I'm an experienced quilter, but this book had a lot of useful, practical information as well as some good charts for figuring out triangle sizes for setting blocks on point.
I have to say that I disagreed with a lot of the examples of fabric choices that Alex Anderson made in her section in this book, but then she may not like the way I choose fabrics and colors either.
