What does it mean to do everything 'in Jesus' name'? Is that an ideal attainable only by a few 'super Christians'--or is it a way of life we can all experience? Leader's guide included! Fully Devoted group sessions are: What Is True Spirituality? Grace Growth Groups Gifts Giving 'We Know Him Well . . . '
I worked through this seven-week devotional book for weekly meetings with my professor Dean Flemming and my friend Josh Turner. It guided our discussion each time we met and moved us to devotional reflection and prayer on our own during the week. Ortberg makes you carefully think through many challenging realities of living our lives as though Jesus were in our place each day. It prompted careful examination and encouragement of my own spiritual life.
Many of us read things like this and think, "Wow, that's really good." Then we continue on about our day having made no commitment to work toward that which was really good in it. It's the story of all of us to an extent.
In Fully Devoted: Living Each Day in Jesus' Name, you are given seven short lessons with practical exercises that follow. The back of the book has some helpful guidelines for those using this book to lead discussions.
This was a rereading of a book I'd used in a small group discussion. It is made for small groups, but I just wanted to go back and refresh myself on these topics.
