Just when you thought the fairies couldn't get any cuter. . . here come the baby animals! Rachel and Kirsty to the rescue! The girls are spending a week of their summer vacation at the Wild Woods Nature Reserve. They're going to volunteer as junior rangers-- which means lots of quality time with all the animals who live there! But Jack Frost has taken the Baby Animal Rescue Fairies' magic key chains. Even worse, he's planning to use the fairies' stolen magic to kidnap baby animals for his icy zoo. Rachel and Kirsty must save baby koala
This book was really bad. No, actually, the only redeeming factor was the goblins. The goblins. One star alone for even the goblins not being immune to baby animal cuteness (I get it! The illustrations for Kiki were excellent, like, that is a literal princess, she’s so fucking cute!). Honestly, I’m actually so mad that my least favourite series has the most wholesome goblins. I mean, come on, they threw a whole party for Kiki the baby koala! (They have no idea what she, or koalas in general, actually like… but their hearts were in the right place.)
Jack Frost was truly at his most dickish in this book, this might be as bad as his behaviour in Alicia the Snow Queen Fairy. This series is probably the worst depiction of him I’ve seen so far. The poem alone was so bad! Truly one of his worst poems because how dare you forget the zebra?! Also, this poem just further heightens how ridiculous Jack Frost’s reasoning for causing all this mess is. “I love animals” - No, you don’t! What you’re describing is animal cruelty. At least in the Pet Fairies series, he was depressed because no animal wanted to choose him to be their pet owner, and then in the Magical Animal Fairies series, he just wanted a companion to make his pet happy. This whole storyline is nonsense, I can’t wait to see how they justify all of this in the final book because what the hell is this?!
Even Kimberly’s design is awful! It could’ve been so good, but the tights were just too much, and the UGGs were definitely a CHOICE. Also, I completely forgot how fucking ugly this map was and now I’m angry again.
Daisy Meadows and her fairies are my childhood. I collected so many in my youth, knowing all the fairies and their importance, and sticking with the two special girls who go to be a part of the magic. Years ago I had to give my beautiful collection away, now still part of my childhood school where little girls are picking their favourite fairies and playing pretend. It's fun to hear stories from my old teachers telling me how over the years so many students have grabbed these books and fallen in love with the tales of two girls, Jack Frost and the fabulous glittering magic that is the fairies. On Christmas last year, my sister surprised me with a boxset of these books, but cause you cannot collect these darlings as easily anymore. I was over the moon! If anyone has a little one who needs a little magic in their life, wants to read and needs a big creation to be hooked on...it is Daisy Meadows!
Kristy and her best friend Rachel Walker. The girls were outside the wildlife center with other Junior rangers waiting for. But fairyland need help to protect wildlife from Kristy and Rachel... It was fun story to read!!
