WARNING: DO NOT READ THIS BOOK UNLESS YOU ARE READY TO START FEELING AMAZING EVERY DAY.

Author Aaron Kennard exposes in frank and emotional detail how this secret revitalized his own life overnight, and then later sustained him with the peace, hope, & faith required to navigate torturous unimaginable pain and disease while feeling immense gratitude for it all. The Positive Thinking Secret has already helped many find greater freedom to enjoy life.

You're next.

More detail: What this book is, and what it is not:

The Positive Thinking Secret is a tool to remove discontentment & discouragement, and to provide hope and inspiration. Understanding the secret helps a person find happiness, meaning, and joy, regardless of the circumstances they face in life.

The Positive Thinking Secret is NOT a cure for autoimmune disease. It is a helping hand for the broken or downtrodden spirit. While it is possible this secret may aid in physical healing, that is not the point of this book.

This book is graphic and intense at times and contains a very detailed account of a year of the Author's life. Many of the chapters take you on a journey with sometimes intense details of the author's suffering through a debilitating auto-immune disease.

If you have a low tolerance for the harsh reality of the pain of disease, you may not be able to handle this book. The language is clean, but there are many details about a severe medical condition. The author gives a full, open, and honest account including journal entries and emails containing real-time thoughts that were happening through the process, and does not hold back his beliefs about God and spirituality.  It also contains accounts of intense emotional suffering.

The people who love this book are those intrigued by a compelling and true story told straight from the heart of someone who was able to use the Positive Thinking Secret to find happiness and joy even in the midst of massive pain and adversity.

Everyone experiences adversity and pain, as well as times of pleasure and happiness.

This book will give you a fresh way of looking at ALL your experiences, which if applied, is sure to bring joy to your soul.

Yuck

writer is ego-centric and I really could have read less about his biological excrement. feel sorry for his wife. this book doesn't help others find ways to be more positive, it just rAmbles on and on about his bowel issues .

Not what I thought

I thgught this book would be more about the power of positive thinking. instead it was full of medical issues I really didn't need to know. the idea is good but the delivery wasn't what I was looking for.

Must-Read !! I loved the examples and some methods given by the author. I cannot give this one a 5-star rating because, This book, although explains and motivates us to a greater extent, highlights a single thought that "Everything is conspiring for your benefit!!" (I kinda expected more... - But this is just my opinion).

The author, Aaron Kennard, is married to my cousin. This book blew my mind! It was a good reminder about how challenging life can be sometimes....but how resilient and tough we can be. It only took me a few days to complete it - I couldn't stop listening! Even stayed up past midnight one night listening, which is rare for me since I'm such an early bird. The story is so compelling, heart wrenching, and moving. I appreciate the author and his family for inspiring others. Can't wait to read Aaron's next book!

The message seemed to be that suffering is good. The more you suffer, and I sympathize with the author's suffering, the greater God will bless you. So stress is a blessing, not a crisis. Faith will solve everything.

If you are very religious you probably don't need to have this message hammered home. If you are not, then this message will not relieve your problem.

This was not a book to give you techniques for coping with life. After reading it for awhile, I found the best answer for my stress that day was to stop reading it.

The title of this book does not match the book very well. This story is the journals of a man who has been diagnosed with a chronic illness. He maintains a very upbeat attitude, but this is not a self-help book.

This book is about a father of 4 young children who suddenly gets ill in the worst way possible, the day after his 4th child is born. Aaron chronicles, with no-holds-barred honesty, his terrible pain and illness. He literally went through hell with the medical community not knowing exactly what was wrong with him and still having to deal with his extreme pain. It was tough. The author did a great job conveying what it was like and all the goryness that goes with his digestive disease. I enjoyed reading that part because when people talk about ulcerative colitis and crohn's disease, they never really get into the nitty gritty of it. So I applaud Aaron for that.

In terms of the title of the book, I don't think that the book lived up to the title. Yes, Aaron and his family coped with and weathered the storm of his illness, but not more so than any other very loving family. It is tough to remember to stay thinking positive when you are in extreme pain and even Aaron and his family struggled with that. He was very open about that.

This book is more about Aaron's illness and what he went through to get the diagnosis and to ultimately heal. If the book had been marketed as such I still would've read and enjoyed it and I would've given it 4 stars. However since it was marketed as a self-help book, which I feel was a secondary aspect of the book not the principle aspect, I've given it 3 stars.

But overall a good, quick and ultimately inspiring read. I defly feel gratitude now for my healthy life and healthy colon.

This book found me! I had been laid up in bed with digestive issues since Christmas. It now being the New Year, I wanted to read something to put me in a positive frame of mind and help me set my life's I intentions for 2016.

From page one, I was riveted to the story because it was mirroring my own life for the last two weeks. In three short hours I had read the book cover to cover.

The writer makes a statement in the introduction that one will feel more positive after completing the book and for me he was absolutely correct! By sharing journal excerpts and his personal health and healing journey through a digestive disorder, I was able to commiserate and appreciate his man's struggles. I was also able to identify with his soul's struggle to persevere through incredible physical pain to find purpose and hope to push on.

Found the book well written and easy to grasp the writers concepts for more positive living! None of the concepts were new to me, but it was a great reinforcement in a good story! Perfect read to start the new year!

Truly A Complete Waste of Time!

I read this book in hopes of being able to recommend it to someone who is struggling in life. What a waste of time!
This book is nothing but pure self indulgence, including plugs for the authors website with products. It also has plugs for Mormonism.
About 95% of the book is personal fluff, and the other 5% can be obtained by reading a good book on Gratitude.
I find it a bit annoying that there are so many useless books like this that purport to hold the secrets, or keys, to life. THEY DON'T! I don't have high expectations, but I do hope to find a modicum of useful insights or perspective. This book is not a good source for either.

I loved reading the parts that talked about the authors struggle with UC. However I found all the "self help"parts to be utter garbage that really could have been summed up in one or two sentences. "no days a bad day, just smile and think positive". This is highly delusional and not at all helpful in my opinion. The author spends a lot of time talking about his faith and how God would never give you something that is not for your good. If you aren't a believer though, most of this book will just sound like trash.

A great read to begin changing how you view life's challenges.

I first chose to read this because I don't like thinking negative but some of my life was leaving me feeling left out and lonely. Although I found some of the descriptions of Aaron's disease long, most of it might have been necessary to drive home his point. Overall, I've gained confidence and hope to take my life I to control, see good in all and move forward.

I purchased this book on my kindle with the hopes of learning some tricks to positive thinking Hoping that I would learn how to turn a bad day into a good. 14% through the book I was learning about a man and the repeated saying "there is never a bad day" Thanks for that but I never learnerdhow to think positive or why there was never a bad day. Title is very misleading.

The Positive Thinking Secret — Aaron Kennard (? chapters) June 7-11, 2019

Oh my gosh! I was so hopeful with this book, but I think it maybe have turned me off of reading “self-help” books for awhile! Forewarning: this was written by a Mormon practitioner and had bible verses from the Book of Mormons. There is a fair amount of faith-based thought going on in here, and it read more like a journalized story of the author and his family than it did a book about learning positive thinking. And then ending! Let’s just say that the book jumped the shark at the end. It had nothing to do with positive thinking and the conclusion made it seem like the beginning (which was actually the best part of the book! It had well thought out ideas and some of the processes really clicked with me,) was nothing more than a before look at what the man and his family had become.

In many ways this was a book of two halves. One half was extraordinarily good and then second went off the deep end.

Several of the journal passages where long and really unnecessary and I ended up skimming them, stopping at parts I felt were more interesting and discarding the rest. Other reader’s milage may differ. If you are a Mormon, this book might have more meaning for you.

Two stars.

Couldn't rate it.

Spoiler...
The secret is...

Think positive! That sentence is the self help takeaway. Positive thinking is finding the good in everything and having gratitude.

The rest of the self help is trust in God and His plan. Even the really bad times are actually good, because God is teaching you so trust Him. Not useful when you don't believe in God; or even if you do if you can't get behind the whole God lets awful things happen for a reason, and it's for your benefit. Sorry but this had me doing a lot of eye rolling.

Reading about his health struggle was what I found interesting in the book.

Life Changes, you have to be ready!

In reading this book, you have to be in position to be ready to hear what is being said and the message that is being preached. I was in search of a positive and uplifting book and message and I received just that. This book covers emotional and spiritual issues and speaks loudly on life changes. That through it ALL, you can believe and know that there are no bad days and we can choose to search for the positive message in any circumstances, and that ultimately we are living and have the power to choose to live a Truly Amazing Life!

It's a well-written book; however, I haven't finished reading it. I usually read the whole book to have a comprehensive view, but in this case, it didn't happen. I gave the author many chances, and although I paused reading for a few days, I returned. Nevertheless, at this stage, the book progresses too slowly for me, and it delves into some points more than I would like.

Staying Positive

What a great story! To read how someone can stay so positive while going through so many terrible things, emotional and physical pain… I give this man a lot of credit for not giving up and staying so positive. I couldn’t put the book down!

This book is truly inspiring and a good read considering. The book is mostly on the author's story on overcoming his auto immune disease. But the thought process and attitude in doing that is worth learning about. His epilogue on nutrition is great too.

surprising

I was not expecting Aaron’s story. I never understood how debilitating and dangerous UC and Chromes disease are. Then to see him come out of these challenges so positive was amazing. If he can go through this then my challenges can be positive foundations for me.
