The first in this series featuring half demon brothers who struggle to do the right thing. In this book we see the eldest brother Keegan trying to protect Brynn who isn't quite as ordinary as she thinks from his own father no less ! Keegans father has spent countless resources searching for a magic book that can resurrect the dead but only one of a certain bloodline can recite the necessary spell. Yes you've guessed it Brynn is the last of her line but she has no idea just what she's about to get caught up in!
I was just in the mood for a paranormal romance and this book hit the spot quite nicely . It's an interesting plot with great characters to flesh it out. Not only do we get four brothers who are half demon but their unique 'other' sides make them really stand out. Add in the fact that Brynn isn't the sort of heroine to allow herself to get pushed about and it sets up quite nicely for all the action that's to follow . The romance just builds up and when all holds are off then this hot demon certainly lives up to the hype! Plus with three more brothers and a very interesting friend waiting in the wings it's very obvious that this author has a hit series on her hands .
I'd like a bit more world building if honest but would certainly recommend this to those like myself who enjoy paranormal romance

Solid 4.5 Stars

Okay I think I may have found a new series to be obsessed about.

I LOVE this book. I have one minor gripe though, hence the 4.5 star rating. Though I loved the world building here, the set up for each brothers' character, and the whole plot/point of why we are reading about these people; I wasn't all that in love with the couple.

Keegan & Brynn. Though I totally love these two as individuals, and they did have some touching, hot moments together, I just couldn't fully get behind them as a couple. I don't know. I can't put my finger on it. But it was just something about these two that didn't completely blow my mind together. Something was missing. They showed promise at the beginning and even had a few flashes of hope for me as the story progressed. But in the end they just couldn't completely close the deal for me as a couple. But I love them.

I also fell in love with this world. The plot. Everything. The execution of it was flawless, IMO. I could not & did not want to put this book down basically.

The other brothers, I totally love as well. Taeg, Ronin & Dagan Though I'm anxious to see how all their stories play out with the continuation of the plot, I will say I'm more eager to get to know Dagan & Ronin ALOT more.

I hope this is a series that only gets better with each book.
This was certainly a beyond promising, just awesome intro to this series. Though there is a continuation of the plot, there is no cliffhanger in this book. And there is an HEA for the main couple.

I HIGHLY recommend this read.

Happy Reading :)

Brynn Meyers is a not so ordinary woman with a small art gallery in New York City. When a handsome man comes into the the shop just before closing, her female interest is peaked. That is until he plants a fiver upside her jaw. Keegan and his brothers are more or less demon cops/bounty hunters for an multidimensional council. They've been sent to Earth to keep Brynn from starting the apocalypse. Kind of an auspicious beginning for a passionate love story, huh?
This book begs the question, could this be the next great series down the pike. I think it could. I just loved everything about it. The plot...great. The heroine, no simpering miss here. The hero, super hot and of course damaged, so he has that whole brooding, I need cuddling thing going on, plus the brothers....just damn. Now, I'll freely admit, I'm picky about sexual content fitting the story. I personally think hot demons should have HOT sex. Well, do you see the five star rating? Great all around book that I highly recommend.

REVIEW:
Blood of the Demon I felt had a little bit of everything, with a variety of paranormal beings, romance, action and holding your breath moments. The story reminded me a lot of Lara Adrian’s Midnight Breed Series and Gena Showalter’s Lord of the Underworld Series. Rosalie Lario has four prominent male characters as her leads and each have different powers and past that I can tell will have their own story. I enjoy series that introduce the characters, which will lead you into each book, thus making me excited for the next in the Demons of Infernum Series.

This story follows a woman named Brynn who discovers that her heritage is connected to a very power book. Which brings bounty hunters sent by their council to capture her before a darker evil does, this evil wants to take over earth. The bounty hunters are four brothers who are each half demon and half something else unique. Keegan the eldest is the one to capture Brynn, but he can’t seem to get her out of his head and starts to fall for the only woman who has ever made his blood boil. What makes all of this a little bit more difficult is that the evil madman they’re all trying to stop is the four brothers father.

Brynn was the typical tough female, who falls into a world that she never thought existed. I felt that she took in the idea of demons, fae, zombies and so on a little too easily but otherwise she was a great lead. She is special not only because of her heritage but also she holds a unique power. It’s great when a lead character can hold her own and be just as tough as the men.

Keegan, the eldest brother and smoking hot half demon and half “I’m not going to say” was just down right great. I loved his personality, his relationship and protectiveness of not only Brynn but also his brothers. The chemistry with Brynn was hot and made me blush through most of the pages. Lario really knows how to make the reader squirm in her seat with the passion that her two leads shared.

Overall a good start to a new series, Lario writes and great plot that I felt held a lot of depth for the future books. The strongest parts in the story was the relationship with the brothers,. I enjoyed their bickering moments, the bonds each had, and the wide range of entertaining personalities. The main issue I had was Keegan fighting for his feelings about Brynn, it was dragged on a little too long for my liking. But none the less this is a great recommendation for paranormal romance fans.

RECOMMENDATION:
This is an adult book with lots of sexual content, which means make sure you have a fan cause these pages get hot. Fans of Gena Showalter and Lara Adrian will devour Blood of the Demon.

Blurb:

2.5 out of 5 Stars

So, this is me reading this book...

facepalm

This is the case where I almost think I should just paste my notes that I took while I was reading the book. Alas, I will not and will actually make an attempt at a comprehensive review.

My thoughts were pretty much the same regarding the book up until about 80% of the way through. If I could describe this book I would say it's a sub-par young adult book with sex thrown in. Honestly, in my personal opinion, the writing of this book was not good. The dialogue between the characters was cheesy and stiff. The whole plot line was predictable and cliché. I struggled with even giving this book 2.5 stars, if not for the very end of the book I probably wouldn't have.

Where Lario seems to shine (and I say shine in comparison with the rest of the book, so keep that in mind) is in writing the steamy scenes. Those scenes were not quite as difficult to get through. Maybe because they weren't really talking so much...

shakinghead

All of that aside, what I couldn't get past, because really- this book was not self-published and someone should have edited it better, was this little gem .

Brynn earlier that day had read Keegan's necklace (so she could tell if he was telling her the truth, blah blah blah). She goes to sleep starts dreaming, in the middle of the dream Keegan's father (who she has seen through Keegan's memories) appears in her dream and she freaks out and wakes up and then I'm directly quoting from the book here (this appears at the 32% mark) -

She could practically feel the heat of Mammon's gaze on her naked flesh.

Mammon is the bad guy who is after Brynn because she's the heir of an ancient Egyptian blood line blah blah blah. We aren't supposed to know at this point that Keegan's dad is Mammon or at least Brynn isn't supposed to know. I mean, I had already guessed it sure and technically the book description tells you even though Lario acts like it's a big secret even to us in the writing so far. Then, to screw it up when you're writing the book and making that big secret to be some "big surprise" between Brynn and Keegan and slip up like that...

At first I was like, oh maybe it's not supposed to be a secret and kept reading. Then I get to the 60% mark and we encounter a scene with Mammon, Keegan and his brothers, and Brynn all meeting for the first time (well Brynn and Mammon at least). This is where Brynn is supposed to find out that Mammon is Keegan's father, and she says after the meeting -

"Oh, and Mammon is your father?" She turned to glare at him."That one would have been really nice to know."

Au contraire my dear Brynn, you totally knew because you called him by name after your dream way earlier in the book *facepalm*.

facepalm/

I struggled to finish this book because of the bad writing, plot holes, and horribly basic dialogue. Also, in general, major turning points of the story were glazed over and everything was just blasé. You couldn't get attached to anything or anyone because there was no reason to get attached and it was really angsty (yea I made up a word). The characters acted like they were 20 years old... it was odd.

Around the 80% mark though it finally started to get a bit more exciting, things were going on, excitement was happening. Everything was still really predictable though but, it wasn't so bad to read. Then the epilogue happened and I was like really, that's what you call an epilogue... what was the point.

makeitstop

It saddens me because the premise behind the book and the world that Lario is trying to create held great potential but in the end was just horribly executed in this book. I felt like Lario's writing also held promise, here and there throughout the book I saw a glimmer of something more, but in the end it was mainly just a disappointment.

Unfortunately, I would not recommend this book to anyone, ever. I don't imagine I'll even try to read any of the other books in this series.

That about sums it up!

Peace out!

Brynn always thought of herself as a relatively normal girl, until she was abducted and held prisoner by a handsome stranger. Keegan and his brothers were tasked to find Brynn and keep her from their father, a dangerous enemy, at ALL costs. The enemy needed the key to unlock an ancient book and gain absolute power. Because of her distant demonic bloodline, Brynn was the only key. Keegan is torn between saving an entire population and saving Brynn’s life.

Blood of The Demon is a very good read which I genuinely enjoyed reading. The story line revolves around four demon brothers, working together to stop their evil, twisted, and ambitious father. The brothers each have a different mother of a different supernatural race, and therefore they each have differing abilities. It is easy to get attached to these brothers; they do their best to be honorable despite their vicious, evil upbringing. As the oldest brother, Keegan shoulders the most responsibility and his conflict between duty and desire is affecting.

Brynn was an okay character, she was a bit demanding at times, but her character had been abducted and her life completely altered. Brynn is the type of heroine who prefers to defend herself, so it was understandable that she had a difficult time trusting her captors. The romance between Brynn and Keegan definitely added heat to the book, even their dreams were hot.

The paranormal aspects and the world building in this story are intriguing. The paranormal beings come from many different dimensions; a demon dimension, a fae dimension, a shifter dimension, there seem to be countless dimensions that make up the world in Blood of the Demon, and an abundance of material for future story lines. With compelling characters, sensual romance, and skillful writing, Blood of the Demon sets a strong foundation for a promising paranormal series. There are more books scheduled to be released in this series, and I am looking forward to finding out what’s next for the brothers.

Ever since she was a child, Brynn has had special abilities. She can touch an object and sense the history surrounding it, and she can drain the energy of others if she tries. But she never dreamed that she was anything other than completely human. Until Keegan comes to her life. The handsome stranger kidnaps her and brings her to a New York penthouse, where he and his three brothers are staying. Keegan and his brothers are all half-demons, who work as enforcers for a kind of interspecies-council. They've been tasked to track Brynn down because of her special heritage.

Brynn is the last remaining descendant of an ancient Egyptian who created a book that can raise zombies. Only her blood can unlock the book's spells. The evil and powerful demon Mammon is after the book and plans to use it (and Brynn) to take over the Earth. To stop him, the brothers must either beat him to the book or keep Brynn out of his reach... even if that means killing her.

Of course, it doesn't take long before the spark between Brynn and Keegan to grow into a fire neither can ignore. Keegan has never sought anything for himself in his life. His only concerns have been his brothers and his duty. But Brynn touches him on a gut-level. I really enjoyed watching the two of them give in to their attraction. The sexual tension was hot and the love scenes, steamy. It was also powerful to watch Keegan struggle with making the right choices.

I enjoyed the story. The concept is simple and the world building is easy to understand. I really liked that the brothers are each made unique by their individual heritage. Their bond will clearly hold up over the course of multiple books, but their distinct quirks should keep things fresh. (I loved the reveal on Keegan's genetic background, BTW. What a great combination!)

There were a couple of plot points where I felt like I figured things out too quickly. Then I wondered if maybe I was supposed to. It just took a little while for some reveals to catch up with things that were made obvious. But it didn't really cut down on my enjoyment. I liked Brynn well enough, but the brothers are really the selling point of the book. Add to that a thoroughly nasty villain, a fast moving plot and some good sex --and you've got a winner. 4 stars.

This is a C read for me.

Conceptually it was cool. I Loved the different dimensions, and spin on Angels and Demons. I liked the demons themselves. My problem lay with the way the characters were written. It was very shallow. They had depth, but we are told a few things, but not shown them. For example, the hero and heroine are talking and it slips out that the heroine was kidnapped when she was eleven, tied, and near being raped, then that's the end of the discussion. It was just thrown in there, and then gone. The hero, suffered unbearable cruelty at the hands of his demon father, however we aren't allowed to witness that through their communication, instead the heroine "sees" this happen by touching his necklace, thus creating an instant emotional link to the hero.

I enjoyed the sexual tension between Keegan and Brynn.

I really did like all the demons and their 'hidden' talents. Keegan has 3 half brothers. They are half-breeds and what they are each bred with was pretty darn cool, each of them different. I would have liked to have seen a bit more done with this, and hope we will see more in future books. We are given glimpses, while I wanted more.

Favorite Quote:

"We can't run forever," she said. He tugged her head backword so he could stare into her eyes. His gaze was bright and earnest. "Brynn, I can fly. We'll soar all over this world, if that's what it takes."

It wasn't a bad book, I read it pretty quickly, and it captivated me. But it felt like something was missing. I just can't put my finger on what, exactly.

The plot revolves around the Book and Zombies... With Brynn, of course being the Key :P I think this bothered me a bit. Perhaps because of the way they are all searching for this book. It reminded me of Karen Moning, and perhaps that's not fair, but well, as they say, it is what it is. It was even called the book lol

Blood of the Demon from the "Demons of Infernum" by ROSALIE LARIO is now one of my favorite books in this genre. I loved the world she created and the characters that live in this new world. This series includes four half Brothers that are all GORGEOUS. They were sired by the same evil demon but by four very different supernatural/fae mothers. The mothers were all strategically picked for their gifts, powers, and abilities to pass on to his sons. Half dragon and half demon Keegon is the eldest brother who leads Taeg,Dagan and Ronin on a search for Brynn Meyers who is the key to stopping Their fathers diabolical plan. Keegan finds Brynn before his father does lucky for her but she doesn't know that they have been sent to kill her if need be.... There is just too much good stuff in this book. I was always on the end of my seat to find out what was going to happen next. I like The main couple (Keegan and Brynn)they are a believable couple and are not corny at all. I have not had this much fun reading for a while and I would recommend this Book to anyone who likes Paranormal/Fantasy/Romance. I have read many books in this genre and was pleasantly surprised by the way Roalie Lario made it seem new again. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.

Am I reading demon books? yes, I am... but this one is not good.

An art dealer is kidnapped by a mysterious man. He punches her in the head to knock her out. **blinks** he couldn't have done it in a non violent way? hmm? he has allllll the powers... and it's insta-lust - ewww.

Her fists clenched into tight balls at her side, and her chest heaved in a way that accentuated what lay beneath her top. (p. 21).

what?

She shouts at them to speak English, and later the hero thinks she is probably wondering what they are saying. No, dude, she actually SAID IT. oh no, I'm editing - we're done here.

It is an older title - first published 2011 - so maybe that's it, but it sounds as if she has attempted to copy the Black Dagger Brotherhood dialogue; and it just doesn't fit. [for the record that dialogue irks me IN the BDB books - 2005 was the first one, so maybe that's it.]

Blood of the Demon had been on my TBR list for a while when my awesome blog team leader, Jodie, asked me if I'd like to review it. Naturally I jumped at the chance to read it. Boy, am I happy that I got to read this too. It was a good start to what appears is going to be a fantastic series.

Keegan was a man on a mission. He was going to save the world from being destroyed. He and his brothers had taken the job that the Elden Council, the interdimensional ruling body, had given them. They were to find the key to the Apocalypse - who just happened to be a woman. If necessary, they were to kill her in order to keep the big bad, Mammon - an insane ex-council member who just happens to be their father - from starting Armageddon. The only problem was, Keegan was instantly attracted to the woman and certain parts of his anatomy didn't really care that he may have to end her life.

Brynn Meyer had no idea she had descended from an Egyptian priest and his succubus love. Seriously. Who can trace their ancestry back three thousand years? She did however possess a legacy from from her great however-many-times-over grandparents. She could "read" the past of any object she touched. She could also drain a person of all their energy, dropping them to the ground like a stone.

When Keegan kidnapped Bryn "for her own good" she had a hard time believing his story about him being some kind of special government agent assigned to protect her. There was definitely something more to him than met the eye. She couldn't use her powers against him. Little did she know that was truly a demon. All that she was aware of was was his absolutely phenomenal good looks and her uncharacteristically sever attraction to him.

I liked this book a lot. Like I said earlier, I have a feeling that this series is going to be sensational. BotD is a great start to the Demons of Infernum series. The storyline was engaging and the first 1/3 of the book fly by for me. I was really into it. Something else that really pleased me about BotD was the fact that the demons weren't your standard hell demons. These guys have no connection to hell or Satan. The demons in this series are actually different races of beings from other dimensions. Another good thing about this book was the devotion that Keegan showed to his brothers and in the end, Brynn. It was something that touched my heart.

There is something that I must impress upon you. Rosalie Lario can sure write a bag guy. It was so easy to hate Mammon. He's not only a complete a-hole but a child abuser as well. How can a man treat his sons the way he treated his own? The way that the boys were conceived was a travesty! How could the Council let him get away with it? One thing is for certain, Lario writes bad guys that we love to hate!

There was a few issues with this book IMO. The worst being the way that the pace kinda stalled out in the middle. I'm not sure what it was, things were just flying along and then suddenly it was as if we came up against so major turbulence. I knocked BotD off course for a while. Happily though, the pace picked up about 2/3 of the way through, just as the big confrontation with Mammon began. Once we got back on track the story took off again, taking us on a ride full of action and leading us to a truly fantastic HEA with a wonderful set up for the next book in the series, Mark of the Sylph.

Blood of the Demon was an enjoyable read and I can't wait to see what Rosalie Lario has in store for us next with Taeg's story!

Favorite mini passage...

“Let me guess," Brynn said from across the room. "Another brother, right?"

Keegan glanced at Brynn, who was staring at Ronin with an expression of disbelief. He switched back to English. "This is our younger brother, Ronin."

"Of course he is." Brynn let out an incredulous chuckle. "Did they specifically breed you guys in a lab or something?"

He exchanged a confused look with Ronin. What did that mean?

Bryn must have caught the look, because she explained, "Since you're all so hot, I mean.”

Brynn Meyers has always known that she's different. Able to read an object's history just by touching it, and to defend herself by draining energy from others through touch, she has tried to live quietly and has established an art gallery using the money left to her after her parents' death. Her quiet life is shattered, one day, when a drop-dead gorgeous Keegan enters her gallery and knocks her out before kidnapping her. Waking in a strange room, she's horrified to discover that her powers don't work on him.

Keegan is a demon. However, demons are not inherently evil, nor do they all conform to the physical characteristics that humans have liked to categorize them with. Instead, demons are merely creatures from other dimensions, and just like humans, span a wide spectrum of good vs evil.

Desperate to shake off the legacy of hatred and pain that his father attempted to bestow on him and his three half-brothers, Keegan will do anything to prevent Mammon from succeeding in his latest plan to unearth the Book of the Dead. Capable of raising massive armies of the deceased, the Book of the Dead can only be wielded by an ancestor of the ancient Egyptian priest who created it.

Unfortunately for Brynn, she is the only living ancestor, and therefore the one human that Mammon will do anything to control. Knowing his duty is to protect Brynn from Mammon if possible, Keegan and his brothers have also sworn to execute her if necessary to keep the world safe. But when Keegan begins to fall for Brynn, he will have to learn to embrace the darker, deadlier side of him that he's tried so hard to suppress.

I admit, the first few chapters seemed to be missing something. I never was quite able to put my finger on it, but I'm very happy to say that as the story progressed, things either righted themselves or I merely stopped noticing, because this shaped up to be an absolutely incredible introduction into the Demons of Infernum series.

Keegan and his brothers are all smokin' hot, and I really enjoyed the whole Big Brother Protector vibe that Keegan had throughout the story.
There's just something about a broody alpha male that makes me all mushy for some reason. *dreamy sigh*

While I wish that Brynn's cool "power draining" ability had come into greater play, I admit that I enjoyed her character as a whole, despite her tendency to be a wee bit pigheaded. Having been able to protect herself for her entire life, it was rather understandable that she would on occasion ignore some of the danger she was in, simply because she's not used to truly being vulnerable.

The love scenes were deliciously intense, and the whole "forbidden romance" aspect helped to ratchet up the tension admirably.

Overall, I really enjoyed it, and think it's going to make a hell of a series (pun intended) ;)

Keegan and his brothers have been sent to earth to find and stop their demon father before he raises an army of the dead. In order to do this they'll need to locate a lost book and the last remaining decedent of it's creator. Once Brynn is found, an instant attraction if formed and Keegan may be forced to choose between the woman he cares for and the only chance to stop a madman from taking over all worlds.

Brynn Meyers has known she has special abilities since she was a young child but never understood where they came from. Keegan and his brothers finally shed light on its origins but not all news is good news. They also inform her that she's the key to figuring out how to make a zombie army using the Book of the Dead. Now she's on the run and trying to stay one step ahead of a demon, who happens to be Keegan's father, and his minions. I didn't care for Brynn at all. Her character was boring and too passive. Keegan would put her in a locked room or drag her from one place to another and she'd barely put up a fight or argue with him. I wanted her to have more of a backbone for what she is but it just wasn't there. She's an easily forgettable heroine.

Keegan and his brothers were abused by their father so his mission to stop him is personal. As he spends more time with Brynn, his priorities change from stopping his father to protecting Brynn at all costs. A lot of time is spent on him fighting his feelings for Brynn and I really didn't care for any of that because I was invested in the outcome of their relationship at all. I didn't feel any real emotional connection between them and even the scenes where they were physical lacked any real spark.

The relationship that I did love was the one Keegan had with his 3 half brothers. Their father abused them in order to make them into the men he wanted them to be and through it all they banded together and finally escaped. They were there for each other when no one else was and even though they have the usual brotherly spats, their relationship is solid and part of what kept me reading.

The other thing I liked was the worlds and creatures author Rosalie Lario came up with. There are different species, from dragons to demons to angels, living on different worlds and alternate dimensions and they are watched over by the Elden Council, a governing body made up of members from a variety of worlds. The details weren't overwhelming but rather just enough to peek my interests and be one of the few reasons I would consider continuing this series.

Blood of the Demon wasn't terrible but it wasn't all that great either. I had major issues with the heroine and Keegan didn't really wow either. I was more interested in the relationship he had with his brothers than the one he had with Brynn. The plot was kind of interesting interesting and the villain was particularly vile but the pace of the book would be dragged down by scenes of Keegan fighting his feelings for Brynn. Learning about the different species did pick things back up again but I can't say if it was enough to guarantee I'd be back for the second installment in this series.

Brynn has never considered herself normal since she has been able to wield a strange power from a young age, but she never thought of herself as anything but human until the day she was kidnapped by a handsome stranger and then her whole world was turned upside down.
Keegan and his brothers are interdimensional bounty hunters charged with the task of finding an ancient book and capturing Brynn, who is the key to the powerful and dangerous ‘Book of the Dead’ and keeping her out of the hands of the evil Mammon, who wants to use the book to raise an army and take over the Earth. If they fail to find the book before Mammon does then they have been ordered to kill Brynn and prevent Mammon from reaching his evil ambitions at all costs.

In Blood of the Demon, Rosalie Lario has built a complex and interesting world that follows the life of four brothers who are half demon. Each brother comes from a different mother and has different abilities from each other but were all taken from their mothers at a young age to be raised by their cruel, power hungry father. Surviving that torment and finally escaping, they now seek his destruction. Keegan, being the eldest, has always felt responsible for each of them and would put his life on the line for any one of his brothers. He was an awesome and honorable hero that I had no trouble falling in love with right away.

Brynn and Keegan’s chemistry sizzled from the start but was fought by both characters, that didn’t stop their subconscious minds from dreaming though…I’ll let you think about that one for a bit. ;) Their relationship was rife with subterfuge and secrets though that were slowly peeled away one layer at a time throughout the story, giving it great mystery and adding wonderful sexual tension.

Brynn made a good heroine, though I get a bit annoyed with character names that I have to figure out the pronunciation to every time I read it! Does it sound like Brin, Brine, or what? I dunnoh. LoL I liked her independence though and her willingness to defend herself, and also her understanding when it came to Keegan’s powerful struggle between his brothers, his duty, and the woman he is falling in love with. All of these struggles led to several sexually intense and emotionally tormenting scenes that just sucked me into the story more.

This paranormal world in Blood of the Demon was incredibly inventive and I found it intriguing that each species came from different dimensions, including angels, and were all ruled by a rather lax Elden Council. The author created an easy to follow paranormal story line with aspects from Egyptian mythology as well with her wonderful writing style. A dangerous and passionate story that is a promising start to a new series; I look forward to future stories about the rest of the brothers who were unique and captivating in their own right.

This book releases on August 2, 2011 and this review will be posted on my blog, Smitten with Reading, on that date...

My Review:
After being raised by their cruel, sadistic father, Keegan and his 3 half-brothers have gone to work for the Council as enforcers. Their job on earth is to find the Book that could lead to the apocalypse for this world and, if that is not possible, then to kill the Heir who is the only person capable of wielding the power that the Book holds.

The Heir is none other than Brynn, art gallery owner and normal human person...at least as far as she knows. Brynn has always had powers, but she has no idea that she has demon blood flowing through her veins or, for that matter, that demons really exist. So when Keegan knocks her out and kidnaps her for her own safety, she is a bit reluctant to buy into his whole story. But when a horde of 10 demons crashes into her apartment trying to kill the brothers and kidnap her, she is forced to face some scary-looking creatures and to accept that maybe she doesn't know all there is to know about her heritage or other aspects of the supernatural world.

I really enjoyed this book. It's a really interesting world with a whole new twist on angels and demons. The four brothers have come from incredible evil. Their father was a demon who raped and tortured their mother's to impregnate them. They all have different mothers who were chosen based upon their distinctive skills and race. The brothers are all half demon, but the other halves are Dragon, Fae, Angel, and Siren with each of them having their own special skill-set based on their mother's race. Despite being raised under their father's cruel watch, they have turned out to be incredibly good guys with an incredible bond of love to each other. I loved all the scenes where they were interacting together. They have a great relationship and I can't wait until the rest of their books are out.

Brynn is the perfect match for Keegan. Her world has been totally turned upside down, but she accepts that there is not much that she can change about that. She is brave, even if a bit brash. She will do whatever it takes to save Keegan no matter how much the prospect terrifies her. She is willing to power through and do whatever needs to be done and I loved that about her!

This was a fantastic first novel in the series. (BTW, most of you know that I am NOT usually a big fan of first novels in paranormal series because they tend to get bogged down in all the world-building. That completely was NOT an issue in this book which jumped right into the action. I loved that about it!!) I completely enjoyed reading it and look forward to reading the others when they come out!

Blood of the Demon was a fast paced read filled with Sexy as sin – Hybrids and Demons. . Lario created an intriguing storyline, with interesting characters, all created with their own personalities and abilities. Four brothers work as bounty hunters, they have been sent to Earth to find and recover * The Book of the Dead * before Mammon tries to start an apocalypse with the dead. ** Zombies** they must find the Heir of the Egyptian bloodlines – if the book is not found they must then deal with the forth comings.

Keegan is sent to retrieve the book, but upon meeting Byrnn is unsure if and when the time comes he will be able to destroy the Heir even if it means to save the world from Mammon. He found that his attraction to Brynn is like no other but as he tries to avoid that pull, he only finds himself wanting her more. The attraction between Brynn and Keegan is smoking hot!! Lario has put for this well, giving the reader - heat in all the right places ((wink wink))

Brynn is gifted – she can read ancient objects and also has the ability to project power from her palms. But upon meeting Keegan and his brothers she now realizes she is not alone in the world with her special abilities, that these men are not at all what they seem. Brynn is strong, and kick arse and Brave. I really enjoyed her character – She was not a whiny poor me character but put forth with Character and strength.

Lario has scripted her characters well, giving them all their own definition and depth in this read. The Demons of Infernum - is filled with all the goodies one could want in a paranormal read. Sexy moments, great storyline- intriguing plot, and a fluent and flowing storyline that will keep the reader intrigued till the very end. Lots of action, humour and banter thrown in to break up that dark side that lurks throughout and also with many vivid details, to also give the reader insight into the world in which she has created. I enjoyed the closeness that Rosalie has created between the brothers, this was heartfelt and also heartwarming and the connection she has entwined througout the story gives great depth into there relationship.

The plot for this book has been set up well, giving us detail to go with for future books in this series.

A fantastic debut for Lario and I certainly look forward to more of her books and the sexy hybrids that she has created.

Angels,Demons,Fae, and Sirens... A great blend of Smexiness and strength , yet darkness that lurks....

Be prepared to be drawn into the pages, and immerse hours later, sated, and content with The World of Rosalie's Hybrids - Demons scurrying through your thoughts. Sexy men will always linger a little while longer (( snickers ))

What more could I want in a book; demons, the apocalypse, hunky bounty hunters and a conflicted hero that is torn between love and duty? All are elements I am instantly attracted to in a book. Also, the book cover, though subtle, attracted me. I like the combination of colors and the subtle flames of the red rising up to the cool blue of the lovers.

The story starts out quickly but then drags a bit through the introduction and story setup. Once that is through, the story pacing gets better as it heads towards it climatic ending. I enjoyed the romance between Brynn and Keegan. There is an instant attraction between the two characters that practically leaps off the page and then steadily heats up from there. Keegan does try to resist the attraction but ultimately gives it. Keegan’s reasons for his holdout are revealed as the story progresses and I did believe them I just thought he made a bit too much out of them.

Interwoven with the romance is a second storyline about an evil presence that is also pursuing Brynn. Involved in that storyline are Keegan’s brothers and just let me say they were the highlight of the book for me. I loved their characters and their abilities, as well as the storyline about how each has a different ability and why. The closeness between the brothers was a joy to read and I can’t wait to read the upcoming brothers stories (Mark of the Slyph is Taeg’s story and is due out in September 2011). Another intriguing secondary character is the villain in pursuit of Brynn. His goal is to rule the world(s) and he will not hesitate to use/kill Brynn to do it. His evilness is so bad it is good.

Blood of Demon is a great paranormal romance addition to any bookshelf and highly recommended for paranormal fans who are suckers for romance, demons and alpha males.

What would you do if you found out you were the key to causing the end of your world?

Keegan and his brothers are bounty hunters. No, they’re not like Dog the Bounty Hunter; they’re demon bounty hunters who travel between dimensions for their prey. Their latest assignment is to find and destroy the only human capable of a zombie apocalypse, Brynn. Only problem is, they aren’t the only ones looking for her, and if she falls into the wrong hands, it could mean the end of the world. All he has to do is bag and tag her, but that becomes one of his biggest problems since he can’t stop thinking about the woman he’s holding captive in his heart.

Brynn always knew she was different. With her ability to read memories from an inanimate object and her gift for sucking the energy out of you with a single touch, her life was considered…. safe. But when Keegan kidnaps her and her gift seems to malfunction, she starts to fear for her life. When she learns of her true identity and how important she is to saving her world, she does anything to save it as well as the man who captured not only her body, but her heart as well.

What will they do when they face their toughest decision, save the world, or save each other?

Blood of the Demon is filled with lust, love, action and steamy scenes in between. Would I have wanted more action? Just a little. Did I want to get more of Keegan and his world? Absolutely. And do I want to get more of Keegan’s brother, Taeg? Oh yea. But it didn’t matter because these hot demon brothers have me all kinds of interested in what they’re capable of.

Hm... okay Demons and an artist who owns an art gallery. Yep, I had to read this one. It was a moral imperative! Brynn is the artist and was kidnapped by Keegan and his brothers, all half demons. She is a wanted commodity in their world all because of a long ago ancestor who dared to defy a council who oversees dimensions. She is the key to awakening a army of zombies. Keegan falls for Brynn and together they try to find away to thwart evil. Evil Keegan is very familiar with.

I have to say that I did have a hard time connecting to Keegan and Brynn at the beginning of the story. They fell hard and fast and I think I needed more character building before that happened, especially since this is book 1 in this series. I did like the brother's chemistry with each other. Fighting because they loved each other made it seem like they were family and they were loyal to each other. I think I would have enjoyed more of that. However, as the story went along and you really get into the adventure, I finally did begin to connect to the main characters. By the end, I really liked Brynn and am curious about the next scrape she gets into. Yes, there is a set up for the next book, but this one is complete. No cliffie!

I give this story 3 stars. Despite the beginning, I did enjoy the ending. I am looking forward to the next installment of the Demons of Infernum.

I want to give a huge THANK YOU to Jessica at Entangled for allowing me to read BOTD. Man oh man from the very beginning I could not put this book down. Who would not want to read about four gorgeous brothers. Can you say H-E-L-L-O! So enough of my crazy rantings and on to the review.

Keegan is one of four brothers. He is very protective of his brothers and now he is given the duty to protect Brynn. Brynn is a special girl who can get an objects history by touching it. She is also the key to the Apocalypse. See she can raise an ancient zombie army and destroy the world. Keegan will stop at nothing to save her but while saving her he finds himself in a peculiar situation. See has has fallen for her and he does not need that right now.

Keegan's father has different plans for his son and when his boys have to hunt him down and turn him in all hell hits the fan. Keegan knows that his father wants Brynn more than anything in his life but Keegan is determined to protect her and keep her away from his crazy father. Keegan will have to choose between revenge or love. Which will he choose? Will he be able to protect Brynn from danger? Will Brynn melt his heart with her love? My god I could go on but I do not want to spoil it for the readers. I am placing this book on the reading radar for those of you who love bad men trying to do good.

When Brynn finds herself abducted by a handsome stranger she is a little confused as she's always known she was special in some way. Keegan and his brothers have to find her and keep her away from their father. Brynn is the key to unlocking an ancient book with absolute power. Keegan has to save Brynn and the world!

This book has a little of everything from the paranormal to some very sexy scenes that will leave you blushing and getting hot ;-)

For some reason I didn't take to Brynn from the start and it wasn't until about two thirds through that I actually felt any kind of desire to know more about her. I was definitely more intrigued by the world of the brothers, especially Keegan. The way they were protective of each other and the way they just had this great bond between them. Their characters literally fell out of the pages and it was like you could really know them.

I would definitely recommend this book and I'm about two thirds through the second book (review next week) and it's following on from this and it's awesome. The whole forbidden love aspect really gets pulled into a hot and steamy one!

If you're after a new series to get into then this one would be perfect for you. I'm hooked and who doesn't like hot brothers...

;-)

I really liked the story concept. I could see the background scenes very clearly like the apartment and her store. I also thought her power was cool. The sex scene were also very hot and the ending surprised me which is good.

My issue with the book had to with the male characters. They were all demons from a demon world, but all were too soft. I thought making them gritty would add edge, but she never went there. Because of that, I thought the dialogue suffered. Sometimes, this book felt like a draft versus a published novel.

This is a debut and I think the author has potential. I expect that she will work out the "kinks" as she progresses through the rest of the series. I will read the second one because it's about Taeg who happens to be my favorite male character. Plus, he's half fey so that means the next book should be quite sausy. :-)

3.5 Stars for me.

This book has dragon, fae, angel, demon, and succubi, which is my mind a true paranormal romance. Well I was not disappoint reading the story. I love all viewpoints with the hero and heroine and loved receiving other characters thoughts too. As for the the villain point of view....I love it. I enjoyed his side and he was crazy. You know the story is good when the fan can't wait to see what else the villain is thinking.

Fans will smile for the sexy hero, stand by the the smart, courageous heroine, and listen to the villain with apocalypse on the brain. The tale has great characters, and an entertaining plot!

Blood of the Demon was a hawt, fast paced and gripping read. Lario created an intriguing world of demon's and hybrids that won't let you go. The romance between Keegan and Brynn was so hawt, I needed a seriously cold drink on several occasions.

Totally enjoyed this and I hope Taeg's story is next. :)

Blood of the Demon (Demons of Intern um Book 1)

The love story of Keegan and Brynn. Brothers-Keegan, Ronin, Taeg and Dagan, was order by the Counsel to kill Brynn if their father, Mammon finds the Book of the Death. Can they kill an innocent? Great story.
