I should probably use this space to reiterate what I already have in the book description so readers don't dive into this novel without knowing what to expect. Falling In Between is really meant for mature YA (17+), which is New Adult, and adult readers. This is a coming of age story so there is some sexual content. No - LOL - you won't find it on every page, every other page, or even every chapter, but it is there. So if you don't like your characters going beyond kissing, I can promise you that Falling In Between won't be your cup of tea. But if you're of age, like a simple, sexy read with a little humor and wit and a slight paranormal twist, then this may be right up your alley.

What a great book. It has a little paranormal twist to it and the characters were all likable. I think there will be mixed opinions on if there's "cheating" and a love triangle in this book. Me personal, I say yes on the "cheating" and no on the love triangle. This book kept my interest and I was sucked into this storyline really quickly. I read this in one day. This was actually better than what I thought. I came across this series by chance and it didn't disappoint.

What can I say about Falling In Between?
Well first of all I didn't really know what to expect when I jumped into this book. You see I don't generally like, what I call "bubble gum smack", YA Contemporary. Basically what I mean is...if it's not full of sparkle-pires, yummy shirtless werewolves, or a tragic suicide/death...then I'm probably not going to dig it all that much.
Did I dig this book? Ummmm let's see...I read the entire thing in one sitting and couldn't put it down. Does that answer your question?
With a heavy does of romance and a heaping side of tragic this book was an easy read for me. I was completely socked by how much I liked it. Especially with that cover. I have to admit that I DON'T like the cover one bit. In fact I think that this book should have a very different cover altogether. One with a little mystery and intrigue, and a whole lot less on the poofy pink dress.
Why? Because it doesn't really fit the main character all that well and to top it off the cover almost made me not want to read it, because I thought the characters where going to be worrying about mani/pedi's and pink lip gloss, which couldn't be further from the truth.
This book is about Jenna and while she goes to a rich prep school she is not at all preppy. In fact she is a ward of the state and is there on scholarship, because let's face it, it beats staying in a group home. Luckily for her no one, besides her roommate, knows that she isn't just another rich brat.
After her roommate dares her to jump off a cliff into a pond, things take a turn for the worst. As in Jenna lands on a rock, drowns, and then is pulled out of the water and brought back to life by the guy that she's had a crush on ever since she started at this school. Oh and did I forget to mention that she's only wearing a bra and underwear? Yea it would be embarrassing if she wasn't unconscious.
But who would have thought that all she would have to do is die a little for Robert to finally notice her? After waking up in a hospital bed a few days later and finding him sitting next to her bed she finds out that he saved her.
Now I don't want to give away the whole story here so I'll say this. Jenna has a voice that is very real and down to earth. In fact she made me laugh a few times. I couldn't devour the pages fast enough. This book is the right amount of heavy drama mixed with romance and somehow it manages to keep it light at the same time. So if your looking for a book that will tug at your heart strings just a smidge, but will make you swoon A LOT, then this is the book for you!

My Thoughts:
Okay, let me start off with: I didn't even know this book existed. I just received an event notification, inviting me to buy this book for like $2, so I did. At first, I didn't know what the hell I was reading. I didn't even read the description, I just jumped right into it. Surprisingly, I enjoyed it a lot.
The first time Jenna experienced the 'dream' with Chance and woke up, I was bewildered. Honestly, in that moment I thought: Whoa. This is some inception type shit right here. And soon, I became used to the idea that Jenna would have Robert during the day, and Chance at night. Admittedly, I was mad at Jenna for a little bit. Chance shows up in her dreams almost every night, and she doesn't even question why? I would ask so many questions. Even if it was her imagination, and Chance wasn't real, why would she conjure up someone so specific? Someone who knows where they want to go in life? The fact that she didn't really question anything until she saw Chance laying in that hospital bed made me slightly mad.
The romance between Robert and Jenna was adorable, though. Their teasing banter was so witty and cute, and I just loved it. I even loved her rendezvous with Chance. Chance was so charming and seductive and just plain irresistible. I understood why Jenna had to take a break from Robert, but that doesn't mean I liked it. Chance didn't remember her. So what? How much did she know the guy anyway? For crying out loud, she didn't even know his last name or his birthday until she asked him. All Jenna liked about Chance was his touch. With Robert, she's known and had a crush on him for about a year now, and she finally gets the guy she's crushing on. DO YOU KNOW HOW RARE THAT IS FOR ME?! Plus, if Chance did remember Jenna, what would happen next? Would they continue where they left off? Would she leave Robert in the dust? …Eh. They were just dreams, after all.
I think I teared up once while reading this book. I forgot when though. I think it was when Chance didn't remember her. I think. I'm not sure, though. I know I'm complaining a lot about how Jenna did things, but I really, really liked the book. Her decisions make up what happens. I'm just voicing my opinion. I really loved the ending though.<3

So the beginning of this book was hard for me to read bc the MC drowns and boy oh boy the descriptions were so spot on I found myself holding my breathe along with the the MC. Talk about one of my greatest fears :) obviously if I'm holding my breathe the author did a fantastic job with putting the reader side by side with Jenna. The relationships were real and the banter felt easy, not at all forced. The first dream scene threw me for a loop. Even though I knew it was coming I didn't expect it. I grew to adore Chance but I also really liked Jenna with Robert. I felt the heartbreak when Chance/E came around and I really wanted to slap Jenna for the time out...but it all played out just as I had hoped. Now, the little ?? at the end has me hopeful! I will most definitely be on the look out for more from this author!
***I must add that yes there is sexual content but nothing too graphic and honestly nothing any teenager these days are doing that would be cause for shock and awe. There is some language but it's used in a way that didn't seem out of context. I do believe that the author put a warning on this book so if slight MATURE matters 'offend' you then this isn't the book for you. Maybe Dr Suess is a better suit....

This was the first book I have read by Devon, so I wasn't sure what to expect. But I must say I am extremely happy that I signed up for her tour!! Our story begins with two teenage girls sneaking around trying to get into some mischief. Pretty normal for around that age:). Jenna had been avoiding jumping off of the cliff into the pond. Yes, she had seen her roommate successfully jump several times, but it didn't make it any easier for her to do it. She had taken the walk of shame, rather than jump, a few times before. She had convinced herself that if she could make this jump, then she ultimately could finally dredge up the nerve to talk to Robert. Scary thing was the jump off the cliff was looking like a breeze in comparison. So she jumps, and almost drowns. This is why I always walked away from dares because that would have sooo happened to me. Luckily, her crush just happened to not only be on the swimteam, but also close by when her roommate starting screaming for help. So Robert, her crush, has now become her personal hero. But something happens to Jenna before Robert finds her and brings her back to life. She finds herself in a rainbow void where she bumps into another person. And just before CPR brings her back from the dead, a connection between them sparks to life
Jenna is a loner, not necessarily by choice, but she has learned not to get close to anyone. Her roommate being the only exception. They were instant friends upon meeting and Jenna found it impossible not to let her in. After she wakes up in the hospital, she is surprised to see that her roommate isn't the only one who has been visiting. Robert had consistently stayed with her as well. As bad as she knew she looked, she was incredibly happy that her crush finally noticed her. Who knew a near-death experience would finally land her a date? But after she comes off of her medication, she starts dreaming of another guy, the same one she met in the void. And that's when her life really becomes interesting.
Jenna has been unable to emotionally connect with anyone most of her life. So when Chance suddenly appears every night in her dreams, she feels as if its ok to be free with him because, well, he is just a dream. Through her experiences with Chance, she forms an emotional bond with him. One that is shocking hard to break. She truly is living two completely different lives, one by day, and the other in her dreams. In reality, its hard to say who actually saved who in this book. While Robert saved Jenna from dying, I think Chance helped Jenna actual live. Before the accident Jenna was so focused on her grades that she wasn't enjoying anything going on around her. Chance helped her see that it was ok to let people in. So was Chance real or just her dream guy? That you'll have to find out for yourself!! This book was an excellent read and had very lovable and relateable characters in it. I was enchanted with this book and enjoyed it immensely. I will defiantly be keeping an eye out for Devon's future works!!!

I absolutely loved this book! I want to thank Devon for allowing me to be a part of her blog tour and allowing me to read this GREAT book. I read it on New Year's Eve. What a way to bring in the new year with a bang! Devon has crafted a world where I could not get enough.
Jenna is a ward of the state but she was awarded a scholarship to go to the local private Boarding school because of her grades. While there at school Jenna becomes best friends with Sophie her roommate. They do everything together and share everything like sisters. Then Jenna tells Sophie how she has a crush on Robert. It is their senior year and she wants to talk to him and get to know him before they leave for college. So Sophie and Jenna decide they are going to jump off a cliff for fun before school starts in the hopes that they get to see Robert and Jhett.
Once Jenna jumps she is filled with excitement because she finally jumped but when she plunges in the water she realizes something is very wrong because she is underwater for a long time. While she is under the water she hears this voice and sees this guy standing there looking at her. She walks towards him and they start talking. Then everything goes fuzzy and they start to cling to each other but Jenna wakes up and she realizes she is in the hospital. She is not sure how she got there and why she is there. She sees Robert by her bedside and realizes something happened.
As things start to unfold for Jenna she starts having these crazy dreams about this guy but she is not sure if they are real or fake. As time goes by things happen and Jenna starts to question her sanity thinking she really did lose something when she jumped off that cliff. Jenna will have to make decisions and choices that scare her. She will have to face someone she loves but can't be with and the most important thing is Jenna will have to chose to stay in dream land of wake up and be in reality. Whatever she chooses will hurt her but she must decide what is best for her.
Come along for an adventure of a lifetime. Read a story that will have you laughing, crying and cheering for the two swoon worthy guys but in the end Jenna will have to choose what to do!

We were caged within my dreams, but for the first time ever, I learned to love. So real or imaginary, Chance was and always will be, one of my first true loves.

This book has so much more to offer than that gorgeous cover. The main character was very dynamic, she doesn't feel like a character guided by the author, she feels like the author's creation who goes on to form a story. The main character, Jenna, is fun and likable. When she has what one could call a "bad fall," her life changes. During her drowning, she meets a boy named Chance. Chance is apparently also in the "in-between." The book takes off from there with sharp turns in the plot and surprises that will leave the reader guessing.
Jenna as a character appears very real. She behaves just like one might expect a teenage female to behave. She has to make a choice between two very different boys, a decision that she does not take lightly. Chance, one of the love interests, is not easy to dismiss. He is very gentle with Jenna. Robert, the guy Jenna has had a crush on, obviously cares for Jenna. The author does not make the choice between the two guys easy, but it does serve to draw out the reader's attention and anticipation.
The plot itself was very interesting. The idea of an in-between is different and the author portrays the idea as novel and intriguing. The events were fast-paced, the characters drove the plot and events. The carefully constructed relationships between the characters were done with obvious care on the authors' part, they all fit in like puzzle pieces. The majority of the characters were likable and easy to relate too. Young adult/teen readers will be excited for this book.

Loved this book. Suspenseful reading while waiting for Jenna to choose her guy. The outcome is a nice one and although I loved Jenna's choice it could have had a very different outcome. That possibility alone keeps you turning page after page! Wonderfully done!

FALLING IN BETWEEN was hot. That is the easiest way to describe this book. It is steamy. When I signed up to be a part of Devon Ashley’s blog tour, she warned us that this book is for the older Young Adult audience and she was NOT kidding. Though, a bit steamy it was very good.
Before I get into my review can I just say that it made me smile that I share a birthday with a fictional character, especially one as yummy as Chance? Yes. I smiled big time. So now that that is out of the way, let’s get to it!
Jenna Barker doesn’t know her parents and grew up in the system, going from foster family to foster family so got into this ‘rich kid’ school solely on scholarship, which she is very proud of. She has an accident and dies at the beginning of this book but her longtime crush; Robert brings her back after she nearly drowns after jumping off a cliff. But before Jenna is brought back she meets a boy in the in between…a boy who starts to visit her in her dreams.
During the day, she has Robert who is her new boyfriend and at night, when she closes her eyes she has Chance. It’s not cheating if it’s not real, right? That’s what Jenna thinks until she starts feeling guilty because she’s not as reserved for Chance, this random boy who visits her nightly. Things take a complete turn when we find out Chance isn’t a random, made believe boy in her dreams…
I don’t think this would be a book parents would be happy with their kids reading, however, if you’re one of those kids (no, not kids but teens) then I think this is a good book for you to be reading. It’s a coming of age story; one that I think would help you see that it’s OK not to just jump in a bed with some cute boy because “everyone else is doing it”. It’s OK to be reserved, to want to take things slow…get to know who you’re involved with. It’s actually better that way, I think. My first relationship was a lot like Jenna and Robert’s relationship…more or less. If the guy doesn’t rush you and is OK with taking things slow than it truly shows you how much he cares for you. Just my opinion…
Now, should Jenna feel guilty about seeing this other guy in her dreams, since it’s not like most dreams (which tend to repeat themselves)? These dreams pick up where the last left off…so it’s almost like seeing someone behind his back, right? I’m not sure. Sometimes I felt horrible for Robert because she’s practically cheating on this guy who really doesn’t exist but she does more with him than she’ll do with her actual boyfriend. It’s a very weird situation and one that’s very hard to see. But all I know is the closer you get to the end, the more I found myself cheering for Robert. I was torn between them but Robert is such a gentleman and what girl doesn’t want someone with manors and patience?
I want to thank Devon Ashley for allowing me the opportunity to read FALLING IN BETWEEN early and be a part of her blog tour. I really appreciate it and I really, really look forward to reading the next book. I definitely recommend this to readers who like reading books are realistic with a slight paranormal touch to it. But please, keep in mind that there are some graphic scenes and if you do not like reading those, then do not pick up this book. (Though, most people I know enjoy a little romance in their novels, so this shouldn’t be much of an issue)

Before I get into my review can I just say that it made me smile that I share a birthday with a fictional character, especially one as yummy as Chance? Yes. I smiled big time. So now that that is out of the way, let’s get to it!
Jenna Barker doesn’t know her parents and grew up in the system, going from foster family to foster family so got into this ‘rich kid’ school solely on scholarship, which she is very proud of. She has an accident and dies at the beginning of this book but her longtime crush; Robert brings her back after she nearly drowns after jumping off a cliff. But before Jenna is brought back she meets a boy in the in between…a boy who starts to visit her in her dreams.
During the day, she has Robert who is her new boyfriend and at night, when she closes her eyes she has Chance. It’s not cheating if it’s not real, right? That’s what Jenna thinks until she starts feeling guilty because she’s not as reserved for Chance, this random boy who visits her nightly. Things take a complete turn when we find out Chance isn’t a random, made believe boy in her dreams…
I don’t think this would be a book parents would be happy with their kids reading, however, if you’re one of those kids (no, not kids but teens) then I think this is a good book for you to be reading. It’s a coming of age story; one that I think would help you see that it’s OK not to just jump in a bed with some cute boy because “everyone else is doing it”. MY REVIEW
First of all , I love the cover, which is obviously (when you read the book) the female on the cover is Jenna, in her beautiful Prom dress, with the gorgeous corsage that was bought for her by ..........(read the book....no spoilers here!)
I really enjoyed the wit and humour in this book, sure its a little edgy and has mild language and sexual references and innuendo but its all done with taste and in context. To be totally honest I think that today's teenagers see and hear much more explicit language and innuendo on TV shows, Films and even in the school setting. This book also has some romance in it but not the yucky slushy slushy stuff more very well written coming of age romance.
There's a part in the book where there's the scandal that a girl has become pregnant whist living in the schools halls, so the Sports department hand out condoms to all the guys, which I would say is a pretty positive message to give to our teenagers, lets accept we cannot prevent them from .....shall we say experimenting, so maybe the best we can do is make sure that they are prepared for the..er event.
I loved the relationship between the four friends, Robert, Jhett, Sophie and Jenna. Jenna is the only one from a poor background and has never actually experienced anyone loving her or having anyone to love herself. Jenna doesn't feel sorry for herself though, she's a hard worker, and has her scholarship.
Sophie and Jhett's relationship is moving at a much faster pace than that of the less experienced and shy Jenna and Robert's relationship.
Then when Jenna goes to sleep she has this kind of racy dreams about a guy called Chance. The type of relationship Jenna and Chance have is much faster paced and of course because Jenna is in the security of her dreams she is much less inhibited than in her real life relationship with Robert. Robert is a nice guy, who agrees to take things slowly with jenna where as her "dream" guy Chance is a rather more forward "naughty" boy who likes to push and conquer Jenna's boundaries.
So who is Chance really? Is Jenna cheating on Robert by meeting and fooling around with Chance in her dreams? Is Chance somehow Jenna's sub-concious preparing for her blossoming love and sexual relationship with Robert? Can Jenna allow herself to accept Robert's love and affection? Will chance ever leave her dream world? If it wasn't for chance would Jenna and Robert have gone further with their relationship by now? These are lots of questions you will be able to ponder and perhaps answer when you have read this well written teenage aimed book.
From my "About Me" section you will see I certainly don't qualify as a teenager but I really did appreciate the humour and wit in this book, and found it an enjoyable read that I didn't want to put down.
Would I recommend it? YES! Would I read a book 2? YES! What genre would you put this book into? Coming of Age,bit of romance,great book!

Can I just say that I love the cover of this book? It’s so pretty! I love the nuance and the pink dress and everything.
So I’ve been pining for this book ever since I saw it on a Waiting on Wednesday post last year. And I’m glad to say that I really liked it. It was interesting and romantic. But what really made this book different was the writing style. I really had to get used to it.
First of all, this book very much revolves around relationships, romance and sex. It was very straightforward, which kind of shocked me a little since a lot of Young Adult books are kind of chaste. Some are so chaste that it takes them at least half the book to get to a teeny tiny kiss on the lips. So this was a surprise.( Which It shouldn’t have been since this book is directed at mature teens. I only realized how true that was after I’d read the book.) But besides the straightforwardness there was also a lot more tell than show. Normally I don’t like this, but in this case, it compensated for the straightforwardness. As in a lot of the time I felt like I was sitting with Jenna on her bed and she was gushing about her amazing date that ended with amazing sex. Because of that I think this is still more chaste than the lengthy I-feel-like-I’m-experiencing-it-too descriptions that can be found in Adult books.
I have to say that once I got used to the writing style, I liked it. I loved how realistic it was. The author looked at a very real and very possible situation and made it into a beautiful story. (At least I think it could happen.) And you know how sometimes you read a book and you wonder if the characters have ever heard of bowel movements or if the couples have ever heard of arguments? This wasn’t like that. OK, so there were no bowel movements involved, but this book was about real teens with real (raging) hormones and real dilemmas and I loved that. It was really sweet and romantic, but at the same time it was hot, sexy and yes, realistic and I liked how the author combined all of those things and made them work together.
Don’t even get me started on the characters. I love Chance! With his dreamy mossy green eyes with gold flecks and his sweet, playful and flirty personality there was just no stopping my crush on him from developing. *sigh
I liked Jenna and her friend Sophie. I also liked Robert, the guy certainly had his adorably sweet and romantic moments, but I just loved Chance more from the start. Oh and I liked Jhett, mostly because of that little talk he had with Jenna. It was sweet and honest.
This was just a beautiful, romantic story, not to mention hot and sexy, that makes you wonder what if…and could it be possible?

I actually really liked this book even though I wasn't thinking I would jump right back in and read it again. Usually when I give a book a 5 star rating it's because I'm ready to literally re-read the book as soon as I'm finished. I didn't think I would like this book and I hesitated to read it even though it was sitting on my Kindle for days. So why 5 stars? Because it was just different. It was a different kind of paranormal story (no devil, no vampires, no werewolves, no demons, no witches) just old school paranormal with no crazy end of world or civilization back story just simply a girl who has this experience during and after a near-death experience that she can't explain and has no deeper meaning other than she made a connection during this time that she can't seem to let go of. I didn't need a whole back story that overshadowed the love story right on the pages. In addition, in this book is a love triangle but it's not the typical pattern. There is no hidden agenda on the part of either boy in this book. There is no yelling at the book about seeing what is right in front of you. I agreed with her choice not because the other choice was bad for her but because there was no clear choice and I loved both boys equally. I felt it was a great HEA and I really had no desire for a sequel. I felt content and ready to move on. Imagine my surprise when I found out a sequel is coming in early 2013! I will most likely read it because I do want to see how this plays out further but if I missed it and didn't read the sequel, I would be ok with the ending. It felt nice and I hadn't had that experience in a while so that was why I really liked this book and gave it 5 stars even thought it didn't have nearly enough angst to have me screaming at the book!

Jenna is working up the nerve to talk to Robert, the guy she has been swooning over since last year. And her friend Sophie thinks the best way to do that is to go cliff jumping…into a pond…at night. Yeah probably not the smartest idea ever! But what do you know? It actually worked. Robert comes to her rescue and they live happily ever after. Ok, maybe this story isn't exactly a fairy tale. But as things start up between her and Robert, so do things with Chance. Oh who's Chance you might ask? Only a total hottie that visits every night while she is dreaming. And whoa, the dreams are pretty steamy! So now Jenna has both Robert and Chance to keep her 'entertained'; one at night and one during her waking hours. But what happens when Jenna realizes her dreamy escapades may not be all in her head? What will this mean for her and Robert?

I inhaled this book, absolutely adored it! Great contemporary feel to the story with a dose of supernatural. The characters were fun to read and I really cared about each one. I love a book when you actually have a good connection to the characters and their feelings. But just the whole story line was different and a delight to read. Be prepared; lots of hot and steamy romance within the pages of this book!! I was on the fence the entire time, not sure who I should be rooting for; swoon-worthy Chance or adorable boyfriend Robert. Both were perfect and made it that hard to decide who Jenna should end up with. Falling In Between is a must read with an ending that will leave you smiling!

Falling in Between by Devon Ashley is a sexy novel! It’s a novel of finding out who you really love the most.
I didn’t know what I was really getting into when I signed up to read and review Falling in Between. I picked this novel up because I really enjoy Devon’s other work, The Immortal Archive series.
I was blown away with this novel. It is so different from The Immortal Archives, but very different from Falling in Between. It’s a very seductive read and this book made me all tingly inside and out. I really enjoyed this novel and have yet to read something like this.
My favorite part of this book is the times she has spent with her best friend, Sophie, and Robert. I didn’t really like Chance because I didn’t believe that there was a guy like him. And when he is with Robert, I felt a connection for these two and I felt like he was real. I felt like maybe this is the guy for Jenna. As for the relationship between Sophie and Jenna, they’re really close, “bff”-close. Their relationship is like your typical bff-relationship. They are able to share anything and everything with each other. It’s hard to find friends like that, especially those who you can trust.
The only reason why this novel is not rated 5/5 is because sometimes I feel confused between Robert and Chance. I always mix the times Jenna has with Robert and Chance.

I’ll admit I didn’t get into this book until the second time we met Chance. You know the one I’m talking about? When he’s playing soccer and Jenna gets hit in the head with the soccer ball? Yeah, that one. Chance was very frisky and flirty. The perfect dream boy and I literally mean dream because that’s the only time he saw him. Everyone needs some lovin’ right? Even dream boys.
Then we have Robert. Jenna’s real life crush-turned-boyfriend. He’s pretty amazing. Definitely swoon-worthy too. He treats Jenna great and isn’t pushy with the intimate side of their relationship which gave him brownie points in my book.
My heart ached for Jenna when she came face-to-face with Chance in real life. Why you ask? Because a part of her loved both Chance and Robert. How do you choose between two real life guys who both have a piece of your heart? I couldn’t even tell you who I wanted Jenna to be with because I like both guys for very different reasons.
I thought Falling In Between had a great ending that set us up for the second book. I’m dying to know how it’ll play out. Even though in the end of this book she did choose who she wanted to be with, I’m curious as to who her heart will truly belong to.

This is probably more of a 4.5 stars for me...damn you, Goodreads and you're no half stars!!
Falling in Between is a fun romantic romp of a book with a little dash of naughty. But that dash of naughty is what makes it so authentically new adult. I teach HS...I know how the kids talk...sometimes even in front of me, much to my own mortification!! So, I dug the innuendo bc it made it real.
I love, loved Robert...and even though Chase was a hottie and a Mr. Suave Sex Machine, I didn't want Jenna to end up with him...in her dreams or in real life, lol. I mean, Robert saved her life, hello?!! Plus, he was just too adorable, sweet, kind, giving her the time and space she needed...And sweetness..PROM SCENE, ANYONE?!!!
Great character chemistry between Sophie and Jenna, as well as between Jhett and Robert.
I was literally gasping out-loud at the plot twist...it was pretty heartbreaking.

I really liked this book! I thought it was a really interesting story line. Dreams especially, have always been an interest of mine. There are so many things to question there, everyone has at one point or another had a dream that felt so real, that it was hard to shake off once you woke. I know I'm not the only girlfriend out there who has dreamt about my boyfriend acting like a complete tool, and then woke up vaguely irritated because "dream Jon was an Ahole" lol. So,I really found it intriguing to read a story about a place between dreams and reality.
I also enjoyed the slow budding romance between Jenna and Robert. I, of course, also thoroughly enjoyed the scenes with Chase too. And I have to say I thought the ending was AMAZING. I love how it all turned out and I just hope it won't be the last I read of this set of characters!

Falling In Between by Devon Ashley is about a teenager named Jenna, who after an unfortunate swimming accident, begins to have very interesting dreams...
OK, first I'd like to thank Devon Ashley for giving me the opportunity to review Falling In Between in exchange for an honest review. I'm extremely glad she did because I absolutely loved it. I definitely have to point out that Falling In Between is for the mature YA or Adult crowd, there are a few extremely STEAMY scenes. Those scenes and the entire book were very well written. The beginning might start a bit slow for other readers but I seriously want to urge anyone who reads Falling In Between to NOT GIVE UP, continue reading! This was a wonderful refreshing read and I hope there is more.

4.5 stars!!!
The book was so cute, funny and sexy and with those "awwwww...." moments. Although the ending was not the one I was expecting, I was drawn into the story right away. It has a kick of paranormal in it, but majority was under contemporary.
The story was about Jenna who almost died and met Chance during her quick after-death experience and bam! instant attraction but she was forced back to life because Robert, her long time crush, saved her. And the rest was history (dont wanna give spoilers, you have to read it).
I hope there'll be a sequel, coz I still want more from Chance/Evan, though I have to admit I like Robert. Gosh this love triangle can drive me crazy, in a cute sorta way. And glad that it's a mature YA :) definitely worth reading!

At first i thought it was a lame story but as i go further i got curious and it really intrigued me.. its not a lame story it's a unique plot of story. somehow i do believe that when we dream its the continuation of our reality. we dream because it never had happened in real life the way we wanted it to happen in reality. And that's what happened to Jenna and Chance. They never knew each other. they just met during their nearly death but somehow even before the accident they'd seen each other somewhere even for a split seconds. So yeah that's why Jenna continued dreaming about chance. Its a great story and I cant wait much longer for the book 2.. I think its better if we give Jenna and Chance/Evan a second chance that so far beyond dreaming but reality.

So I was reading and since I knew the plot of the book I kept wondering when the real "Chance" was gonna show up and then there he was! I mean Evan! Then I was like ohhhh... who is she going to be with? On. The. Edge.
I like how loyal Jenna was and honest with herself (maybe not so much other people but eh who cares). I adored Evan... he sounds gorgeous. Robert seems safe- thats about it. I really enjoyed Sophie and Jhett-- great interaction between them and the other characters. They really made the story better.
Got to the end and was like oh, okay I can handle that finish. Then...BOOM... found out there was another book. So I will be right back, I have to go read that now!

I'd like to give the full 4 stars but it didn't end the way I wanted it too, so I would have to say 3.5 stars is the best it's gonna get. Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy the book (and I also understand that I personally can't change the outcome of the book cause clearly I didn't write it!). I thought it was funny and heart-warming. I found the female characters easy to relate to (I remember being that age and the silly things I got up to) and the male characters were very much teenage boys!! Haha! I don't know what's going to happen in the next book but I am really hoping Chance makes an appearence. (I am still rooting for him)

I have to say I expected a bit more from this book. I liked the story, don't get me wrong. I'll most likely even read the sequel just to see where the story could possibly go from where this one ended. However, I was a little disappointed. Almost 70% through the book I was still thinking, ok where's the climax? I felt like I waited forever waiting for something major to happen. Then when it did happen, it was what I expected all along. On top of that, after the big *gasp* moment, I got pretty irritated with the main character. I felt really bad for her boyfriend and really annoyed with her. All in all it was an ok book. If I remember by the time it comes out, I'll give book two a shot.

I read the Ebook preview, and I disliked it. Will have to get the full copy for snarking purposes.

Edit: This book needs more plot. It was pretty much plotless. You can still keep teens making out but it needs a storyline.
The characters were hardly developed. They were also too boy crazy for my liking.
About the sexual content it wasn't racy nor explicit. It showed a healthy amount of sexual contact for older teens. It wasn't a perfect example for it, but it wasn't bad.
I wish the alternate dream world was more fleshed out and had more plot. Wasted potential.
This book dragged at points tbqh.

Wow, this is the first time when I've read a book in a series that left me satisfied with the ending! Even though there is another books on its way, which I will read, I just have to say that I am not pissed about waiting! I hate when the book just drops you. I wasn't expecting a lot out of this book. After reading "In Dreams" I wasn't so sure if I was going to like this one, but to my surprise this book was really good! I loved how this story, even though talked about sex all the time, was more about learning about Jenna and how to be loved and return love. I can't wait to see where she is led down the road in the next book!

I really enjoyed this novel. It is in no way your typical love triangle. The story is beautiful, and the teen writing feels very real. I was easy pulled in and didn't want to set the book aside. And the ending ... well, I won't give anything away, but it was perfect. Perfect for the story anyway.
My one word of caution is that this novel is for older teens. While there is NO QUESTION that teens are having sex and doing everything leading up to it, this novel is quite descriptive and some of the scenes are intense.

AHHH - I'm slowly dying for the sequel, even knowing it's not due out til 2013 (sweet torture)! This is totally on my list of top reads for 2012. It's rare, but I love stumbling across a book that I never heard of before, written by an author I've never heard of before, and becoming so enthralled that I immediately set out to own each and every other thing they've ever written. So far, 2012: Jamie McGuire and now Devon Ashley. Note: This might not be geared for a younger crowd (sexual content/mature situations, etc.).

This book was actually really cool. The heroine was abandoned at birth and was on a scholarship. When she had an accident she drown and died at the same time as another boy. She was brought back from death by Robert, our hero. But she kept dreaming about the other boy named Chance who was actually really Evan. He was still in a coma. The heroine got him out of the coma, he didn't remember her and so she moved on with Robert.
It was a very emotional novel, very up and down which made me love it even more.
