I thought this was very funny. Principal Pennypacker's bunny gets to visit Heidi's classroom for a week. Everybody loves the bunny very much, and at the end of the week, Principal Pennypacker pulls a slip of paper from a hat that says Heidi's name. So this means that Heidi gets to take the bunny home for the weekend. Because it is very close to Easter, Heidi and her family dye eggs. After everybody gets ready for Easter, Heidi takes out the bunny even though she's not supposed to and shows the bunny the eggs. There is still dye on the table and the bunny jumps out of Heidi's hands and gets dye all over herself and on the floor. Heidi doesn't want to get in big trouble so she wipes up the dye quickly. She tries to wash the bunny off but it is no use. Then she uses her book of spells and finds a spell how to undo dye from something, so she uses that spell. One of the ingredients is white toothpaste, but she uses white toothpaste with blue specks. So after the spell, the bunny has blue specks on her. Aunt Trudy helps her fix it.

Heidi took home Maggie, the principal's bunny, for Easter weekend. When they got home, they decorated Easter eggs. After they decorated, Heidi wanted to show Maggie the Easter eggs. Maggie ruined everything and got all tie dyed. Heidi did a spell to get the dye off of the bunny. When they went back to school, nobody noticed anything different with Maggie.

Heidi Heckelbeck remains a favorite. In this story we have an Easter problem - the school's pet bunny accidentally gets dyed with Easter egg dye. Of course Heidi tries to solve the problem and makes things a bigger mess until things get sorted out. Once again, I enjoy how her family reacts in a strong and supportive way as she figures out life in general. Definitely a cute story!

I liked when Heidi got the oil and pretended to drink it and then did her spells. I would probably give it 4.5 stars.

Finally! There's a multi-story plot arc! Principal Pennypacker may be a witch! It's nice when a series starts small (especially one that is written for younger children) and can grow as the children become more familiar with the characters and setting. Also, I clocked it this time, and I can read this book aloud in about 30 minutes - very reasonable for youngsters who want more depth and breadth than your average picture book, but who can't yet read on their own.

Heidi begins to suspect that her Principal is actually a witch just like her. He seems to notice things that others do not. Once again, Heidi uses magic to try to solve her problems and ends up creating more issues.

The names were irritating and the stories were too dry. I'm going to donate it.
