible I would say it is definitely worth the price.

Worst alien follow up ever

I would not recommend this book to anyone. This author needs to take a creative writing course. Stuff, stilted, unemotional and downright boring.

My copy had quite a few grammatical errors..but that didn't bother me a whole lot. There were some pretty neat ideas in this story. Ripley, Hicks and Newt not dying with a governmental cover up was pretty good. Also learning more about Ripley's daughter Amanda and the things that went on in her life. The first portion of the book wasn't super exciting, but the last half was pretty good! What knocked it down for me, from 3 stars was, I wasn't super satisfied with the ending. I was hoping for more information on the info they retrieved from the derelict space craft. That was the main point of the story I thought...anyway, there were some good ideas and some good alien action in this story!

Good Alternate universe story

This book takes a different path after Aliens(1986). No Alien3. An interesting storyline I've not seen in other alien books or comics. If you are a fan of the movies this book is not a waste of time.
