Peaches is a nature pixie. Fully bonded to his orchard, he can only leave his land for a finite time. Plants, soil, daylight, and every living thing Mother Nature has on tap flows like liquid sunshine through Peaches’s lively veins.
Lucroy Moony was born into his vampiric second life over six hundred years ago. King of the Southeastern nest in the United States, Lucroy is responsible for more than his bar, Dusk. Lucroy only comes alive when the sun goes down. The moon and stars are his backdrop—the sun the quickest path to a pile of ash. Death and darkness fill Lucroy’s body with borrowed blood.
Pixies and vampires couldn’t be more different, and yet, Lucroy and Peaches find themselves drawn together time and again. But vampire myth cautions that pixie blood is deadly, and Lucroy’s willing to put that tale to the test. Nothing that smells as temptingly delicious as Peaches’s blood can be toxic. Right?
Lucroy wants nothing more than to court fate with his pixie, but someone’s been whispering in the vampire council’s ears, and they aren’t pleased to learn Lucroy killed a werewolf to save a pixie. If the council decides Lucroy was in the wrong, his life is forfeit, and the nest he’s tried so hard to protect could be left in sadistic hands.
Lucroy needs to convince the council pixies aren’t toxic but precious creatures. And, more importantly, one pixie, in particular, is his beloved—his Perfectly Perfect Pixie, Peaches.
Perfectly Perfect Pixie has a HEA ending and contains a willful nature pixie, a smitten vampire bar owner, pixie dust eating sprites, and a smattering of dwarf, werewolf, and fairy intrigue. Other species come along for the ride, popping up here and there. Be warned, there is vampire violence and a few heads will roll. If that is offensive or triggering, this may not be your cup of tea.
Perfectly Perfect Pixie is a standalone book but for full enjoyment, Perfectly Imperfect Pixie should be read first.
I've been a veterinarian for almost twenty years and have recently added published author to my resume. I've been writing for over fifteen years, most of those stories languishing on my computer. A couple of years ago my fear of never trying to publish my stories overcame my fear of failure. The result is my first book, "Sow What You Reap". It is the first in the Reaping Covetous series. The next book, "Dead Women Tell Tales" should be out by the end of October 2021.
I love supernatural, urban fantasy, paranormal, and mystery genres. I write both M/F and M/M oriented stories.
Please don't hesitate to ask me a question or two.
Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy my stories. I know I love telling them.
I'm quitting because I don't feel any of the things I loved in the first book.
Many readers pointed in their reviews out that for them Peaches's book had more romance, chemistry and sex than Phil's book.
Phil had been a shy character who had been bullied all his life because of his unusual size, and his lovely character and how he felt and acted made me love the first book.
Peaches was a self assured, good-natured beautiful pixie, but I didn't love him as I had loved Phil. I didn't see the connection and attraction between him and Lucroy either, and I missed the steps when/how they fell in love. Yes they had sex in this book, but it felt hollow to me because I didn't feel their connection.
I loved the first one fiercely. This one didn't have that magic.
The first book had a depth, a very important story to tell about a very different pixie and his struggle to be. And about the wolf who let him.
This one started with the main characters already, kind of in like, so it's kinda insta, and I didn't understand why? They had nothing in common, and their lifestyles were totally different, and I dunno, I didn't vibe with them as much as with the couple of the first book.
Their conflict wasn't really about them, not really, so not even that I could get lost in.
I enjoyed what I could, but the first one is my favorite. 😍
“Vampires…we’re told not to dream, that holding on to such hopes will only lead us into the sun all the quicker. ”
Estoy muy feliz con esta novela y el motivo es el mismo hecho que exista.
“I live in the sun. I can’t live in the dark, Lucroy. +I’d never ask you to live in the dark. Not with me. Not with anyone. I would love to walk into the sun with you, but -You’d burn to ash”.
“I may not like bloodshed, but sometimes it’s well deserved. ”
The chemistry of the MCs on this one was better than the first. Though, I understand how Phil & Sed's story involves the whole family, it just felt lacking. Lucroy & Peaches, on the other hand, had a nice meet cute on previously, and it developed beautifully in this installment. The build up in their affection and relationship had a good pace while the challenges escalate. Good read.
What's a vampires favorite fruit? A blood orange. PSYCH, it's Peaches, obvi.
Cause nothing is sweeter than peaches and this book is as sweet as can be. All the fluff, all the love, and all the same interspecies world-building fun that we had in book 1.
Peaches & Lucroy are friggin' adorable. Lucroy is everything I could hope for Peaches. It kind of felt like the romance in the book carried just as much weight as the background interspecies issues, but I honestly didn't have a problem with it. It made the story really interesting and fun to read. It's nice to just kick back and enjoy a soft, easy fantasy once in a while.
I also like that the mildly explicit language and spice went just a step further than the first book - I think it suited this couple perfectly.
Speaking of the first book, I was dreadfully afraid that Phil & Sed would be well in the background of this book and it would make me sad because I miss them so much but THANK YOU, M.J, because their love is still very much pouring off the pages of this one. There's beautiful little scenes where we see that our favorite pixie-werewolf duo are still going strong and it makes my heart so happy. (with that said, if Phil & Sed got another book I WOULD NOT COMPLAIN)
If my guess is correct (and I think it is because it was pretty obvious), I cannot WAIT for the duo in the next book!
This wasn't as good as book 1 for some reason. Even though there is more romance and more physical intimacy, it felt lacking for me. I powered through the last 30% and wanted to DNF but finished it eventually. I'm still giving this 3 stars because I liked the dynamic of the two MCs even though it was lackluster at times.
I loved mismatched Peaches and Lucroy together. Peaches is sunshine in a person and Lucroy lives in the night, but they work hard to figure out how they can be together.
The drama with the vampires and werewolves was really engaging too, and I so enjoyed the vampire council scene!
I'm so curious about Wendall, and I really like Ray, Leon and Johnny too. I'm excited to see what comes next!
This is the second book in the Perfect Pixie series, and I strongly suggest that you read the first book before diving into this one. Phil and Sedrick, Ray, the Voss pack, and even the dwarves all show up here not just as cameos, but as characters. Plot points from the first book show up again in this one, and it will be very hard to keep up with or understand what’s going on without being familiar with the series. Besides, the first book was wonderful, and well worth the read.
This book felt kind of shallow and surface level, to be honest. Peaches and Lucroy are already half in love at the beginning of the book, and fall so instantly into love that there’s no buildup and no tension between them. Peaches, himself, is as substantial as sunlight. His personality is nice. He’s a loyal friend, a devoted lover, and from start to finish … he’s nice. Lucroy is more interesting, and I think the author pulls off the sense of him as someone very clever, very logical, and very tired of all the nonsense quite well.
Suuuper fucking cute and somewhat unlike much of what I’ve ever read before which is always exciting! This one did a bit better on making the romance the main part of the story, and there was even a touch of on page sex. I do prefer more but it helped.
I thought this was an enjoyable continuation of the series! Follows a different couple, but the previous book's events and characters are very much present and I don't think it works well as a standalone. I actually didn't mind -- sometimes with these kinds of series I find the characters all a bit much, but here it just felt like a was living in a world and seeing the people they'd interact with naturally. I do wish we'd gotten to see a bit more of the build between Lucroy and Peaches here, as it starts after they've already got an attraction going, but I enjoyed the plot, and thought they were sweet together. Also appreciated this was a bit higher steam than book 1.
I didn't enjoy this one as much as the first. I feel that all of Lucroy's problems were self made, not to mention predictable. And the shenanigans brought on by the silly ruse detracted from the love story.
It's still a fun world, though, so I'll keep going with the series.
This was as good as book one. The thing I love about these books is that the “tough” half of the pair doesn’t change after the mating. The werewolves don’t suddenly become vegetarian and the vampires don’t get softer. I like how true to their nature they remain and they’re accepted by their pixies in the same way they accept the soft nature of the pixies. The epilogue intrigues me. I wonder what the new pixie is hiding.. 👀
I’m going to be honest. I was hesitant to start this one. I loved Book 1 (Perfectly Imperfect Pixie), but that was because I knew going into it that Phil would have character flaws and hang-ups. I love a good endearingly flawed character. But when it came to this book, Peaches’ story…well, the title alone suggested otherwise.
Imagine my surprise to love this book so.much.more.
Don’t get me wrong, Peaches is actually perfect. But it’s not annoying. If anything, Peaches is one of the most perfectly written Ray of Sunshine characters I’ve ever read. He’s also feisty and bossy when needed, and I loved how he stayed true to character from Book 1 to Book 2.
But Lucroy, y’all. He was a masterpiece. His inner monologue was so fitting for a 600-year-old vampire. I have no idea how MJ May managed to write a character who was a master at hiding every emotion (and literally undead) come across on page as so…human? Idk. I can’t explain it. He was a perfect mix of monster and cinnamon roll.
Like Book 1, Perfectly Perfect Pixie is heavy on the plot and relationship development and light on the smut (although this book has a bit more than it’s predecessor), so don’t go into expecting lots of heat. I enjoyed that here, but I also have times I crave some spice, so if that’s what you’re in the mood for, this ain’t it. At it’s core, it’s a fun, fluffy read despite a few dark elements, but I’m a mood reader and sometimes that just hits.
Still, I definitely recommend this series. It’s only getting better. Parsnip’s story is one I can’t wait to read. And I reallyyy hope I see more of Leon, Johnny, and WENDELL. I need Wendell’s story like I need to breathe.
Oh, so sweet ... Peaches was such a sweet guy in the first book, and he was the same here. I loved the way his relationship with his garden was described and how that developed.
Lucroy is a fitting partner for him. I liked how the story developed and that they really talked about their possible relationship. He is so understanding, and I loved how he understood how important the garden is for Peaches.
In the middle of the book, it is a bit ... clinical (not sure if that is the perfect word). I would have liked it if there had been a bit more tension.
Nevertheless, this was a real lice read, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
This has a much faster pace than the first book, and essentially lacked the frustrations I had with that one. Yet somehow, it was also less emotionally engaging, and I find that I enjoyed the first book much more.
That said, this was still enjoyable and I liked the couple a lot, as well as the fun little sprites. The climax was very engaging and had me on the edge of my seat.
Very sweet and interesting for a book without that much action. The final stand-off was satisfying. The chemistry between the MCs was believable.
I only feel somehow a bit sorry for them both if you think about it. Peaches practically dies if he stays away from his bonded orchard and after mating they are practically immortal. Imagine an eternity to explore a few hectare of land, thousands of years... maybe if they take a very fast car everywhere they can reach within a 5 hour drive in one direction. This is something I already thought about in book one where the pixie was bonded to a single house plus the inhabitants. Then I argued that he might be able to extend to a view days for some short holidays because the pixie is at least also bonded to his mate, but here... Maybe there is some workaround we haven't been made aware of like Peaches carrying around some dirt with him from his orchard. 🧐 But I'm not so sure, the author would have to make some real changes, as Phil was written getting weaker even being in his mate's company. Maybe he would have to carry around a shingle or splinter a finger or something 🤔
Perfectly Perfect Pixie follows the story of Peaches and Lucroy. I like how different this series is from MJ’s other two series: Maverick Insurance was good but not enough to keep me interested in the second book. Reaping Covetous was more on paranormal than fantasy and holds a special spot for me on the author’s sensibility to write about so many difficulty themes. I also loved the cover art in both books. The fact that is in b&w on a e-reader takes some of the joy. I couldn’t truly admire it until I opened the book on my phone app. In this book, while the pair seems to be wildy different, they work. Peaches is more confident and experienced in life than his friend Phil. However, even that does not make him less naïve when it comes to his relationship with Lucroy. It’s endearing. There’s drama with some vampires trying a coup and some interesting new characters showing up. The situation that led to Peaches being attacked could be seem from miles away and it did not surprise me. I liked the main Council member and how he dealt with everything. The book finishes introducing a new pixie and I wonder who will be his mate. My money is on Hellfire Rayburn.
5 stars… Love peaches, love Lucroy and vampires in general so this was great. I was hoping for a bit more spice since we didn’t get almost anything until the last few pages but this was great. I liked learning their vampire lore and the spites was an interesting dynamic. I’m glad we got to see Lucroy flex his king muscles. As soon as they mentioned the social pixie with a “P” name I knew we’d get them next and the blurb sounded exciting!!!
1/5 on spice. 1/5 on kink. 1/5 on tears. How big is a normal pixie. I keep thinking like 4 feet or so but idk lol
Cute second book, I liked this couple a lot. Tiny sun-personified pixie and a vampire king. They were absolute sweethearts together, and the author seemed to find her stride with the romance/heat balance in this book too. Not so closed-door romance as the first, but still very intentional with plot pacing for any heat.
I liked that the first book dealt with Phil developing his self worth and place in life, while book 2 has Peaches self-assured in appearance and purpose. It was a neat contrast that makes each book enjoyable on its own.
Ancient vampires are my favorite thing ever which makes Nirgal my favorite thing ever. Peaches and Lucroy were adorable and I loved how involved Sedrick and Phil were in their story.
Vampires, hardworking protective loyal sprites, weres, betrayal, idiocy… most importantly an HEA. No more info needed IMO.
I was so looking forward to Peaches getting his own happiness, and I was not disappointed. He and Lucroy were totally opposites, but they were absolutely perfect for each other. I already can't wait to see what Parsnips' happy ending looks like.
Just as cute as the first one. I love the pixie characters and like even more seeing them get their man. I’m so excited that there will be another book in this series. I am enjoying everything about it.
