This story, "The Run," by Eric Crawford is a book about the Louisville college basketball team winning the National Championship in 2013. They traveled a long way to get there with lots of obstacles in there way. The players treated every one of their teammates like a brother. They cared for each other, loved each other, and showed this off and on the court. There was a time when a player in the team named Kevin Ware had a very dangerous injury in the Louisville vs Duke game. The whole team was on his side and very emotional about him, they were even praying for him since it was so bad. They used this as a motivation for their run to the championship.
The author did a well job in this book. He showed that you can overcome any obstacle life throws at you when you're trying to accomplish a goal and instead use it as motivation. The author showed everything Louisville went through that season to win the championship from the beginning to end. He also made the book feel more exciting as you're reading when there are big moments in the book.
I'd give this book a rating of 3/5. It was a good book but not one of best, I don't think it's a book I'll be talking about years to come. I liked it though mostly because it was about a sport that I really love which is basketball. I didn't think it was much of a story but more of like a non fiction book which is not a genre that I love so much. But overall it was an ok and I recommend it for readers who like sports and especially basketball.
I think the book was pretty good to be honest. Even though I'm a Kentucky fan and it hurts me to say it, but Louisville didn't do so bad on their run to the NCAA championship. The book explains how hard working Louisville is. The book might have some flaws and repeat, if you pay to some parts. But it's alright! I'm giving credit to the author and the Louisville basketball team and their coach for being apart the book. Very well. You guys are pretty good team and keep up good work. Thumbs up for Louisville. Not to confuse people, but I'm still on Kentucky's side. (Good game against Louisville.)
A collection of articles which ran during Louisville's run to the NCAA Basketball championship in 2012. While the articles were interesting, there was really no linear timeline to them. I would imagine a Louisville hoops fan would love this, but for a fan of college basketball as a whole, it didn't hold my interest quite as much as I would have liked.
